With this Wax Planet foam I find it has the same cleaning power as Bilt Hamber but because it's thick I can take my time and go around the badges, grille and every nook and cranny with a soft brush. 👍
For me there's nothing more effective than contact cleaning. I snow foam my car and then use a wash mitt over the snow foam. Rinsing the mitt in fresh water every so often. Then a final blast with the pressure washer .I suppose it's just like using the foam as a shampoo. But I get great results.
Nice video as always! Heard many brilliant things about EB! Has it’s uses especially since it produces thick foam! Bilt hamber through a foam lance is good but you need to stick to the PR dilutions to get those good results. Over the winter I (and many others) have been using autofoam through a pump sprayer. 50ml in a 1L pump sprayer and it strips 95% of dirt with ease! You mean pre rinse the pre-rinse with water. I dont do this generally no.. I get better results without that water film on the car. That film of water knocks down the product by at least another half and also the product does not dwell so well. 99% of the time its not that important but generally I will apply the prerinse to a dry car.
@@ForensicDetailing Thanks for replying Jon. By soft / pre-rinse by general hose and not pressure washer is to rid the larger pieces of dirt that may be lurking about and which snow foams wouldn't tackle. I kind of understand how this could affect dwelling times though, after the first snow foaming no harm in a second foaming is there, after all the equipment would still be out prior to any contact wash.
As I understand it you put the foam on a dry car because when the crud is then washed off there's more lubrication than water alone. How much actual difference that makes to your clear coat, if any, I wouldn't know.
The winter road film is my worst enemy! I drive around 1000-1300 miles per week between Sheffield and Cumbria - which means all kinds of roads - and the car gets one hell is pasting from the salt, countryside muck, and most of the countryside ends up stuck to the bloody doors on those miserable days 😅 I wash the car twice per week minimum to keep on top of it and my go-to snow foam has always been Bilt Hamber Auto Foam. It does work well, but it can't touch the crap that builds up on my wheels and lower half of the car. I've found Koch Chemie Green Star at 10:1 to be very effective. But ultimately the most effective thing I've used yet was a coat of Fusso Coat, which seemed to make huge difference in how easy the car was to clean after. I found that after the application the jet wash alone could shift maybe 90% of the crap, as opposed to maybe 50% before (even with a snow foam). The effect seemed to wear off after 5000 miles though (car was prepped before the Fusso Coat and maintain with wax safe products) so I've been experimenting with toppers to help maintain this effect.
If I have seriously bad traffic film that is greasy i will just give a pre spray of a off the shelf degreaser from one of the big box stores and it really helps to cut that grime fast.
Always useful information on whatis good to use on your cars. I am having g problems with car shampoo. What is the ones to look out for and what to avoid. When I wash a car I prefer to have soap suds, but have not found a decent shampoo that gives me the suds. What is the better ones to use?

Saw your vid on Karcher upgrade with a quick release gun & snow foam lance. Purchased kit via your link and used your discount code. Bought a 5ltr Bilt Hamber’s snow foam. I dunno joshua, because the underlying tests are the same the results should translate.. what I dont want is for the next video to be like another Bilt Hamber "thing" Id like another product to win and get the plaudits I think.
Jeez that Karcher K7 pressure washer is loud!!. That is why my next pressure washer is going to be a Nilfisk as they seem to run much less decibels. Ideal for them early morning weekend washes.
its a 180bar machine. If you want the equivalent pressure from a Nilfisk Mc4m 180 you will pay close to a 1000 pounds (versus 350 pounds). The cheapo Karcher also has 5 year guerentee. Nilfisk is viable down at the 150 pressure remit though but above that they become very expensive.
Great vid as always Jon... Regarding your next snow foam test... Are you planning on including BH, even as a control / benchmark product?? Given how well it outperformed the others in the previous snow foam comparison test?
I wont need to because the dirt sim test kind of takes care of it. but I can sort of demo with BH or magi foam that there are prewashes that can remove my dirt simm, if all the products fail to in the next test.
