Please don't panic too much, we have gone through the worst of the storm here in the west of Ireland (Red Alert/Warning) and it was not too bad, the worst of the gusts only lasted about 2 hrs and it is moving very fast. Stay safe everyone in the UK, love from Ireland xxxx
Glad it went fast. Northern Ireland, East coast here and it has been full on through the night, and still going strong. Perhaps it's because we are near the sea.
You be safe too🙏I'm in England but I have dual nationality 🇬🇧🇮🇪- and my son and his family live in Newtownabbey in Northern Ireland. All of us being hit pretty hard with this wretched Storm Darragh🌪️x
@@jensmith3719 General waste, recycling and garden waste. It's a pain trying to remember which day is which so I have to look which the neighbours have put out
I’m in mid Devon very bad here. Still is ! Corrugated barns have blown away, one went past my window around 5 am that was scary 😟 Can still hear it blowing around somewhere or one of the others. Stay safe everyone!
Decided to chance a run to the local 24-hour shop to grab some milk and bread, could barely stand up straight in the wind and it felt like I just got out of a cold shower when I eventually made it to the shop. They weren't lying, it do be windy
Thanks Alex and definitely agree with my fello commenter above. Stay safe everyone including at The Met Office xx 💨💨🌧️🌧️☔☔ xx. Lucky I don't have to commute to work today working from home xx.
Hope you’re doing ok there. I’m on top of a hill on the SW Cornish coast, wind direction NWN with gusts up to 77 mph. Been thinking about you guys in the Celtic lands of Wales and Ireland. All the best!
It's very bad here in Staffordshire too. Howling like a mad wolf, all night. Now that it's daylight I'm watching the trash cans flying down the street...
Southern Exmoor. Was up at 6am picking up debris. Lost a chunk of shed roof. No power. The dying Ash trees have been stripped of the dead branches. Not much rain, but there's a bite in the wind. Ventured into the lane, it wasn't too bad but some gusts are much more intense in the last hour. Stay safe people 🌀
Here in Oxfordshire it has been pretty rough, although I've been feeling rough myself so I guess I could stay at home and chill out for a while. Thanks for the report.
I'm not in the red zone and we already have fences down and we haven't even reached peak wind strength yet. Going to be a day for hunkering down and soup.
Very many thanks indeed Alex. Well, didn't expect it, but we had a relatively peaceful night...then the wind was terrible! The wind now has squalls instead of gusts. Precious little rain - yet. STILL TAKE CARE FOLKS!!
I do feel for folk in flood areas so horrid to have that rotton and cold . But honestly nothing we can do about get your wellies on wrap up Don’t be scared for the day you will never see.
Has been a very noisy night in Brecon s wales powerful guts of wind seems to have eased here since a few hours ago. I found Dennis and isha a few months ago worse…
i will rememmber that if ever move again or even survive this, in 9 months new home has been flooded and now this mini hurricane, my cats are not too pleased with me
The lamppost outside my house is literally shaking, I won't be surprised it goes down. Only just got me roof done!😬 still surprised only a yellow warning in place, considering wind upto 60.
A lot of models forecasting winds to get even worse this afternoon..but no mention here. I do wonder if anyone is actually working at the Met Office on a Saturday
We’re in a red area … coastal north wales. So far, it’s been quite windy, but not too bad, certainly not the windiest day we’ve had even this year. I think it’s been a lil bit over hyped, at least where we are.
Even if you're lucky and somehow escape the worst of it, better to be covered by a warning anyway just to be sure. Interestingly if there weren't warnings, people would have been complaining that there *should* have been.
it's great that we get these weather warnings but why, living in exeter, do i watch the news and see a red warning for wales, then five minutes later my mobile phone goes off like world war 3 has started and it's telling me that i'm living in the red zone; confusing as hell and before long people are going to start ignoring warnings all together; stay safe everyone

As Lance Corporal Jones used to say, "Don't panic! Doooon't panic!"
All 3 of my wheelie bins were making a bid for freedom so had to put them in the garage until it calms down.

80mph wind isn't much...what about in America when their storms are triple than we have here
They build storm shelters and theirs houses get flattened, doesn’t mean 80mph isn’t worth a warning
