I at minimum take a photo of the packages I’m dropping if I don’t have time to wait in line. And I always wait when I have more expensive orders because with new ownership PM is moving in a different direction
Wow, so crazy, the same thing happened to me yesterday. She asked for a partial refund for bogus reasons. I asked for her to return the item for full refund. Poshmark sided with me for her to return the dress. All of a sudden she 'decided to keep it'. Hah! Scammer!
If I sell a higher dollar item, that's the only time I will stand in line to have it scanned in. I'd much rather have the piece of mind knowing its been scanned in and I have a receipt to prove it. I've gone to my post office at all hours of the day, so I always try and go when its the least busy so if I do have to stand in line its not for to long. However, with holidays coming up there probably won't be a not busy time except maybe right when they open. I'm glad to hear it worked out in your favor!
I can commiserate! I have had both of those situations happen. The USPS can be frustrating. I don't wait in line either because I have one post office in my town that is very busy. I drop them in the package drop-off. They don't alwways scan it the same day I drop it off and sometimes not for a few days. When I schedule a pickup at my house, the pickup gets acknowledged in an email, but it doesn't usually start scanning until the next day. If buyers aren't also sellers, they have no idea of the issues we can have!
This is why I get so nervous with higher priced sales and what is really stopping me from getting into selling designer. Especially since Poshmark is getting way more relaxed about approving bogus cases. I sold a Reiss dress full price for $179. Buyer got the item and opened a case saying it had a strong chemical smell and she has allergies, blah blah. This item was NWT and had no smell. I thought for sure they would approve it but THANKFULLY, Poshmark denied the claim but I know she only said that because she knew Posh doesn't allow returns for fit and thought she would get around it.
There are so many loopholes that buyers are finding to be able to return. But like I mentioned, out of all the years I’ve been selling on poshmark, low ticket and higher priced items, this was the first time something like this happened. So I wouldn’t let it scare you off from designer all together!
I hate that we don't get to rate the buyers! And all ratings should show up too, good and bad. Not much of a system if we can't see the bad too. Everyone just looks like they get no bad ratings. I personally don't like it. And if people do it's probably because they get a lot of bad comments.
I have had both of these things happen to me as well. I have gotten lucky a couple of times with the buyer being honest and letting me know they received the item. I agree it's a pain in the butt to stand in line. I am lucky enough to have a great postman and he picks up my packages but I agree for high dollar sells you should get a receipt.
It sucks that people try and advantage of people on Poshmark and other sites.!I always get items scanned at the post office because people are unpredictable. Yes, it takes more time but for safety I do. It’s terrible how people find new ways to scam.
I used to date a guy that worked at the post office and he definitely told me that even post office people are known for stealing packages! So yes, always scan your prepaid items at the kiosk inside before you drop it in the box Or…. Wait in line to have one of those people at the counter scan in your box. Keep the receipt ! At the very least at that point, the post office becomes liable for I believe up to $100 if you do not have something insured If you do sell items that are expensive, you should definitely be so that you could receive more than $100 back for your lost or damaged item
Someone literally did this EXACT thing to me with a pair of Sorel boots (except I got the same boots back). She ripped the soles out, claimed they smelled disgusting and that she left them outside in the elements because they couldn’t be left in her house with the strong smell and posh approved the return! She admitted to damaging my boots and they approved it! The boots were brand new and there was no scent to them whatsoever! I was furious! When I got them back I told Posh that she returned them without the insoles, even though I did get them lol ( I was a little spiteful after her being such a nightmare). They paid me out for the full amount (and refunded her 😝). I ended up selling them again a few months later for full price and got a 5 star review. Unreal.
I just had a similar situation. Someone purchased a sweater. I had measurements included in my listing. 2 days after they received it, they opened a case saying that it was too small. She sent poshmark the measurements she had, which were 6 inches smaller than what i had sent out! Poshmark approved the case, and i was pissed too! I got the item back, and it was freaking shrunk, so i showed the pics to poshmark, and they credited me $15. like ok great, thanks. Very upsetting. idk what is going on lately.
Sorry for what you went through and I agree my last 3 to 4 sales have been really weird people are not opening up cases but when I ship they are just mailing the package back to me and one person reported to Poshmark that I never sent the item because they never received it but I have the receipt I hav been saving the ship receipts because this happened on Mercari as well so I save them to show proof and I am also taking pictures with time stamps before I ship in case they do open a case I have only had two since I have been on the app grateful for that but I agree that weird things are happening on the app and the scammers are increasing a lady even tried to con me on an offer where I would get no profit so I blocked her as well but definitely look out thank you for the video and sharing your story 🙏🏽💖 sending love light blessings
I have noticed the same for my local USPS, but its when I do a scheduled pickup it will take a few days to start tracking. If I take it and drop it off it shows up that day. I love my local USPS, I think they are short staffed right now.
