I became a ships diver ( lower qualification than clearance ) in 1972 at age 19. Intensive and brilliant course .
I did the same in 78
Excellent episode. Worth watching the 1958 film the silent enemy about laurence crabbe and his exploits in gibraltar.

@@unconventionalsoldierpodcast I start my basic training at hms Raleigh two weeks today and my chosen branch is Mine clearance diver so atleast I’m a bit more informed!

One of my jobs down south was to go around San Carlos during the night, throwing scare charges into the water as an anti diver measure.
