I quit playing WoW like 10 years ago, after having played it since the beta. My life isn't any better, I'm still a loser, but hey, at least I saved like $2000 over the last ten years not paying subscription fees.
To be fair, you didn't actually waste much money if you actually played for most of your sub. People like to rip on MMO subs, but WoW is one of the most cost-effective forms of entertainment out there. It's only a bad thing if it makes you into an actual shutin NEET at the cost of your financial security and physical health. In which case you have much more important problems to cover than just playing WoW.
WOW used to be quite literally life changing. Not in a good way, but it spoke volumes about how good it was. People destroyed their own lives to play it. Ruined relationship, lost jobs, never left the house. Now it's very easy to quit and stay away from. Nostalgia is the only reason to go back, just to be disappointed
Mythic raiders and Arena players destroy their lives much more than people did in a casual MMO in the past. You can't even excel in the two things unless you have a caregiver or break the TOS selling carries for money. Something every arena pro has been caught doing and that Limit did before they became the new shill guild after Method Josh did what he did.
@@hackintosh3899 That is a VERY small percentage of the playerbase... meanwhile back in 2004 it was on the TV that WoW is destroying the next generation and people had to send their loved ones to rehab lol.
People still do this. I know several new players that started between BfA and Shadowlands that still play to this day WAY more than they should. It just doesn't happen nearly as often, I suppose.
True I still remember those wow player irl videos, rping like a rogue irl or something like that, it was pretty funny. I even heard irl true stories from friends of it happening, not so funny but amusing nonetheless.
good world pvp is the old forts you'd capture in outlands in most of the zones, its entirely optional, you aren't flagged if you dont participate, and there is incentive to participate
Exactly. Look at any beloved game from 10-20 years ago, and then look at where the people who made those games are now? 99% of the time they are no longer in that studio and have been replaced with people that don't have the same vision.
I feel like this is a common theme with Blizzard games in general. The games are so close to being great, but for whatever reason, the devs can't pull their head out of their ass to solve the most glaring issues causing players to have negative experiences. Overwatch, Diablo, and WoW all seem to suffer from this.
WoW at launch was the perfect game. The art, the setting, the swelling music, the extreme high you get from exploring each new place. The extreme, well thought out diversity of characters, cities, settings, tones and moods. It's impossible to go back there, not even if you restore WoW to classic and have kids play it who never played it before. It's a singular time in history.
I started, but then I saw the movement was weird. Like you don’t strafe with A and D keys… and also you have to hold the mouse key to look around. I quit 15 mins later lol.
No other company will make a MMO without a cash shop because it would require a $25+/month fee with a three-month minimum. There's a reason D4 is free to play online after you purchase the expansion without a monthly sub.
The barrier to entry problem exists because the steps that players used to climb are gone.. all that's left is a 100ft wall. WoW content path goes like this.. Braindead -> Braindead -> Braindead -> Braindead -> Braindead -> PHD Required.

@@jethrodark2372It’s way different in a multi player game. In a game like Elden ring you can eventually get good. In WoW there’s always one guy who doesn’t know what they’re doing and it’s usually a different guy every time.
Modern games are designed to make players feel powerful and be addicted as soon as possible. Think about it… visual, auditive pleasing, easy content, lots of rewards for all kinds of meaningless actions. In the last 10 years gaming evolved to gambling games with extra steppes.
blizzard has a bad habit of firing all their good devs. Shetty executives, bad CEOs, firing of creative directors, AND blizzard backstabbed the chinese devs who made dragonflight. All the dev community knows blizzard is crap, so whom ever does get signed on just milks blizzard dry because being signed to blizzard is a ded end...So essentially blizzards own greed is responsible for their demise. They bit their own toe... how shocking....
WoW is less a roleplaying game today, more an arcadey treadmill. Blizzard has no intentions to keep you in the open world. They even advertise WoW's new Delve feature as "the ultimate singleplayer experience". The open world in TWW is just a meaningless shell for WoW's other core features, M+/Raids/PvP/Delves. Truth is, everyone knows this since years and everyone knows what they get into. there is so much more potential ..
I am older now, married, and have a kid, and I've been playing for 20 years. I don't have time to enjoy the open world like I used to. These instanced activities are exactly what I need in a game, and I'm not alone.
I remember many years ago, during Wrath, I believe, I played on Spinebreaker US, I was being a scumbag Horde ganking lowbies in Duskwood, and met up with two other guys that were doing the same, and we partied together. We were hanging out outside of Darkshire when an alliance ret pally jumped us and killed all three of us 1v3. The other two guys rezzed back up immediately and attacked him again and he promptly demolished the two of them again, and they both ragequit and logged off. Being the stubborn guy I was, I wanted to 1v1 him without him getting the jump on me, so I healed back up to full and fought him. I was a mage, but I was in arcane spec, and it was an extremely even fight between the two of us. He was really geared and knew what he was doing, and knew how to time my cooldowns, etc, so this was no easy fight even for a mage. The two of us battled it out for an entire half hour without either of us dying, and as I tried to kite him, our battle spanned across the outskirts of Darkshire, and eventually led us into Deadwind Pass. We were fighting on the bridge, and that shit was cinematic, it was straight out of like Lord of the Rings or something. He must have bubbled a dozen times, and I must have iceblocked a dozen times also, that's just how long the fight lasted. Eventually one of us won (I honestly don't remember, which is crazy, you'd think I'd remember something like that) and it was one of my favorite gaming moments of my life. Throughout the years, whenever I'd see him out in the wild, I'd /yell out his name and immediately attack him, this guy was the definition of "on sight" lol. I remember seeing him in multiple expansions, and fighting him while we were both in the middle of leveling to the next level cap, he was literally my Gary Oak (or maybe I was his).
So many memories like this, I used to have a book of grudges I'd add people to if they killed me while levelling and they became on sight no matter what 😂
WoW was too expensive for me as a kid. I remember begging my parents to let me play but instead they bought me Age of Empires 2 which I still play to this day and I have 0 complaints about the game
I Quit WoW last December after 18 years of playing and it was the best decision of my life so far my biggest regret is the amount of money I wasted on it because I got a problem and can't control myself when spending and I have a perfectionist OCD shit and always wanted the class to suit the race and the name to be as good and unique as possible so I spent a lot on those damn services!
"The problem is the game is designed for the bottom lowest 10% and top end 10% of players. It leaves out the 80% population in the middle ground to be left with a watered down experience that doesn't mean anything." - Asmongold. VERY WELL SAID
Not really. Majority of players play looking towards the top end (it's human nature). Asmon has literally spent dozens of hours complaining about media that is made for everyone rather than a specific group. Designing the game for a group is not a problem and it's especially evident when people within that group are quitting the game... lol. The problem is simply bad game design.