I wish I watched this sooner! I’m so sorry this happened to you! So annoying. She’s not on poshmark anymore. I must find her now lol. Really hate shady scammers.. get a life
I've had two cases recently where the buyer claimed i did not ship something in their bundle. That's not true cause i have my system down and the interesting thing is that i have multiple quantities of these items in my Poshmark closet. Noone else had bought those items from any platform and i only bought two so i find this interesting and must be a new scam
Just wanted to say that i dropped pacakages at our post office at the thr same time. What was interesting is that Posh sent me two "item has started" notifications late that night, and one four hours later. Yet when i checked the tracking all three packages had been acceptance scanned at the USPS at the same time and were already well through the Portland depot by the time Posh notified me they had shipped. I think the two systems are definitely not integrated properly :-(
I bet she got a full refund. Poshmark doesn't seem to offer any defense against stopping these kind of buyers. I guess their 20% commission covers this though. Does your post office have a self-service kiosk? You can get a receipt from the kiosk.
Thanks for posting this and warning us. I am selling my own extra stuff at home at Posh and Ebay. Just recently trying to explore Mercari as well, but first sale I got an unreasonable customer and ended up I have to take the lost. I believe she wasn't happy with the item she ordered and damaged it and claimed that I sent out a damaged item and asked for return and refund. This is the first time happened to me since I started selling my stuff online for 2 years now. I know I don't have proof but only to take the loss. That actually stops me from selling on Mercari now as Posh and Ebay are treating me ok, I don't need to reach out to take the unreasonable no question returns on Mercari and even worse encounter a customer like that. From now on(after seeing your video here and my own experience), I am thinking I will learn from that experience and take pictures or video when I pack my items so that the dates would be shown on those pics as proof that my item was in perfect condition as described. I don't sell a lot so I am ok of doing so, I cannot imagine big sellers who have 100s sales every day to be doing that. Just hope people have more decency.
It's not ok that she was dishonest in opening up a case, but you shouldn't have told her that you would ship that day and not ship for 3 days. She obviously was expecting them sooner.
I 100% agree with what you’re saying. Idk why I said that in the video because I didn’t actually say that to her (I just checked on our bundle) I think it’s just habit cause that’s typically what I do say. Totally my bad!
Came here to say the same thing. When she said she told the buyer, well you should have told me you needed it within a time frame, I was like.... why would she need to tell you that when you said you would ship the same day.
@@nicolettehyman8754 Like I mentioned in the previous comment, I wish I could retract that statement. It's what I typically say to my customers when I send offers, but it was a weekend when the po was closed so I didn't actually tell the customer that. It just slipped out!
Nothing came up on Posh for me when searching her username, so she either deleted her account or Posh did. I hope she can’t do that on Posh to anyone ever again. How terrible!
I got scammed with shoes too. Poshmark refunded them though. Because I put stock photos. That was my mistake, but they were brand new never worn that I couldn’t return to Nike because the return window was closed.
Great information and unbelievable that Poshmark doesn't have your back with your selling history and a potential scammer. I am hooked on your content , I've had a consignment store in the past and have helped newbies start up their business can't wait to see your future vids
I live in a very small town with only 4 hours a day that the post office is open. Last week two of mine were found in garbage inside post office. Both people working there pointed fingers at each other. I elevated complaint and all their boss said was did I catch them red handed? Wtf?? I don't work there!
I have all my packages scan for peace of mind. I know the general times when the post office is slower. I use all the usps packaging if i have to use a box not usps box i have the tape for priority tape.
Photograph everything. The biggest scam is stating something was not included. Two separate buyers contacted me to say items are missing. I said ok well when you submit a case I will upload photos on my end. #1 person stated they didn't want to cause me trouble with poshmark. Hmm I said no problem. So I think she was trying to get a partial refund. #2 person stated she didn't get items in the box. Also trying to get a partial refund. Both ended up accepting the order. But tried to drag me with a 2 star review and negative comments.
I had a similar issue with a package that wasn't scanned lately, and ever since then I stand in line to get a receipt. It's not the most convenient thing (but I also sell on eBay so I sometimes have to pay to ship stuff anyway), but the piece of mind is definitely worth it.
At the office don't always track if they are busy. They won't Scan everything but it should get scared that night when it goes to the main office but yes I've seen where it does where it can get lost in the mail without being shipped you never know where it's going to be
People can be just AWFUL. Anyone placing any sort of blame on you for this is just BS. You’re an honest seller, honest person and it really sucks that so many people just care about society as a whole. I mean what if everybody were dishonest?
If it's scanned delivered when you shipped them, the carrier scanned them with the scanner in the wrong mode. They USED to keep scanning, even after delivered. But my carrier just did that a week ago, and neither got another scan after that. Both buyers opened cases, but they both closed them when it arrived, thankfully. Priority is priority, the packaging doesn't matter. I have heard of some POs pushing PM items back because that PO doesn't like that we get Proprietary labels that don't go along with all USPS packaging. But haven't heard that since DeJoy started at the USPS, so what.. 2018-2020 era?
