  • In this video I go through the steps that I use to lift/jack a C6 corvette onto Jack stands.
    C6 corvette years range from 2005 -2013
    Please work safe. Never work under a vehicle with properly securing it onto jack stands .
    Hope this video helps. If you have any more ideas or tips please leave a COMMMENT below and dontforget to SUBSCRIBE, LIKE and SHARE

    I knew it was gonna be a NY vid even before I saw the plate, lol. Narrow driveway, car cover outside. Brooklyn born and raised here-thanks for the vid.

    Dude... thank you so much. My shift cable broke and I dont have a lift. This helps me so much. I didnt want to hurt her but now I know how to lift her properly.

      The other day I cut my tire and had to leave my car in the parking lot at work, your video made taking my wheel out and to the tire shop a breeze man! Felt like a damn nascar pit crew ninja :) Went and bought a low profile jack got a piece of wood and B00M in and out! Thank YOU! I was stressing out about the chasis flex about this and that … know that YOU made me feel less of a pussy and more of a man 🙌🍻🙌

    Always found it easier to jack up front first.

    5:20 you've got a nail pointing up out of that 2X4, thankfully it didn't puncture anything!

    Very good video, thanks! Now I know what to do. I'm really scared to crawl under this damn thing because it is so low, if anything happens, byebye, that's it.

      Just to add to this vid, I use an ARCAN XL 2 Ton jack. It has a very low profile; the lowest I have found, and a very long reach. 2.75" Clearance/24" Lift Height with 32" chasis (reach). I use a hockey puck on the front passenger side lift point first. Jack high enough until my ESCO 10498 Rubber Top jack stand clears the bottom of the front right control arm. Set in place, lower jack slowly; check jack stand, lower completely. Repeat driver side. Once the front is safely and properly suspended, I move to the rear just like in this video. I use my ARCAN XL 2 Ton with a 2" block of wood with a folded over newspaper to soften the lift on the subframe. Jack it high enough to get your next set of stands under the rear control arms. Once in position, lower slowly. Check. Lower a little more to rest vehicle on the jack stands but I also leave the jack in place so there are 3-points of safety in the rear. Don't forget, some people will say to open doors, hood, and trunk so as to not stress the vehicle while being lifted unevenly. If you still feel uneasy about getting beneath the vehicle, I would suggest buying four (2 sets) of teh ESCO 14098 Jack Stands and place one each under the four jacking points along the rockers. This way, you will have 9 points of stability. A little overkill, but you have to feel safe. I was the same way until I realized that my jack stands would keep me safe. If you are not removing the wheels, you could always use Race Ramps. I would suggest the 12" high ramps. Very lightweight, but a bit expensive. Just another way of getting the vehicle high off the pavement. Good luck.

    Really should be using 2 x 10" for those cross members. Also, don't use would with nails sticking out.

    How did you jack up the car to get the 2x4 under the front tires?

    • @DirtydogMech
      @DirtydogMech  3 роки тому +1

      You can roll over them or jack one side at a time then rest it on the 2 x 4 then youll have space jack up the center

    Using the stands like that is a no no. !! The car has no grip on the puck/ stand relationship and can slide

      I made sure to center them and rock the car and I leave either the wheel it jack under nesth for extra safety. But I see what you're saying