Its not, its easy to say that given the limited knowledge each human can have over others. If one streamer says something, and 1000 comments seems to agree with the streamer. People tend to think "ok this is the way" Not lets be logical alright. This video for example, it has 130k views. and 2k comments. Half of the comments are agreeing with asmongold. Other half dont. Imagine the sheer number of people not agreeing. Not one single person in either my friends AOTC guild, or in my CE guild agrees with asmonds meanings, hes been a meme since the start and to us "normal" people. Do i get that people cheer for him? 100%. People love Andrew Tate, and halv of the US loves trump. We "normal" people dont blame people for thinking like that either. People are different, but people are also stupid, they dont have their own opinions and are uncapable of trying something for their own sake. Influencers are ofc the root of the problem..They have the voice with thousands behind them. But rarely noone speaks for general population of us "normal" people that doesnt say shit out here in the world. And guess what..The "normal" people are just 50% of the people.. ( sadly)
My favorite example of "mistakes in WoW classic making it better" is the presence of areas like Deadwind Pass.. It's a zone that was supposed to contain a raid that didn't make it until years and years later, that serves almost no purpose in Vanilla because most of it's content was cut, and that has almost no functional use..and exactly because of it's emptiness, it's presence alone made it so memorable, due to how odd it's presence was. Made it feel like how in the real world many places do not have a true purpose. They are just leftover bits of previous times, that we have to speculate about. While this is something that is extremely hard to do on purpose (adding random zones with nothing in it in a game would just be a bad idea) somehow worked perfectly in WoW vanilla, and it worked by pure accident. Uldum's gate..Grim Batol..Karazhan's tower..they all added so much mystique, they were some of my favorite memories of the entire game. (no rose tinted goggles btw...didn't play WoW growing up, only started on a private server in 2017-2018)
The only reason I went there during Vanilla wow was to farm boe equipment and runecloth from the ogres to help level my wife's enchanting and tailoring. The fact it was dead 98 percent of the time made it a great farming spot
Nice gaslighting yourself into believing cut content makes the game much better. Vanilla wow shouldve stayed back in the past. After playing through classic era, theres too many flaws that hinder the game and im able to see what a farce the game is without nostalgia blinders.
On mounts, i think the ffxiv model is a good compromise. You have to do an area the first time on ground mounts. But then you can collect the currents that give you flying ability, usually well-timed to be around the time youve completed the main quest in an area. It forces you to interact with the ground environment but also offers you the ability to skip the crap on repeated visits.
the FFXIV model is a better compromise, but it's still way weaker than how we had it in vanilla. Having to ride to your destination, seeing other players, and having to avoid dangerous monsters in the world is just so much better and engaging than flying(teleporting) to a coordinate..
That's the thing, you don't have to "skip the crap" if it's fun everytime you visit the zone. Flying is a band-aid solution to a real problem of boring overworld gameplay
As a FFXIV the "aether current" system is one the things I hate about it the most. I just wanna be able to fly the flying mount that I got straight off the bat. Having to go around and collect a billion currents just to be able to fly around is annoying
The question you need to ask yourself with every single game "why would I play this game ?" So, ask yourself "why should I play WoW ?" Then follow that up with "why should I play WoW instead of that other game ?" And you will know how you feel about the game.
57:00 "I was able to go directly into sunwell with brutal gear/it was on par with black temple gear" Bro the video is on your channel. You went into Sunwell in the wrath prepatch which alone made chars so insanely OP for tbc content. You had a raid of brutal gear and your sunwell took over 7 hours to clear. You have a bad memory.
doesn't that prove his point? he and a raid full of people in shitty brutal glad gear who probably freshly boosted their character, hadn't played in several tiers, maybe even hadn't set foot in SWP or were rerolling a new alt and spent 3 hours pvping for glad gear went in to the HARDEST tbc content and completed it? even if it took a long time to do, you compare that to the first time most people walked into sunwell and couldn't clear a single trash pack. nothing he said was wrong, he didn't say they full cleared it in record speed, he said he hadn't raided since tier 4 and still went in and did it because of the wellfare pvp epics.
@@minzo7802It was hard to play it like we play now, you were forced to pick and choose targets, to play carefully. Then the enemy faction lurked everywhere, it was scary, and the pvp definitely made the game far greater. In a way it was definitely hard
@@minzo7802 there's always some dick stroker that has to point out that content isn't hard. i said it's the hardest in TBC, yes if you were a retail raider it was a joke. for the average dad that's so known for playing classic it was quite hard on top of being a major gear check for bosses like brutalis. it was the least cleared raid in TBC by a mile and actually did require people to have their hands on the keyboard and press buttons or you'd wipe the raid.
The way people get mad about players who no longer play WoW, because they talk about why they don't enjoy WoW, is the same mentality as people who think you can't talk about meth being bad if you're not actively smoking meth.
well in case of quin it might be the case because he wasnt playing active wow already at that time and then he "quits" tww in the first week before season even began this has the smell of just shittalking to it. togenerate views and therefore money.
For me the biggest thing that changed... I've played since release. I've played hardcore in 3 expansions plus vanilla. The thing that killed WoW (still playing today) but the game feels emotionless to me. Server mergers or sharding. When a server meant something. It creates a community. Oh so and so got this item I saw him in Ironforge. You saw a guild or player had a reputation. Just like in this video, you fly direct to X. I remember the journey of trying to get to Dire Maul. The Journey doesn't mean any more. The journey to getting max level, man I wanna work towards getting into that guild. I remember the cross realm aspect is needed. But it should merge x servers to 1 server to make it high pop.
The Internet changed bro. Social media and even UA-cam were in their infant stage and WoW and MMORPGS in general were our unique way to socialize and form a community online. Servers were an ecosystem that's true, but you can't really emulate that unless you get a time machine. Sadly you can't make a mega server either. The game engine is outdated and ISP speed over the world is still dogshit. 500 people in Silithus doing the AQ gates opening event apparently will still blow up the servers in 2020
I don't know if it's a combined server thing, more of a Raid Finder issue. As well as professions and or even tough world bosses that required groups. There was a huge benefit to being part of an active guild. It built a community. There were officers and such, meetings and so on, because it was necessary. And don't listen to the guy talking about a "time machine", he has no idea what he's talking about. If you jump on a private server TODAY, they still do things like they used to, because it's necessary. The only real difference is- instead of using Vent they use Discord. Almost identical otherwise. And I've played since Wrath.
@@lebronzejames8693yup. People are so fucking stupid complaining that the world isnt what it was 20 years ago man. Wow wasnt even half as good back then either its just that it offered a unique experience socially at the time. Times are infinitely different now
I think the missed reason for games doing 3 day early access is actually because of Fomo. Devs know spoilers will be everywhere for those 3 days and the hype of everyone going in together blind is ruined as there will be 50 videos out trying to spoil you with their thumbnails while you're stuck waiting 3 more days, fearmongering and fomo baiting you into getting the pricier edition or pre-ordering
To be fair it was not really FOMO unless you wanted to grind gold. Everything was already spoiled with the beta with info posted all over. All the content worth doing outside of questing is locked for another two weeks. There was no real reason to rush. It's still not a good system for the players though, unless it helped with lag as I had none outside of a few short moments this last week then it has no benefit for us.
