Here’s my take: I think this is less art and more kink/fetish content. It doesn’t feel like an edgy art project just trying to shock people because usually those don’t have the same level of consistency of theme and they aren’t as long running as this channel. Edgy shock art typically just throws tasteless imagery and loud music at the viewer. This definitely feels like someone who is into non-con, kidnapping, misogyny, cannibalism, snuff, bondage, etc. This content is probably compiled and posted publicly in one place for their own gratification and to put it out there for others who enjoy it. And this absolutely isn’t me excusing this channel, this guy sucks and this is NOT a healthy or moral or sane representation of bdsm, this is the kind of guy who takes advantage of kink communities to abuse women and get away with it.

I was going to say the same! None of this strikes me as "social commentary" or "art" or whatever, it definitely seems like this guy gets off on this kind of content. Him following/confronting people in the street and wordlessly filming them sealed the deal for me. The goal is to make people uncomfortable, especially women but not exclusively. That's a kink, and it's based in a fascination with others' discomfort that translates easily into sadism and all the other gross shit on the channel. It's how he exercises his kink irl without breaking any laws, and the channel is for the taboo fantasies he can't/won't actually play out. Im amazed i scrolled so long before seeing a comment like yours!

Just a small correction: The Swedish bunker case briefly mentioned, known in Sweden as "Bunkerläkaren" ("The Bunker Doctor"), did not go on for years. The girl was kidnapped and held prisoner for almost a week by a delusional doctor who wanted to take her, and later on other girls, as his bunker wife. She played along and convinced him to take her back to her apartment to get some stuff, and when they found the door had been locked by police, he simply drove her to the police station when she asked him to. She promised him that she wouldn't tell anyone and he believed her. He just sat down in the waiting room, fully convinced she wouldn't tell a soul. He was promptly arrested. So I'm guessing this is what the channel owner hinted towards. Him being a failure of a kidnapper.

i'm italian and want to possibly offer some cultural background but im 10 minutes in and im already feeling ill so ill come to this comment when i'm done watching lmao
EDIT: alright so... first of all, italy is DEEPLY misogynistic as a country and honestly, i'm not surprised an italian man could make arguments like the "potato" one. also that's just how sex workers act here, they don't want to be bothered because it could either be cops or worse. the english misspellings are also too accurate to be made up (english is not spoken a lot here even though we have to learn it in school).
about the meat: all parts of the animal are usually eaten here, but it's mostly done in the south or by southern immigrants up in the north. if i'm not wrong btw, there was an italian youtube arg that had to do with cannibalism, so maybe they wanted to reference that?
i think this is someone's edgy project which... yeah, this is something one of us could do. we are the country that birthed dario argento and 100 days of sodoma and the director of cannibal holocaust, after all.

As an Italian myself that grew up around modern artists and that had gone to many modern art galleries and the such, I have come to the conclusion that it's partly in our own DNA to dive into disturbing and revolting themes and images when doing any sort of experimental art. This guy is just one of the many jerks that believes that as long asthey slap the word "art" onto any disturbing thing then it's legitimate and justified. Considering how he keeps doing this shit, if I go to Milano and catch him filming people I will surely make him regret it. I don't know if it's something that we can report to the polizia postale, but I surely will try to. This is not even an exploration of disturbing themes, this is misogynistic shit. I am a woman who has c ptsd. When it was at its height, my art was disturbing like this. I was very sick, and a lot of my poetry was sarcasm based but most people did not pick up on it. I wrote disturbing things about being a victim and taking what people throw at victims when blaming them and make it into a poem as if I did want all those things to happen, I made one in the stereotypical mindset of a serial killer instead of how a pos would actually think and function. It was all cringe and upsetting to anyone but a select few who understood it as a social commentary.
These however don’t exactly have that tone I had. It has major edge lord vibes. It could be a pick me girl or an incel. I’m not sure but it’s cringe.

channels like this (and deeper) make me so mad because they are so blatantly disrespectful towards real victims of horrific crimes and it gets them attention because it’s shocking and people want to play detective (not that I blame people for being curious, it’s entirely on the channels for doing it in the first place. although I think it would help if people didn’t spread it around under the pretense of being real).
one theory I saw about this particular channel a while back is that it’s related to some kind of kink or is related to some kind of community that likes to fantasize about this type of thing and use the videos as a visual (for lack of a better term). I don’t know if I believe it (especially because afaik we haven’t found other channels like it), but it definitely explains the uncomfortable creepy nature of the videos.

