Okay but the fact that they are so approachable and really trying to speak to him really says a lot about them.
Those are just the people who agreed to be recorded and posted on the internet. I'm sure there were dozens more people they asked. Of course people will try to help, but this small batch of students don't represent all of Korea. I've had Koreans straight up ignore me or tell me they can't help me and just keep walking while I was lost in Korea.
No trust me they can also be racist but they are pretty nice
@@amartinez5326 fr, when i went to Korea myself last year as a foreigner, i asked some directions because i was confused and lost, absolutely nobody helped me, thank god there was a kind black dude who helped me with my stuff.
Yeah. Im a half Korean and when I came back to Korea I don't speak Korean. So when I was lost most of the people there cant even help me. I mean I think they want to help but they just cant speak english pretty well

본인이 가고 싶은 학교나 학과가 있으면 목표를 정하고 자신감을 가지세요. 근거없는 자신감은 훌륭한 추진 연료입니다.

I was lost in Busan and while crossing the street I asked a girl, in my very broken korean and then tried English, if she could tell me how to get to my destination. She didnt speak but started looking for things on her phone and kindly showed me how to get there. I managed to get back safe because of her. All this to say, the Korean people I met were so helpful and kind, even if they are not comfortable speaking they find ways to help. So 감사합니다 Busan girl, I still remember that kindness.

the guy learning french literally spoke with a perfect french accent i was shocked !!!! for having grown up with an east asian language it is really difficult to nail pronunciation for french. heck, it’s really hard for english speakers, too, and it’s much closer to french than korean is!

I find it amusing how a lot of western language native speakers are surprised at how Asian learners nail the pronunciation or accent of their language. Honestly French phonetics make more sense than English phonetics lol

솔직히 막말로 외국인이 저렇게 말을 갑자기 걸었을때 문장으로 저렇게 대답해낼수있는 사람이 여기 댓글쓰는 사람들중에서도 거의 없을걸? 보통은 패닉 걸리지 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 당빠 알아쳐듣긴 해 근데 입밖으로 안나오는게 문제겠지 서울대생들 영어못한다고 하는데 기본적인 정보가 술술 어느정도 나온다는건 영어회화 비롯 문법이 잘 갖추어져있으니 가능한거. 그리고 외국인 만났다고 지는 영어무섭다고 영어 몇십년을 배워도 도망가는게 대다수 사람들인데 도망안가고 저렇게 친절하게 가르쳐주는것 자체가 더 빛나는거지.

내 조카가 이번에 과학고 조기졸업후 서울대 갔는데 얘는 외국에 나가본적도 원어민과외 없이도 호주 나가서 영어로 대화가 되는걸 듣고 역시 천재들은 다르다는걸 느꼈습니다 물론 서울대 뿐만 아니고 탑상위권 대학 학생들도 비슷합니다 영어로 수업을 들으니 말 다했죠
기대했던것보다 영어 잘한단 느낌은 안들었지만 최선을 다해 도우려는 모습이 보기는 좋네요!

@녹차 당연한 말이지만 전부는아님. 군대에서 서울대 두명이었는데 한명은 30명 모두가 좋은사람으로 기억했지만 한명은 30명 모두가 입에 담지못할 정도로 욕나오게 하는 못된사람이었어요. 머리가 좋고 똑똑하니까 계산도 빠르고해서 항상 극한의 이기적인 행동이란 행동은 모두 선수치고 그런면이 있었어요.

This reminds me of the time I was in Seoul, Korea.
I was inside the subway station but I wasn't sure how to get to a certain location. There was no one around me, except for a girl standing for a train that's going in the opposite direction.
I gently tapped her on the shoulder, and I smiled "excuse me". She turned around and looked at me with a surprise and then smiled.
I asked her for direction in English and she spoke almost fluent English.
She spoke very softly and explained to me. I then smiled at her , thanked her. Our trains arrived, we waved goodbye to each other and
she smiled back at me one last time before going on her train.
