I always forget that James left sorted whenever he's back in these videos. He's just such a natural addition that makes it feel like he belongs there everytime he's in a video. Makes sense, they have been friends for many years.
Yes James has always been my favourite of the guys. I love them all but James is just so relatable. Glad he comes back from time to time😊
@@SaltNBattery At first I thought this was going to be a comment about climate change making the Alps less snowy or something like that. But nope! It's just racism. 😶

One of the things I've missed since James departure... His look of pure joy when he tries something he loves. Its absolutely on full display here.
Right!? Totally agree!
Sorted's camera work and color correction is basically the best in the game at this point and I really stand behind that. Massive ups to your camera people and editors. Every shot is so vibrant and clean.
Thanks so much Luke 🫶
Luke stop sucking up man 🤣🤣🤣
@@Disneyduck334 hide your pets, Dante. Or you soon won’t have any pets left to hide.
@@Disneyduck334 so why watch? This genuinely is some of the best direction, editing & and cinematography I’ve seen in an outside food vlog. Why are you so bitter and triggered by people complimenting the hard-working and talented team behind it..? Sort your own personality and emotions out before mocking others’, eh Dante…?
@@Shelsight He was joking.
You know a restaurant is doing well when they deliberatly tell you NOT to share who and where they are
Nah, they tell you not to tell anyone so you'll tell EVERYONE.
I really want to compliment this entire series. I don’t want it to end because each video has been so beautifully filmed that I’ve honestly felt transported to this amazing location. Job well done, Sorted Team!!!
It's almost a child-like enjoyment with James.
Its such a joy to watch them and to learn new cooking techniques, equipment or styles. I look forward to each new episode.
Yes! More of the ginger legend himself! Your friendship is SO precious and wholesome! Love all You guys!❤❤❤
Thanks Daniel 😄
I hope this series makes enough $$$ to make it repeatable, because this format is spot on!
It’s EXACTLY the kind of food you’d want after hiking to get there!
100% the perfect food.
I love seeing James back as a guest; great having an adult back in the room :)
Kudos to Barry for making sure the camera man gets taken care of.
We don't like to leave anyone out :)
This entire trip, and also the studio stuff recently, has been looking absolute fire. Props to the camera team and the production team!
Thanks James! 🫶
Always good to see you on the show James! Make sure to come back again soon ^^
@@tomgreen876 Different james, lad
I love the “make it awkward so it looks deliberate and not just accidentally awkward” good words to live by🙌😂
“I can see only foot prints, no car prints.”
Never change, Barry! We love you, just as you are.
As a Canadian, when he said that I was like 💀
Its lovely to see james on camera with you guys again. And tom is just killing it with his camera work on this trip
Driving in winter weather is my absolute worst fear. Can't believe Barry managed it that well.
Edit: Spoke too soon. Good work Tom.
still effort points for them being british driving in a european car i guess
that's probably a bit awkward too, although it should be just flipping things on 1 axis, that's not how automatism tends to work
usually whne crossing the road, i already saw right, then look left, then right again if i didn't already assess things to be safe on the 2nd lane from me right the first time, if i make the assumption in britain, i may end up as a bumper sticker
Well if you are not used to it I guess… In Norway we have a solid winter and driving on snow is normal. But maybe not always in so much snow as here :)
Yeah, as a Michigander, the snow driving made me cringe, as did the guys getting out to push and not having gloves. Always bring gloves (and a warm hat) if you're heading outside a city and there's snow!
In my area we put sandbags over the rear wheels in trucks to ensure traction.
Getting out of the vehicle to lighten it...
Think they needed to shovel a tad in front of the tires (with the power, ie front tires if FWD) to get free, and maybe going a little slower when first restarting from a dead stop over a bit of snow...
@@runarandersen878 I live in Pennsylvania, and our winters are brutal. Which is a problem because I hate driving in it so much.
It's always handy to have Ben around, he seems to know about everything, even managing a car in the snow and he's so confident. James was definitely in his element and he loved it, all the better for a wonderful, wonderful episode in the mountains.
Your (group) friendship reminds me of what I had w/my BFF of 33yrs.
She’s been gone for almost 8 years now. It is a relationship I cherished when she was alive, and since she’s been gone I’ve become more and more aware of how rare it was.

7:09 Adam Bianchi on ‘Worth It’, Luke on Korean Englishman and Tom on SortedFood. Videographers who are fed well.
I loved this series. Beautiful camera work. Fun interactions between the guys. James back with his obvious love of good food. Sidenote - Ben's slo mo eating the fondue really shows how expressive he can be. So funny.
I didn’t know there was a part 3 to this! What a lovely surprise!
The last episode!
Back in Episode 1, they mentioned it was going to be a three part series.