I’d like so, so much that people stop misusing the terms “ARG” and “Unfiction”. If there is no “game”, as in no interaction with the viewers, no clues to be found, no locations to search, none of this back and forth pushing the narrative forward - then it’s not an ARG! Similarly, if there’s no much of a “fictional narrative” to begin with, it’s not “unfiction”, or at least it’s a really bad one.
Those things have specific definitions. Spooky mysterious videos posted online aren’t by default “ARG” or “Unfiction”. This might sound like the most pedantic of things to hang to, but it really isn’t. People who produce genuine ARGs and Unfiction often goes to great lengths to develop an intriguing, eyecatching, creative story that resonates with people. This shit? That’s literally attention via shock factor at best, and at worst by appealing to sick fantasies of some. It’s being edgy for being edgy. It’s a metaphorical jump scare. Everyone with a minimal knowledge of a editing software can do it. Just call it “creepy shit”. It’s more than appropriate of a term.
People already destroyed the meaning of “social experiment”, so I won’t even complain about that. But there’s still salvation for “ARG” and “Unfiction”, and those are hills worth dying on.
Sidenote: Can we send “deep web”/“dark web” to the shadow realm? If you can find on a video, on UA-cam, or through Google, it’s not “dark web”. I hate it so much, it’s kids at a sleepover telling spooky stories level silliness. There are millions of “gore” sites on “surface web” with more than enough of gross stuff on it. People don’t need to go much far for disturbing footage. People use the dark web far more to buy drugs (that they could also buy on the real world, it’s only a matter of the convenience) than to look at disturbing shit. So we should chill with the “cry wolf”. Just saying. I don’t mean this to anyone specific, I myself am not free from having done that. It’s more a matter of general awareness.

I definitely need to understand more of dark and deep web but I usually don’t use those terms it’s kind of dumb but live leak wasn’t hard to reach. Honestly, I don't understand how people say "it's all fake, y'all are idiots to worry" When seeing this kind of stuff. I live in Italy, near Milan, someone going around filming girls without their consent while glorifying violence, cannibalism and kidnappings, IS WORRYING. It's the psychology, not the content itself. He may have not done anything criminal...yet, but he clearly fantasize about doing so. Reminds me of cases like the guys that wanted to make horror movies and ended up killing a girl, or other "edgy teens" Or "jokers wannabes" That actually ended up doing shit. Things like this shouldn't be underestimated.

Regarding the non-reaction by the sex workers on the street, that whole scene doesn’t work like it does in the movies. Well, except in some rare locations. But overall, sex workers “calling out” to people doesn’t really happen. Most of them have been doing it long enough that they know the signs to look for when a man is wanting a “date”. I used to be intrigued with the idea of sex workers when I was in my early 20’s and tried picking one up in my car…but I hated it. I was new at it and didn’t know how to appropriately interact, so I was obviously almost immediately labeled “the police” lol. So, instead, I visited Asian massage parlors and did so for several years. However, after discovering that the girls in a lot of those types of places are trafficked and forced into that life, I stopped going and haven’t in about 18 years.

In America it is legal to evict poor families during a once in a century pandemic, but illegal for a person to charge another person money in exchange for sex.
Why not just drop the charade and make being poor a crime?

    • @yeez13
      @yeez13 2 роки тому +1

…because poverty has nothing to do with Sex Work unless you make it.
If this comment came from a First World nation, I would implore others to not take it seriously one bit since they’ve never actually known what “Poor” really is outside of movies, TV, Books and pictures.
Most people aren’t poor because they do illegal things and get away with it. If they did “drop the charade”, then we’d be in Mexico* or some other country that people run from as to not be extremely poor and destitute anymore.
To say such a thing denotes a level of privilege I’d be ashamed of admitting I have if I did.
*while Mexico and many other nations have their beauty and splendor on top of their own culture…there’s SUBSTANTIAL REASONS for many coming over. I vaguely remember my Mom saying her parents did because El Paso (the literal ARMPIT OF TEXAS) was a significantly better place to be than any of the border towns; the government is too concerned with fighting Narcos and facilitating drug smuggling (unconfirmed but not unbelievable) by pretending that the Border doesn’t actually exist. My Pops, born in El Salvador, knew EVEN WORSE CONDITIONS THAN MEXICO; his family still refuses to go back there and only passingly acknowledges that he’s from there. Immigrants like my folks (and many people I know) may talk up their cultures and where they came from…but they’d NEVER pretend that being poor in the USA, Canada, or anywhere in West Europe/the UK is ANYWHERE REMOTELY CLOSE TO HOW IT IS ELSEWHERE!