Judging by the abysmal viewership (DF had 800k on Twitch at launch, WW had 180k) of the game currently I think the devs didn't take into account the other option they force on players there. "Oh spoilers? oh I can't play with everyone on launch? my hype and excitement is gone, im out."
the reason for early access is simple server issues, wow, ffxiv and so on servers can barely handle early access numbers, let alone having a global launch.
yeah that used to be me. if wow was a game where you could just level up and then jump into some raid stuff with friends it’d be fine but unfortunately it requires like 20-40 hours a week of practice and prep to keep up and its just too much it’s basically a second job.
WoW still feels good to play... controls, game mechanics and atmosphere always felt great. But man i dont remember the last time i had fun playing endgame content.
Early access used to mean: We can only print so many games at launch. Pre order deluxe edition to guarantee a copy ships reserved for you. Now in the digital era it just mean goblins are greedy
20:12 Agreed, but I have a different take. I grew up playing EverQuest. In EverQuest, there were no instanced dungeons. That was a *bad* thing. Why? Because the top end guild on whatever server you were playing on would lock all other players out of top level content. Dragons and gods spawned once a week. They would ensure that they would always get the kills, and so they were the only ones that got the end game loot and content. World of Warcraft fixed this by instancing all end game content. Now everyone can experience end game dungeons. But vanilla WoW suffered from a problem that EverQuest also suffered from: it took too long to commit to doing dungeon content. So WoW added the ability to queue up for instances, and suddenly you had more people running dungeons. This is a good thing. What's not a good thing is that Blizzard hasn't done jack shit to improve the open world gameplay since fucking Vanilla. World quests do not fix this. The handful of world raid bosses do not fix this. If they want to fix this, they need to look at Guild Wars 2. At the dead Warhammer Online. At FF14. Public events get people moving around and playing together in the open world, and it's damn ridiculous that Blizzard hasn't implemented some version of this into WoW. I f you want people running around in the open world doing things together, THEN CREATE CONTENT FOR IT.
exactly , I am a pvp player but I have played enough open world pvp games to know how toxic it can get when the important dungeons and quests are in games when there is absolutely no safety, just bring 2-3 guilds that monopolize everything among themselves and the game is done for everyone else, they will hardcore take the fun out of the game by making it impossible for everyone else to grow by killing and camping everyone in key spots. One big example for those who know, Tales of Pirates , you didn't do SHIT if you weren't a top spender / in a good guild, you were relegated to only do like 20% of the game and spend most of the time farming mats and doing professions...
I also grew up playing EQ and i remember it being like it at first as well. I have no problems with instancing and switched to and LOVED WoW classic specifically for the PVP which just didnt exist in EQ. I loved Battlegrounds, all that. However there was alot of people that loved that aspect of EQ and even I did for a while. The total sandbox experience. It gave the rest of the server population a drive to team up and dethrone the top guilds. It happened all the time. It happened on my server several times in fact before even PoP came out. It was just a totally different style of game and dynamic and thats OK, it wasnt for everybody. There's still a classic EQ private server out there that still has players playing on that till this day. EQ was the foundational inspiration for WoW, so all WoW lovers owe some homage to EQ for that. But its important to understand that exact mentality is kind of what eventually causes a downhill tumble for games. Im not saying everything should have stayed like EQ sandbox, but that changing things to improve it for more players ends up going too far as it has in current WoW. Enough people complain, they change something. Its for the better at first but theres a fine line where to tips over into detriment. The players just cant help themselves. They want this easier, or that more accessible, etc etc, till eventually the game is completely watered down yet too complicated at the same time and you end up with exactly what the guy in this video described with the top 10%/bottom 10% being catered to and everybody in the middle kind of left out and no longer able to enjoy the game. Big reason why so many people still play older games or private server iterations of classic versions of games like EQ, WoW, Diablo 2, list goes on.
Its not as if they haven't been trying to add more public events into the world like in dragonflight they added time rifts, superbloom, community feast, great hunts, researchers under fire to say that they haven't been trying to do public events is just wrong. But its the fact that we've been conditioned to not care about anything other than what will give us power, gold, or cool looking stuff, and for some people not even that third one matters, as well as the fact that old content simply doesn't matter past the patch or expansion. Like in guild wars 2 one of the most popular meta events is the Octovine from the first expansion (we are on our fifth expansion btw) the reason that is one of the more popular events is because it gives a shit ton of gold by way of mats and just raw gold another reason that it is popular is because you don't simply just out scale that content by being a higher level you out scale it by bringing more people by being at least a little bit social. People do forget the MMO part of MMORPG and there is simply content not meant for the majority of solo players because the majority of solo players are not good at the game they are playing or the content that they want to do is meant for more people to be able to play it.
They've implemented events and the like. just not in full force. They have mainly implemented these features in the latest expansions like with dragon flight, the hunting parties and events for the faction. They just haven't done this for older expansions. I don't know if they are afraid to overhaul them but that's what classic lives for. They need to overhaul the old expansion areas with interaction and life.
I used to be a WoW doomer like this but it's so toxic. Just quit the game or play it for what it is. After I dropped my expectations and appreciated Retail for it's strong suits, I started having fun again. I can enjoy classic & retail. Best of both worlds.
@johnnyflannigan136 I play WoW and I voice my opinions. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the doomers bursting blood vessels over the game. It's simply not worth devoting energy at that point. If you're at that point, just quit. It's not going to get better. And even if it does, doomers won't admit it. Trust me, I know because I used to be one too.
20:35 That happened to me once in Ironforge, I was very new to the game and only lvl 25. Minding my own business doing a quest when suddenly about 20 players on their rep-grinded mounts appeared, marching slowly in a line and on to the tramway right past me. Was so fucking EPIC I remember it clearly even now.
I think if they made you immune to mobs within the 20 meter range and first strike makes a timer that counts down 10 seconds. never surprised, never downsided because of mobs attacking. Also instant teleports to areas of high mob kills and pvp activity
It's alway nice to start an MMORPG at launch. Everything on foot for maybe a year or two before ground mounts. Then another year or two you get flying mounts. By that time, you've "been-there-done-that" and the flying is more than welcome. You are more than ready for that time saver. And it's fun too. But imagine starting the game five years in. After a couple of quests, boom...ground and flying mounts. You never get to experience the years of gameplay on foot. You miss out. And you take the flying for granted.
TLDR: A lot of gamers (WoW and otherwise) are unfortunately playing for "winning" without ANY care for how they do it. The flying mounts content skip and 3v1 war mode are both great examples. Also, not WoW specific but look at how many players change classes/specs because of a small nerf or buff. These people clearly don't enjoy their class or even the game. They're just chasing the dragon of ego/dopamine hits more than having a genuine love of playing.
