Great job saving the trees! Tip: when knocking the branches, whack _upwards_ instead of down (as the branches are already heavy laden and you don’t want to encourage them down) Also, using the broom head to whack instead of the handle will allow you to free up more branches in one fell swoop. Hang in there! Summer comes! 🌺
I’m glad someone else caught that! We are an hour north of Linda and her and Ben were hit the hardest in this storm! She is a real trooper! I too always use the “head of broom” and when I go in to take off snow I touch the branch with light pressure staying on it and gently bounce it upward, it’s sooo important to do this in these long storms. 🙌👍
I LOVE these mega March snow storms! Everything becomes quiet and you hunker down with a good book. Farmers call it natures fertilizer. We had a dry Summer so I knew it would catch us this Winter, all balancing out. Now it's maple syrup time! I Love New England!
Goodness, Linda, you are made of true New England stock! I am always so impressed by your can-do spirit and not letting life’s difficulties drag you down. I love the napkins!
Your kitchen is beautifully perfect. That seeded glass on the cabinets - l love it! The house is really coming together. All that snow and the damage it caused, so sad. But, it truly is magical. Spring will still come and before we know it we’ll be in our gardens digging away! Good things come to those who wait….
Your kitchen is a heavenly work environment and the doors look fantastic! I must admit that I truly miss the beauty of the New England snow, and watching your video, I can remember how the clean air smells. I am in love with the pantry!!! Keep the videos coming. Angel hugs from Florida.❤
Wow...as a Southerner, this is incredible. But then we have tornados so I know the damage Mother Nature can do. I had to smile at your Bunny story. I used to have some faux Staffordshire dogs on the mantle in our family room when I had teenagers. They HATED those dogs. They would turn them backwards, hide them etc. I finally gave up and changed the decor.:)
The green flowered dishes are precious. Thought, just right for St Patrick's Day! The snow is amazing and beautiful. It is also quite intimidating. Good thing you have such a hard working husband who knows how to take care of the ice dam prevention measures and all that jazz. Loved this vlog and happy you have your power back!..
Hi Linda, wow what a snow storm. My eyes were glued to the TV. I see you’ve been painting 😊. The kitchen doors look great! The house looks so warm and beautiful. Stay Warm!
This was an AMAZING video, Linda! Thank You! No weatherman or newsman could have given a better report on the effects of a Nor"Easter on Us, the people! I applaud yoour attempt to save the trees and bushes from the weight of the snow. Brave Mother! Right on! As beautiful as it is, snow can cause death to trees, bushes and plants, as well as to our animals and fellow man. This was a "once in a lifetime" video/vlog. I am a Nor"Easterner now in CA! Well done my Kindred Spirit! God beless you and Ben and Family! Patricia
Linda thank you for your fabulous channel! I have only a 2-year interior design education but I’ve always loved beautiful timeless design. Your channel checks all the boxes for my design heart!
Table settings pretty as usual but different enough to enjoy. Snow blows me away. I lived 33 miles from Manhattan in a small town of 5,000 people for 35 years and we had a lot of snow in the winter but….never 48 inches. Wow that wasn’t nIce. Loved the three doors painted. More calm than 3 in a row jumping out at you. Everything you have done in renovations and decor is perfect. Love the house and great that you are saving your beautiful trees. Also great you have a generator. I hated power outages. We have them here in Florida from lightening storms in the summer. Just love your kitchen with the fireplace and the new windows and window seats. Everything so perfect. Luv mj
Truly marvellous transformation all the work you have both done to Sugarwood , your forever Unicorn home is totally amazing which can in my eyes only be described as a pure labour of love... ❤ A delight to watch ! Thank you so much for sharing ..😊
Linda there is nothing you can’t do. I’m so in love with Sugarwood....it just oozes character. Your kitchen looks beautiful and I love the doors painted.... I enjoyed looking at all the various table settings. You have a lovely assortment of place settings. Hope you don’t lose any of your trees and bushes. Stay warm❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
So happy to see you are all okay. I thought about you during the storm. I love your videos. You have a calming presence and wonderful decorating, cooking and landscaping ideas. I always look forward to your videos. Please take care as the snow melts. I would definitely like to be on a purchase list when your coffee table book is published.
