Hey Quick lokk and lotsa negative comment. I think this is a good video series. We only get to ski well by skiing with awareness but there are some good tips here.happy new year to all :)
ok so 1 make nice carved turnes. From the first video. The second video: The basic position: 1 make sure that you don't lean back to much or you will lose your ballance so keep your hands where you can see them.2 Make sure that you dont be stiff when you ride because you can lose ballance and get hurt, so get down in the basic position to get a feal for the terain and stuff. 3 Dont have your skis to close or you will be to stiff, make sure that they are 10 to 15 cm away
The problem is in the forward position, my thighs burn out too fast... it’s too tiring... is there anyway to make it easier and alleviate the forward strain? Really appreciate your videos... it really helps to conceptualize the movements... just need to practice on the terrain to make it become instinctual and natural.
to the person who commented about shins hurting- a week before your ski trip, put on your boots daily, clomp around and do some floor, leg lift exercises in them. Practice squats and other movements that really press your shins into the boots. This will help you identify some "hot spots" that may need adjustment by a boot fitter.
@skiaddict101 Hi 'skiaddict', why does the skier need to stop dragging his uphill pole? Can you explain what you mean. The fact that his poles 'skim' across the snow just shows me that he's nice and relaxed without any excessive tension in his arms/hands/wrists & upper body.
I really like this program its really helpful!! But I am going to sign up for skiing lessons just becase I want the most help since I am a slow learner haha
easy to say and to implement at so well prepared and long slopes :) and i believe these movies are not made in Danmark at all. at chapter 0 lector said something about Alps skiing thus I conclude that it must be Austria, France, Italy or Switzerland
For those of you saying the video gives bad advice, please refer me to some better skiing books or videos. Thanks. Or supporters of the video, let me know if you think these videos are solid and why.
Every time I ski, my chins end up hurting like crazy. Anybody have tips for this? When he talks about leaning forward I'm telling ymself aww crap, chins gonna hurt like crazy at the end of the day..
@patrick2976 Your comment has made me laugh for two hours straight. You rock dude. @chubbblover...Put down the pipe. Put down the frickin' pipe. You must be so high you're stuck to the ceiling fan.
Your body might be a taperstry of fibonacci relationships. Mine however is a cheap rug of beer related fat. It is the art of trying to balance this on two planks that I seek to perfect.

Very informative, thank you!
Would like a bit more on use of pole for initiating turns. Very good video.
Yup. It's a bit like the golf swing. Sometimes you've got to put the book down and just hit the bloody thing....

0:52 rofl they would
lol
In this WHOLE series of videos they have consistently showed only women doing "incorrect techniques" and men doing correct ones...
WTF ?
lol yeah the women are shown falling on their faces, i just noticed that. good vid but didnt help me much. harder than it looks
Why is it showing a girls butt?
looks like you need to be schooled some more. It's 'educational' not educative!
sorry, no offence...it had to be said