So your talking about CLASSIC era andies right? Because they are 100x more sweaty then even the MOST sweatiest retail wow player. They would not even invite you playing a class that is only 2/3 of your dmg, that is an ACTUAL fact. DESPITE the entire content itself is so piss easy and can do it with both your eyes gouged out
Maybe people that changes class because of nerfs is because they like more than 1 class and are dedicated to be the best as possible in their group of friends. Yall are so dumb getting mad
As a hunter in ICC I built a skill tree using beast master and a Turtle to make a tanking build wearing shaman mail armor greens and I tanked marrogar and deathwisper with almost no dammage and it was amazing. I three manned all the icc 5 mans with a prot pally and arms warrior while tanking with my turtle. It was so amazing! In WoTLK hunter pets got a base 90% avoidance to all AOE damage and cannot be "back attacked" so they can block any and all attacks. using the skill trees you can raise their dodge and block super high and give a turlte 4 defensive cooldowns. using distracting shot you have a multitarget taunt with a macro and multishot and the innate pet taunt. Final component you use "thick hide" talent to give them a big contribution of defence and stam from shaman armor
This is one of those things where asmon's mind has been severely warped by being a streamer. World pvp did have those situations, literally all the time up until wrath. I remember every freakin day in bc having to fight off alliance during daily quests on QuelThalas. Was it unfair? yes but back then everyone died easily and if you were skilled enough you could take on multiple players at a time. Now its a joke.
@@exetyou’ve always been able to toggle pvp mode on/off. Having Warmode made it worse because instead of toggling off and waiting a few minutes to unflag, you have to fly to a capital city which is the most ridiculous thing they have done in this game. I honestly miss the days of PVP servers.
Exactly. He is so cocksure of himself that there is no room fopr doubt or changing his flawed opinions. World pvp was exactly how you described. That tendency of Asmongold is really starting to annoy me. And it's not just world pvp where it spews out. Can be a very random oitlier opinion that he presents as the truth.
Quinn is only farming drama for views and Asmongold it's basically trying to capitalize on Quinn by catering to his viewer base that will flock to every bit of drama because their lives are so devoid of meaning, they cannot find joy in anything other than hating a game that still manages to be very successful despite having become all the things that these people don't like. Every single argument made is related to some sort of change that is not inherently good or bad but it's just something that they don't like or appreciate, however, they cannot help but play the role of doomers by saying that everything is broken. Everything's bad because they can only see things from their own warped perspectives.
bc its obv more of the same. the game is a mobile game now, its not a game meant to be played in a way that sucks your soul (and those sadly are the best games).

Everquest was called Evercrack for a reason, I also played that game from 1998 until a couple months ago. I won't lie at all, it has significantly improved my life, my work quality and my relationship s not playing it anymore. It was really hindering me in ways I could not have even known. And you're 100%, the feeling that you get when you see something amazing. I used to sit and just watch people cast spells in EverQuest and never knew how to level for the longest time. I was just fascinated with it.
Flying ruined immersion and group finder / dungeon finder ruined the social aspect. People don’t even talk any more.. I shit you not, as level 71s, we were pulling the entire dungeon and clearing in under 5 minutes only to say nothing and drop from the group to requeue.
Hm... fun idea. But how would that work? I mean zerg are mindless puppet creatures controlled by building-like static Cerebrates. Neither a Zergling nor a Cerebrate is a normal MMO experience. And the one Zerg that would be interesting to play, Kerrigan, is so wildly OP that you can't just have a million player-Kerrigans running around. And sure players could reasonably choose a Terran marine as a basic "shoot things" class... but how do you justify a human with a gun being about as strong as a thousand-year-old psychic Protoss warrior with a personal shield? Or a Marine being as strong as a high templar / dark templar. You'd need to violate Starcraft lore quite significantly to make world of Starcraft. I'd still play it though, it's a fun idea.
@@lightworker2956 I haven't played starcraft 2, so I dont' know the story for it, but from starcraft 1 (including brood war) no you wouldn't expect Kerrigan to be a playable character in a hypothetical game, realistically she's a character everyone is trying to stop, kind of like in the campaigns "And sure players could reasonably choose a Terran marine as a basic "shoot things" class... but how do you justify a human with a gun being about as strong as a thousand-year-old psychic Protoss warrior with a personal shield?" I just watched a video of 50 firebats vs 50 zealots, and the firebats won and the zealots take up 2 supply depot space, while firebats take 1 each (although units cost similar in resource cost) maybe the game doesn't have to be identical to how world of warcraft is designed, maybe every class doesn't need to be similar in strength maybe not everyone can be an archon or dark archon, maybe you have to earn it, or there are limits on number of people who can get them archons I think were 4 supply units, while a marine is 1 supply unit, so maybe the archon character would be 4 times stronger
It's always funny to see a streamer complain about spending money getting achievements. They simply use their fame to get achievements. I've never been jealous about other people's achievements, even if they've bought them with money. Exclusivity can still exist when you spend money. How many people have Riot's $500 skin? I can't wait to see Warcraft's first $500 transmog.
Flying is good, just make it more challenging to use. Maybe you have to run to build momentum before you take off. And add flying mount fatigue for flying too long without landing to recharge the mounts stamina.
I remember your comparison of WoW's girl-esque writing to stories like Steven Universe and My Little Pony, but My Little Pony had an episode about the flaws of communism. Then WoW is afraid to write their villains as real world allegories.
And Steven is fighting space nazis. He beats them through the power of friendship, but the gem homeworld legit belives in racial supremacy and they talk about it in the show. Then Steven Universe: Future portrayed Steven as a former child soldier with PTSD. The execution was cringe, but the idea had some balls to it.
@@Yodah97 It aas cringe, and did a lot of the same virtue signaling that WoW does. Still better written and had more teeth than WoW does though. Not to mention My Little Pony had episodes about the intricacies of ***cide, and that DBZ fight with goat Satan.
The levelling point is fucking insane. There is no *challenge* to levelling and it's too easy yet it takes a normal person with a normal life- multiple weeks, possibly months to get to 80. The levelling is somewhere between 8-20 hours per expansion for most of the fanbase. Does Quin understand how much time that is? If you played FIFA for 15 hours, or slots, or watched Netflix for FIFTEEN hours people would obliterate you. They'd recommend therapy. MMO players have completely lost the run of themselves on this issue. IT ISN'T CLASSIC. It isn't 2004. Is he arguing that with multiple brilliant games available, people are going to spend two full weeks levelling. He GETS PAID to do it. We don't. Get a fucking grip. Streamers need to cop on.
@@michaelsongin4007You already did. Or you did over the last few days. That's the point. Quin is paid to do this. Most normal people do not have the time to level the way he wants. It would probably take them half a year. It is not skill related. The quests become repetitive. Killing mobs is too easy. Levelling is not. Levelling is a tedious chore.
bro asmon, class guide videos get 25k+ views in a week for pvp. just one class, "dead" tho. boomer viewpoints coming out rn, ofcourse everyone u know quit they arent good anymore.
Ive played since 05, on and off and I have to say the most memories i have of WoW are from Vanilla and Legion. Legion was the first time I started playing consistently and i had a couple close friends id hang out with occasionally but 90% of my gameplay was me running around, no mounts and doing quests... working to get flying. That was the most immersive gameplay i had in years and since early BFA, its never been the same.