Hi Jon have you got an extended hose there for the K7 I could probably do with an extended one myself, also for checking the quick release attachments are on properly I usually turn the pressure off and then just point at the floor like you do but less chance of stuff flying anywhere at all that way but it does make it a bit long winded :D

In my opinion its very difficult to be able to test a car if it has been cleaned properly when the car is still wet.Let it dry to see if the dirt has been removed or not.
With those high powered TFR’s I would be very worried about corrosion. That’s why I use bilt Hamber, no corrosion. Also I would be using the hose with no nozzle to really flush out the car after pressure washing it off to avoid corrosion
Would be very interested to see a corrosion test of the “popular” or “detailing scene” TFR’s. I have a feeling these things could do some damage over time if they aren’t rinsed off well.
alkalinity acts as a basic rust inhibitor for amphoretic materials. So sometimes stronger caustic alkalines wont promote corrosion to steel but they might cause corrosion on other materials or they might be corrosive to other materials. Its important to draw this distinction. the most corrosive materials to steel ive seen were certain mild PH neutral soaps.
Thats an interesting lance alternative you got there on the karcher John, where you got it from? If only there was an good one for the 'live-of-his-own-sh*t' hose ;)
i have been watching snow foam car washing videos and reading about it a lot. what i realized is that snow foam is in no way better than DEGREASER only MORE EXPENSIVE! i have always used degreaser to disolve dirt on heavy dirty car then rinsed it with high pressure before contact washing and i have never get a single scratch on the car paint from contact wash.
Hi Jon, just wondering if you have ever used Krystal Kleen Detail Citrus Magic ? I have been using BH Autofoam but I truthfully did not find it so good. Probably screwed up dilutions or something but its not foamy but runny and seems to leave alot of grime behind so I was checking a Citrus based idea and heard of this product. Your opinion would be great. Cheers mate.
autofoam is not foamy and it is runny but it does more work in 5 seconds than most foams do in 10 minutes (thats also not an exageration). Autofoam will have the most positive effect on road film and grime over ever other product ive tested against even TFR's. Some guys want a really think foamy prewash though, some might want a citrus.. Theres no right or wrong. best thing you can do it just try products untill you find one you like.
very important to get right one of the K7 will pulse. In2detailing can sell you the right size. Or if you just want like the white nozzle get size 40 and you should be ok.. if it pulses get wider orrafice. search ebay. or ask in2detailing.
I’d be curious to see the results compared to a heavy dose of pressure blasting. With my 4Runner coated with the latest turtle wax offerings it manages to get most of the crud off with slow concentrated passes. Not close enough to tear paint, but close enough to work the dirt off
How much does a foam cannon dilute the chemicals by the time it hits the paint? If I wanted 1:10 dilution on the paint, what dilution should go in the foam cannon? 2800 psi, 2.3 gpm
totally varies from lance to lance... and even the adjustment nozzle scales differently on different lance products.. And yer your pressure washer can effect it. you have to do testing on your own system to work this out. So load up lance 1:10 then set nozzle how you normally use it and fill up bucket untill you empty lance. Measure total amount of liquid in bucket versus how much you put in lance to give you ratio. and you can convert that to PIR. Maybe 1:10 might be 0.5% pir ????? giving you very very rough guess please dont quote me on that.
Looks like you might need to top up the protection on the m140. I’m always topping up 😂 I do notice a big improvement of the daily self cleaning when I use wet coat to top up I notice when it rains the car tends to stay much cleaner. Really impressive results.
Jon, this is awesome topic, been using BH auto foam during these winter months and sometimes not sure how well it performs.. I suspect the application of it is very important for good results?
sling it on, blast it off. At same concentration as other product it is still more powerfull and the speed it works compared to other products is a noticable thing. If its not stripping off the dirt well its simply because that film is like stubborn or something... Its not always possible to sort of insta strip the road film. sometimes you need to go again... Ive used it for so long and Ive yet to find anything the cleans as well as this, it cleans more than the nasty stuff with phospheric acid in it etc..
