How to Raise Millions of Atlantic Salmon on Sea Farm - Salmon Processing in Fish Factory
- Atlantic salmon farming has traditionally been dominated by a small number of farming regions - Chile, Norway, Canada, and Scotland - as several natural conditions often have to be present to ensure optimal salmon farming production. Such conditions include: cold water temperatures varying between 8°C and 14°C.
The salmon farming production cycle lasts about 3 years. The first year of production takes place in controlled freshwater environments, and then the farmed salmon are transported to seawater cages. Once the farmed salmon reach a harvestable size, they are transported to processing plants to be prepared for sale. For consumers, most farmed salmon is sold as salmon fillets, although you can also purchase whole fish.

There have been problems with farming and the Alaskan farms were shut down to allow natural stocks to increase their numbers. Also, farm ones are not as healthy to eat as wild caught! Do your research on this issue!
Way to explain The Atlantic Salmon farming process Noal Farm! We must eat and fish is a superb choice!
Amazing sea videos ❤️ really awesome channel and actually I love fisheries ❤️
Keren mantap, budidaya salmon premium Norwegia... Pantas dihargai lebih ❤️
Salmon are the best!
Not to long ago we watched a UA-cam video that showed bags of chemicals being dumped into the offshore Norwegian Salmon farms for medical reasons. The whole point was that the fish were sick and we should avoid them. We have avoided Norwegian Salmon since then. I'd like to see that industry explain and defend the practice.
Yeah, thats true. Some years ago, I attended a lecture from a marine biologist, where he explained all thats wrong with farmed fish. Basically farmed fish ruins everything - The sourounding life and the farmed fish itself. He was very negative about it.
So I have also made a boykot of farmed fish..
it is better to get a whole fish from local bazaar
@@garrettgentry4417 there is a difference between 'farmed fish' and 'wild fish'. How do you define 'wild fish'?
For me, 'wild fish' is a fish living wild and totally natural to its respective nature, and therefore definitely ok to buy (as a costumer) - If the fish is caught ethically though. And not caught in a way that destroys the natural life sourounding that particular fish species.
I tend to look for the MSC logo when I buy fish. As far as I am informed, the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is a good indicator to tell if a fish is sustainably caught 😉🙂
@@bekirsivri80 that surely depends on the Bazaar. But if the fish is caught sustainably from the wild nature, sure - A Bazaar is a great (Hopefully local) choice.
I'm from Denmark. We dont have that many Bazaars around 😅😉
@@theisjacobsen9611that is just an individuals opinion do more research farmed fish is here to stay and exports are growing
Looks like a great place to work😊
Having spent ten thousand hours underwater, working for these farms, I can assure you they produce a beautiful product. Most all of the environmental concerns are either overblown or made up.
Antibiotics are minimally used, only when necessary, for bacteria infections, the same as with humans. Many farm animals get it in their feed daily as it acts like a growth hormone. They are also expensive and cost to administer them.
Salmon in farms cannot be over crowded as it is unhealthy for them and slows growth.
At the farm I worked for, you couldn't even see the school of fish much of the time when diving in the pens.
The environment under and around the farms had more marine life than beyond them.
The floats that floated the farms were covered with barnacles and mussels. As a hobby we hung bags of oysters to grow.
I've always understood that people didn't want to see the farms from their waterfront homes. But the erroneous accusations have been just that.
When I encountered one of these "eco-terrorist" bashing the farms with false information,
the first thing I'd ask them if they had ever been to a salmon farm and even more, ever dove in and around one?
As someone that grew up in the bush. When it comes to greenies, they literally all hate nature and their understanding of what happens on farms or even in nature is all propaganda or seen in disney movies. The majority of them haven't even planted a single tree in their entire lives. Just ignore them.
I've first hand seen elephants starve to death because some dutch eco idiots didn't want us to cull the herds and caused a massive international outcry. They ate all the available food, destroyed all the trees and then starved to death slowly and painfully.
What was the feed made of? The whole thing looks healthy, but if the feed comes from fish with higher level of contaminants, they themselves will be full of contaminants mostly in the fat.

