  • Ford Superduty owners that are LEAKING OIL need to watch this video and see if this applies to them. What is up Powerstroke Family!!!! Hope you all are well. Tonight I wanted to show you all I do not really see too much on my pick ups but a ton of on the cab chassis models. The CCV system in the cab chassis clog up way faster on the due to idling. When they get plugged up, the crankcase pressure likes to get high enough & will actually start to push oil out of seals such as these. This trucks CCV did not have excessive crankcase pressure. New seal, fixed, happy forever customer. Tell me what you guys think, have YOU had this seal replaced???? Remember to LIKE - COMMENT - SUB - SHARE See you guys on FRIDAY!!

    For seals like that I’ve used a J hook battery hold down bolt, put a socket over the shaft of the bolt, washer and nut. Improvised slide hammer.

    I'm 52 come March off this year and I started working on cars at 8 years old passing wrenches to my father when he worked on a car and that's how I learned. I'm thinking about selling my 2011 6.7l that I bought new back in 2011. It's my first diesel and this is just to damn much work. Anything that you have to do to that SOB under the hood requires for you to take off that top of the engine. What a mistake I made buying a diesel. Love the power of it but to me it's not worth it. If I could do it all over again I would of bought the gasser. Great video buddy and my hats off to you but this is too much work. Take care my friend and thumbs up on your video. 👍👍👍

    Thanks Arod! Just picked up my 2015 6.7 and had an oil leak, after asking several people and watching your video I’m pretty positive it’s my number 5 or 6 injector seal. Taking it into the shop for some tranny service this week and going to have them take a look at the injector seals. Thought it was CCV but it’s not, also thought it was upper oil pan but I’m 90% positive now it’s my injector seals. Been watching your videos almost every day and appreciate your share of knowledge!

      Agree 100%. We need 100’s if not 1000’s of Arod techs out there... it’s far too easy to get a bad technician these days, or so has been my experience with dealer shops nowadays. And it’s common across ford, gm and Honda. Can’t speak to the other brands though...

    I just done this job eight of them. The customer thought I overcharged him labor only charged 300 customer supplied all parts worked in a big truck shop. I can do a Volvo semi truck and half the time and replace all the injectors and program them and labor alone was $2200, so I don’t understand how they think they got overcharged. The passenger side is hard to do.

    In cases like that, I use both a paint mark and wrench angle. On a Honda crank pulley, for example, the spec is 60 degrees more after torquing. That’s one flat or corner of a bolt’s hex head. They also make wrenches that measure angle

    Yet another EXCELLENT vid by my man A-ROD!!! You know, I can count on my hands, how many times I've ever needed to re & re injectors on a 6.7. The 6.0s, not so much. If that, by itself doesn't speak to its reliability, I don't know what does. Watching this vid has made me remember the idiosyncrasies of having to do this. I have that exact same tool you have made by Matco. Except mine is a Blue Point. I find that it doesn't fit the flare nut properly (so much for Snap-On quality). I have since resorted to only using a 17mm crow's foot for this task. I use it on the Eco turds as well, when I'm into the high pressure fuels for whatever job I have on hand. I do however, LOVE that injector removal tool. I think after watching this vid, I'm going to have to order one for myself. I know that ProMaxx stuff can be a little spendy. I just bought their hub and bearing removal tool that's supposed to be the cat's ass for Explorer hub and bearing assemblies that tend to need a gazillion foot-pounds of force to separate from the wheel knuckles. Funny enough, I have yet to use that tool since purchasing it. I didn't know Ford updated the fastener for the injector hold-downs to a 10mm bolt instead of that cheesy TX-47 bolt. Kudos to Ford for that. Learn something new everyday.

    Hey brother good to see another fine video from a pro! I want to pass on a piece of good practice from my master tech at ford. Always clean area around any plug or injector that will expose contaminants that may enter the bore on any engine especially newer diesels like that badass 6.7 powerstroke your working on here in this video. Interference fit pistons and tolerances as tight as the ones in this engine do not tolerate any shit in the engine I know you probably know this already but did not see it used in this video. Valuable info to the shaky DIY'er. Just sayin...keep on rockin it man 👍

    3. Don’t break the fuel return line

    I’m going to have to have this repair performed on my 2013. Looks to be the furthest back on drivers side. Would i also need to replace the CCV box?

  • @CodyJames29
    @CodyJames29 Рік тому +1

    Hi I have the same leak same side possibly the same injector but maybe one over (haven’t got my camera down there yet) Is the fuel line you need to replace the same on all 4 injectors, or is the part number specific to the injector. Also I’m assuming no programming needed if the injector is reused and goes back to the same spot. Thanks Mike.

    Question: I have a co-worker with a 2015 250 with the 6.7. When we left work in the morning, we noticed his truck was smoking big time out the exhaust. The outside temp was 5 degrees. He said it stops by the time he gets home. What could be causing this in the cold weather. I have a 2020 6.7 and it never does that. He said he has 106,000 miles on it.