I thought Barry said there was 4 episodes?
@@adamgallop8311 I could be mistaken slightly.
@@SortedFood I thought Barry said 4 episodes??? We need more James
It's so great to see James, we've missed him! Please include him whenever possible. Finding that restaurant wasn't just an adventure, it became a challenge! I agree with Ben and prefer to order a variety of appetizers or small plates which everyone can enjoy tasting new flavors and dishes. Thanks for always being such fun!
I have loved every second of the Alps series. It really felt like coming along on a vacation with a group of best friends that are family. James’ pure joy of just getting to the restaurant was so beautiful to see. I would LOVE to see more adventure based travel food videos!!
James definitely picked a good set of videos to return again for. Enough culinary challenge with cooking a gourmet meal in the mountains, fun with trying out various camping gadgets, but the enjoyable experience of exquisite food to finish the journey off. All without the stress of a pass it on episode. 😂
As a Canadian, seeing you guys struggling to drive in so little snow made me laugh. 😅 But I get it, you're not used to it. Great to see James again ❤❤❤
I was watching thinking, oh dear summer tyres and no snow socks…
Same thought here as a Brit who lived in Chicago for 10 years… We’re just not used to it in the UK 😂
@Shelsight As a fellow Chicagoan I kept thinking "They should have brought kitty litter" lol.
We only get one or two days of snow a year in the UK to learn and practise, so it's no wonder very few people in the UK can drive well on snow. However - that was clearly a local rental car (it's left-hand drive, so they didn't bring it from the UK), so why wasn't it equipped with the right tyres?
@@HaralHeisto my experience with rental cars in the alps is that you have to specify that you want snow tyres/chains/socks
That shot of Ebbers in slow mo eating cheese fondue was cinematic perfection
So wonderful every single time James returns. I’m always thrilled when I see him pop back in
Somewhere along the line while watching this I noticed I was smiling broadly. What a combo - gorgeous scenery, fabulous food and two of my favorite chefs. So nice to see James so pleased with the trip.
I know it was a joke but I would actually really like to see something like this purely with the chefs once in a while, dont get me wrong they chef/normal dynamic is great as is the competitiveness but once in a while just getting to see the chill passion and love as chefs poke around an area is cool and hearing some of those " when the camera was off and James and I went off on our own to X" stories from the past sounds really cool
This was so wholesome, and I know I echo everyone when I say I miss James with the dynamic of everyone else at Sorted. I hope he's doing fantastically in his new job 😊
Ah I miss James and his calming demeanor. What an excellent time. Thank you again!
I didn't expect this to become a Grand Tour challenge... 😅
James as Jeremy
Barry as Richard
Ebbers as Cpt. Slow
Tom as Abbie Eaton
The walk through the woods to the secret cabin restaurant was BEAUTIFULLY filmed. Such a gorgeous preview of the meal to follow.
Also, any Sorted video with James is my favorite. ❤
Beautiful videos, stunning film work, drool worthy food, and some of my favourite UA-cam personalities. I'm so glad you guys are still making videos. Welcome back, James
Amazing you got that far up the mountain WITH NO CHAINS!. Chain up for safety!
The trouble with fondue - and raclette, for that matter - is that you end up eating more than you thought, and then feel sick! That cross between tartiflette and macaroni cheese is definitely on my bucket list, though!
The secret, my friend, as a frenchie AND cheesemaker myself, is exactly what they did: acidity. Even if you're not gonna eat a salade, bring French dressing (heavy on the vinegar and mustard, light on the oil) and put that on the potatoes before your raclette cheese (not all the potatoes, let the cheese shine, but like, every now and then...) It's gonna help your stomach so much with the oils in the cheese and you'll feel much better afterwards. I now always bring my little jar of salad dressing at a raclette party, and it's a great trick.
Of course the acidity of a chosen white wine can do the trick but... Not the same 😂
Even as a lactose intolerant person I enjoyed raclette. It is so nice, and if things are heavy you eat the salad. And even after eating about a quarter of a cheese wheel, I did not feel so sick afterwards
@@justmemayel4174 Wow thank you for that tip I never knew that before that’ll be very helpful for me
Snow chains for tires boys haha. Always a pleasure to see you enjoy such food and it's also really nice to keep the mystery, maybe some of us will discover it by ourselves one day!!
Slo-mo of Ben eating his fondu - priceless !
It's too good 🤣
Seeing the type of butter used 9:41 'Président' and the two cheeses mentioned 'Reblochon' and 'Abondance'. It must be somewhere in the Haute-Savoie in France. Plus Ben blurted out "when you're in France and in the mountains etc.."