I loved everything in this video except the tree damage!😢 I even love a good snowstorm. Especially if we have a fIre going! I was just bemoaning the fact that I don’t have much spring decor, so I’m going to try for some DIY projects. Those bunny napkins were adorable.
I still have some decor to pull out of storage, but still feel it will just be a few items this year since the contractors will be returning very soon.
I know this video is from last year but I'm only just now seeing it & I have to comment. You're table settings are complete & absolutely gorgeous! I love how you set a "Complete Table". I see some simply set a dinner plate, salad plate or bowl & napkins, maybe a charger underneath the dinner plate. It looks so unfinished because it is! No silverware, no crystal ware, (glasses in particular). You hit it out of the park Linda!
Always love seeing your videos. I live in Leominster Mass, and we received 23 inches of that heavy snow. Thankfully we didn’t lose power, but we were ready. Your kitchen remodel came out beautifully. And your house is so gorgeous. I look forward to seeing more videos. 😊
We fell in love with a house in Leominster! We almost put an offer on it, but didn't. In hind sight, I wish we did. It was a beautiful grand home/estate on a side street, but needed a LOT of work.
Linda! I just love your decorating!! Just beautiful! It is so warm and comforting….and beautiful!! Thank you for sharing with us!! Oh and I just love the tablescapes and the bunny napkins! You brought some joy this morning!💕
So glad that your power is back, that is a lot of snow,so sorry to hear about the lost tree, looks like you were able to save some so that’s good. Glad that you and Ben are safe.❤
Table setting looks amazing. Snow is so pretty when you see it on your videos but also alot of work. Thank you for leaving some lights on for beautiful Willow ❤
Holy cow, we all got lots of snow, but it is melting like crazy…welcome to “mud season”!! We were out of power for 4 days, with lots of downed trees and wires….Springtime cannot come soon enough for me! Your napkin stamping idea is great, and could easily be translated to different seasons and holidays…thanks for another lovely look into your beautiful home.🦋
Good that you have a back up generator!! We needed one during an ice storm several years back here in Tulsa,OK. We had very little snow this year and only a small ice storm. Love your bunny napkins!
Just an absolute super clean, cozy, lovely home you have created. You are so talented, Linda. Your videos are one of my favorite ways to relax and feel joyful. Love your spirit! The snow is soooo beautiful. Grew up in Connecticut, 25 years now in Tampa so I miss the seasons and watching you celebrating every one is so wonderful! Looking forward to all your new additions and creations!
Bless your heart.....l got the chills looking out your windows and door let alone being without power. North Carolina wouldn't know what to do with that much snow....l pray for you warm weather with lots of melting
Oh my Linda that was some snow storm. You did a great job at trying to save your trees. I love your tablescapes. I really love the bunny bowl in the center of your table. That was so nice of you to make a fire for your husband. And it was so nice of him to make breakfast for you both. That reminds me of my husband and myself as we do that kind of stuff for each other. I guess that is way we just celebrated our 65th wedding Anniversary. We have always shared in the work no matter what it is. That was a blessing to see. Thank you for letting us visit you for awhile and I enjoyed every minute of it. So until next time God Bless you both and have a Blessed weekend and stay safe my dear and Special Friends.
I was fortunate to have an expert upholsterer live just one block from our 1892 home. I would have my upholstered pieces changed out about every four or five years. The cushions on my two club chairs were the last two items she reupholstered before leaving for a new job adventure on St. Simons Island. It was sweet while it lasted. Have not found a replacement yet. Upholstery is a cherished trade.
Before we moved, there were a few shops around us still offering the service, but they won't travel and I don't think I want to bring our furniture there and leave for months. The search is on!