I disagree that other esport pvp-only games like league killed wow pvp. Pvp used to be big back in wrath and cata (when league was already quite established). Hell, there are even still private servers that are exclusively arena focused for wrath that have been doing well for over a decade. The thing that killed wow pvp is the devs balancing it around dampening which turned pvp into a slogfest of wait for X% dampening and gating damage behind cooldowns for every class. Back in wrath you didnt need to have icy veins up as a frost mage to pop somebody in a shatter combo. You didnt need to use any cds to pop somebody with an elemental shaman lava burst combo or destro lock chaos bolt conflagrate combo. If you were allowed to cast, you dealt damage. If you were a warrior that could stick to a target, you dealt damage. You didnt need to wait for cds. Now everything is instant spells that hit like wet noodles unless you pop your 2 minute cds and once theyre over you might aswell go afk and wait for them to come back up. That plus the fact that every class has some sort of instant self heal or immunity makes pvp waaaay too slow.
from the video the guy says in dragonflight they implemented a cool flying system Asmongold said league of legends caused half the people he knew to leave wow, so maybe they need a league of legends-esque pvp experience in wow
League didn't really break out until 2012 or so. I knew a lot of people who quit wow for league back in 2012/13. A lot. League definitely hurt wows playerbase.
he also said it was cool that paladin had bubble or rogue could sap.....i mean you can still do that and on higher difficulty rogues using sap in pve. Or he thinks that pvp should be about gear advantage. classic Andy at its finest but im not saying classic andies are wrong they just need to play classic or move on.
Mist of Pandaria was the best time I had playing WOW besides the very start when everything was new. The leveling was perfect, had lots of PVE things to do in the world, dungeons were great and fun, PVP was pretty fair.
Why I played so many MMOs as a teen in the early-mid 2000's is because I had IRL friends that wanted to play MMOs. If not for them I'd have played maybe half of the ones that I did. It was the thing to do for gamers, almost like the Facebook before Facebook. People were so hype for WoW when it released and for the following 2 expansions. After my friends and I got within 10 levels of the level cap for each new release we would quit every time, though. Then they'd often pick up a new one or go back to playing OSRS. This was downright infuriating to me lol. I couldn't understand why they wouldn't stick to one MMO! The only MMO we all played heavily before WoW was OSRS, and not to bash it but even as a member it wasn't the same level of fun that it was initially after10,000 hours of playtime. I was never the achievement-chasing type; instead I wanted a challenge. WoW Classic offered that challenge constantly, whereas Runescape, Flyff, Maplestory and most other f2p MMO's (unless you're masochistic) didn't. Now the only challenge to retail WoW is the endgame, yet the majority of endgame players are bitter and angry, wanting only to optimize farming and getting loot ASAP and rarely actually wanting a challenge lol. It's exactly the type of faux-team player crowd that got so heavily into Overwatch, and why I instinctively wouldn't buy Overwatch even if my friends had a gun pointed to my head. They're like team games where people on your team act like they're on the other team, and the game actively encourages their behavior. Thankfully FF14 has a much nicer playerbase, mostly because it has great optional challenges lategame despite not constantly shoving huge loads of mandatory grinding down your throat so that's been my safe spot ever since mid-TBC Classic. I don't pay the sub fee the entire year, but I don't have to because the content isn't tailored to be done constantly, rather you can come back to it occasionally unless you'd like to experience it through multiple classes. If I could play a version of WoW besides Classic, it would be Legion. That was extremely fun to play through, from top to bottom. Raiders weren't angry towards eachother, just excited and maybe frustrated towards certain mechanics lol. I remember joining over 100 Heroic Kil'Jaeden groups before finally clearing the fight. If I didn't enjoy the game enough I wouldn't have done it, trust me lol. But it was that fun; classes all got cool stuff, the story was great, the zones were great, the music was phenomenal and I can't see that being topped by WoW without dropping the pretense toward making everything less engaging in order to focus on gender studies.
there are also simply better MMOs out there. More MMO players should give a chance and try out other MMOs, even just for perspective. Even if they don't like and stick with one of the other MMOs, they will find aspects that said other MMO does better than for example WoW, and thus gain a better understanding and perspective on how their fav MMO could be improved & let the developers know. Or they can find an MMO that they completely fall in love all over again, which is happening to tons ppl trying out FFXIV or GW2 for example
@FF8IrvineFan_ FF14 is literally like WoW, just better. The producer literally tasked devs to play WoW and see how they can do the same, just better, and they accomplished that. It's even closer now that retail has stolen a bunch of features from FF14 in TWW.
@@TSLlolxiv hasn’t really been all that good since shadowbringers tbh. The class changes are going in uninteresting directions and classes get gutted for no reason and lose their identity(SMN,BLM), raids are basically just turning into reskins, hell even the story in the newest one isn’t even all that good.
@@TSLlol Completely subjective, obviously. During the couple weeks before TWW I tried messing with FF14 for the 3rd time. And GW2 for the first time. I lasted in GW2 for about 45 mins then uninstalled and played ff14 for like an hour? Then I was done. Whenever I play any other MMO, something just feels off. In both games, the movement felt like I was ice skating. And the combat to me is just not fun in any other MMO. None of them give me the responsiveness, the snappy, crispy, butter smooth combat. I hit buttons, and there is like a delay. You dont get that visceral feel. Every other MMO feels like a watered down version of WoW, at least in the beginning parts. It just feels hallow to me, not sure how else to explain it. WoW is on top for a reason. They are the king of MMO's. and TWW is going to push them up even further.
I deleted my blizzard account recently and had been playing since TBC. The 2 dreadful expansions of BfA and Shadowlands back-to-back killed all joy from the game. Blizzard were interested in making money and micro transactions than creating a good product/game.
No addon plays the game for you. if you are an average player you can have every addon in existence and you still won't out damage someone from Echo or Liquid or any other cutting edge guild.
I think its been since wotlk where you had to go to a dungeon entrance and when two people got there you could go to the summoning stone and summon the rest of your party. Then later on it became an insta que thing but they left the small detail to be able to do dungeon challenge modes, in MoP/Legion you actually had to go to the dungeon entrances again, just get rid of the insta que lobby system and make people go to the dungeon and raid entrances again. Such an easy thing to do that'll bring value to the world they spent so much time creating versus skipping over everything with a click of a button.
Asmon's takes on world PvP are weird. World PvP used to be great, and it still is great on certain private servers. It makes the world lively, it makes it feel dangerous and exciting. Will you run into gankers? Hell yeah, you better believe it. And you know what? That just fuels the hatred between factions and makes it all the more enjoyable to get out there instead of sitting in town que'ing for dungeons and BG's. Otherwise the game could just be called World of-.... The Warcraft part has been long lost and the world is a dead, barren wasteland. Private servers is where it's at. Retail WoW is a dead fish in a sea of garbage expansions from a dead company.
