I've all but quit using weights. Tired of sinking money into lead for no apparent good reason. I think I catch more fish without lead, and I definitely save a lot of money.
I also only use swivels if I'm leaving lines out like over night, which I haven't done in years. I usually paddle up stream setting out lines, maybe a mile. Goof around there for a while, then pick em up on the way back. All within 6 hours or less usually.
I also will put a bunch of lines out in a small area, all within earshot and then fish for bait with a rod. Especially on the lake.
I like a buntline hitch or davy knot for attaching hooks. Easier to get single strand through eyes than the doubled line of a loop. I waste more line than you because I have to cut it to get it off, but it's only a couple of inches each time. I make my lines a little long for this reason.
    Limb lining is great.

I don’t even use weights or swivels. And catch just as much if not more than anyone else

same unless its crazy current. I use #6-10 hooks and with chicken or cut carp it sinks just fine. River though i keep a pole with a lead weight on it to measure depth for my line. Its important during june-july where i live as the flatheads will be nest sitting, in which i toss multiple lines on single tree to hopefully hit a nest.
