my childhood memories smhhhh. That blind guardian intro ohh god!!! I started to listen this band when I meet this precious game. Im gonna download this king and get the tiger for seraphim again lol. First survivals of gen Z ( 95-99) know this have fun boyz. 2024 yea its still playable.
I adored this game when I first got it on PlayStation and the character defined mounts are awesome. Though I love the most part of the intro, the first game's intro was by far better. The Blind Guardian concert in this game was just amazing. The first Sacred has a bigger place in my heart though.
sacred and sacred 2 were such a good games for the time they were released in as it was better than diablo in that it had normal save system and you could make your own combo skills were you didnt have to had to smash skill buttons million times. It was the first game that even got my father into hack and slash games were he would play sometimes more than me.
Never played Sacred 2 but I'm such a fan of the first one, Sacred: Underworld. Specially of its world map, no loading screens and items that remind me of Diablo 2. It is sad to see this determination didn't caught many attention. And with Sacred 3 came out, it was the nail to the coffin.
I'm really enjoying this series around A-rpg and I'm also thankful for it, you helped me (re)discovered a lot of great games so thank you for that, also for they thoughts and reflection around the genre.
Best friggen quest In the game and far better then finding a Lightsaber. The fact you help out the band get invited to a concert but you get to watch sed concert literally in game, then you get some of the coolest weapons in the game all having instrumental sound effects. Honestly the skill system aside this was a game that did a lot right. And of course it had some issues however it was so worth it. Even if co op was meh the free play open world option and the insane scaling difficulty put it on a whole other level.
You get a quest to retrieve their instruments that are weapons and it unlocks a blind guardian in game concert cut-scene as well as. This is a great game.
actually blind guardian appear in the game, one of the quests its to recover their instrument from some harcore skeleton fans. And have a cutscene with a concert when they sing that song.
I just got an itch a few days ago to play this game. I got it around 2011 and I dumped over 5000 hours into it, this was without any form of dlc's so having the gold edition is a pure treat. This game has massive layers and the ability to literally make the character you want has not been done since, the only down draw the game had was no respec.. I am not aware currently if that is still the case in gold. One of the things that made the game hard in me years ago was I never had the energy or the cooldown was far to high, this is due simply by the fact I used every + skill I came across, I had no idea that + to skills worked instead of actually using the skills thus keeping the cooldowns insanely low while still packing a more then decent punch.
The german voice acting in Sacred 1 and 2 is kinda great because they got the german voices of some well-known actors like Bruce Willis, Nicholas Cage and Russel Crowe. Your character has the german voice of LT. Worf. I think they even make subtle jokes about that.
Do you know how perferctly on time this is? Me and my friend a week ago were talking about the games to play and she went like, Wanna play some sacred2 together? I saw my friends do it years back, always wanted to try. And so we did, and now we're hooked hard. I thought about how crazy would it be if someone else still plays it now, and boy oh boy am I surprised to see you tackle it!
Holy fuck, this is hitting steam?! Man I loved watching my grandpa play this! The opening cut scene introduced me to Blind Guardian, one of my favorite bands. Didn’t think I’d ever see it again!
Imho some of the top tier video game cut scenes were the ones from warcraft 3 and the frozen throne expansion. There was super legit story telling I was legitimately invested in the story of Illidan, Sylvanas and Arthas. I played as much to find out how the story ended as I enjoyed the gameplay.
I think the game took about 30-40 hours for me. A lot of people really love this game, but I found the side-quests to become an absolute slog about half way through the game. At all times you are just inundated with them. I will admit I really really love the Temple Guardian though. I wish more ARPGs let us play weird stuff like that.
I flipping loved playing this and the first game back in the day and I played them a lot. Sadly never finished any of them, kept being distracted with other stuff. I've fallen in love with Blind Guardian - Sacred World when it was played during the quest, it was epic af. Ah the memories. I really fear the KOTOR remake's gonna be hot trash. The woman who was hired to re-write it or whatever apparently said KOTOR isn't her favorite (which in itself isn't necessarily bad), hates SW fans and tells them stuff like die mad, among other things. Doesn't give a whole lot of confidence. :/
Actually since you talked about it I have been thinking about getting those bone conducting headphones. Only thing is they work mainly on Bluetooth and could be that I have to get an extension for my PC to get them to work properly. As I easily get headaches when wearing regular headphones because they put pressure on my head.
do bone-conductive headphones *not* put pressure on your head? they have to sit in contact with your skull bones right? do they just kinda lightly sit on them?
As a LONG time player of the sacred games let me tell you I don't think this is the game for you wonder. Just making a single toon can take 5+ hours of work just to pick what skills you want and then you have to take how to work your skills right and elemental damages and stuff... It's a LOT of fun if you have the time to put in but if not then your just going to be ether bored on bronze or die on silver level and that's just the baby levels still have 3+ levels of difficultly after them
As a long time player myself I would disagree on some of what you said. Yes it can take hours to setup a character if you have no idea what things do regardless of if any are or are not self explanatory this is true, however this is coming from a long time player right? So we know how setups and skills work. It is a progressional game of learning what fits better into your playstyle and of course that can take many hours, however as a friend proved looking at a small guide watching a yt video now almost negates that frustration and consumption of time completely. You shouldn't be trying to discourage someone from playing instead maybe give some tips? Like Q on keyboard is the aoe pickup or holding alt allows or in place attack and casting.
Coming from Sacred1 I didn't like the weird feeling of Sacret 2 at first but the longer I play it's slowly grew on me. It's only few bird eye view A-RPG that give me feeling of openworldness with a lot of interesting humor waiting to discover not just mindless hack/slash. I really hope they will make more sequal like this in the future.
Wow... I just skipped to the end and you still didn't know, what the runes were for? Have you even taken your time at the beginning to look at the controls and stats at all? I mean, sure, you skipped the character stuff and history at the beginning and you obviously haven't played the first part of it. Maybe it's just me, I don't know, but when I can use consumable stuff in the beginning from my inventory, I actually want to know what I did there and won't play any further until I do.
reasons to wear bikini in battle you're fighting place that is very hot but not sunny your god demands it your body in naturally or magically more resistant than any armor, you have access to. for some reason your power increases with skin exposure whatever you're fighting can over come any armor you have so you want to minimize weight and maximize mobility.
Not to be rude or totally blinded with nostalgia but you've barely read text, haven't figured out that runes are Sacred's consumables to choose and learn combat arts (spells/abilities equivalent) from and you're ready to rank? xD At least finish the tutorial. Also, Sacred (the og) is fully playable on newer systems either with some stutter and low res or 1-3 mods flawlessly with high res and considered a rough and janky cult classic in some European countries, especially Germany where it's originated from. Still a similar, half-errand, half-joking manner of a lot of side-questing though, so you might not like it either.
Blind Guardian for the intro is just awesome :D
Hanzi has a very recognizable voice
I secretly dream about the day then THQ Nordic remakes sacred 2 for modern systems and maybe even spoil us with sacred 4