Majority of people like the state of wow. Its the 1% of classic andies / delusional asmon yes men who haven't even played the game in 10 years who think its in terrible state. Wotlk classic died before lich king phase even came out. That should tell you something
Some of the most fun I ever had in WoW were Windfury Procs with Unstoppable Force in Alterac Valley. So many hours of farming was rewarded with feeling incredibly powerful. It was so gratifying. Fair no, but I worked for it.
The top 10% / bottom 10% statement is actually an under exaggeration. I was literally in the best raiding guild in the world that didn't raid more than 12-15 hours per week, and even still it didn't feel like the game was designed for us. It genuinely feels like it is designed for World first raiders with 5 maxed out alts and rank 1 gladiators. Top 10%? More like top 0.1%
"when have you PvP'ed Asmon?" answers "oh in WotLK i was so good at PvP, you know 16 years ago. Haven't played seriously since" 😂🎂 still no 1440p quality in 2024 btw
ya I don't mind the 480p yellow lighting videos but why tf isn't the stream higher quality? it's always blurry and I watch in the premium 1080p bitrate (whatever tf that means) the games blurry, videos he watches are blurry, his dog shit camera is blurry, like wtf bro
Asmongold has bought and has been carried in years in WoW. He has no pull on speaking about how good the game is... He is that 80% he is talking about... Not good enough to have fun but he has all the time in the world to play so he can still wipe for days in a normal raid... but says the game is to easy.
I use to and still like WoW but i quit more then once. The main issue is all the "resets". Each expansion, each update you have to regear. It just gets old, your gear is great for about a month, maybe two then you need to grind for the better gear.
Between asmon's dumbass take where rating and pvp templates are bad for the game and Quin calling himself a Legion andy when he's complaining about shit in War Within where 90% of it was also a problem with Legion is giving me brainrot. I don't necessarily disagree with most of what he's complaining about but all this shit largely started with WoD and it's just been the same shit since then. This just seems like 2 boomers waking up to the problems WoW's had for the last 10 years at least and becoming disillusioned with the game.
So they should do warcraft 4 that will most likely get all the hate of streamers and players (blizzard cant so good new games anymore) and then do WoW 2 which will alienate the current wow addicts so that they quit? Thats the death of blizzard
Its a twenty year old game . Once the sunken cost player base starts dying off we may see new products from the wow franchise . Hopefully another 15 years
Like what, Wow 2 ? That would crash and burn so hard 90% of the people would hate it, it would be filled with micro transactions, boosts for real money, some weird lezbo/tranny story and characters that even their mother doesnt love
They could just do classic again in a new engine. 90% of players would be new kids that never experienced it. The remaining 10% current wow audience. @@Ludydobry

It's good to see I haven't missed anything since I quit 6 years ago. I'm not coming back today, and I won't be coming back ever. I played for 14 years, and sometimes I still miss it, but it will never be what it once was

Retail is for those with jobs/families. Unfortunately, a lot of us were playing this game long before that happened for us and then that changed. We got older. But not all of us. Some of us didn't get the job/family. So Classic. That was the idea anyway, I think. No time? Retail. Tons of time? Classic.
In the wrap up, about 1:39:00 in, by far the best of your videos IMO ALL TIME. Great conversation. Hit all the spots. It's comical and refreshing to see the responses to obv younger audience chats that are in their teens/20s. Different generations. I grew up in a time where we all rode our bikes everywhere out till street lights came on. WoW has moved to a generation where participation trophies and give-it-to-me-now is the norm. Safe spaces and words are 'literal violence'. I've gravitated back to games with super long grinds, simple mechanics with ZERO instructions.. free roam, sandbox gather/craft/build/explore. Tons of time on Valheim, spent 2,600hrs on MoE until Pax Dei released in EA. Now I'm just immersing myself for a small getaway. Gonna always reflect on the '04 days of Vanilla and how great it was. Spending two hours to trek halfway across maps in Pax Dei, days and days spent leveling leatherworking a couple levels... that's my jam now.
It's always lame and frustrating to hear Asmon talk about WoW, which is strange since it's how he got most of his initial following. He's like a jilted lover that gaslights the audience about what is good and bad about the game based off his ever evolving realization of his opinions. I think Blizzard is a horrid company now adays and people that play their games as sadly addicted people, with that being said, I do not think he has any idea why people like the game, but a solid grasp on why he thinks he doesn't. This isn't even getting into the can of worms that is the topic of how warped his last ten years of the game has been, classic especially, and consequently the opinions developed because of this. He cites servers turning 100% horde and alliance as a 'you think you do, but you don't' for world pvp, but this was largely because of mismanagement by Blizzard.
@@snuffeldjuret That’s okay. I feel differently. It’s good to know that the wildly successful streamer has people that agree with him 100%. As with most people, the points of contention with me are more PvP based and his perceptions of what PvP is for the average person. I don’t care to really discuss it further though, just a comment I posted in frustration while I wade through the hour and forty minutes of complaining noise I put on while I did something else.
It's both. He said it in the video. The game is designed for the top and bottom 10%. Raids are way too hard and leveling is way too easy. And from what I hear, no one knows what's happening; players need addons to guide them through the raids.
As someone who has never played WoW, in fact, as someone who completely dismissed WoW as a "casual game that even women play", back when it came out (and I regret nothing), its crazy to see how much useless complications Blizzard added on over the years. I remember my classmates in middle school (must have been in the beta) talking about this one guy who managed to hit max level after only 11 days. Meanwhile I was playing Neocron, Ultima Online and Anarchy Online. Patrician games for Patrician players, or so I thought.
I quit Dota 2 after playing it from 2012-2023, it has been a blast, but I realized it was time to move on. I still play video games. But believe it or not I think single player games do my mental health so much good. I’ve been rediscovering my long-lost interest in strategy games, so I’ve been playing tons of city builders and also Vic 3 and Total War games, franchises that used to be my childhood
It's a better example of a balanced PvP experience compared to the mess that is WoW. I haven't seem he straight up praise LoL yet. The fact that he doesn't play is condemnation enough. He also likes citing Valorant as an example.
Wife and I have been playing WoW together for 15 years. We quit this year. It's not the same game. The original characters were diluted and the original themes have been invaded by 'the message'. Tired of the grind hamster wheel that the game has become. As most new things these days, there's a lack of original ideas, ineffective storytelling and terrible character development. Character arcs and stories have been replaced by conveniently connected events such as 'this happens and then this happens and then this happens...' Why? We don't know. Do we care? Why should we? We have no connection to any of the characters or events. So I continue to buy physical media of older content that I care about, before it gets deleted from existence by the 'cancel crowd' that's happy with nothing and offended by everything.
