Fresh ones will be like any other economy wise within a week and they'll be dead once the streamers leave and move on again.
as someone who has been playing on defias-pillager ever since HC official launched, I would welcome a fresh server. Sure, it wont last forever, its more like a "season" in diablo, where a bunch of people come back for a few weeks or months and then quit when they hype dies down. But that is still a lot of fun for the time its hyped.
and when the short term rush ends, I will just continue playing on defias pillager

blizzard are horrible with their timing, fresh HC way too soon. Just release era fresh. Hardcore is always fresh, there are like 4-5 new guilds on my server doing all the content starting with MC currently
yea i agree, esspecially with sod phases and classic phase releases..
I agree with era fresh first but what you said about hardcore is hard cope. 3/4 of the people are starting lvl 1 characters with white weapons that have fiery on them and it just amps up from there. I felt like the odd man out being new to hardcore on a regular toon that wasn’t solo self found because everyone else already had 2 level 60s to feed their low level toons and max their professions without farming a single node. It was a joke

Tbc sucked. You all just liked the story, but objectively the game sucked. Balancing was bad, arena was bad for pvp, flying was bad for open world, increasing level cap and endless power creep was a flawed game design, making all old content irrelevant was bad game design. Everything that wasn't vanilla sucked.
My ideal:
Fresh Vanilla
Forced faction balance
No layering
Boosting banned (Just crank the xp penalty for having higher levels in your party)
They hire even one GM that periodically scans through instances to perma-ban bots on sight.
And gdkp banned

For classic I wish they would be rolling Vanilla - TBC - WotLK then it resets and all current characters get moved to a perm WotLK server

Fresh HC is silly, and dividing the limited players. Many peeps have been grinding up the lvls (repeatedly) and the plan is to take the limited number of people and divide them to new servers? Jeez… I’ve been grinding a nude Ironman warlock for nearly a year and am up to 40th. People in Stormwind applaud when they see my trials. Many others playing normally move slowly as well and blizzard is going to make us play in an empty server?
No one applaudes you in Stomrwind. You play for yourself and you enjoy it. I get it. Don't start believing your own lies though. They're lies for a reason.

What i really hope they will do at some point, and they are kinda leaning that way with the introduction of warbands. Is a total rework of the current server and game engine. To make it simple. You log in and get a selection of your charachters. Then after selecting the character you can choose what version of the game you want to play. Say your guild and friends want to do 6 months of tbc, then you play that. Your progression on tbc gets saved, so if you a year or two later want to go back in to tbc you can. This can be paired with seasonal challenges from blizzard side, say one year of warlords of dreanor at super fast progression, with a ladder system for pvp and pve. Or a road to the lich king event, starting at Vanilla and one year later ending at lich king. You can partake in the challenges if you want. so the race to world first ppl have something to aim at, or you can do you in the expansion you love.
This is a long way ahead i think, but at the end of the worldsoul saga, it would be a good ending to a great game. Being able to log in on my first char ever currently sitting with legion gear, to go back to vanilla and finnish the things i never did with that char. And at the same time knowing it will remain as a legacy version of wow, would be the best thing ever.
Just combine hc severs its a small community that still plays daily, a new hardcore sever is gonna do more damage to hc than anything. Feels like it is just to feed into streamers not the ones who religiously plays it

Just like i noped out of blizzard games after mid original cataclysm, i also dont buy into any of the retail or sod nonsense bad games.. It's terrible design and i can play for years abnd years in any version of the game just doing what the fuck i want. I played classic era and tbc and a little wotlk but then i realized it was just blizzard started the hamsterwheel up again and will force progress you to cata so noped out there too. What i want to see is a permanent tbc and wotlk server. And ability to upgrade expansions for your character at will.
I for one am pumped for HC fresh :3 I know people still play the old servers but I just really enjoy when everyone starts at the same time, makes for a exciting experience. It's like a fresh PoE season launch
As long as mas report exists, and either auto-ban or a punk who sits and presses a button who does not care about this job, I will never touch this dogshit.
If they do a HC fresh without a era fresh cycle I will just not return to classic after getting tired of the new m+ season.

ive been wanting to get into Era for a while now but its impossible to get into it because the only active server is whitemane, the price of everything is hyperinflated, everyone is already geared so getting raid spots without paying for it is impossible, pvp is limited by population size, layering doesnt exist ETC.. atleast its not too hard to get a dungeon group together and there are always people leveling, but the endgame is prohibitively gated
fresh era would make it so easy to get back into classic, fresh economy, a new race to 60, a new race to 8 week pvp rank 14, a new server first raid wave, raid speed runs completely reset, consumable market completely reset, bots completely wiped out for a month or two
all crafting recipes (crusader, lionheart, titanic etc) all reset fresh and rare again -- everyone trying to get thuderfury and hand of rag again