Hi Linda I've been watching your channel for several months now. I absolutely love it. I've been decorating, etc...since i was a kid. Gardening is my passion. I live right on the Ma/NH border, on the MA side. Your house is beautiful..I've always loved old houses. We got 27 inches of snow. But spring is here🌷
My goodness! The amount of snow is incredible! Very cold looking out through the windows but it’s certainly cozy inside! The doors look great painted that color! I was thinking a lighter sage green but with all the doors it could’ve turned out better! So beautiful! Love your Spring collection! 🐰
Wow, snow overload! Here in NW Pennsylvania, we are used to that kind of snow, however, we have had very little this year. Seems like March has more of a roar though. Here’s to it going out like a lamb. The warmth of you home decor sure makes it all so comforting. Hope for an early thaw and stay warm!
That is the worst kind of snow one can get. I hope you have not lost too many trees and bushes. Your home is so beautiful, I love seeing it in your videos.
I also loved your table settings & especially appreciate showing us all the variations. Little changes can make such a difference. Thankful that you’ll are safe & cleanup after a storm can be difficult especially when loosing trees !!!!! 😢😢😢
I love it when you put out a new video! I also love the white teapot on the top shelf of the corner cabinet! So pretty. I'm glad you tried to save your trees. I would have done the same. I love trees so much. I feel they bring a lot a value to a property, especially mature trees. But I'm sure it was again a relief that you had trees removed last year, which could have threatened your home, had they been damaged. In my opinion, the fabric swatches that were the second on the left are really pretty. I can see those colors going nicely with the fireplace & brick. Your home is so beautiful. I noticed the doors before you mentioned them and got really excited to see them changed. It makes a difference! I'm glad you guys made it safely through the storm. God bless you.
It might be snowy outside, but inside your home, it is beautiful and springy with your lovely tablesscapes. I live in the south. I can't tell you how many days we've spent cleaning up downed trees and branches from Southern storms with high winds. The price we pay for living in areas surrounded by beautiful trees and woodlands.
Hello Linda. I love your table settings. I never set my table the same way twice for a special dinner, pulling out things that inspire me is how I go about it too. I think the kitchen doors painted white are such a huge improvement. Your kitchen is stunning. This has been a hard winter. Your snowfall is outrageous!
Never a dull moment at Sugarwood!😅 ❄️💨 ⛄️ Those storms are exhausting for the homeowner! I’ve done a lot of banging on trees myself over the years! It sure works. Hard week for you guys…but thankful it has passed and hope you can get some rest. Appreciate your capturing so many beautiful snow scenes for us.😍
The snow is beautiful but I prefer seeing what your doing inside. I suppose that it's because I live in an apt. but I do have a patio. You've inspired me to do more with my apt. especially with my table setting. Thank you, Linda. I really enjoy your channel.
Linda, this storm you and Ben experienced reminds me SO much of the storm of ‘78! The depth of your snow is SO similar! We lost power for days up in Cape Neddick Maine where I had just moved in at the time. I was due to begin hostessing at Yoken’s Restaurant and couldn’t even drive from Cape Neddick to Portsmouth, NH! You DEFINITELY have been walloped!! Being the New England trooper that you are we all take these things in stride and when we lose things in our gardens we allow ourselves to be sad for a millisecond then we begin to dream about how and with what we can replace what has been lost perhaps with something NEW!
That was unbelievable to watch, I'm here in Sydney Aust and we complain if we get too much rain or not enough rain or it gets too hot. Oh Boy... Thank you for sharing and sad that the trees and branches were damaged, You are a trooper...congrats. M.
Ohh Linda love the kitchen.. And the table napkins look so sweet.. Lots and lots of snow.. Bless you all.. Everything looks so beautiful to me.. Can’t wait for more.. Thank you for sharing..!!
I lost huge parts of my very old lilac when we had a similar heavy snow a few years ago. I did a good pruning and it came back just fine. Lilacs are so hardy and resilient--which is probably why they were planted so profusely decades ago.
The lilacs I have been clearing of bittersweet and honeysuckle took a hard hit and a lot broke. I am looking forward to giving them a good pruning! One looks like the trunk may have bent out of the ground. I hope it just needs to be readjusted.
One of my favorites of your videos! I am a sucker for a winter storm. The downside to such a beautiful show by mother nature, is the loss of trees etc. But what a cozy beautiful home to be storm-stayed in!
