This guy absolutely is producing this stuff as art pieces, whatever he says. None of it is for wearing really, it's for having and looking at. His 'I am not an artist' line is in the same vein as Magritte's 'this is not a pipe'. That said, the rubberized horse is pretty cool. I'm pretty sure those aren't real teeth either, they appear to be ceramic or resin, probably the same as dentures.
Dude, I love these deep dives into fashion stories and concepts, it's so unique. I really hope and believe you'll grow more in popularity, this is great
Intestine as a clothing material isn't that weird. When worked with tiny stitches of sinew thread, tanned by soaking and smoking it, you can make a completely water tight material good for raincoats or protective packaging and the fact it's translucent and often crinkly gives it an interesting effect. Kniting it is a little weird though, especially with that photo looking like such a loose knit that the waterproof properties are entirely nullified. But a tighter knit intestine sweater? With the soaked and smoked tanning method? I'd wear it
This designer is more akin to a sculptor than a fashion designer. Funny how mad ppl get since it’s not mass produced and or conventionally wearable like everything is today
I’ve been following Carol for a couple of years and getting information about his work it’s very interesting. Of all of my research of fashion he’s for sure at the top of the best and most unique
I’d unironically wear the last one. As long as it’s not horrible to wear and doesn’t smell (which hearing the rest of these it probably does) it’s a great statement. Injecting dye into veins sounds terrifying but it’s pretty regular it’s used a lot of different medical applications.