I’ve got to say i totally agree with Quin, The War Within feels like a huge letdown for long-time WoW fans. The expansion seems to lack the effort and passion that made the game legendary in the first place. The story, for instance, is a major disappointment. It’s like Blizzard has forgotten what made Warcraft’s lore so compelling-those dark, savage themes and morally complex characters. Now, the narrative feels like it’s pushing an agenda that has nothing to do with the original tone of the game. The new zones are another issue. They come off as overly bright and whimsical, almost like they’re trying to be funny or light-hearted, which is a massive shift from the intense, war-torn landscapes that we loved in earlier expansions. The whole thing feels like a Saturday morning cartoon instead of the epic, immersive world that World of Warcraft used to be. Don’t even get me started on the delves. They’re just boring. There’s no real depth to them, and they don’t add anything meaningful to the lore or the overall game experience. They’re just there, another checkbox on a list of features that don’t live up to their potential. Class design has also taken a hit. Rogues, in particular, are suffering from button bloat with way too many abilities that just clutter up the gameplay. It’s frustrating to see that some classes, like Demon Hunters, can get away with pressing a few buttons and still out-damage others who are struggling to keep up with overly complicated rotations. And seriously, why are we still using Shadowlands abilities? They feel out of place and just add to the clutter. The early access situation is another sore point. Charging $40 for early access feels like a blatant cash grab, and it’s dividing the player base. Plus, why release the expansion if most of the content is gated? It makes no sense and kills the excitement of launch day. Overall, The War Within feels like Blizzard is losing touch with what made WoW great. It’s sad to see such an iconic game lose its way, and I really hope they listen to the community before it’s too late. Anyone else feel the same, or is it just me?
Long time WoW fan here. (Been playing since Wrath). And uh....what are you talking about lol. The overwhelming feedback is positive across the board. A story thats way more cohesive than stories of the past, effortlessly moving you from zone to zone. The zones are beautiful, the music is fantastic. It literally shows the amount of effort and passion went into this expansion. I feel like you're playing a different game. All over the forums, reddit, FB groups, you're hearing sentiments just like this. This comment thread is full of doomers man.
i dont understand why classic or warcraft is so praised. to be honest lets take Arthas most classic Andis will tell you its the most intresting badass Antagonist but to be real he was boring nothing new about his story. basically just a mediveal Darth Vader copy. And that goes for the rest of classic as well. Its just the nostalgia and getting older. For most of the wow players the world was just a simpler and better placer with far less concerns as they have as grown ups because they were children and they assosciate these happy times with classic.
Imagine saying you don’t enjoy an mmo because you are forced to play it a certain way I.E. it’s a teleport game with flying, then use a freaking walking mount. People acting like there’s regulations and laws in WoW. It’s not that big of deal unless you make it that big
Some people in the recent WoW videos were commenting that he's gonna act like the new expac is great and he's excited to play again, then in a week go back to shitting on the game. They were wrong, it only took 5 days.
Back in EverQuest days there was account selling (not approved by Varent/SOE), and I remember it was pretty easy to tell when an account was sold bc of speech patterns and most of all performance. There has always been people wanting to skip ahead, but the community could tell when that happened and it was known and the sold character was blacklisted. The community can solve a lot of value problems on its own. Game designers just need to design it as a game.
I don't understand these big brain content creators and long-time WoW players saying things like "it doesn't matter if there's a good reason, if players keep having these bad experiences, they'll stop playing" and "I don't care if it's not fair, it feels good to pwn newbs". You made the same shit that you're eating. and just "earned by playing the game a lot" doesn't matter if everyone you beat to the race gets discouraged. You no-life it to beat them there? It's so stupid. At this rate the only solution will be to have fake AI opponents that trick you into thinking you're pwning newbs, but no player ever get pwned. or yeah, like Asmongold said, make PVP a mini-game. Drop the pointless leveling and just make everyone the same power always from the start.
Agree with almost all this guys points. I still remember how fun and unique it was to find the quests for Wailing Caverns hidden in the rock above the entrance. It made the environment more interactive and fun. I also think people clearly WANT world PVP. But as you've stated Asmon, they don't actually play it. PVP imo needs to be completely redesigned. Hell they could even integrate some PVP into the main storyline to spice things up. Honestly each expansion is just another reminder of the honest lack of creativity and independent thinking from the development team. Very sad.
I started in 2004, we built our raiding guild from the ground up in BC and WoTLK, downed all content in Wrath and Cata while it was current and that was definitely peak. After that, pretty much everyone quit, and I myself would only come back and play to check out new ex-packs for a few months at a time. Thankful for all it brought to my life, all the people, friends, laughs, videos, experience, learning. Even met my best friend (and actually just recently moved 1,000 miles to live with him and his family while I go back to school) and now he and 2 or 3 of our long-time friends still play pretty regularly since TWW launched but we don't really do the social stuff anymore, we pretty much just do Arena, and we do play a lot of other games together, not just WoW. I feel bad for people who are still chasing the dragon playing hours and hours every day - for those of you reading this who are - let it go. I know we all miss our peak glory days but they're over. We're 30+ now. Enjoy the game, but please don't devote your life to it like the old days because it's just not worth it anymore. The game is easy mode and the rewards aren't really rewarding anymore. Hence why we only play for PvP - the only challenge left in the game that's not stupid M+ nonsense mechanics - is other players.
I honestly like the long, pain in the ass quests and achievements that aren’t skillfully hard but require a lot of effort. High level raiding isn’t anything I’ve ever really been interested in.
Now i understand why the new expansion is named "war within" ,and why it will have 3 expansion. 3 big way to totally ruin the last remaining goods in wow.
Everybody is forgetting the fact that Legion was the expansion which killed off PvP forever with its stupid templates and terrible builder-spender class design

I want to participate in world of fashion craft iono tho
My whole guild quit 4-5 years ago, it was primarily full of ultra nerds who loved this game and even they quit

Well its a 20 year old game they shouldve started making a sequel a decade ago
I feel like this is a common theme with Blizzard games in general. The games are so close to being great, but for whatever reason, the devs can't pull their head out of their ass to solve the most glaring issues causing players to have negative experiences. Overwatch, Diablo, and WoW all seem to suffer from this.

No other company will make a MMO without a cash shop because it would require a $25+/month fee with a three-month minimum. There's a reason D4 is free to play online after you purchase the expansion without a monthly sub.

Yep this is it.
Its not, its easy to say that given the limited knowledge each human can have over others.
If one streamer says something, and 1000 comments seems to agree with the streamer. People tend to think "ok this is the way"

Agree WOW is to polished and solved now a days, new Addon comes out and you know what is all about, and if not you are declared a dumb noob.
Yeah or hyjal was interesting not being able to fly there or even get in there without doing parkour
Fuck that, dragonriding from day 1 in TWW is goated.
interessting i remember times in which flying was time gated in wow and everbody hated it
TurtleWow ban bots and gold sellers very effectively, I bought gold and got banned within 6 hours, the servers are so healthy
The question you need to ask yourself with every single game "why would I play this game ?" So, ask yourself "why should I play WoW ?" Then follow that up with "why should I play WoW instead of that other game ?" And you will know how you feel about the game.