Oh My!!! Y'all need a second home for the winter! Loved all your Easter settings, but being a green and yellow kinda gal, I love the all green the best. If you build a guest home, I for one would come and help in the Spring. You should have an on site air-b and b. for some patreons. Now add that idea to your already "ever ready" brain. HA! ❤ from GA!
Thank you for another lovely video. I swear every time I watch one of your videos I can feel my blood pressure go down about 10 points ! The kitchen doors are perfect painted that color. Wow you really did get hit with snow and ta boot the heavy kind !! This is the perfect Sunday morning treat !! ❤
I look so forward to your post. I’m definitely a kindred spirit of yours, because I LOVE your decorating/design choices. The newly painted doors look perfect! I lived in Nashua, NH for awhile, never saw this much snow. I’m back in my hometown of Va now, no snow here this year which is rare. Stay safe and warm. Blessings.
All of your Easter place settings were beautiful. Seeing all the snow made be feel lucky to be in North Carolina. I'm not fond of snow. It was interesting to see how you guys deal with it. I look forward to watching your videos. Keep up the great work!
I do love all things bunny. The cornflower blue is really lovely. As I sit here on the shore in Maryland, I feel for you and all that snow. We had more snow last winter then we'd had in 10 yrs, which was still less then a total of 18" over all 3 storms. No snow again this winter. Side note...French toast made with a loaf of Brioche cut to your desired thickness, well it's just more delicious than I have words.
Hi Linda, wow, it’s a winter wonderland over there, so pretty. Your tablescapes are beautiful. I love the plates, both versions. Your painted doors look gorgeous. The evening out looked like fun! TFS, I always enjoy your wonderful videos. Xoxo ❤ ❄️
I don't think I've ever seen so much snow! I feel a little guilty sitting here with the A/C on in sunny Florida! Your home is beautiful and I'm glad ya'll are doing well. Stay warm!!
Love the table settings and the bunny idea!!!! I am sorry you lost so much! It is beautifully laid out with a lot of snow up there!!!! Just stay warm!!!!! Enjoy the peace that comes as with this much snow. Everything seems to be quite and slow...I love it!!!! ❤
I know it can be damaging, but I envy you that gorgeous snow! It looks like you live inside a Currier & Ives picture! You’re home is lovely & I’m always trying to emulate your style in my own home. Keep up the great work & inspirational videos. (Always excited when I get the alert on my phone when there’s a new one 😊.)
Oh my! Sooooo beautiful Linda. Everything. The snow, your house everything. Mother Nature is beautiful but harsh all at the same time. I wish I had snow. ❤️
I just love your home Linda. And, your videos - so beautiful, calming, interesting. It is so easy to listen to your voice. Your channel is one of my 3 favorites. 🙂
Now I know why New Englanders are a hardy bunch! I couldn’t believe my eyes, all that snow. I would just die. I live in Maryland, outside of Baltimore, and we haven’t had any snow to speak of. Linda, I just love your napkin ideas and table scapes. I know you will be very anxious to get outside and work in the gardens when the snow melts away. Excited to see what new ideas you’ll be showing in your next vlog. Also, please consider resurrecting your magazine!
Needed snowshoes to get a better angle to rake the roof this year that's for sure! I had purchased a long handled floor squeegee just for pushing melting snow off the garage floor, and then discovered it was the perfect tool for knocking down icicles that might scrape the roof of my suv. The lightweight easy to maneuver blade also made it easy to knock snow off trees.
while we were having dinner at a local restaurant tonight, 22 members of a utility line restoration crew came in to eat, on their way home to western NY. I suspect they were coming from your neck of the woods, because the amount of tree damage we had from that storm should have been manageable for our utility company. I'm glad you got through it OK, but sorry for the loss of your trees.
I just found your channel and subscribed. We lived in Milford for 30 years, now Iiving in Northern Vermont. Brought back many memories. We used to camp at Greenfield State Park. Love your home.