I guess the salad is to unplug all that the cheese plugged up 😂😂😂😂. I laughed so much. Thanks guys. It's always wonderful to see James again and he couldn't hide his joy with that food or the walk to the restaurant. Nice to see Baz hasn't lost any of his Dad feeding skills 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Nice to see you also include the cameraman Tom 😁
Love it...I had an amazing time watching. Thank you for taking us there.
You guys should definitely do more outdoorsy things.. with James ofcourse😊
Well at least now we know that James is keen 🤣
Two minutes in and Barry's already gotten a car stuck in the snow in the middle of a walking path. Usually normal is supposed to refer to his cooking skill not his driving one.
I am in awe of this series!! Now to put the alps on my travel list and to hunt the boys down to find out about this restaurant!!! 🤗
DO IT!
I like to imagine that James was just like “yea I could come over and be in a video or two” meanwhile Barry just snickers and announces “we’re climbing the alps!”
I have been following you guys for a long time..I got one of work colleagues to start watching you and she loved it! We had so many early morning conversations about your videos! Sadly she lost her life last weekend, this video made me smile and think of her ❤
Sorry for the loss of your friend.
Just wanna say hi and send my absolute praise to Tom, not only for impeccable driving but also filming this series. Just ✨✨
I know that it's banging on a dead horse; but I always love seeing James come back - not that I don't love the boys in general, but he brings a certain sass and genuine joy of food when he's on camera.
That being said, of all your recent road trips, this has been my favorite - less emphasis on the game at the end and just a focus on the trip and the chemistry between you guys. Feels like a really good, well rounded travel documentary and less something generated for youtube views and I loved every minute of it.
Look, it isn't hard to figure out. They literally name dropped the charcuterie dish as "the friendship triangle", which if you translate that into french is "le triangle de l'amitié", and if you plug that in quotes plus charcuterie into Google, then, well... it takes you right there. One of the photos they have is literally of right where they're sitting. I feel slightly dirty in pointing that out, but I mean... 🤷♀
Yessss I was waiting for the followup video of this adventure!
Amazing! I loved the focus on Ben & James cheffing/geeking out over the food, I would have loved to be at that meal and on the walk to the super secret spot. More adventures please!
Incredible cinematography, some of the best I’ve seen on UA-cam, I’ll take that back. It is the best I’ve seen on UA-cam very well done lads
This series has been absolutely stunning! Such a great job by the whole production team! 👏
I definitely miss James and am so happy to see him in this series!
That much snow on a dirt road and no chains? This is the bit when i comes to snow that I dont miss. But it sure is pretty. Seriously though, Secluded cabin in the snowy woods and lots of cheese. Perfect date place for Ben and James. 🤣
This series was absolutely fantastic. The concept, the filming, editing, it was a nice change of pace from your actual videos, but still feel like you. Loved it.
And the croziflette was so nice to see (it's a bit less famous than fondue and raclette worldwide but it's a classic in the winter here)
Oh my goodness.... this looks like the place up in the mountains that a French lady took us to about 25 years ago before we came home to EnZed. Hidden away amongst the trees, up narrow windey roads, it felt like we had found another world. Our visit was in summer, and I've never managed to find any reference to it again. So delighted you guys have had this experience! Thank you for sharing it with us!
What a fabulous recommendation you received!! It is so nice to see James again (yes, love you too Barry and Ben) :) The whole filming was amazing as you could litterally feel the warmth and coziness of the place. Bravo!
Makes me realise how true their friendships are with eachother and how precious it is ❤ love you guys!
The look of pure happiness on Ben’s face as he eats the food is fantastic. It was lovely to see James again! This entire series was excellent! The food, the vistas and the adventure.. all stunning! I’ve been to a similar little-known local restaurant, but it was in a tiny Austrian village.. the food and staff were superb!
I’m glad you had such a super experience. You need to get some advice for Canadian winter adventures - you wouldn’t be disappointed.
We bet it's magical! What would you recommend?
Lake Ohara Lodge. You need to book far in advance, and x-country ski to the lodge in winter. It’s in British Columbia. I’m sure there are many others. Equally excellent summer mountain hiking.
These "real" experiences sort of videos are so refreshing to watch, lads. There's not much on here like you guys having real reactions to amazing food made by amazing people in wonderful locations. Mixing up the travelling and the cooking is exactly what Sorted is all about to me and to many others. Please keep doing these kind of things. Go far, go local, go weird, go simple. Highlight what's around us so we can see where we NEED to go!
If you get stuck in the snow like that try using the little mats underneath the front seat footing. Place the mats underneath the tyres and you get the traction you need!
Our Resident Sassy Scotsman being reunited with chaotic energy in the Alps is just what the Algorithm ordered.
Happy Wednesday to SortedFood HQ and the Community!
I love this new series and so happy to see James visiting!
