the best thing here is that this proves that you don't needvery low drop tunning or cookie monster vocals to be heavy metal.. this sounds better than ⁹⁰% of modern metal music

Gotta say, that drum line and break are fucking scrumptious. Great song/band!

What are you talking about?? KK had the heavier solos in Priest, Glenn was the technical one while KK was the shredder, watch the later concerts before he left Priest and you will see!

Thirty three years ago I was listening to "Ram It Down" for the very first time after buying it with a friend. Then my friend asked me a philosophical question: What kind of music would we listen to when we were forty years old? Hell yeah! I'm almost fifty and I'm banging my head with this video!
Exactly. Many get into music when they're young wanting to be cool with their friends. A lot of them 'grow out of it' when they get older. But when you reach midlife & are the only person you know still listening to it & people look at my music collection & think 'what a nerd', I just laugh to myself cos they really don't get it... As cheesy as it may sound, metal is a way of life, not a trend. The few & the proud live & breathe this shit for life \m/ \m/
I wonder how many people listened to metal in their teens, get into their mid 20s and think they've grown out of it. Later, in their 30s look at a long unplayed Priest, Maiden or whatever CD and think "haha, I used to be into this stuff", and put it on for a laugh. Then they go "Shit! I forgot how good this is!" and the volume goes UP! There's a lot of catching up to do...
This Album is more Judas priest than Judas priest... been a huge priest fan and this hard coming from me..believe you me. Maybe KK is Judas priest....🤯
The four songs that KK's Priest has released and especially this song is a perfect example that K.K. Downing was very important in Judas Priest and in the creation and development of heavy metal music from the beginning. K.K. has shut many mouths and kicked many asses..

Well he was once. Ripper is pretty awful live nowadays. These recordings he obviously spent some time in the studio getting it right, something he will never be able to reproduce live (that debut show they did he was straight cringe)

Mainly between Glen and KK, with Glen not playing as tight anymore and having more and more control of the band via his gilrfriend the JP manager. All felt the band had run its course 40+ years. After JP announced their farewell tour, KK decided he would not partake in it being not happy with the things he endured in the band. But after a couple of months he reconsidered as he wanted to finish the ride. Instead of engaging with him JP instead announced to the press they would do the farewell tour with a replacement guitar player and make at least another album and that KK had retired. This made KK upset as this wasnt true situation. So he quit the band and wrote an agry letter. to his bandmates. Then Glen turned out to have parkinsons and couldnt play anymore.KK expected this to be an opening for his return considering it beingt the 50th year of their existance. But JP rather tour without their original guitar players and now have their producer filling in for Glen. Meanwhile JP doesnt respond to any question about KK not returning to JP. Total silence. With not able to reclaim his place in JP, which legacy is synonymous with him being in it, KK set out to do his own music...doing exactely what he he always done. Hence the band name. Its no solo record perse..but KK doing where he left of ten years ago.
Tim... man... the vocals are better now than during your tenure with Judas Priest, in my opinion. Kk... still got it... so relieved to see this comeback All around, great lineup.
KK is one of the best metal guitarists ever. His wammy bar influenced countless players and nobody puts that feeling on stage as KK does, it is like he is living through his solos.
Agent Steel, Helloween, Iron Maiden, KK's Priest, and Megadeth all releasing an album in the same year. Raven released an album late last year and Saxon is releasing one early next year. What a great time for Classic Metal right now.
