Yesterday After listening your weather focus for the next few days- I’ve run out of energy🙄 Come back today to say thank you. Your works is appreciated. Be safe. Stay healthy🙂everyone.
Very interesting to know how our weather system evolves day by day and you explain it extremely well. I can remember back in 1987 when a certain Mr Fish assured us on the evening forecast that he could assure us that there won't be a hurricane- if only he had had the tech and super computers you guys have nowadays!! I hope these explanations become a regular thing.
As an outdoor instructor these in depth forecast are great. Lake, coastal and upland coaching. I fuse your report with the Sea Buoys Met Eireann M4, M2 and IL3 Buoys and weather station reports, to check pressures rain and wind behaviors.
Thanks Aidan for a fun as well as informative look at this little cold snap we are having! We had a few flurries of snow in the garden this afternoon and we are in South Norfolk!
Smashing breakdown, only point worth raising is the audio is low, I had to turn you up to max to hear you. Loving the breakdowns though so please keep at it :)
Great to see a detailed and in depth forecast. Happily subscribed. ‘Normal’ tv weather reports are never as informative nor interesting as this. Thank you!
Another fascinating video, as I watched it after the midweek snow. Talk about a week of 2 halves, with a white Bristol on Wednesday (8th) to a wet Saturday! Really appreciate these deep dives, as they provide a really useful insight to the current weather conditions.
Great to see Dublin on the map. Tks. People do visit us ☘️ from the Uk for weekends away. I’m fairly sure they’d also like to know the weather here !! 😂😂
This reminds me of March 1979. By the Third week of the Month, the south of the country was enjoying temperatures touching 20c while Scotland and the North suffering blizzards. A few days later the snowy conditions advanced South to inflict all the Nation with it! It Snowed in Parts of April `and` May that year. For those who like the warmth, Winter & Spring 1979 was a hellish time!
I've missed a lot of memorable British weather over the years because I wasn't living here. In 1979 I was in Athens, Greece. We had a bit of snow once, during my five years there. People headed out to the surrounding higher ground and returned to the city with tiny snowmen on their car bonnets.
Yep, May 1979 over Cornwall & Devon (I remember it at school) was unusually cold. Today however it was typically 8-10 deg C in Cornwall & Devon, no sign of any snow.
@@simonbennettalbertstHow many thousands of years do you think motorways have existed? Time is relative, motorways are brand new in the grand scheme of existence.
Really enjoying these 'deep dive' forecasts. Very informative and very useful. Just one thing that I thought you should know about , the audio level on this video was very low , im watching on youtube on my desktop and I had to turn the volume on the youtube page and my desktop up to near maximum to get a suitable level. Normally the levels on your videos are fine , but it seems on this individual clip , the levels are a bit low. Thanks.
With great certainty, I can say we are uncertain of how much snow we will have and where ! (just joking) Love these deep forecasts, please keep them coming. Been using the Met Office "Surface Pressure" charts for years, which are great, but it's nice to have an expert explain with these new forecasts. Thanks Aidan.
This is shockingly South centric, highly detailed if you are there but further North forget it! Completely ignored a front that passed over the North of Scotland with splitting hairs on the path in the South. At 60 YO you'd think I'd be used to it but it's still sheer ignorance to spend so much time on one area while ignoring at least 24hr spells elsewhere!
very cold in north eas tScotland but the sun is too strong everything not in the shade has melted away, hope it clouds over so we can enjoy the snow for a bit 😆
Well the forecasts were a bit off with my neck of the woods last night. -1 to -3 was forecast but we didn't even have a frost, it just about stayed above 0. Meh.
This is very annoying. I've dusted off the hiking boots, done a few hikes, felt my fitness improving and now winter returns. The mountains of Eryri are now no go areas for amateurs like me without the proper gear. Deep snow on the tops and quite low down. It may take a while to clear with temperatures looking set to stay on or below average for the next fortnight.
Very poor weather forecast for Cornwall & Devon. Wind and airmass coming in from the due west from over the Atlantic. No snow here today, in fact sunshine and 10 deg C in Mount Batten, Plymouth, 11 deg C at St Mary's Isles of Scilly, and typically 8 or 9 deg C across the region. I recorded 8.0 deg C at my Bodmin weather station, felt quite pleasant with light winds. Where is the snow??? It isn't over Cornwall & Devon.
Be careful what you wish for. AMOC could very well make your wish come through in the future. Incidentally, very little snow falls in Antarctica. Any accumulations over the decades simply don't melt.
Initially, the SSW is causing a more amplified (more wiggly) jet stream, causing cold air to push into Northern Europe and the North Atlantic. Over the next few days, however, with much colder air in the North Atlantic coming up against warmer air further south, there’s an enhanced temperature gradient, which boosts the (currently south-shifted) jet stream
Wrong from the very first minute. Currently 1500 in Swansea, South Wales, with beautiful blue sky and barely a cloud to be seen. Ah, got mixed up between 0300 and 1500. Oops
What a load of rubbish its time a stop was put on these weather forecasters they cant put 2 hours together to get the forecast right so they have no chance over a 3 day period every day they change the forecast so unreliable and its time they were stopped people are getting fed up with it.
lol this northerly was forcast about 4 weeks ago, before the ssw took place, no forcast can be totally accurate until a few days out, met get it right more often than not, sounds like you are a bit butt hurt because you havnt got snow *pats head*
If you watch the met office 10 day trend from a week ago, they predicted snow for the middle and end of this week. So that's 7 days ahead. Quite a good forecast.
This is why we have daily forecasts to begin with.. because the details change and need to be fine tuned for accuracy. They say this all the time to "stay up to date". You must be new here.
Keep these accurate and in depth forecasts coming
Very many thanks Aidan. Excellently explained and I, to a degree, really enjoyed it all. I sincerely hope everyone keeps safe and as warm as possible!

