Well done Australians. You weren't fooled.
We all in Australia will sleep well tonight knowing this is over and we made right decisions
It's not over and I don't think it ever will be. In the next few days, we'll hear the vitriol then they'll settle down and cook up a new way to try again.
All Austrslian? Means nothing. Some of us are human . Conservstives do not count as human or humane.
We all are equal - no place in Australia for institutional racism.
There is no racism in Australia.
Yes!
We voted no because we're fed up with aboriginal people getting all these benefits and money and doing nothing with it, we're sick of them and they need to wake up, fk em we voted no for racism hoping aboriginal people will wake up and see we're fed up
100%
The YES side was never about Aborigines -- it was about the ELITES running it gaining more status.
All we need do now is to wait for the stream of vitriol that will pour from these people.
They will have that, do a post mortem and come at us in another way.
And the voting pattern showed that.
The Voice was supposed to be our version of BLM, thank God it failed.
It was about the UN's UNRIP land grab agenda
It was a fouls test. 70/30 result told us what the majority is thinking. People which have worked and earned or own some thing during a working life have casted a vote and want to preserve what they think is worth keeping or fair. 2004 when I came here the Aborigines I have met were in a 3rd world state or worse. Nearly 20 years on they have not changed. Aborigines for some reason get by in this 3rd world status. May be its lifestyle, may be its bad luck which is not ending. The same was probably true 20 years before that. Throwing money at it has not worked. Relinquishing equal rights was an idea, where I thing most Australiens are not ripe or dumb enough or gullible to make such a stupid decision,...yet! The 30% which have voted for a yes should not be forgotten. They should step forward in public and explain conceptual how this supposed to work and should not hold back with anything to make their dream work. And remember don't spend some one else's time, money or freedom.
The first thing we need to do now is a full and independent audit of what happened to the billions of dollars that have been directed towards Aboriginal issues and just who pocketed it.
I would dare say it was the group pushing that voice stupidity....but i'm just a yank looking in lol!
We can only hope so..its a huge amount of $$ so the audit is really needed
@@joerussell9574 You're pretty spot on. I think the term you use in the States for these types is 'Race Hustlers'. We know most of them are in the Corporate pocket.

I'd like to THANK all the 'No' campaigners (who had no funding) and a special thanks to Jacinta Nampijinpa Price. I'd also like to thank the AEC staff who did a great job today and tonight. Our democracy and electoral system is the best in the world.
[EDIT: And THANK YOU Australia ! ]
Totally ditto mate, well said :) I am so proud of my country right now
Agree. I was convinced the AEC would rig the vote. The fact the no vote got up means it must be operated above board. I woke up this morning feeling proud of my country and people. Something I haven’t felt for tears
The inner city elites need to take this in - Wentworth in Sydney voted Yes, Lingiari in the NT (this is where Uluru is situated) voted No. Why? “The ignorance, prejudices, and groupthink of an educated elite are still ignorance, prejudice, and groupthink-and for those with one percent of the knowledge in a society to be guiding or controlling those with the other 99 percent is as perilous as it is absurd.” Thomas Sowell. The PM’s speech never really acknowledged the vast majority of people voted against his proposal;all he did was to feel sorry for the people who supported a YES vote ……BS Mr PM😅
He never it’s all about him, with his ego got hit tonight now you put the money back Albo
It was a snivel to get back in.

