I read an article that said playing left hand alone is a good way to build up confidence and reduce hesitation while playing, I wasn't sure what that meant but I guess it mean playing pieces like this! This is wonderful, I'll give it a go!
Playing LH rep will certainly improve finger independence - your thumb for example (the clumsiest instrument, at lest for me) will have to act as the leading melodic voice. Best of luck if you do have a crack at it. Would love to hear it! :)
This is so good I came back again
Very nice. I like the tempo, the dreamy melody, which seems to be searching for something.
Thank you!
It reminds me of a left-hand piece that Scriabin wrote early in his career.
Ending in quadruple pianissimo, love it!
Double pianissimo ;)
Thanks! It's about time I learned how to end a piece LOUDLY!
@@ethanpunto9222 True! Lol
Beautiful piece; the music lacks nothing. The best one-handed pieces are the ones where you can’t tell, and were it not for the title, I’d never have known. Thanks for adding to the left-handed repertoire; great work!
Thank you so much, Bethany! I became aquainted with LH rep when I injured my RH back in 2014-15 and have loved it ever since. Would you fancy having a go writing something yourself? :)
@@FrederickViner I became acquainted with it myself last year after breaking a RH finger 🙃 so I was happy to hear this piece! Actually, I did end up writing a small prelude for LH: ua-cam.com/video/_2_Lr51z-IA/v-deo.html
From all the sheet videos I keep browsing through, this is the best stuff I've heard in a good while
Thank you, Ricardo!
sounds wonderful!
Thank you!
Very nice piece indeed. Lovely. Reminds me very slightly of Godowsky's Elegy for left hand alone, and none the worse for that, which is a favourite of mine as I can no longer play with my right hand after an injury. I'll head off now to buy the sheet music!
Thanks for the kind words, Jeff! I hope you have fun with it and would love to hear you play it!
So absurdly good, it strikes a fantastic balance between simplicity and excitement
Easily one of my new favourites!
Thanks for your lovely comment! I didn't have a lot of confidence about this piece as it went unperformed for several years, so your kind words really mean a lot :)
Came back one more time
So pleased you enjoy the piece, Ricardo. I wrote 5 easy LH pieces recently - hoping to get them out there soon…
this is beautiful!
clever word play, all thats "left"!!!!
Stay tuned for more awful puns...
@@FrederickViner YOU DID THE SAME WITH "RIGHT" AWAY!!!!
@@supasayajinsongoku4464 Told you 😉
Bravo Frederick! Very nice piece :))
Thank you! :)
This is beautiful! Kind of sad and introspective. Excellent use of pedaling to make it sound like two hands.
I am listening to it with only left earphone working, welp
This is a lovely piece. If I learn this for the left hand can I play fur elise with the right? 😂
Thanks, David! Now that would be...interesting 😂
everything was excellent except the NON-SERIF FONT
Yep. Should have put Heveltica Neue or something like that
Very beautiful piece, congratulations! A pity I got an injury in my left hand.
Thanks, mate :) Sorry to hear about your hand! How'd you do that?
@@FrederickViner I have no idea. I must have bent my index finger somehow and after that the inflammation did the rest. And that was like 3 months ago already.
Lovely composition and lovely performance!
Thank you, Charles!
Beautiful ❤️ Listening to it while raining outside