Love these "deep dives", always very informative and presented in an easy to understand way, please keep them coming !
Thanks Aidan, brilliantly explained as always.
Brilliantly explained and made so interesting. Thank you as always Aidan.
Could't wait for your thoughts this week, a really interesting and complicated siituation we're in at the moment!
Aiden you have made the weather soo fascinating. Thank you.
Fascinating. If i had my time again etcetc... Love the non patronising, honest style of Aidan. He's a keeper Met Office.

I remember that forecast from Mr Fish in October 1987, I was still living at my parents house in south London & what a night that turned out to be.
we never used to get warnings 50 years ago, it just snowed, and a lot more than it does now, we dealt with it. it’s just become a novelty
As an outdoor instructor these in depth forecast are great. Lake, coastal and upland coaching.

Terrific video!
Thank you for keeping me on the edge of my seat.
I enjoyed this weather forecast better than watching a movie!
Bravo! ❤️👍✌️🇬🇧
Yes I love the longer videos! ❤
That must have been a tricky forecast to present, Aidan - well done.
Thanks Aidan for a fun as well as informative look at this little cold snap we are having! We had a few flurries of snow in the garden this afternoon and we are in South Norfolk!
Crikey it’s all going on this week! Well done Aiden for explaining it all !

Really liking this format and the excellent delivery. Good to have uncertainty shown clearly. Another vote for more volume please.

Great friendly presentation. Really enjoy the deep dives.
These deep dives are so good Aiden. Do keep them coming! I love seeing the different tools you use part from the synoptic maps.
Great to see Dublin on the map. Tks.

Love these, well done Auden great presentation
Another well explained deep dive shows most of Cornwall missing out on the snow the warm air stuck over us
Excellent information. Thanks MET office.

"suffering" 😂
What do you mean enjoying 20c? 🤣
I like that Aiden focuses on more modern geographical features like the M4 and M5 motorways thinking of things for drivers
Motorways are anything but modern!
@@simonbennettalbertst Relative to mountains and rivers, they are modern.

Great insight. As an amateur photographer living in the Highlands I'm looking forward to this. Disruption isn't usually an issue here....

Superb forecast, thank you. 😀
Thanks Aidan! A very interesting and well explained prediction for the next few days.
Interesting and insightful as always. Thanks
Excellent again.
Great video, hope to see more.
Your drawing skills are great Aidan. 😊
Thank you Aiden! This is really exciting!!
Loved the "it'll be alright on the night" moment with the pen at 16:03! 😆
Thank you and always appreciate these detail looks and please keep them going
This was awesome.
Very informative. Thanks.
Fantastic forecast for planning - thank you. Looking forward to the end of winter though - not gonna lie...
Excellemt forecasts as always. Much appreciated.👍
Very good. Thanks again.

It was not Mr Fish's fault,it was the person who made the map and handed him to read, that person did own up and apologised.
Most enjoyable :)
These deep dives are excellent for us lot working outside 👌
Hertfordshire had sleet this afternoon, heavy sleet lasted for 10mins.....and then turned to cold rain.........
Many thanks Aidan 👍
If only we had this in our school geography lessons I would have paid much more attention! BTW I could hardly hear you, sound level very low? Thanks.
Had to turn the volume up this time, Aidan.
Loving the deep dive!

Thanks Aidan. I should probably stay ay home for the rest of the week
That cracked me up when Aidan was drawing on the map 😂
Thanks
Thx Aiden 👍🏽
There's a chance of snow coming through the UK and the next few days will probably turn to mild air to the parts of the southern England
Hi aiden
Well the forecasts were a bit off with my neck of the woods last night. -1 to -3 was forecast but we didn't even have a frost, it just about stayed above 0. Meh.
Possibly might see some snow in Bristol
i hate liquid precipitation
854 million on super computer and not quite sure where it’ll snow. Lol

Scottish Ski resorts will be rubbing their hands together....
Can you put some sun over Manchester please and make it about 18 degrees C and recommend having a BBQ...Cheers R Kid
Is it possible to have your voice louder? I listen on my phone usually, but this video is too quiet.
lol just rain again folkestone kent no snow for years
I want snow like antarctic
Be careful what you wish for. AMOC could very well make your wish come through in the future. Incidentally, very little snow falls in Antarctica. Any accumulations over the decades simply don't melt.
Spring has sprung? It’s still winter. It can’t return if it’s still winter. Spring is 21st March not before
I love the weather but 22 minutes is so long
turn on the mike
Great weatherman, but no Tony Hart !
I thought that the SSW was meant to reduce the jet stream, but your charts show a strong one. Why?
Initially, the SSW is causing a more amplified (more wiggly) jet stream, causing cold air to push into Northern Europe and the North Atlantic. Over the next few days, however, with much colder air in the North Atlantic coming up against warmer air further south, there’s an enhanced temperature gradient, which boosts the (currently south-shifted) jet stream
_An in-depth look at the snow_
That's a flakey idea, ain't it?
sorry Aiden but it is very quiet.
Can just increase the volume.
Aiden, can you drawer a horse over the North Sea please.