Quá tuyệt vời.1 quy trình đáng khâm phục.họ nuôi hàng triệu con cá hồi quá tuyệt 👍👍👍
I really love the cyclic process.
Thats by no means a cyclic process, the salmons are fed tons of fishflour
@@jakobullrich9479 And the amount of fish feces that falls to the sea bottom, because of the heavy concentration of so many salmon in such a small enclosed area, is causing a lot of problems and polluting the ocean.
Food farm is sustainable methode and easily could more delicious even tasty then wild food❤❤❤❤
#1 most polluted farmed fish is shrimp #2 salmon. Buy wild or not at all
Wow very nice video thanks you very much

I have seen so many videos saying that it is MUCH healthier to eat wild caught salmon. This video doesn't show the negatives of fish farming.
Of course it didn’t. It’s basically a propaganda piece for farmed salmon.
didn't list all the stuff in the feed
Salmon #2 most polluted farmed fish in the world. #1 is shrimp
Fantastic video
It's fantastic!!!!
Fact: wild fish is more delicious than farm fish.
Your mom is delicious because she's WILD 🤫🤫🤫

well i dont have time to go hunt salmon like a bear
@@arnoldthegreat4138 Where I live HUGE salmon come up stream to spawn every year in the fall and they are like shooting fish in a barrel easy to catch.
@@arnoldthegreat4138 😂😂 most stores carry wild salmon but these farms provide a cheaper salmon that stores can then sell at same price because consumers are so uninformed.
I like noal farm videos on UA-cam from the imperial county California 👍👍🖐️👍 and happy New year 🎊🎊🎉💐
Thank you
Wow this salmon looks so great when chemical is hidden.
Brilliant 💖💖💖
It's interesting how much of the heavy metals do they contain and how much antibiotics and colorants are they given.
nothing in norway the have laws and regulations on using antibotics and the water is fresh and no colloring
You still believe in santa😂
@@hjalmarastrom8960 So where the pigmentation comes from? C'mon man, the colour of the meat is from crustacean. They don't eat them on the farm. It's all synthetic vitamin A derivatives in the food PELLETS.
a lot of anti-parasitic meds and poor-quality feed
What is stated without evidence by vegans and communists, can be dismissed without evidence.
For something that lays so many eggs and is massively produced they sure are rediculously expensive
takes 3 years to harvest and cost of feed, system, man power.

Fresh Atlantic Salmon Fillets, 1.90 - 2.30 lb
$21.43
avg price$9.74/lb
I used to purchase whole salmon for around $7.50 not so long ago. Now, not only can I not find whole fresh salmon, the filets are horribly expensive. I'll just walk a few blocks and go fishing instead. I get to relax and the fish probably won't get caught, but I'm sure not going to pay a king's ransom for a damm piece of fish.
All wild salmon catch in Alaska
Goes to Japan. Mostly, fishing companies in Seattle are owned by Japanese companies. Sad part to it
They are selling farm raised atlantic salmon in Seattle and very expensive.
American Greed
@@nnn5666 like ive said, people do this to themselves. Its all greed. Yet they complain and make propaganda to deepen their own pockets.
Funny thing about "greed" is 90% of the cost of production is complying with regulations and HR requirements voted for by the people complaining about greed.
Admirable !!!!
For a moment in the captain photo i thought it was Ibrahimovic 🤣🤣🤣
Good 👍
Thank you for the alternative to wild caught marine. We should only harvest what we farm, and you are setting a good example. Bless you. ML. ❤️🙏🏽
Buddy fish farming like this does more harm to wild salmon than good .
Get the facts that they don't show you
No we shouldn't. We should eat whatever can be caught by individuals.

The only issue I have is that even for small salmon fillets they are super expensive.
So agree..
In germany salmon is super cheap! 10-12 USD per pound. but in norway this whole process of farming salmon is destroying the nature!!
Bro its 2 years to feeding them before harvest you think the cost ? Sure expensive
yep...a fillet of salmon used to be $20 now it's $30, it's getting ridiculous, so I stopped eating salmon . Could not afford it anymore.

The meat is white , this fish is a hybrid and it only grows as fast because it’s genetically modified. It would take a fish to get to that size double or triple in nature . In order to market it as Salmon they feed it pellets laced with keratin which is orange . Basically they dye the meat before slaughtering them because people associate Salmon with that color . In actuality, they are closer to trout or cod fish then Salmon . They also can’t reproduce naturally, it’s similar to Koi fish but those are decorative.
that's fine with me but what else is in the feed is important
🥰🥰🥰wow😊😊😊
Wow 👍🐳
Actually, it's the feed that contains a lot of poison.
I find this amazing. If not it would be impossible to get salmon to everyone
Gracias

Fish farming in the sea makes more sense than anything else, we've been doing to feed ourselves.
If wild salmon tastes better than farmed salmon... could it be that farmed salmon isn't getting the variety of food supply that wild fish get?
Does the fish feed mill acquire the waste product from a variety of fishing vessels/ canneries?
i.e. Oyster/ crustaceans/ anemone/ squid.... ?
As time goes on, they will figure this stuff out. Personally, I think that if it is smoked, I can’t tell the difference.
Excellent video except for the comment that it is "sad" that they are in cages. Aren´t they "happy" that they are given feed and have no predators?
I love salmon. 🤗😋
