Couple of thoughts in a addition to feeling sorry for the owners of the boat. First, it is not the correct procedure to disconnect batteries when fumes are detected. Second, its obvious their vessel was gasoline powered. And, since your boat is diesel, you have about no chance of this occurring.
Yes, There was much talk on the dock with other boaters, and that was the consensus. We think they got to the boat late and probably made a bad, reactive decision being tired from traveling....it was so sad! Great people, with one bad decision that had such dire consequences.
Nice views of Detroit. I can understand about highlighting local tourist sites in your home state, but it would also have been nice to see some shots of the Windsor Sky line (especially Casino Windsor, which is now known as Ceasers Casino). Just because it's my home town. My dad used to take me to the Tiger's home games on cap day or bat day whatever they were giving away. That was in the Old Tiger stadium. Did you go by boat or did you drive there?
I actually thought of that after we went through! We totally missed the Canadian side because we were in such awe of Detroit from the water. We grew up in the suburbs around Detroit. But this was our first time seeing it from the water :)
Live outside of Augusta, Ga. Friend graduated from Wayne St and was down here for a year or 2. Then she moved back to MI. Mid 90's I had training in Troy and we went to Tigers game at old park. My seat had a pillar right in front, but was able to move to better seats. Great time. Green Lantern pizza! Royal Oak was trendy area near hotel so spent a lot of time there too

I have a 22' project boat, and first major work was fixing all the wiring. Had some previous poor work by other owners, too much of a fire risk. Now working on engine issues, your channel and others are inspiration to keep slugging through. Looking forward to watching your loop trip and following in your wake some day. Hi Guys, I’m still catching up on the videos I had missed earlier in your journey to cast off. We finally have found a boat and are in contract, woo hoo. Holy Cow! That is scary. Seems like every marina has had an explosion at one time or another. The one at our marina took out 6 boats besides theirs, but thank the good lord no one was injured. So sorry for your marina neighbors.
