MTB is one of those skills that if I take any sort of break, I feel like a complete newb. I find I have to ride 3 times a week min to stay confident and keep my fitness up. Congrats on working again!
Amazing Cat. Well done and thanks for sharing the truth about loosing confidence. I think it happens to us all at some stage and your tips on line choice etc is really helpful. As always you are great motivation 🤙🤙🤙
🎉well done Cat , great to see you back 👍🏾 You’re 💯 right about that root , they’re so slippery and can catch you out without any warning ❗️ you did amazing 🤩 well done!!
Hey Cat Delighted you are working again after losing your job during covid. I totally get how the falls have knocked your confidence - took me months to feel loose again after a bad fall up in Rostrevor. Keep going your confidence will come back! 😊
Thanks so much, delighted to be back! I’ll keep working at it, had another fall since so that hasn’t helped but will keep working on the techniques which will hopefully help! 🙌🙌
Great wee video. Just shows you being of the bike for a while can slow you down. Watched a few of your older vids and you have been flying along. You will be flat out again soon 👌
@@CatMTBPilot yes but still a twist insurance didn’t pay out lol due to I mr was nicked out of a works vehicle, they said it was insured for personal use only ffs. So £6.000 out of pocket thankfully the shop I brought the ALLMTn 6 gave me discount on the new one
That’s Ticknock? Ive never seen that trail. Or maybe my Chicken Line brain rides it a completely different way and I just dont recognise it. Great to see you back and being so honest. Real content !!!!
I find it hard to go from an e to a normal bike, just the extra weight of the e helps in the corners , normal e bikes are just too skitty and you end up running too soft sus to compensate
That’s interesting, I actually find going back to my analogue bike much easier as it’s so much lighter and nippy and also not as sore when it lands on top of you! 🤣
I have clips on the analogue and flats on the e so it helps me not to get too many bad habits I hope. Funny enough I don’t actually mind the clips at all now but would not like them on the heavy e bike as I think I’d be asking for trouble!
The worst crashes I’ve had have all been on ROOTS because there’s no warning they can be literally like ice ! Bpw has a black run called “ Enter the dragon “ with HUGE jumps but I tell you something it’s easier than the other trails because it’s got no roots to deal with, it has some big drops but I find that easier because you still have grip on the landing 😊keep it going and well done 👏 👏👏👏
@@CatMTBPilot Yeah definitely 👍🏾, if it’s wet even on a climb a slippery root can end up in a nasty way , my advice is to approach them straight or just go around so you can still carry on the ride , you’re going great though 😀
I’ve got a question about flying to ask you 😊( sorry I’m a geek I absolutely LOVE flying 😂) but when we’re on a flight and the engines slow down and we lose altitude why don’t the pilots just say “ we’re now beginning our descent “ because I crap myself thinking “the engines have stalled …why are we going so slow 😂!!!!!!
Some airlines have a procedure where they “ding” the seatbelt sign to alert the cabin crew that they are starting descent. But yes there is no procedure to alert the passengers, it’s probably because some days it may only be a stepped descent which means you’d only descend a small bit at a time. But it’s an interesting point!! 🤣🙌

Yeah it’s so funny how the skills disappear so quickly or at least that’s what I find! Thanks so much, delighted to be back working. 🙌

Yes it’s in Ticknock, before red tractor! Not sure of the name of it thou. Thanks so much John. 🙌
Not unlike it alright Dara!
@@CatMTBPilot doh. I have rode it. But not the way you and dec do it 😂. Enjoy the hols.

Awesome to see you back Cat. What type of planes do you get to fly?
I fly the ATR 42/72 and the Embraer 170/190, currently I’m flying the ATR 72 and loving it!!
Great Video, May I know where this place is?
Thank you for watching! It’s in Ticknock thou I’ve no idea what the name of the trail is!
Which motor broke? Glad you're still at it
It was the Specialized Kenevo Expert but thankfully it must have just been water as it worked again after a day or so!!
E-Bike vs analog... Have you tried flats vs clips to get the confidence back?
I have clips on the analogue and flats on the e so it helps me not to get too many bad habits I hope. Funny enough I don’t actually mind the clips at all now but would not like them on the heavy e bike as I think I’d be asking for trouble!
Was that a snort?
I’m not sure!
where'd it go?
🤣 I wish I knew!!!
@@CatMTBPilot sometimes we need to keep in mind that's it's just 'good' to be back on the bike!
Yeah exactly, remember it’s so much fun! 🙌🙌
@@CatMTBPilot i do my best at this point to remember that every time i'm out there. just 'being' outdoors is the win! merry x-mas.