How do get that foam with electric power washer? What brand is it? Do you water softener? Is this soap as good as bilt hamer still looking for the best touchles car soaps
Karcher K7 I believe he uses, autobrite snow foam lance with quick release connector. Not sure on the water softener part, I would say not, as filtered water is preferred to the final rinsing stage so as to not leave water spots depending on how hard the water is in your area
Please could you tell me why you use the snow foam Lance in a different gun ie not the karcher digital one. Also what’s the benefits of the Angled Lance? Cheers just bought a K7 and not used my snow foam yet
more control without the extrion its much better in wheel arches etc or engine bay.. with extenion you get better reach and hit low without bending. and you have nice quick release system instead of the dreaded karcher iron man twisted thing :)

I always pre rinse with pressure washer first. 8 below will still sit and dwell for at least 10 mins. This allows plenty of time for brush work etc. I think cleaning power and value for money this is hard to beat.
Looks like your driveway is getting ready for a pressure wash! You should do a collaboration with Bourmouth Jet washing channel. He’s a great guy with awesome channel.
I can sort of do that. but the dirt sim test is kind of the bench mark. BH stripped it off. Im interested to see if anything else can. Magi foam did as well. couple of others were effecting the dirt sim. some had no impact.
As an ex-valeter, I hate TFR. It's evil stuff, which (if it's strong) strips off everything applied to protect your paintwork lol. We use it at work for the 'service washes', but I wouldn't want it putting all over my own car thank you.
thats like a traditional caustic TFR though nik. I know what you mean they are nasty.. can cause unpainted brake calipers to go white instantly, can stain plastic trim if it dries... but theres sort of milder non caustic ones now which are a bit safer. but autofoam from bilt hamber is more powerfull than most TFR's at breaking down grime and its so surface safe it negates the need for a TFR.

thats because I rinsed that first test off. then the car then has a film of water over it. So second spray mixes with water and is generally runnier and wetter and falls of the car more. hence why I like to snowfoam dry.

Saw your vid on Karcher upgrade with a quick release gun & snow foam lance. Purchased kit via your link and used your discount code. Bought a 5ltr Bilt Hamber’s snow foam. It made fairly good foam nothing crazy thick. It did a great job of pre wash, fantastic lubricity plus it enhanced gloss and refreshed my megs ultimate paste wax hydrophobicity to use a few choice descriptives from your work sir. I am very pleased with it all. Thank you.
thanks Will appreciate you taking the time to say this means a lot.
Forensic Unplugged - where do did u get the lance extension pls same guys In 2 Detailing?
@@willlowbridge350 its just a generic one from ebay amazon cost 7 quid. just put in like quick release extention. I think in2detailing are going to stock a better one soon mine has no handle.
Forensic Unplugged 👍
Could you please put another link to that video, too many videos to go through. Thanks.
It'd be great to include something we know as a control into the upcoming test such as BH AutoFoam I reckon. Just so we can visualise the results as well as just having the other video for reference.
THICCCCC
Really liked this live test video. Post more videos like this very fun entertaining.
i do like the look of the lance and long hose you are using. does this fit all karcher models and if so where can i get one?
cheers
Great vid as always Jon...
Regarding your next snow foam test... Are you planning on including BH, even as a control / benchmark product?? Given how well it outperformed the others in the previous snow foam comparison test?
I wont need to because the dirt sim test kind of takes care of it. but I can sort of demo with BH or magi foam that there are prewashes that can remove my dirt simm, if all the products fail to in the next test.
@@forensicunplugged4295 I guess that would do it, remembering how well BH did on your patented dirt sim lol 👍🏼
Looking forward to it.
Cannot wait for the comparison test !!!!!
Hi Jon have you got an extended hose there for the K7 I could probably do with an extended one myself, also for checking the quick release attachments are on properly I usually turn the pressure off and then just point at the floor like you do but less chance of stuff flying anywhere at all that way but it does make it a bit long winded :D
no K7 comes with huge hose mate.. check out my review on it. its a great great machine.
Where did you get the long Lance to go to that trigger gun can you send me a link please

Where's the Autobrite Magifoam ? Hands down one of the best I've used in my opinion
in the first video mate.. search you tube for "best snow foam"
My go to snow foam brilliant stuff
TFR VS 20:1 or 10:1 bilt Hamber snow foam with Surfex HD booster in it...easy win for bilt Hamber fans
Very impressive cling. Be interesting to see the cleaning power compared to something like Bilt Hamber auto foam
I agree. Or even bilt Hamber boooosted with SURFEX HD!!! Nothing stands a chance!!!!