A TBC>>WOTLK progression system would be great. Maybe a TBC era and WOTLK era that let you transfer to progress at your own time.
When classic started i was so sure this was the longer term vision, that eventually we had classic servers of all expansions and you can transfer to the next expansion when you choose.
I'd be curious about the actual numbers of tbc wishes. I'd love another run of fresh era that goes on for 2 years before moving on if at all. Last time i had 2 geared 60s and didn't even get to do a lot of pvp at the end because tbc came "too fast". And i played a lot more back then than i could right now, so it would be nice to have some time on a fresh classic server because i will stop with tbc since i'm usually tired of it before even hitting 70

i play wow and osrs on my second screen, since its a semi afk game for what im doing currently like woodcutting etc. its easy to do but they do it right, they let people vote on content wich is the best way.
I think we hype fresh too much even if that is what I personally want.. remember its Blizzard.. I worried HC get a new server only for Self Found player tbh..
Why does blizz refuse to integrate hardcore into classic servers? Like OSRS has HC, SSF and normal characters together. Like make goblin tech not work in cities, why do they need separate servers?
They cant just do fresh vanilla. People allready did that twice. Instead they should do new gfx engine and old content. If no new gfx they have to build on something after naxx and not do tbc. All new content after naxx with vanilla mechanics.

No one has asked for fresh HC, there's 0 need for it. What most people want is TBC, i just want HC to stay intact.
Take classic tbc and wrath and make it 1 big mega mix as the classic experince all end games of each scaled to 80. have a dungeon finder/ raid finder. for classic and tbc. and have wraith content as your hard content. scale classic and tbc raids for raid finder 10 man and personal loot. wraith will play like classic and be 5 iteam levels higher. and when you got this up and running after 2 years move all retails classsic content off it to megamix server. your transmogs and mounts. and clean up reatial. so you have a wow 1 eperince.
All you have to do for fresh hardcore is kill off the geared characters. Get rid of Petri, in fact, make it so you have to finish the dungeon/raid or you die. These people are supposedly "hardcore" so stop babying them.
If you feed blizzard anymore money you deserve the garbage they will regurgitate into your mouth....some people never learn.

They made a ton of good changes in SoD, but they took their sweet time to implement a lot of them. Once again the economy was completely broken by gold sellers and bots. I really want to see fresh era with better bot control and all the changes implemented from day one (such as dual spec and instant mail etc).
Imagine if instead of making 16 expansions they actually focused effort and made something good.
I feel like after the initial hardcore release people started asking for fresh era even louder. Hardcore is mostly about the journey to lvl 60. A lot of people had tons of fun leveling up but don't want to deal with the massive stress of the endgame content on hardcore. If you think about it from that angle it would make sense. Release a fresh Hardcore server get the people hooked again and release a fresh era a while after.
Classic has the same Copium as Gojo fans from jjk (including me on both groups)
why would people want to do fresh classic tbc wrath all in a time span of 1-2 years over and over again? why not ask for what osrs does with polls or something similar?

This is my (obvious) solution for Classic:
1. Have a Vanilla Era server.
2. Have a TBC Era server.
3. Have a WOTLK Era server.
4. Have a rolling server that does all 3 over and over, in a 3 to 4 years cycle.

There is a huge community that wants classic WOW plus of some kind. Why not just copy what OSRS has done? OSRS and classic WOW are literally in the same era and age group of gamers. They literally just need to the same thing in classic WOW. Season of Discovery is cool, and I think in the future it could become a type of classic WOW plus. Though the longevity of end game content in classic WOW just isn't quite there to keep it a sustainable thing like in OSRS. There will always be people wanting hardcore/snowflake ironman type of accounts an a wow classic plus could cater to that as well. Literally just copy OSRS!@!@

Highly recommend OSRS. I THINK the best way for you to get into it would be doing a group ironman with a few friends/streamers and one of those people should be semi-knowledgeable about osrs. People either find the exploration of the game super fun or kinda overwhelming so having friends and someone with a little knowledge to guide you would be great.
I want MoP purely for nostalgia, it was my favourite expac because I was at the best place in my life for it, and if they dont let me play my destro warlock I will prob quit wow forever tbh
Mop is likely coming in a year or two, I get the feeling their taking cata through all expansions eventually.
What they should do is release a new HC server with no trading even at 60. (Can still trade conjured items) But also make it to where you can learn every profession on the same character at the same time.

They will hopefully kill 2 birds with one stone. Fresh era with hardcore option. Of your character dies when HC is enabled, it gets deleted. The hc char can only trade and group with other hc characters. Knowing Blizzard though they probably will only turn the hc char into a normal char at death. With a debuff of shame or something like that. But you would get fresh vanilla and fresh era.

Pretty sure this is incorrect, i think it's closer to around 100thousand for classic wow. Looking it up i found a site estimating 81k for wow classic per day monthly for players. The 17k you got is from the raiding logs most likely, but not everyone raids so its a bit of bad data and just useful to get a rough estimate for server pops.
So while yes it is still relatively low it's a lot higher than what your saying.
But yeah those numbers your using only take characters who raided during that time, their the numbers from ironforge website which only uses raid data to estimate population in other words its faulty data, only blizzard has the real data and they don't release it ever since their numbers started dropping rapidly years ago for accounts.
