  • The Persian language has been a bridge of friendship, a highway of wisdom in today's world. The authenticity and antiquity of the Persian language connect us to a large linguistic family called Indo-Iranian, from which hundreds of languages and dialects have branched out. glancing at the history of Persian language and literature in the Indian Subcontinent, we encounter hundreds of prominent figures who have created a colorful rainbow of Persian sweetness by composing thousands of sweet poems. Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib Dehlavi is among these important figures, who emerged in the 19th century and added a new chapter to the sea of Persian and Urdu language and literature. Known as "Lisān al-Ghayb" (the Tongue of the Unseen) and "Shahanshah-e-Sukhan" (the King of Speech), Ghalib is acceptable to the extent that a critique has said exaggeratingly- “there are two revelatory books in India: The first is the Rigveda, and the second is Ghalib's Divan”.
In his Persian poetry, Ghalib followed the style of Indian poets and is also considered a pioneer of a new style in Urdu poetry. He was the first poet to introduce philosophical ideas and perspectives into Urdu poetry. The study of Ghalib in Iran dates back more than half a century, but for scholars to gain a deeper understanding and to explore the linguistic, intellectual, and sociological aspects of this poet’s world, comprehensive research, and significant works that encompass his life, times, works, and thoughts are still necessary.
In this lecture, themes and identity-creating components in Ghalib Dehlavi's poetry has been examined from a hermeneutic and intellectual perspective; which will include the environment and Culture of India, Persian Language and Literature in India, The Indian Style, Mysticism and Sufism, Religion, Music and Art, Wisdom and Ethics and Eulogy and Elegy.