Just put surfex hd in your foam and it instantly supercharges it
Wax Planet 8 below is seriously impressive stuff and i normally use Bilt Hamber autofoam but this stuff is much better in my opinion
Thats an interesting lance alternative you got there on the karcher John, where you got it from? If only there was an good one for the 'live-of-his-own-sh*t' hose ;)
yo werner is a autobrite older PA lance with dr dirt flask and 1.1 orrafice upgrade and quick release for the in2detailing gun.
@@forensicunplugged4295 Ok, looks like its made fo eachother, unfortunately In2Detailing doesn't ship tyo belgium i believe. Thanx anyway ;)
Rear windscreen could use a fresh coat of Fusso or RainX
Hi. Do you have a link to the extension wand you used?
same question here Jon, can't seem to find a good short one, with plastic grip.
i have been watching snow foam car washing videos and reading about it a lot.
what i realized is that snow foam is in no way better than DEGREASER only MORE EXPENSIVE!
i have always used degreaser to disolve dirt on heavy dirty car then rinsed it with high pressure before contact washing and i have never get a single scratch on the car paint from contact wash.
Should you rinse the car before you add snow foam?
What are those connections John ? Only for Kärcher?
Yo Rock these are quick connect fitments mate. and the gun has a K series adapater yes.
Great video as always. I’ve recently upgraded to the Karcher K7 pressure washer. What size orifice are you using in your foam cannon?
very important to get right one of the K7 will pulse. In2detailing can sell you the right size. Or if you just want like the white nozzle get size 40 and you should be ok.. if it pulses get wider orrafice. search ebay. or ask in2detailing.
Have you a link to the back up channel you speak about? I saw it before but cant remember for the life of me! Thanks Jon 👍🏻
this is the backup channel paddy. the main one is called Forensic Detailing Channel
@@forensicunplugged4295 🤦♂️ yes I see now, didnt realise i was on unplugged!! Cheers buddy
Love the forensic channel! Had good experience with Nerta, have you ever tried it?
I not tried tommy thank you mate.
I prefer to apply Auto Foam by pump spray cause it works amazingly that way , no need to foam :) way easier
I’d be curious to see the results compared to a heavy dose of pressure blasting.
With my 4Runner coated with the latest turtle wax offerings it manages to get most of the crud off with slow concentrated passes.
Not close enough to tear paint, but close enough to work the dirt off
Great video as usual Jon, I was actually about to comment saying I see u got ur Lance extension 😁 I'll pop over to the other channel now 😎🏴👍🏻
Where would one purchase one of these?
What hand gun and snow foam bottle are you using for your karcher pressure washer?
in2detailing my friend ive done lots of videos on it. search for "going great guns" on you tube.
Have you tried JennyChem SnowStorm? It's also an alkali based TFR snow foam, they also do PH neutral versions?
not tried sorry mate i will make a note
How do get that foam with electric power washer? What brand is it? Do you water softener? Is this soap as good as bilt hamer still looking for the best touchles car soaps
Karcher K7 I believe he uses, autobrite snow foam lance with quick release connector. Not sure on the water softener part, I would say not, as filtered water is preferred to the final rinsing stage so as to not leave water spots depending on how hard the water is in your area
Is a prewash a prewash if you don’t wash afterwards?
argghhh :) :) :) if you pre wash before the prewash what is that called.
Any reason you didn't use the Bilt hamber one or is that covered in another video ?
yer just trying some others gav :)
@@forensicunplugged4295 I broached the idea of moving house so I have a bigger drive to was car on...didn't go down well haha locving the BH stuff so far
Very jealous that you can just pre wash and rinse off, around here that would lead to several days of sanding off water spots
Get yourself a water softener.
