Cobblestone is a bad idea on ramp. Properly brushed concrete is used everywhere, as it affords the most contact with tires. Once in a blue moon the city loader should come down with brush attached and do a clean on the first 8' into the algae coated ramp. Prevents slips/falls/lawsuits.
When I have someone driving the truck while I load or unload the boat, I first explain what I'll need or possibly need them to do so that they're prepared.
I was wondering if these projects follow the same timeline as in my home state of California. I heard the harbor patrol announcing that the ramp would be closed until November, I went ahead and Googled "boating season in Florida". "The boating season in Florida starts in mid-March and ends in early November." So, yes... It's done the same way in Florida as it's done here.
When backing up a small jet ski trailer, by the time you see the trailer from either side view mirror, you are already too far turned. You need marker flags above the back of the trailer. Not to guide the jet ski onto the trailer but to back up the trailer.
Every time i see these videos, people are driving their boats onto their trailer, is that the way most folks get out of the water? Grew up with a boat around the size of that one, Dad always used the hand winch on the trailer. I have a bigger boat than that now and i use the hand winch. Am I crazy?
No, I don't think you're crazy. Your way sounds correct to me. Either they're trying to hurry and get out for the line of people waiting, or maybe trying to look "good" for the camera.
Everyone is stressed at the ramps - doesn't matter who it is man, woman, child - captain who is stressed and trying to communicate (badly) will always blame someone. People are liars if they say they have never had a bad day at the ramp or on the water where tensions get heightened.
Guide poles on the trailer! Hands at the bottom of the steering wheel, use your mirrors, move your hands in the direction the trailer needs to go. It’s not rocket surgery!
To be fair to the jet ski guy... A long wheelbase vehicle (pickup) and a short trailer (hitch to axle) is the worst combination. You have to be on top of your game with that. Small corrections are your friend, large angles are not. Best approach is to use all that space in front of you and pull forward, get the trailer as straight as possible, and then go from there. Boynton goes out with a typical Boynton experience. This is why it is getting redone.
Do people not use guide-ons anymore? And can't witch a boat onto a trailer instead of power loading it? from the time I start to back up and boat on trailer is 45 seconds.
@@fastwin493 lol first picture on google of set of Guide Ons for boat trailers are not those dumb polls you Americans use, plus that's what you Yanks call Guide Ons "Guide boards.
I don't know of any school for that. There are licensed captains that teach boating, they might be able to teach you to launch. You could also try contacting a local Coast Guard Auxiliary member if you have any near you, they might have someone that'll do it. I've considered advertising to do instruction for it, but I don't know how much liability I might be taking on so I haven't.
My jet ski trailer doesn't have a long enough tongue. I have 2 little tubed attached to the rear of my trailer and 2, five feet long pieces of pvc pipe to slip into them.

Heavy boat, 2wd, crappy wet cobblestone ramp. Perfect!
Pro tip, always drop the tailgate and you can see your trailer better.
Lol. I was thinking same thing. I do it all the time. You must be a boater.
This is how I have to see my trailer lol. If I forget I just get out and lower it.
Boyton gets the last laugh😂
The single jet ski trailer is not the problem. He SUCKS at backing trailers!!!
Never should have pulled out 😂

Parks closed, what about the two PWC in the water?

Any plans of filming some of the demolition and the reconstruction of the ramp?
Ah yes. Florida and their 2wd pickups!
Shoot it worked for us for 20+ years. Didn’t need a 4x4 until we started doing more work out in sugar sand land.
When the "capt." starts giving hand signals, you pretty much know it ain't going to go well.

Wonder if it's a bad time to tell contestant #1 he's got a trailer light out.
You could make eating a piece of toast sound exciting my man.
Drop tailgate and roll up tonnoue cover if you have one. See the trailer much better , or put on some trailer guides
"Put the wheel...straight!"
Glad I have 4x4

It looks like the right side of the truck was in a rut
👍👍
Typicsl s.fl. driving skills.
Amazing how many don't lower tail gate for the jet ski trailers
It looked like he had stuff back there so he might have been afraid of dumping it out the back.
Wouldn't matter too much - you can overcorrect so easily with those trailers a tiny bit too much steering and its already jack knifed.
Amazing how many incompetent guys are out there. Then blame the wife or girlfriend.
Everyone the same now everyone equally eligible for blame whats a woman anyway?
I blamed my wife today. So true. lol

I can't believe at our ramp which is not that bad the guys spinning out with 4 wheel drive but they don't use it. I'll put mine in low and crawl out.

Single jetski trailers suck - that is just a universal given. Any light trailer like that is just awful.
That first truck had only two working brake lights out of 5... Left on the trailer and the high mount on the truck Everything else was dead.......
Why don't the jetski guys put a flag pole or something similar on the back of the trailer so they can see were it is?
No one mentions that he has no brake lights, you guys need a megaphone to scream at half these people

Drop that tailgate! And do people not realize how to use their 4 wheel drives?
First, and another good video
Just so you guys know, part of the reason that I do not get into boating, are these people filming your every error. Is there a boat ramp school?🤪

When you have a two axle trailer or bigger, you need a 4 wheel drive truck. I don't care what ramp you are at. 😐
If these truckowners would just put their tailgates down and not loose sight of there trailer life would be simpler

Surprises me that these big yankee trucks don't have the option to slip it into 4H?
Sometimes I wonder if these are staged. It isn’t that difficult the back a trailer into the water 🤦♂️
Guys think they know everything at the boat ramp. Another googan trying to load his boat.
You talked to much on the first one!