I think it’s most likely someone trying to creep people out with all the ominous comments/stolen videos, but following and filming a bunch of people without their consent is disturbing on its own even if the creator doesn’t have any genuine intention to harm them.
Sex workers are vulnerable as it is, and posting videos of them is creepy and crosses a line imo. I do think it’s someone’s attempt at an ARG without putting in any real creative effort, but I still think it’s incredibly creepy to involve people without their consent.
(Which, side note, I could soapbox for awhile about how a lot of wannabe ARG creators think just posting random ominous tweets, taking screenshots of others’ art, or using people’s traumatic events like in those videos counts as “being a content creator.” Good ARGs require a lot of planning and effort and it’s a bummer seeing the term just get picked up by any creep who wants to harass people or steal other people’s art).

My issues with projects like these are two fold.
    1) in the effort of creating provocative fiction or art, it is absolutely imperative that you keep it fiction, for your viewers and your legal team. Not just the candid filming, but the references to real victims, untenable even for a creep show.
    2) Excessively offensive or proactive art or entertainment deserves to exist, but it needs to stay in its lane. NSFW stays on adult websites or behind parental barriers, and NSFL stuff isn't guaranteed a public or profitable platform at all. And I know that the very point of this in the creator's head is that they want normies to stumble onto it and be shocked, but bruh, no casual UA-cam scroller fuckin asked to be randomly disturbed by your pageantry.

  • @Marshmallow_Trees
    @Marshmallow_Trees 2 роки тому +6

The truly worrisome thing is the sometimes confrontational, sometimes surreptitiously recorded footage of random women in public.
Anyone who does this in such a fashion has a reason, obviously, a dishonest, predatory reason. There is a sort of power one can have when recording another person, especially an unwilling or oblivious person.
A piece of them, a record, a memory of their body, their outward emotions, their behavior becomes the property of the one who recorded them. It’s theirs to review, scrutinize, edit, pervert.
There’s a reason many people just instinctually avoid a camera. It could be in the name of “art,” but there’s more behind it than just self-expression.

    Italian girl here.
I have to say that the way those prostitutes were acting is totally normal here. In my hometown, the street where you would always see prostitutes even during the day was near the biggest mall in town. So yeah, they just minded their own business and did not come near the vehicles themselves: they just waited for clients to approach.
Regarding the content of the channel, I do not find anything artistic in it. Tbh, I don’t really get the ARG or art talk. It seems like somebody who is keeping some sort of archive for themselves, like a playlist of their favorite videos which include their disturbing dark fantasies. I think the owner of the channel is one of those creepy guys who fantasies about doing these despicable acts but never actually acts on his fetishes (at least, this is what I hope). I think he initially just uploaded content he found on other websites or videos from other channels for this purpose. Then, he decided to make his own videos following people on the street. A lot of creeps love making women uncomfortable and just looking at their reaction. I think it’s enough for them to feel some sort of power over these unsuspecting women. The “social experiment” excuse is bullshit. The possibilities are 2: the photographer is the owner of the channel and he is trying to cover up his real intentions; the photographer is an excessively naive guy who can’t grasp the creepy nature behind the act of filming random people on the street and following them like a stalker. The second option seems very unlikely to me, but still… who knows?

21:40 that's a beef tongue. A famous delicacy in Eastern Europe. Very soft meat, especially good in red wine and mushroom sauce. Plenty of recipes online. Try it! At least about the tongue l'm not concerned...

I grew up in Northern California, not terribly far from where Lake and Ng committed their crimes. I remember hearing a lot of awful stuff as a kid about it, and the Yosemite murders in the late 90s (I think).
