@@mingigotme Novela is a Spanish word adopted by Filipinos. I think the term Korean Novela is unique to the Philippines because we are so used to using the term “novela” to refer to TV shows because before the introduction of KDrama, Latin American shows frequently aired on local TV stations. These shows, which were mostly from Mexico, were called “telenovela” or soap opera. So when KDrama was introduced, locals started referring to it as Korean Novela
Is there any filipino here currently learning or fluent in Korean? 😇 I would like to collaborate in learning :) I'm currently on the intermediate level 😇
MccoyTravels dude I am intermediate level as well. I took Topik level 2 and I am planning to get Topik 4 next year. please tell me if you want to collaborate. i badly want a study buddy to study with.
I am half Filipino Half Korean and it has been 9 years already since i left Manila. Watching this video made me miss Manila so much ! Filipinos are very hospitable in general. Regarding those Filipinos loving the Korean culture, way back in high school before I fully embrace my Korean side, there was one filipina friend of mine who actually thought me how to read ansd write the korean alphabet. Like DAMN she knew all those stuffs way before me. Hopefully I can visit Manila this year as I am really craving for Jollibee, Mang inasal, chowking, lechon, mango float ansd many many many more !
Filipinos are really friendly specially if you're a Korean because many Filipinos are either K-pop Fan or K-drama fan. Sad to think that that's not what Koreans feel with Filipinos. In Hello Counselor there's a Korean guy who's been called or bullied as Filipino because of his brown skin which are real Filipinos color. I'm definitely hurt by it but we Filipinos are beautiful and we deserve to be respected too😰 Btw, your videos are awesome!!
Hurts how asia values white skin and you guys get left behind.. but aren't some of you light? Most city girls in the philippines look really white. Chinese white almost. Guys always look sun kissed though..
Miles Lai as a Korean American I love your country and I apologize on behalf of the Koreans who have hurt ur people!!!!!!!! Mahal kita ang Pilipinas po!!!!!! 🇰🇷❤️🇵🇭

Hahaha, this is so cute and about the "OPPA" thing, it doesn't mean handsome guy but it is a misunderstood by most of Filipinos and think that the meaning of it is handsome guy (because of Korean Novellas/Dramas). The tagalog term for handsome guy is "pogi or gwapo" 포기 / 구와포
Hellooooo! Proud FIlipino here! I'm fluent in Tagalog and English and learning Korean and as soon as I saw this video I was very happy lol. Filipinos are fans of Korean dramas, Kpop and even the culture, we actually have a lot of people that learn Korean in certain parts of the Philippines because there's a lot of them there, like my mom told me that Koreans drive tricycles and Filipinos will speak to them in Korean about where to go and stuff!
Im so proud about this cause not everyone in Philippines is like this. Like this peoples is so kind but the others is not idk why they're like that. But im very proud to be a filipino😍

"I'm not sure if that is because they're naturally born nice.." Well, I guess, I should say this.. I'm a pure Filipino and as a filipino.. WE were naturally and also biologically born nice and kind as well. WE filipinos also have that long patience and never ending act of loving as well. And.. well I guess you don't know filipinos that much and also, I suggest you make a vlog about our country (Philippines). And also, WE filipinos do really loved to be loved by people such as a travelers. I mean, filipinos do REALLY loved talking to foreign or asian travelers. And when you also perform kindness to filipinos they.. WE literally mirrored those acts that you've done. In short, I just suggest you to make more vlogs about our country Philippines, for you to know more acts of kindness from us😉. And I, as a Filipino.. I REALLY DO LOVED KOREANS "HONESTLY". (Korean fan here btw lol) not much on korean artists but.. I do like more about the normal looking koreans (juss sharing☺️). And don't forget to have a safe trip and always be safe on a trip... Remember.. just always be careful and God bless you guys! I already liked the intro lol. Thans for making a vlog about our country btw.
I just recently watch videos from jaykeeout and I really enjoy watching it. I started to watch this show since 2019. Just today I saw this video and I was kinda wow. They are so lucky to meet him. Well, we filipinos were known to our unique hospitality when it comes to socializing with other people. Thanks for appreciating us. Fighting!!!!

i think Filipinos, in general, are very approachable and easy to talk to. Filipinos always make an effort to help out foreigners, in fact, most of us would be happy to interact with them even if our conversational english can be awkward at times and that's really charming haha so don't be surprised especially since korean culture is really huge here
Oppa is older brother. Filipino thinks it's handsome, all older brothers are handsome. Cause of watching korean dramas. But they just call them "oppa" even if they don't know their ages. Just by the looks.
Filipino's is known as Hospitable, Jolly ,friendly and Smiling country, eventhough the situation is really hard, they always smile, and Filipino's is respectable specially to their family and older of them... And Philippines is one of the country that many churches..
Korean culture is really popular here in the Philippines besides American. The music (K-pop), movies and series (K-drama), and food. So we know several Korean words and phrases. And yeah, both Korea and USA are the countries who visit and even live in the Philippines the most 500,000 people from each of those countries annually. I love that we are all like even connecting a lot more.