57:00 "I was able to go directly into sunwell with brutal gear/it was on par with black temple gear" Bro the video is on your channel. doesn't that prove his point? he and a raid full of people in shitty brutal glad gear who probably freshly boosted their character, hadn't played in several tiers, maybe even hadn't set foot in SWP or were rerolling a new alt and spent 3 hours pvping for glad gear went in to the HARDEST tbc content and completed it? even if it took a long time to do, you compare that to the first time most people walked into sunwell and couldn't clear a single trash pack. nothing he said was wrong, he didn't say they full cleared it in record speed, he said he hadn't raided since tier 4 and still went in and did it because of the wellfare pvp epics.

500 people in Silithus doing the AQ gates opening event apparently will still blow up the servers in 2020
@lebronzejames8693 true, only the private servers can make packed open world work. Cause they use black magic, or something
vanilla wow was before my time so honestly i couldnt give less of a fucking shit about server pride it is so fucking stupid to me
I don't know if it's a combined server thing, more of a Raid Finder issue.

Early access was my FIRST reason to convince myself i was going to waste my time by reinstalling.
The fact that there was 0 hype was a great reason too.
Also the lore was utterly ruined in Shadowlands so what is even the point?
@@user-pc5qj2ix2c What echo chamber had 0 hype?
well it sounds like you got easy xp from the early access
It's still not a good system for the players though, unless it helped with lag as I had none outside of a few short moments this last week then it has no benefit for us.
there is only one reason always *money*
Judging by the abysmal viewership (DF had 800k on Twitch at launch, WW had 180k) of the game currently I think the devs didn't take into account the other option they force on players there. "Oh spoilers? oh I can't play with everyone on launch? my hype and excitement is gone, im out."
the reason for early access is simple server issues, wow, ffxiv and so on servers can barely handle early access numbers, let alone having a global launch.
Every expansion I keep coming back but I quit each expansion faster and faster.
yeah that used to be me. if wow was a game where you could just level up and then jump into some raid stuff with friends it’d be fine but unfortunately it requires like 20-40 hours a week of practice and prep to keep up and its just too much it’s basically a second job.
Early access used to be for testing. (which used to be free or came with other games, think Halo reach beta from ODST)
Pre ordering was for scarcity.
f you want people running around in the open world doing things together, THEN CREATE CONTENT FOR IT.
exactly , I am a pvp player but I have played enough open world pvp games to know how toxic it can get when the important dungeons and quests are in games when there is absolutely no safety, just bring 2-3 guilds that monopolize everything among themselves and the game is done for everyone else, they will hardcore take the fun out of the game by making it impossible for everyone else to grow by killing and camping everyone in key spots.
They need to overhaul the old expansion areas with interaction and life.
they've literally been working on outdoor content the last few years
I used to be a WoW doomer like this but it's so toxic. Just quit the game or play it for what it is. After I dropped my expectations and appreciated Retail for it's strong suits, I started having fun again. I can enjoy classic & retail. Best of both worlds.
Its garbage and people NEED to call it out.. You can sit and take your lashes while saying " yes master, give me more master".
20:35
That happened to me once in Ironforge, I was very new to the game and only lvl 25.

You'd need to violate Starcraft lore quite significantly to make world of Starcraft.
I'd still play it though, it's a fun idea.
@@lightworker2956 I haven't played starcraft 2, so I dont' know the story for it, but from starcraft 1 (including brood war)
no you wouldn't expect Kerrigan to be a playable character in a hypothetical game, realistically she's a character everyone is trying to stop, kind of like in the campaigns
"And sure players could reasonably choose a Terran marine as a basic "shoot things" class... but how do you justify a human with a gun being about as strong as a thousand-year-old psychic Protoss warrior with a personal shield?"
I just watched a video of 50 firebats vs 50 zealots, and the firebats won
and the zealots take up 2 supply depot space, while firebats take 1 each (although units cost similar in resource cost)
maybe the game doesn't have to be identical to how world of warcraft is designed, maybe every class doesn't need to be similar in strength
maybe not everyone can be an archon or dark archon, maybe you have to earn it, or there are limits on number of people who can get them
archons I think were 4 supply units, while a marine is 1 supply unit, so maybe the archon character would be 4 times stronger
Cringe take
I remember your comparison of WoW's girl-esque writing to stories like Steven Universe and My Little Pony, but My Little Pony had an episode about the flaws of communism.
Who said you have to play 15 hours straight? No one. 100’s of millions watch 15+ hours of TV every week.
Leveling is literally the game lol. It's not a speed run, if you don't like it play something else.
bro asmon, class guide videos get 25k+ views in a week for pvp. just one class, "dead" tho. boomer viewpoints coming out rn, ofcourse everyone u know quit they arent good anymore.
Bro said 'who here is making over 100k a year' ????? Asmon is so out of touch sometimes lmao
That plus the fact that every class has some sort of instant self heal or immunity makes pvp waaaay too slow.
from the video the guy says in dragonflight they implemented a cool flying system
Asmongold said league of legends caused half the people he knew to leave wow, so maybe they need a league of legends-esque pvp experience in wow
League didn't really break out until 2012 or so. I knew a lot of people who quit wow for league back in 2012/13. A lot. League definitely hurt wows playerbase.
@@BIGAPEGANGLEADER but for Asmongold to lose half the people he knew on wow, is big numbers
Well, for the first time, I disagree with Asmon! MoP's class design was the reason I kept playing the game for the entire expansion, personally.
he also said it was cool that paladin had bubble or rogue could sap.....i mean you can still do that and on higher difficulty rogues using sap in pve. Or he thinks that pvp should be about gear advantage. classic Andy at its finest but im not saying classic andies are wrong they just need to play classic or move on.
MoP was the most fun I've had in any WoW version, by far.
Mist of Pandaria was the best time I had playing WOW besides the very start when everything was new.
The leveling was perfect, had lots of PVE things to do in the world, dungeons were great and fun, PVP was pretty fair.
@@JstBringIt Some of the pro-MoP comments were deleted. =(
bc u actually like competitive arena and competitive things, unlike him.
Just quit playing any mmo and you realize there are A LOT of better games out there that don't waste your time on porpuse and are 10x the fun.
there are also simply better MMOs out there.
@FF8IrvineFan_ FF14 is very casual and raider friendly, what are you trying to say?
They need to get rid of all the addons to the basically play the game for you another thing that has completely ruined the game

So I continue to buy physical media of older content that I care about, before it gets deleted from existence by the 'cancel crowd' that's happy with nothing and offended by everything.

quin is a huge toxic crybaby, nothing lost.
I actually quit a while ago. I genuinely just stopped having fun with it.
If you play on a PVP server you have ZERO room to complain about PVP. End of story. Quit, don't quit. No one cares.
I honestly like the long, pain in the ass quests and achievements that aren’t skillfully hard but require a lot of effort. High level raiding isn’t anything I’ve ever really been interested in.
Now i understand why the new expansion is named
"war within" ,and why it will have 3 expansion.
3 big way to totally ruin the last remaining goods in wow.
Everybody is forgetting the fact that Legion was the expansion which killed off PvP forever with its stupid templates and terrible builder-spender class design