I would also like to point out that Janice deserves a vacation with y'all too! ;)
Love seeing secret restaurants
Love how both Ben and James went full-on Nigel Slater with Les Crozets! 🤣
1:48 As someone who feels like they’re going to evaporate in the heat, my brain cannot compute snow.
why aren't more people passionate about the things they love? it's such a joy to witness. how lovely this has been
side note, I think I'm a little bit in love with Ben hah
Cheeses from Val d'Abondance and Savoie region. So it must be there somewhere. I am sure based on the film material shown it can be determined where the restaurant must be.
And it was also shown that the car had to underpass a train line, of which there are only 2 lines into that whole region.
Ben being Passy Aggers with the Lettuce was sending me lmfao
i'm pausing at 7.06 to see which camera it is! 😇😇 the beauty of the mountains and friendship captured is more of skill than just camera.
Loved this series so much!!! The camera work were sooo good in these videos. I hope you guys get to film more videos like this.
Grumpy James is so happy in this video😊. Love to see it!
4:30 "we can't tell you where this is or what it is called"
4:40 "we have ordered the best things you should order if you are here, to show you, at this place you can't find"
10\10 trolling, love it
The alps!! Pah!! Softies!! Try The Yukon!! You won't find it without knowing a fur trapper! Try roast leg of lynx!! Superb. Moose, caribou yes, but lynx is special!!
Always carry kitty litter or playground sand when you go anywhere with snow. sprinkle the kitty litter or playground sand around the tiers. this will give the tiers something to grip and will allow you to be unstuck faster.
I have been fortunate enough to visit the very same, or similar location in the Alps. Difficult to tell from the footage. We had to get there via snow plough - the most amazing experience ever, and yes, it it is a very well kept secret in the middle of nowhere. If ever you have the chance to visit a place like this in the middle of nowhere, just say yes. You will not be dissapointed - love your work guys
Driving in the snow without tyre chains is so dodgy 😂. 👍🏻 for the effort.
Persuade him more often, please! I love the joyful vibe you have together. ❤❤❤
Is "French dressing" a vinaigrette? I am American and our "French dressing" is red, thick and vibrant (Catalina is super sweet).
Such a beautiful scenery Mas Sha ALLAH 💝
Y’all this is the biggest tease! I’m watching two chefs have a religious experience with a cheesy cheesy meal, so of course I want it.
But we can’t know where you are, who the restaurateurs are, or how to find them. AHHHHHHHH! I shall pine away for the cheese.
I used to make a pizza with goat cheese, honey, pine kernels and parma ham! Would highly recommend, with a bit of rocket on the top
That's a dreamy pizza right there!
Well done Tom! getting the car back out!
Super Tom 🙌
I see James and I click! He could discuss the various seasonings on the market, and I will watch.
So glad to see you James! He is missed but glad to see how happy he seems.
yuummmmmmmm you had me at Goat cheese and Honey!! If you guys ever come to Canada, especially when its snowing, you may need a refresher course in driving in snow. Seeing you get stuck in those road conditions is a typical winter day here! Love this series! Gorgeous shots everywhere, but felt like I was walking in the forest with you. Now if we could only know "where" you were ;)
This series has really made me miss James and I nearly forgot that he wasn't part of Sorted anymore. Thank you for making such an amazing series and the filmmaker graduate in me is so freaking happy over the beautiful shots Tom got and the editing is sooo good, a massive well done and love to the editing team and also Tom 😊
Seeing James lost for words while eating the fondue made me appreciate how good it must be!
8:56 Strange choice of music. Playing "The Blue Danube" , the most famous vienniese waltz, when you eat cheese in France...
A wee slice of heaven up there at the cabin restaurant I think. looks a braw place to thaw out after a day out in the snow. Let the feeling come back to your extremities as you tantalise your taste-buds & sate your hunger.
I can't believe you were trying to drive through that snow without chains on your tyres! I'm glad you did though, just so we could hear, "car prints".
Another gorgeous video. I absolutely love seeing James so happy (of course with the bit of sass regarding sharing lol) Also, I agree with James, does Barry have to come? (at least don't let him have the keys)
So glad James joined them ❤
Even though I couldn't taste the food, it's just wonderful to see the pure enjoyment on your faces.
It’s ALWAYS a pleasure to see James, I’ve very much enjoyed this series in the alps, thanks boyz.
Great content, just love James in these videos, he seemed to fit back in so easily
Love watching you enjoy your walk in the snow.
I have so many driving in wet snow tips to give but I think the best is "rock the car, never spin"
3:46 It’s like ‘Narnia’ under the White Witch or something. Such lush views.
4:17 It’s clairvoyance on my part lol
I am so glad we know the camera person gets fed. A decade of videos and I've always wondered, hahaha.