Hi!!! You should go to Cebu! There are soooooo many koreans there! There are also many Korean marts and restaurants everywhere! Lastly, there are Koreans who can already speak Cebuano(Cebu's dialect) fluently and they're already used in the way how we Filipinos live. Koreans just come and go every single day. That's why the vendors, drivers, etc knows how to speak Korean fluently. You would be amazed!
Love your videos!(as always)
사랑해!!
What in Cebu aww sadly im not near Cebu (´;ω;`)
Valerie T_T you will be shocked and they can also speak Japanese
Ae Ra Shin they can speak japanese as well? woahh that’s so cool! I want to go to Cebu very badly, I hear it’s very beautiful there!!
Maybe they watch to many anime thats why they know japanese as well😂
Especially in mactan BAHAHHAHA
“There’s a beautiful woman..”
Jay: Everybody’s beautiful in kdrama LOL”
“She was engaged..”
Jay: “everybody’s engaged in kdrama”
LOOOL stating facts
We're sorry about that 'oppa' thingy. But, most of filipino's thinks that 오빠(oppa) is used to call a handsome guy. Even men's are saying 'oppa' too, and that's so awkward... It's a mannerism in our country to call a tall guy/handsome guy/ has a white skin guy/ an oppa.. They've learned it especially to those kdramatic and kpoper (I'm a kpoper, but I don't use 'oppa' to call a handsome guy) .. Imaooo
Zelkkk_ 013 hindi lahat... Some pilipino nag.aaral ng korean language and culture . Isa na ako don.
Wala naman po akong sinabing Lahat ah? 😂 What I mean is karamihan sa mga filipino.
Oppa is older brother or your bf they called it oppa...not handsome guy....most teenagers these days love to watch korean novela...however...they don't really know the real personality or attitude of kreans....yup..some of them are nice but most of them are so mean when you stay longer in s korea....
Zelkkk_ 013 that kind of culture in our country like errr minsan nakaka-tanga noh? AHAHAHAHAHAHAH then they sometimes call thr finger heart oppa din shshshh
Bobo. Baliw. alam ko salita ng oppa. KUYA MEANING NUN GAGO. HANDSOME? potang ina babaho ng itlog ng mga yan maliit pa etits. pota! GWAPO? SAN BANDA? E.THEY ALL PLASTIK SURGERY!!!!!!!
I went to Korea last May and I enjoyed my stay there. My sister's boss invited us to stay overnight in their house and even cooked for us and we thanked her for her hospitality and she said "you're welcome, this is Korean culture' she even drove us to go to Everland Park and the husband drove us to the train station too, wow they were very accommodating and one lady helped us too to contact our agent when we went to Naju City. I enjoyed my subwayS' trip. Greetings from Phil.
[2:07] I love the girl's Filipino accent while speaking in English

where`s the laugh emoticon here !! hahaha
Bahahahahhaha😂😂😂
masarap ka? 😂
Filipinos need to know what oppa really means. Korean men prob cringe when strangers call them that 😂
Its so cringe, i coudnt watch =(
lol
I would say in this situation has to be vice versa. We both need to learn from each other and be understanding! Deferent countries deferent cultures.
Its a bandwagon here they dont search the word their saying and putting meaning to some words
As a filipina, i feel soooo embarassed watching this :(
Novela en filipino se dice similar.
Yes... Its similar...
Filipinos are indeed nice ^-^
I have been in that place before skl
Dito ka nakatira

Skl? Hahaha sino niloko mo hahahaha
Yeah the Philippines is open to Korean culture from what I've seen during my summer vacay there (+from media stuff)!!
You can literally go anywhere and you will see tonsss of Samgyeopsal restauraunts lmaoo!!!!!!!

First interaction was somewhat meaningful and 2nd one was like I don't know how to communicate but I'll just smile. Peace ✌️
Yay..! Pinoys are awesome people, super hospitable.. it's just like my second home and happy to be an in law..ㅋㅋㅋㅋ. Good job, Jaykee
watching this vid make me happy, i was literally smiling the whole vid hahaha
So this is how Jay learned the word, "Korea-novela". 😁
erikailapamela hahaha! That’s why he’s like “Korean Novela!” Hahaha
Its not korean novela in korea?

