- A coloratura soprano take on this aria...
Although not a big fan of Sumi Jo, I like her version of this aria. I don't know if it is the fluidity of her voice or the abundance of raw emotion in her interpretation...
About the score: As you can tell I am using pdf files for my videos and there is no way to transpose the pdf scores.. So, some of my videos may not be a match.
I hope you can figure out all those scribbles over the score.. Some do match the way Jo is singing and some don't. But this aria has such variation in interpretation that I doubt there can be a perfect-match edition of this score. Also, I do not have the choir partition.

Sumi is in my opinion one of the most talented and unique singers of all time! And this piece of music is just breathtaking...
I am very pleasantly surprised with Sumi Jo's rendition of this aria. She gives it much more weight and substance than I would have expected.

Like so many arias performed by Sumi Jo, finished all too soon. A gorgeous voice, very stylish, infinitely expressive.
Thank you for making this wonderful video. I've listened to the piece several times tonight and really enjoy getting to read the music as she sings.

Amen - I couldn't agree more. My only grouse is that nowadays (2013) Sumi only does occasional recitals in Europe & is difficult to pin down.
She's also one of the most glamorous of women, ever !!