It is often on steam sale! Sacred Gold and sacred with add-on for just 2 bucks!
I wish some company can bring sacred back to life

Sad you turned off "commentary" in the sound options...they really lighten the mood a lot of times.
Wait.... what year is it? ^-^
This game was great! It also introduced me to the band blind guardian who've had a little reference questline in this.
Same here dude. That song is Amazing
Agreed!
This was the best side quest ever 😂👍🎸

Oh god.... I barely remember, that's Blind Guardian in the Intro song. As in, yes, the German Metal band. The song's called Fallen Angel.
Seraphim BFG glass cannon build, so much fun.

i love sacred 1 and 2, sacred 2 should be played with community patch tho, it fixes the hourly crash and has multiplayer servers running
This game was great!
Holy fuck, this is hitting steam?! Man I loved watching my grandpa play this! The opening cut scene introduced me to Blind Guardian, one of my favorite bands. Didn’t think I’d ever see it again!
Keep in mind, I think Yahtzee reviewed Sacred 3 in the early 2010's, this is probably a 00's game.
I remember this game being VERY difficult to find. I had to buy it used from a GameStop several towns over. Good times!

Tbh only very few games ever came close to the cutscene quality blizzard and square enix had in theirs. Especially during the warcraft 3 era.
@@Syler321 agreed StarCraft was also pretty spectacular but warcraft 3 was the one that has always stood out in my mind
whaaaattt you never played sacred 2.it was such a cool game.its a bit clunky but really fun, especially the community patch ^^
Just started it my self need abit of help its kinda overwhelming
Noooo the commentary is the best ^^
2008 i played the crap outta this game
Been watching since fallout 4 molded games you have recorded

That intro tho 😳😂

@@BrianatorFTW They 'wrap' around your head, and as far as I have seen they 'sit' on your ears. The weight numbers I have seen is less then 50 grams.

I'm pretty sure I've seen an ad for this game today
doing games like sacred 2 then 3 just to see what happened or dungeon siege 2 then 3 spellforce 1 and 2 then 3 all in the same vain as 2000s gems
Sacred 1 Was ok... But I felt Sacred 2 Jumped the Shark with its crazyness...
How does this play on Steam Deck?
Was it just me or the intro song was made by a... Very well known bardic/epic metal band...? Cofblindguardiancof
Its not you. Theres an ingame concert as one of the quest rewards

There's no third game.