@@seoulmate1360 Eyy! Finally found one! Can I add you in any social media FB, IG or Twitter?
@@doviemeloclida2200 Sure! Lets collaborate in studying!
If y'all want to be study buddies with me, we can make a kakaotalk group chat or something ^^ I'm on an intermediate level as well.
Hopefully I can visit Manila this year as I am really craving for Jollibee, Mang inasal, chowking, lechon, mango float ansd many many many more !
try some homemade food too 😊
Who else here loves Jay's videos omg they are so super interactive and fun..💜💜💜
This is awesome haha Filipinos are deff some of the friendliest people I've met
Filipinos are really friendly specially if you're a Korean because many Filipinos are either K-pop Fan or K-drama fan. Sad to think that that's not what Koreans feel with Filipinos. In Hello Counselor there's a Korean guy who's been called or bullied as Filipino because of his brown skin which are real Filipinos color. I'm definitely hurt by it but we Filipinos are beautiful and we deserve to be respected too😰
Btw, your videos are awesome!!
valid points, but saying we are beautiful is not true because many of us are FUCKING UGLY.
Filipino is very nice and they love things about korea so much..
It's good to know that you had a nice time staying here in PH. thank you for coming to PH. 😊
"is it good?"
"no sir"
HSHAHA
LMAOOO
lmao
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
Kinda like how in the US everyone knows some Spanish like hola, gracias, loco/loca, papi, chica, donde esta el baño.. etc
Jay is the cutest when he speaks in english with a korean accent 💕😭 Please come back to the Philippines! sucks i didnt get to see you 😭😭
It's really impressive how friendly you get with people. I really want to try talking to people like that but I always lose my confidence. You're really an inspiration and I really wish I can talk to people like you. 💜💜
At 6:08 more or less got7's teenager is playing

I was just there last night month. One of my fav countries to visit. Wonderful people, delicious food, and beautiful country!
You actually don’t really have to learn English as long as you know a bit you’ll survive:)
Yeah I’m from the Philippines hihi 🇵🇭💗

Jaykee 😭! You came to the philippines but I wasn't able to see you😭😭 i have been watching your videos since this year started😭😭awwww
Many Filipinos also learned Korean because of KPop and variety shows 😂💖💖💖
i was there when jaykeeout filming i saw him near at bulgogi brothers i didnt know that it was totally him.i remembered i went to venice grand canal because of the event korean festival. 😂👍👏 필리핀에 와줘서 고마워. 우리는 한국어를 너무 사랑해. 난 네가 필리핀에 갈 수 있기를 바래.
The first girl has cute pronunciation😄
I just recently watch videos from jaykeeout and I really enjoy watching it. I started to watch this show since 2019. Just today I saw this video and I was kinda wow. They are so lucky to meet him.
Well, we filipinos were known to our unique hospitality when it comes to socializing with other people. Thanks for appreciating us. Fighting!!!!
나는 필리핀을 좋아한다!!

welcome to PH! you can also try to visit Baguio City, there are alot of Koreans in Baguio!😂
Also in Cebu :)
I'm Canadian-Bulgarian and watching K-dramas over a year gave me some knowledge about Korean language and culture...if I have to count the words and phrases which I can recall-more than 200. I would love t learn more! Thanks for the app you've mentioned HiNative, btw in another video of yours!
I know the basic of some Korean words as well and I'm Filipina and I love Korea ever since I was young my biggest dream is to live there or just explore Korea with friends and eat Kimchi and other foods. I really wanna achieve my dream and I wanna learn more about the language and culture cause of how much I love it❤

Why lol
Don't be. There's a lot of shits in here.
@@pkmntrainergg77 I live in Malaysia
@@ezekiel4036 oh neighbor! You see Malaysia is a cool country too its just that Filipinos are crazyyyyy ahaha
i think Filipinos, in general, are very approachable and easy to talk to.
If I was there and finds out he's filming it I would literally say "Daebak" ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Im your new filipino subscriber.. Your nice too.. Mabuhay. Thank you for visiting philippines.

One thing I know that workers or I think every filipino always say “sir” or “maam/miss”. Something that I just noticed.
Filipino's is known as Hospitable, Jolly ,friendly and Smiling country, eventhough the situation is really hard, they always smile, and Filipino's is respectable specially to their family and older of them... And Philippines is one of the country that many churches..
See you again soon both of you and Miles hyung! You guys are so nice and I had so much fun! :D

You're an oppa! Awwiiieeee Joneeelllllll😂😂😂 Don't mind me lol ㅋㅋㅋ

The background music tho. Hello, GOT7 stans! 💚
