Thanks so much Lauren for having this lesson on one of my favorite acoustic singer/songwriter songs from the 70's. I'm 61 years old, and I'm trying to learn guitar for the third time in my life. This time, with the help of UA-cam, there's no stopping me, no matter how long it takes. I watch several online guitar instructors, and I must say that you're, by far my, favorite. i enjoy the way that you break down everything that you're doing, along with the simplified song versions that you cover, with two finger chords. The charm, and knowledge that you bring to us guitar enthusiasts is second to none. Keep up the great work Lauren.
Hi. Lauren. Back in studio. I only like 2 musicians on U tube. You are number one for lessons for beginners and my interest how successful you will be and James James who I like to play along with. 75 k subscribers. Way to go.
Great lesson. When I saw the title, I said this lesson is for me. After the lesson began, I realized it was about the song not my standing as a guitar player!
Neil Young arrived in the U.S. in the mid-1960s and co-founded the band Buffalo Springfield. He earned fame both as a member of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSN&Y) and as a solo artist, writing and recording such timeless songs as "Old Man," "Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)," "Rockin' in the Free World" and "Heart of Gold"-a No. 1 hit. Nicknamed the “Godfather of Grunge” for his undeniable influence on that genre, Young is also a strong advocate for environmental and disability issues, as demonstrated by his co-founding of the Benefit for Farm Aid and the Bridge School Benefit Concerts. More than 50 years into his musical career, he continues to record and tour on a regular basis. Thanks Teach.... 🍎
@@LaurenBateman in 1979 as a senior in high school, Lauren my buddies and I used to go to the theaters late night and we must have seen "Rust Never Sleeps"... 20 times at least🤪..... Good times....!!!
Thanks so much. Gleaning little tricks to use in all of the practice I do! Your teaching tech would be great even if I wasn't trying to learn guitar. Have a beautiful day.
Just a side barre 😄, I love your minimalist, zen-like background! Helps me focus on the lesson. I don’t need to see the distraction, or intimidation of a teacher with 100 guitars in the background.
Amazing, you teach so many songs i grew up listening too. Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, Beatles, all classic songs and iconic bands. I was wondering if you can do some Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt songs. One of my favorite songs is Angel from Montgomery. Thanks again for your wonderful teaching !
Another great video Lauren. Is the “good old hockey 🏒 game”, by Stomping Tom Corners, something you would consider? A catchy song I would love to learn, especially the beginning rift thing. Just a thought. Thank-you again for your videos.
@Lauren Bateman ok no worries just a cool tune I'm trying to accomplish. I must say that if I quit looking at your eyes I would probably play a little bit better, lol
Haha! I love this song but at first I thought you were being funny and saying it was a lesson for old men, like myself! I just saw your video yesterday for the seven things geared towards people 50 and up. I thought this was maybe part two! 😂
Thank you, Edward for the recommendation. I get lots of song requests so I cannot guarantee that I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my list.
@@LaurenBateman Nah, you're good. Just my brain not working. Great channel by the way, I always learn something from your videos. Thanks for posting them!

But what are bass strings for f and c
C fifth string if you use Fmaj/C also 5th string

I agree with you, the order of the videos might be confusing 🤣
Really enjoy listening in, I get many complaints about my lack of progress though 🤣🤣🤣
Awww, you will get there. One day at a time

I'll be playing in the shed when summer arrives 🤣🤣😉
Great content, i meet you @ the 10x
Yes, hello!!!
I thought by the title that it was a lesson for OLD MEN! I then thought, this is for me 😂! Forgot about the Neil Young song titled Old Man.
Ha ha ha
I'm sorry I just commented I would like to learn in the sun by Joseph Arthur I think I spelled his name right 🎸😊
Thank you, Edward for the recommendation. I get lots of song requests so I cannot guarantee that I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my list.
Gonna have to rewatch that a few times! My timing is terrible 😑
You got this!
Thought it was a lesson for old men, I'll get my coat!
Ha ha ha
Took me a minute to realize this was about the song “Old Man” and not a guitar lesson for old men 😂
I should have made the title and thumbnail more specific 🤔
@@LaurenBateman Nah, you're good. Just my brain not working. Great channel by the way, I always learn something from your videos. Thanks for posting them!
I clicked because I thought it was a lesson for old men, a category in which I’m included!
When I saw "Old Man Beginner Guitar Lesson", I thought it was a lesson made exclusively for me. That will teach me to stop and think. 🤣
Happy to help!
You’re probably wearing your Rocks in this video!
Maybe 😉
@@LaurenBateman you do love wearing those jeans!
Love you dearly but this one's not even close
Thanks for watching!
@@LaurenBateman always! Old Man is on my Mt. Rushmore of songs
Old Man is not in drop d
You don't have to play it in drop d if you don't want to
@@LaurenBateman Mr Young doesn't so I won't either :)
Why don'tn you just play??!
Because I have to teach. I'm a teacher. Not a player.
