The Pod Express came out of nowhere for me -here's how to adjust the noise gate, and change the assignment of the ON button - really useful features that make this thing even more useful than it might have seemed....

After Dad says, "Now she wants to look at the Pod Express.." she looks at the camera like, "No I don't. What's he talking about?"
What a beautiful little gem! The pod is also fine.
Your daughter is absolutely lovely!
Brings me back to when my daughter was that age - enjoy every minute, time really flies. These videos will also make great memories for her too. Cheers
Would love to see a POD Express with IR switching as well as additional preset options built in.
This looks amazing for beginners who really want all in one unit, thanks, this was a great video John.
Greatness in little packages. Both are amazing.
You are one of my guitar heroes. Why are you not mentioned in the same breath as Robben Ford and Eric Johnson and countless other guitar greats? Time for a world tour! Your reviews are always interesting. Thanks for putting out such great content.
Your two videos on this sold me. Thanks 👍
Such fantastic playing at the start - love it!
Great video. Wish they wouldn't have made the enclosure out of plastic. Even so, the tones you dialed in were solid.
Love your vids sir, AND your playing, I'm a huge fan, BUT, most of all, I LOVE the fact you are such a wonderful father, it's an awesome thing brother.
Your wee one is a star.
Nice chord prog JNC. Thanks for the lovely playing as ever.
Awesome 80s tone/riff at 9:38 ; love it!
The baby is back! Those little hands. She's ready for some legato 😊
So pumped John on your demo yesterday I already ordered it on Reverb (Great Deal) last night... Can't wait to get this on my pedal board, perfect for starters for people who are new to Modelers FUCKING STOKED... it sounds awesome!!! and of Course so do you!!!!!
HELL YEA!!!!!
You’re a fantastic player Jon! And you also have such a talent for making gear sound so good. You always showcase the full potential of gear.
Love it and the POD is ok
I could see bringing one of these to gigs as a backup.
Yep. Honestly, it doesn't sound like a real amp, but it would do in a pinch if my amps failed during a gig.
Thumbnail alone is worth a sub and like!! ❤️🙏🏻❤️
Your daughter is absolutely gorgeous ! Re: the Pod Express, the things I don't like are the multi-entry choices with a lot a button pushing that you tend to forget gradually, so that the pedal ends up in a drawer somehow... Good sounds though (apart the Oblivion your daughter does not seem to like ;-) Greets to both of you !
She's adorable. I'm getting one of these Pod express.
Amazing playing John and cute kid!
The pod express seems like it would be a perfect grab and go practice setup. Great job as always on the video.
Beautiful kid John! Nice vid, thanks for sharing.
That neck pick up sounds incredible
Does it come with a decoder ring? I'm not a fan of these convoluted button press combinations to access the various features. It seems to me that the Boss IR-2 is more straightforward and sounds at least as good, not to mention access to the IRs.
The controls remind me a lot of the Yamaha THR series amps. Not surprising, considering Line 6 is part of the Yamaha Corporation.
This is what I thought too when I saw it. That it’s basically a THR in a pedal.
Lovely duo Review, by the way you are Amazing at Guitar every single note sounds crafted.
Seriously perfect as my guitar lessons device plugged straight into my amp
Is this a Yamaha THRII in a box?
Is it worth buying this to run through a traditional amp? Or is it like other modelers where ideally you'd be playing direct into your computer or through an FRFR monitor?
software, driver and firmware are on the line 6 downloads page, appears to be for this pod express guitar, but won't be able to confirm until tomorrow when mine arrives. released 3/5/24.
The finish on that guitar is gorgeous
Can you try hooking both The Boss IR2 and the Pod Express together? Or would that be overkill? I'm just curious if one could use both together and come up with something interesting.
Man, look at your kid. Time goes by fast.
@@BaroqueBlues pretty sure that'd not what he meant😂
How about the POD Express (for effects) connected to the IR2's loop (for amps & IR's) ?
I NEED to know how you got that tone at 10:00 😭😭
I'll be going for the BOSS IR-2 personally, as I still don't think the Line 6 sounds are 'quite there' (and I've used Line 6 modellers for many years now), whilst Boss has pretty much nailed it with the IR-2 plus it can import IR's, which is a big plus point!
I've had the opposite experience. As I've owned boss me-80, boss katana, and for a few months gt 1000. Even the gt 1000 seemed to lack compared to my helix sounds. Weird
and the little one is beautiful!!!
Looking forward to your new band. Is she the producer?
Pls review the katana go
How have you got this set up? Every review keeps saying you can use it in multiple ways , and every guitarist could have a use for this- but no one seems to be saying how they have it set up? It's difficult as a consumer to figure out if it's for us when everyone seems to be ignoring that- seems a bit suspect that all reviewers have glossed over it. It would be good to know if this is straight into a DAW, into a power amp, in the front etc.
I saw a video of a guy who connected 2 extra switches so you then have 4 switches to select.....can probably gig with the little thing.
She's so cute and also so bemused!
How does it compare to hx stomp?
Cordy in the corduroy
Boss katana Go video coming soon?
heyyy☺☺☺❤❤❤
Baby!
I can see Who’s in charge of cute in Your town.
Smol baby
She's definitely not into the Line 6 Oblivion
Let her test it. In Holland there is this saying: children will always say the truth.
Will she be the Screaming Legato Queen of the Future???
If only there was a way to change the delay subdivisions
It costs as much as my ampero mini and has waaaaaay less capabilities, does not load IRs (really? In 2024?), and it's plastic. The ampero has so many nice factory presets that you're bound to find a few good ones without tweaking. Damn my 40 dollar cube baby loads IRs. I'll pass.
Shame they didn't go for a metal case to make it more gig worthy. £199 seems a little on the high end. Are the amps true Helix/HX models or 'derived from'? Line 6 certainly seem to be aiming more at the lower end of the market these days.
I don't think POD Express is meant to compete with the IR-2. Totally different use cases as far as I can see. The IR-2 is solely amp and cab models, meant for a pedal board... no effects available, so you add your own. The POD Express is all-in-one with most of the effects you would regularly use built in and able to be saved in presets. Sure it would be cool to be able to load IRs.... but it would also be cool if it included more effects.... and switches for each effect... and an amp to drive a cabinet... and a built-in DI... and the ability to use more than one of each type of effect at once... the list goes on, but each one of those adds size and (more importantly) PRICE!! I suspect someone looking at an IR-2 wouldn't consider this unit, and vice versa. I personally, wouldn't even consider an IR-2 as it's not what I want a unit like this for. I would buy this as a quick solution for a jam night or easy gig, and as a backup for my Helix for more involved uses.
She's thinking "why plastic?"
Test
How can your kid be so behave? Wish my son could last a minute without being wild.
*IRs and FX Loop
I use it as my headphone amp with my board when the family is home, or people are sleeping. Is it perfect? No, but it's pretty damn good, and I don't have to turn on my CPU.