He respected the deshision
Now we need to stand together and say no to the WHO changing the pandemic treaty
Absolutely
Well Done Australia! Proud of you all....
Even the Aboriginal People knew this was a bad thing
I'm still embarrassed that we had so many that voted yes, we still have a long way to go.
1. Audit the money, like many have said
2. Sack the Prime Minister and his entire cabinet, with no pension or benefits
If only. Elbow knows he's stuffed it but can't bring himself to man up about it.
He's already trying to weasel back in as he knows the perks are too good to pass up.
Well said! Some of these large companies need to take a good look at their policies>
There might be a bit of consumer backlash on these companies.
It was not just about the voice, a lot of us voted against the ongoing attacks from canberra and the entrenched elites in government business and the media.
Throughout the western world, elite opinion seems to dominate. Nothing new about this: they don not trust the majority to do the right thing. In the Anglosphere it was evangelicalism more than benthamism that drove the anti-slavery movement and the cause of universal suffrage. If there was division in the churches in the United States, one must remember than evangelicalism was always stronger in the North than in the South. The New England diaspora in the United States stretching west through New York along the Erie Canal and as far west as Iowa formed the core of the opposition to slavery expansion. and kept the terms of the Northwest Ordinance in force. It was the energy of the western generals: Grant, Sherman and Sheridan that finally broke the Confederates,.
This is true, we have so much trash running things here in the ACT.
So very pleased to hear this news. Perhaps now, after all these years, the country can put full effort into giving outback Aborigines equality in education, family and health. And immediately stop using the Aborigines as political pawns.
Royal commission, where’s the money gone ????. Public enquiry would be better
They get 40 billion a year
Not just aboriginals, outback in general needs more resourcing
They get funding. It’s not making there. There needs to be an audit! Immediately!!!
@@666dualsportyes but it’s not reaching the people. A very small portion supposedly. But I don’t believe it’s just indigenous funding that should be audited, all funding too any service, project etc. I’ve know the nsw govt put funding into “education” and runs a campaign on it. Only to see the money paid to the building industry, and not a single book for our rural school. We can’t afford resources, excursions etc but millions go into the building industry via the Education dept.
Now we demand the government commence a full audit to we’re all the money went when was given to the aborigines
YES And why aren't regular audits part of every disbursement of Govt money ? Business records are all on computer and can be audited daily over the NET. How can this not be happening ? Why do they debate in parliament to try and get an audit done and always get stopped? Sen Malcolm Roberts talks about this.
All government money needs an audit. For too long taxpayers have been getting ripped off
The money hasnt reached the people who need it thats for sure ,,its cut off at the pass and possibly found its way into the pockets of the sinister. ..
Ineffective NGO's that gobble up the funding with admin overheads.
They must do that very very quickly😢
I think we just don't like being told what to do or think. 'They' made a massive miscalculation by their overwhelming support for Yes.
As big a surprise as Brexit. Will the elites resist this wave of public opinion as much as they did Brexit?
All I saw was "YES" campaign. There was no "NO" campaign. That to me told this vote was rigged from the start and yet the "YES" lost. So proud about the Australians. This needs to be a wake up call for so many other wrongs that people have endured last few years. Politicians have too much power. Time to take it back.
Mate, all us average Aussies can smell BS from a mile away, and you are the epitome of the true Australian. We jealously guard our freedoms & never frivolously hand the big decisions to the government because of virtue signalling or flashy ads and celebrities. We truly are one nation, and this makes me so glad :) Mitch, Gippsland.
One and free. My great joy in the NO corner came from many amazing Indigenous Aussies who stood for a United Australia. It was always a lie that “ over 80% of indigenous Australians were voting Yes. In particular the voices from outback people that spoke of grace and forgiveness and the great desire to leave all victimhood and revenge behind; those were the real voices that need to be championed. They inspired and changed me.
May the real VOICE begin.
So happy that Aussies are waking up.
Albanese should stand down. He spent $360 mill of tax payers money for the YES vote. He promoted it to the hilt. Australians have voted against him - he should stand down and show some humility.
Yes, the little Irish leprechaun was smart enough to take the money and run before the inevitable fall of the axe he knew was coming.
Albo is a pure blood fascist, he would never stand down, he'd rather see our country burn than give up his power. He reminds me of Potato Biden.
So pleased for Australia 🇦🇺 we are all one !!!🎉❤
And remember that Marcia Langton promised that there would be no more welcome to country ceremonies if the No campaign won!
The voice to parliament doesn't pass the pub test
Next you should talk about how dangerous the Pandemic Treaty & Online Safety Act [AUS], both are.
We have a similar thing in Britain with the unConservatives.
Agreed, it was a referendum that asked Australians a racially based question. Australians were asked to vote yes or no to a racially divisive Constitutional change. There are many advantages to being an Australian and one of the most valued of these advantages is we are all equal and treated equally regardless of when and why we came here. We all need to remember, "We are one, but we are many and from all the lands on earth we come".
Most Aussies are racist lol what you on about love?
@@kingslayer447how did you determine that exactly?
Yes its true we are all one people in Australia from many places on Earth, but only one culture has been here for 65000 years and is singularly essential to, and identifiable as core part of modern Australian culture and that is the indigenous culture which is also by far the oldest continuing culture on Earth and so it is also inherently and especially significant to Australia for that reason. The referendum I felt was just about the long overdue recognition of this in the constitution and the purpose of the Voice was to provide a permanent body in Canberra to make sure the right representations were made when and where needed to help with our national interest to protect and preserve and accommodate the great Aboriginal culture which is significant to all Australians. Everything you are saying and understanding about what went down today is wrong, you bought a fear campaign congratulations!
@@johnthumble5154 quiet easily mate, its self-evident.
I'll keep it short. There were 250 cultures on the Australian mainland before European settlement. Most of which could not talk to each other and were constantly at war with each other. And I do recognise that they have all been here a very long time, but that does not require that they be added to the National Constitution. 'They' are reported to be 3% of the Australian population and have a 5% representation in the Australian Parliament.
The Australian Government has a black indigenous Minister for Aboriginal affairs, the Hon. Linda Burney, that's a Federal Minister that deals specifically with Black indigenous advancement and wellbeing. Some say they are overrepresented in Government. Interestingly all those that were expecting to get a seat on the voice panel, the likes of Jose, Langton, Wyatt, Pearson for example have for many years been paid advisers to multiple Australian Governments. What have indigenous Australians and Australian taxpayers got for their money? Where has last years $40B been spent?
And you are right again, I like many did have a fear, a fear that too many bleeding hearts and do-gooders like yourself and our deluded feelgood Prime Minister would succeed in unloading enough guilt and on the rest of us for being responsible for any shortcomings of an 'ancient' Australian minority. Thankfully, there are enough thinking Australians that realise the implications of governing/ managing/ treating any minority ethnicity differently is racist. This referendum failed, it failed because the Australian people recognised it was racist, divisive and unnecessary. @@iavdortmunder8132

Now its time to put in place a better system whereby all aboriginal people receive the benefits from the $40 billion spent annually. The corporations that horde and splurge these monies on themselves and their close family members must be brought to account.
The system needs an avenue of accountability. What happened to the 500 million given to Noel Pearson? Sure, he implemented a few things but can he account for all of it?
It's time to set up a system of routing funds to nominated local bodies, not to the major persons who currently "deal with it".
They could ascertain where funds need to go locally and it could create some decent jobs for the locals handling it.

The simple reason people voted no, is because noone knew what the new legislation was about as noone bothered to explain it properly.
I always vote the opposite to what Government wants !
The majority of Aboriginal people voted NO. They knew it would make no difference to them.