Hi I am a new posher : Do you actually put the price you paid for the item even if it’s low . Then put the retail price you want for the item when you are listing
I have only sold on Poshmark for 3 months and they allowed a buyer to scam me. They knew I wouldn't take returns so they said my jeans were not as described. Poshmark sided with them even though you could see they cut my jeans on the leg openings. I asked poshmark about this and they still sided with the buyer even though I sent pictures of the destroyed jeans I received!
Came here looking for info on why this one sale is making me so nervous..this account belongs to someone who has been a member of pm since 2021...but she has NOTHING on her about me page..no "welcome to pm" comments, no listing/sales or purchases/ratings. So, my account has been quiet forever..but out of the blue i had an offer on a nwt a&fitch dress..it was a low ball offer so I countered..but the next day, another whole different ass person bought it full price..am i being paranoid..lol..she has no pic & her name on pm is not really a name.. anyway, I subbed..I also never get my packages scanned in...usually have them picked up at home but will definitely be rethinking this one!
The user name can be helpful but knowing the buyers shipping name is more helpful. This EXACT scenario just happened to me this week for an item that sold for over $250 and I am freaking out about it! If we have the same buyer, it would help my case and everyone else she is scamming. Ugh, this stinks!
There are 80 million users on poshmark, I think it’s highly unlikely they’d be the same person. And unfortunately this persons account was deleted after this incident and I didn’t save their personal info. I’m also not comfortable blasting someone’s personal name and shipping info on the internet 😅
I’ve purchased and sold hundreds of items on poshmark and have had maybe 5 nightmare situations. This one was definitely the worst, but it still ended up just fine!
People need to understand we are buying second hand and new and most of us this is how we make a living I went from owning a business to now being a Poshmark seller when I bought from sellers it hurts me to send them offers because we all need money then we have people that are cheap want it free and still make a case like why what’s wrong with you and how sick of people they probably had same model as yours and wanted yours to swap it out Poshmark isn’t the same there’s a lot of people buying under 500$ and are getting fake and I’m finding out thank goodness for internet the idasity people buy from DHgate fake LV Makeup trying to sale on posh for 450
U told her you would ship same day on Saturday, then u didn't ship till Tuesday. Does not excuse the theft, but lets all be honest about shipping times.
I responded to a couple other comments that said this. When looking back at my interaction with the customer I never actually said I’d ship it the same day (I have receipts lol). But you’re right. If I said that, I should have done that. I think in the moment when I was filming this video my brain just went on autopilot and said what I’d normally say. But I never actually promised her a shipping time
When Poshmark first started, it was great... but as usual.. scamming takes over, customer service plummets... and Poshmark will protect what makes them money... they really suck now.... I noticed my items stopped selling... no bad reviews, no problems on my end... but what I realized is that if you dont pay for "promoted closet" your stuff doesn't even get seen.... I only sell on the side, I don't do it full time like you do.. but shouldn't my stuff get as much exposure as everyone else? NO. Seems you have to pay a monthly fee on top of everything they keep from your sales.... it's just not worth it anymore... I going to sell to my local high end consignment store... we have plenty of them around here and I like supporting my community and small business.... I hope this doesn't happen to you again.
I’m a few minutes in and I’m guessing poshmark sided with the buyer. I have had a few buyers that had buyers remorse and poshmark instantly sided with them for reasons that are not covered by poshmark as return approvals but yup that’s what happened I hope your story ends better than mine from September
Ive already replied to this comment. It was a slip of the tongue in the video. I didn’t actually say that to her. I looked through my conversation with her on poshmark.
I don’t know if someone else noticed she shipped back the random just with a ebay tape. That being said, it’s a ebay seller…… I hate this people.
I noticed that when I was editing the video!!!!!
But the tape they used to tape it up??
SAW THAT! WHAT A b!!!

There are 80 million users on poshmark, I think it’s highly unlikely they’d be the same person. And unfortunately this persons account was deleted after this incident and I didn’t save their personal info. I’m also not comfortable blasting someone’s personal name and shipping info on the internet 😅
How long ago did this happen ? I hate people who scam like that!!!
Just a couple weeks ago!
As a buyer or a seller you gotta be careful. I bought something from Pash mark. I hope it'll be fine.
I got scammed at Poshmark. Luckily I got my money back. I will never buy from Poshmark again!
Nooo! Not all sellers are scammers! Don’t let one person ruin it for you!
I’m a few minutes in and I’m guessing poshmark sided with the buyer. I have had a few buyers that had buyers remorse and poshmark instantly sided with them for reasons that are not covered by poshmark as return approvals but yup that’s what happened I hope your story ends better than mine from September
An she has ebay store
Yo, drop the F bomb love it, the passion I’m with you too. I’m a subscriber now.
You do have her name and mailing address, right? Just saying.
I’m not sure what i would do with that though. There’s no point retaliating.
Wait, you offered her same-day shipping and then didn't ship for a couple of days, Technically you were honest either.
Ive already replied to this comment. It was a slip of the tongue in the video. I didn’t actually say that to her. I looked through my conversation with her on poshmark.
100% but she’s not obligated to ship same day or up until the 7 day mark reaches. She’s still a scammer and the buyer knew she was in the wrong.
I’m tryna be ya man real rap