@@stevecade857 I had a DI filter but the resin didn't last more than a month so got too expensive
Get one for your house in general not just for car washing. You recharge them with salt. It saves a lot of calcium build up on taps and washing machines etc, etc. Saves money on soaps as well as they go further. If you have hard water it'd be a must for me.
@@stevecade857 water here is 498ppm, very nearly the hardest in the UK. Will have a look into it
After trying all these foams do you still think auto foam is the best I use it in a pump sprayer ik multi at 5% it’s quicker and more affective and better value
I prefer the foam cannon.... cant generally be assed with the pumpy pumpy things.. maybe if I had a bigger one i would like it more.
You use a different handgun for pressure washer than the original one that it comes with..isit for better pressure or something else..very curious please do tell
just better, quick release system is better, better for cleaning out the arches.. better all round.
Thank you for reply. Where can I get one from lol
I have K5 which allows me to set power level for individual task..with this awsome 3rd party hand your using how do I know what setting or pressure its delivering..so I can avoid damage to the car?
@@ChannelZAW you just leave the original karcher trigger in the holster and you adjust the power to how you want it from this (its wireless). I have to do the same on my K7. I use top power for the snow foam lance and lower to 4 of 6 bars for the pressure washer nozzle.
@@forensicunplugged4295 omg lol i ddnt know its wireless lol..i tought is has to be connected to the hose for adjustments
Really looking forward to the snowfoam/TFR shootout video Jon. Deffo will be good to see how the EZ stuff compares. I got some as part of a kit with a lance for something ridiculous like £35 for everything you need plus shampoo & wash mitt! Great value, but I do usually turn to the Bilt Hamber firstly, then foam again with the EZ stuff & leave that on as I wash 👍👍
Hello John , just bought the bilt hamber auto foam but have a 1 series convertible, is it safe for the roof , by the way love the channel thanks
I blieve so but I dont think Ive ever used it on a rag top. for concrete 100% answer message bilt hamber mate. someone here please chip in if you know its rag top safe.
Forensic Unplugged thanks John , I’ve emailed bilt hamber and hopefully if I get a reply I’ll let you know for future reference
Forensic Unplugged reply from bilt hamber , it is a good fabric and roof cleaner
which pressure gun are you using attached to your Karcher?
autobrite PA with dr dirt flask and 1.1 orrafice upgrade and quick release upgrade. stay tuned Sina video coming on this.
How much product and water did you use in the Lance? Awesome video btw!
Daniel Woolmington I’d like to know too😬 I use about 50/50 with my auto foam but it doesn’t go on as thick as Johns in this vid🤔
@@paulthompson9294 this is 1:10 in the lance guys. we using 8 Below in this video right not bilt hamber. autofoam I got about 1:4 normally.
Forensic Unplugged thanks buddy I’ll use it at that ratio then👍 I did notice you also said the auto foam wasn’t as thick so nothing to worry about with mine not being that thick. The autofoam always does the job, but it seems I’m using too much for no real extra performance. Thanks for the reply👍

Can't beat your thorough tests.
Why don't you have a glass coating?
What protection do you have on the car, great beading
adams liquid ceramic wax topped with carpro elixir about 1-2 months old I think
Hi can you please provide link for extension wand.
Pleaseee do a full remove of EZ CAR CARE. Be interesting to see how it compares in your tests
What type of protection does your car have now Jon?
it has adams ceramic liquid wax with Elixir on top. I think Im gonna wash it this weekend and top up with SC mist. Then in the spring summer a very light polish and try something else on it.
why do karcher hoses always tie in nots,,,when the gun is not twisting,,,help
i think its the plastic nature. In the winter they are brital in summer they can soften a bit.. you can get like rubber heavy duty hose mods but nothing is that cheap. I just find on the K7 the system is decent I can pull it out without the machine toppling and once fully extended I can mangage the coil well enough.. but yer not perfact.
What dose Tfr do I’m new to all this
Lovely Jubbly, much more realistic not edited to death LOL.
Do you turn off the water supply to use the snow foam?
If you turn it off pressure washer won’t work
Which paint protection you have on red car? As well on windows?
nothing on the glass although yer looks like it has something maybe someone put something on them before I owned it or maybe its reminants of spray and rinse but I dont think it is (always been like this)
Are you ever going to look at auto finesse products?