Everything so beautiful ❤ even the refreshing snow love the table setting just stunning .Love the Windsor double back bench I will have to keep a eye out and see if I can find one just love it .Your home is so inviting and beautiful . ❄️
Linda, you have to admit, turning the bunny around was hysterical (especially in light of the ghost video) - Ben obviously has a sense of humor! The snow is so beautiful, it's easy to forget how much damage it can do. And your table decor is very pretty, especially those adorable bunnies scattered around. Hope all is well after that storm.
Your home is really beautiful, so cozy, love your kitchen and pantry, omg,all that snow, it is beautiful, I’ll never complain about the few inches we get here in Pennsylvania again😂❄️
That is a lot of snow!!! Your house is looking beautiful, love the upgrades you have done. Hope you were able to save a few of your trees. Here in Texas it is getting warmer and warmer 76-84. Warmer weather will come just wait!
So sad about your trees....I'm in Illinois and we really haven't had hardly any snow but heard your area was getting hit hard. Heavy snows can do so much damage. So sorry for you. Hope power is on and remains on. Thank you for sharing this. Blessings ❤
How pampered your guests must feel when at your house. I loved all the table settings. (Aren't you glad you cut down all those trees when you moved in ........ ) years ago when we lived in a very similar setting, we had huge snowstorms One year my husband got a lift home from the train station on a snow plow, and another year a neighbor went to get him on a ski-doo. luckily we never lost power.
For the large tree, I was under it. The smaller ones I could not get under them. ;-( Great tip thank you!
Very good advice
I LOVE these mega March snow storms! Everything becomes quiet and you hunker down with a good book. Farmers call it natures fertilizer. We had a dry Summer so I knew it would catch us this Winter, all balancing out. Now it's maple syrup time! I Love New England!
I love New England too...never lived there, but have visited several times....it's beautiful!!✌️🙏🤍
Love your table settings and your doors in the kitchen look fabulous! ❤️
Thanks so much! 😊
Goodness, Linda, you are made of true New England stock! I am always so impressed by your can-do spirit and not letting life’s difficulties drag you down. I love the napkins!
Thank you Maria!
Your kitchen is beautifully perfect. That seeded glass on the cabinets - l love it! The house is really coming together. All that snow and the damage it caused, so sad. But, it truly is magical. Yes! You said what I remind myself and others often. Spring will get here, no matter what.
🏡~Your house looks picturesque puddled up with all that fluffy snow! ~Out like a Lion! ❄ (PS: Inside is positively beautiful! Love the painted doors.)
I can't even imagine that much snow! It is beautiful. Being able to stay snug and warm and cozy in this gorgeous home is a blessing.
Linda! What a dream home…and to see the snow…so wonderful ❤
The three doors look so much better painted! Beautiful home
Your kitchen is a heavenly work environment and the doors look fantastic! I must admit that I truly miss the beauty of the New England snow, and watching your video, I can remember how the clean air smells. I am in love with the pantry!!! Keep the videos coming. Angel hugs from Florida.❤

Willow is such a sweetheart with her blaze orange jacket supervising Ben's snow blowing technique. 🐕👍
Precious Willow, soo cute and lovable 🐕🐕 Enjoyed the video with the beautiful snow, hopefully not too much damage caused by storm. 🌳🏡🌳🏡🐕🐕

She could get 4 different holiday stamps and put one on each corner, then fold to the appropriate holiday. Would save drawer space.
Love the new paint on doors and, all of the table settings, just beautiful!

Wow, That is a lot of snow. Glad you made it through. Pure New England Spirit. Love all the fabrics and the paint colors.
I love what you did with the olive green doors! They make the entire room flow so well!

My dream is to live in a cozy New England cottage. Until then, I'll live vicariously through your videos.
Loved this one Linda. It's cold here in Pa today but thankfully no snow yet this year. You have inspired me to get my decorating done, THANKS.
Never a dull moment at Sugarwood!😅 ❄️💨 ⛄️
Those storms are exhausting for the homeowner! I’ve done a lot of banging on trees myself over the years! It sure works.
Hard week for you guys…but thankful it has passed and hope you can get some rest.
