Hello there. It's been awhile. Quite awhile. I figured I'd happily take a quick break from recording (warmly, might I add) my very first album and give you a little intel on the song that you're hopefully about to listen to (and maybe even watch!). Here are the facts: - The song is called "Nothing Without Love." - A lot of times songs come to me in the middle of the night while I'm sleeping, or while I'm driving. This one showed up in the shower. - It was recorded with Jeff Bhasker and Emile Haynie (both worked on the album Some Nights as well as "Just Give Me A Reason" and "Headlights"). - A lot of it was made in a house that we rented that wasn't supposed to be a recording studio, but we turned it into one anyways. - I remember taking a trip upstate to finish the lyrics, and returning thinking that I'd finally been able to say everything I'd ever been feeling in that moment, and it's applied to my life in so many different ways ever since. - This is probably my favorite song I've ever written. The one I've listened to the most on repeat. And I can't pinpoint what it is about it that makes its so special to me. Which makes me love it even more. Enough rambling. I'm dying for you to hear - and I should probably get back to work. Thank you for your patience and putting up with me. I love what I do. And I wouldn't do it if it wasn't for you guys. Nate's voice is just...so unique. In a way that I can't even describe, except that when I hear him sing, I literally get a feeling inside that I've never had from anything else. That feeling is also indescribable. It's just... Nate. It's the feeling of Nate. And I love it. Every time, I love it.
The weirdest thing is that I almost feel like his voice SHOULDN'T be so lovely. Like, objectively, he rarely uses glissendos, and his pitch jumps around...like, I almost WANT it to sound bad, because then I could understand it, but... it's always beautiful. In a strange, incomprehensible way, his voice is beautiful.
My girlfriend suggested this song, One of the most beautiful and heart touching songs I have ever heard. This song deserves so much more recognition. Beautiful song!
I like the way he presents the song.. the tone of the song is so enticing, captivating.. maybe not everyone can enjoy it.. but I'm one of those people who really really enjoy it..

I miss this guy's music so much. Both his work with Jack and Anton and his solo work is amazing, and god damn we need someone like this in the music industry. I'm not old or anything and I don't wanna sound like one of those geezers saying "music was better back in the day" but I'm sorry I just miss when people would write songs with powerful instrumentation and soul. Nate Ruess understood that, I don't know why it isn't more common.
You can really see his passion and excitement and sheer joy in all his music. He looks like he’s having so much fun and it makes me really happy. Beautiful as always.
The biggest musical tragedy of the decade is that we couldn’t listen to Nate and the unbelievable talented group that was F.U.N. through the tough times the last couple of years. We needed you and your tragic but optimistic songs.

The song is incredible. Nate's voice is unbelievable. But this isn't Fun. Fun. wasn't just Nate's voice. It was Jack and Andrew's various instruments. Most importantly, Fun. was the way that Nate, Jack and Andrew worked together. The way they played together. It created perfect harmony. Nothing will ever be Fun. except Fun. Fun. must come back sooner or later. If it is years, or even decades, then so be it. Fun. will be more than worth the wait. I wish them all the best in their solo endeavors. Amazing song. Long post. Sorry in advance. I know that this song is geared towards romance, however I feel a need to share my story. I am 38, in the military and served 12 years overseas. Two years ago, I received the call that my mother was sick. The military moved me home, I moved in with her and became her primary care take throughout treatment. I enjoyed every moment with her. We used to watch TV for bonding time because she didn't have much energy to do anything else. One of her "shows" was the voice. She would record them and wait on me to watch. One night, Nate reuss was a guest trainer. Mom nor I had heard of him, I knew his band but not him. Mom was mesmerized by his voice. I distinctly remember her saying that he gave her goosebumps when he sang this song. Eight months later, sadly my mother passed. In her home, while I held her hand and as all of the family went to bed. The next few days were hectic and my aunt, bless her soul, hung around because she didn't want to leave me alone. My aunts ended up leaving late one night and this had been the first time that I had to be in my mother's house by myself...without her. I know there will be skeptics, but I went into the living room, sat down with my mother's cat and said, "well, it's just me and you now, buddy." I turned on the TV and Jimmy Fallon said "ladies and gentlemen, Nate Reuss." He sang this song. I hadn't given this song any more thought until this came on. It was instantly like my mother was with me comforting me. The part of the song where he says, "show me a sign..." Made me break out into laughter and crying, all at once. It was without a doubt the most touching and beautiful moment of my life. I have tried to reach out to Nate Reuss but he doesn't have any media platforms. I guess I am hoping that maybe there is a chance of him reading this comment, just so he can know that this song had touched my life in a way that I will never be able to repay. It brought me so much comfort and probably will the rest of my life . if you have time, please listen to the song one more time, without watching the video and see the beauty that it brought me on that night. The power of music, eh? So, this long post is just a shot in the dark for me to pass a sincere thank you to Nate Reuss for sharing his beautiful gift with the world and for writing this song and bringing happiness to this world.

I distinctly remember her saying that he gave her goosebumps when he sang this song. Eight months later, sadly my mother passed. In her home, while I held her hand and as all of the family went to bed. The next few days were hectic and my aunt, bless her soul, hung around because she didn't want to leave me alone. My aunts ended up leaving late one night and this had been the first time that I had to be in my mother's house by myself...without her. I know there will be skeptics, but I went into the living room, sat down with my mother's cat and said, "well, it's just me and you now, buddy." I turned on the TV and Jimmy Fallon said "ladies and gentlemen, Nate Reuss." He sang this song. I hadn't given this song any more thought until this came on. It was instantly like my mother was with me comforting me. The part of the song where he says, "show me a sign..." Made me break out into laughter and crying, all at once. It was without a doubt the most touching and beautiful moment of my life. I have tried to reach out to Nate Reuss but he doesn't have any media platforms. I guess I am hoping that maybe there is a chance of him reading this comment, just so he can know that this song had touched my life in a way that I will never be able to repay. It brought me so much comfort and probably will the rest of my life . if you have time, please listen to the song one more time, without watching the video and see the beauty that it brought me on that night. The power of music, eh? So, this long post is just a shot in the dark for me to pass a sincere thank you to Nate Reuss for sharing his beautiful gift with the world and for writing this song and bringing happiness to this world.