Jon, the Karcher Cranzle Gun, is THE best addition to my detailing kit. Absolutely effortless and so balanced even with my Snow Foam or Pre Wash on the end.
I always pre rinse with pressure washer first. 8 below will still sit and dwell for at least 10 mins. This allows plenty of time for brush work etc. I think cleaning power and value for money this is hard to beat.
What coating is on the red car ?
Jon, Loving the unplugged channel!
All those chemicals you sniffing 😂
13:00 FRANK FRANK...come to the window, it's snowing!
Looks like your driveway is getting ready for a pressure wash! You should do a collaboration with Bourmouth Jet washing channel. He’s a great guy with awesome channel.
hey Jon, great video. Could you please add Autoglym Multiwash TFR to the test? its a fairly cheap product when used in a pump sprayer.
I cant add any more now Huub Ive started testign.
Do you guys rate magifoam?
You should add bilt hamber as a benchmark
@@forensicunplugged4295 Good stuff John, I have not tried it. I use cheapo turtle Wax Snow Foam just as a pre-wash, as I can chuck loads on and it doesn't cost me much.
I'll look into the Bilt Hamber foam, thanks.
Nice 1 forensic
Just up the concentration of bilt Hamber and it Will win!!! Or boost it with Surfex HD!!
You garage roof needs a pressure cleaning badly😂you got loads of moss on it. Going green are we??😂😂
:( house needs doing as well but apparently im told its best to leave it there. at some point gonna throw some money at it get it done.
How often can I hand polish my car ?
how thick is clearcoat, does it have clearcoat, what clearcoat products was used, does it have layered clearcoat products. what machine polisher type will you use, what pad will you use, what abrasive product will you use, what arms speed will you use, what pressure will you use, what machine speed will you use, how many compound sets will you do..... And this is not even the tip of the ice berg in terms of considerations.
the answer to your question is complex.
Can you clean the house that way?
"Holy cow" you car is now a meringue.
Mommy, that weird man is talking to himself again...
No way this stuff will beat Bilt Hamber, Road Rage, or even Power Maxxed.
It's a good show foam for sure. But for road film, no good. If you say otherwise I'd call custard. LOL
we will see Im interested to try and determine this. But 8 below is not just a show foam, just from my limited use of it I can say its above average cleaning power for sure.. HDD new road rage and power maxxed Ive started playing with :)
You forgot to dry your car after...
Obsession wax is good 25ml then rest water
So what's the advantages of having a stubby gun and then using a Lance extension. I just use it stubby all the time
Reach matt. So handy like for getting into arches. When blasting out front grills I dont have to bend etc.. dunno though small car you can get away without it. but when you have one you will use it I think,
@@forensicunplugged4295 so why not just use the normal Lance?
@@TruckerMatty93 Because it doesn't have the angled end on it. It's so handy for rinsing the roof and getting into the arches etc without bending too much etc.
@@TruckerMatty93 yer and quick connects so you can go to little gun to get into arches etc.. its just better than the big plastic thing that comes with it..
The 3 foams/pre washes i use are BH AF, wax planet eight below and autoglanz spritzer and i love all 3, and you wouldn't go wrong with either of them.
But for some reason i don't know why i prefer autoglanz spritzer, be interested to see how it fares in your test with all the others.
Very surprised to see snowfoam cling like that on protected waxed and polished surface but when you spray the whole car it was struggling to cling 🤨
thats because I rinsed that first test off. then the car then has a film of water over it. So second spray mixes with water and is generally runnier and wetter and falls of the car more. hence why I like to snowfoam dry.
The lance was nearly out of foam thats why
Forensic Unplugged ah that makes sence, do you experience first cling with most snowfoams when applied on dry car? When my car is waxed and protected I struggle to get my foam to stick but then again I’m using bilt hamber which isn’t soo thick
NOE King i always pre rinse before foam but you will still find eight below will stick to a pre rinsed car .AF like you say is harder to get to dwell but it still does its job very well
Honey! hes spraying half the car again!
Definitely the best colour 140i