Appreciate your capturing so many beautiful snow scenes for us.😍
Wow! That’s an incredible amount of snow…. Good on you for staying so positive Linda!❤
Your house is looking so pretty definitely has your special touch..
You are an amazing lady out in that snow☃️❄️☃️
Oh my goodness… bless you heart… love your table settings.. sending you hugs, prayer and kindness… 🙏🏼👍🏼❤️
The snow is beautiful but I prefer seeing what your doing inside. I suppose that it's because I live in an apt. but I do have a patio. You've inspired me to do more with
my apt. especially with my table setting.
Very similar to that storm! We also got hit in 2016
That was unbelievable to watch, I'm here in Sydney Aust and we complain if we get too much rain or not enough rain or it gets too hot. Oh Boy...
Thank you for sharing and sad that the trees and branches were damaged, You are a trooper...congrats. M.
Haven't watched yet but loving the frequency of your videos ..so fun!
Yay! Thank you!
I just want to say your doors painted in the kitchen made it more beautiful
Ohh Linda love the kitchen.. And the table napkins look so sweet.. Lots and lots of snow.. Bless you all.. Everything looks so beautiful to me.. Can’t wait for more.. Thank you for sharing..!!
Oh my..the snow!
Love your creative mind... the Kitchen..dining room look so good..love❤
Thank you! 🤗
Wow that was a lot of snow.. it’s so beautiful though besides all the work it causes and the damages. Praying for everyone in its path.💞🙏
My Dad used to say that March snow is poor man’s fertilizer so your gardens should be spectacular this year!
The snow is beautiful! We don't get that much in Cincinnati, Ohio. I may not be able to handle it!
Blessings.
What a lovely home and surrounding grounds. Inside is so warm, cozy and just beautiful.
I literally gasped when you opened your door to the outside. So much snow! Your table settings are lovely.
Xoxo ❤ ❄️
Thank you! I hope your home selections and plans are all going as you hope! I love seeing all you do too!
I don't think I've ever seen so much snow! I feel a little guilty sitting here with the A/C on in sunny Florida! Your home is beautiful and I'm glad ya'll are doing well. Stay warm!!
Love the bunny stamp! Something simple goes a long way! All the table settings are pretty. The dark green plate are striking.
The dark green plates are one of my first collected items. I loved them when I saw them.
Thank you!
We just got rid of our last five feet of snow since December 11.
Spring!
Stay safe. Have a lovely day.
Thank you so much!
Linda you are such an inspiration to me, I hope you and yours are all safe after this monster storm. Cheers!!!
Thank you so much!
Thank you! We are considering it, but nothing set in stone. Family keeps reminding me I'm supposed to be lessening stress not adding it.
I love the shovel handle just pecking out of the snow. THAT is a lot of snow!!!
Good idea for using the floor squeegee! Ben mentioned to use the roof rake, but too long and awkward. I ruined two brooms by spreading the bristles
thank you so much for sharing the storm and the beautiful snow! I enjoyed it.
The snow looks so beautiful!
while we were having dinner at a local restaurant tonight, 22 members of a utility line restoration crew came in to eat, on their way home to western NY. I suspect they were coming from your neck of the woods, because the amount of tree damage we had from that storm should have been manageable for our utility company. I'm glad you got through it OK, but sorry for the loss of your trees.
Im captivated as usual, thank you for inviting me into your home
I just found your channel and subscribed. We lived in Milford for 30 years, now Iiving in Northern Vermont. Brought back many memories. We used to camp at Greenfield State Park. Love your home.
Everything so beautiful ❤ even the refreshing snow love the table setting just stunning .Love the Windsor double back bench I will have to keep a eye out and see if I can find one just love it .Your home is so inviting and beautiful . ❄️
I'm sure the trees are very grateful to have all that heavy snow removed.
Glad you enjoyed it!
It's so sweet how you care for each other😊
I feel blessed every day.
Those fabrics are just beautiful!! Love so many spots in New England. TY for sharing! 😊❤️👍
Linda, the house looks gorgeous.🎊 You did what you could outside. ❄️ 👏🤍💙
