I think it looks absolutely amazing. I personally like the painted ceiling. It looked too much like a sauna before. Now it looks very high end. Great job! 👍🥰
I’m glad you painted the ceiling, it’s a lot more cleaner- and modern-looking. I had dirty old tongue and groove on my kitchen ceiling and I painted it white, now it looks so bright and fresh. I would probably keep any period, detailed woodwork unpainted, but not the 20th C. stuff.
I was skeptical about the ceiling paint, but as u showed the final result, indeed it looks so much better! Also reflects a bit more light than the original wood. Well done!
The gym looks wonderful, and as always, I said out loud “They are indefatigable!” 😀 I like the painted ceiling, and the flooring is perfect. What a great room to workout in! Personally, I am really looking forward to the garden reno. Hope you get to have a bit of a rest time, if only for a bit! Well done, Emma and Simon, and pats to the B’s!
Incredible. You definitely did the right thing painting the ceiling 🙂. I'm so jealous of your gym, I just won't go to a public one, I'm way too self conscious. Enjoy it, you clever pair xx
Love what you've done - it really makes the space feel welcoming! ❤ Yeeesss to painting the ceiling! I live in Denmark and have lived in a house with tongue and groove ceilings - they were as common as artex for a time! I hated them! I also lived in a rented flat with solid wood flooring and doors of a similar orange colour as you t&g - at the end I felt like I was living in a cigar box. So all in all, I applaud your decision! My husband has one simple rule as far as laying flooring goes - it should be laid at right angles to floor joists (if they exist and is the same as ceiling joists). This mimics how a solid wood floor would be laid, and gives consistency throughout the house if using the same flooring throughout. It's a bugbear when we see a home with flooring in two different directions!
Totally agree with your husband’s rule, whatever direction is chosen for one room I’d always choose for another. This is why we went for one fluid floor inside the house, it’s all connected 🙌🏼
ciao! bellissimo!!! I did not like the wooden ceiling and I also thought I would not like the colour you choose to paint it but I was wrong, very wrong! The effect is beautiful, clean, neat relaxing and calming. I really like the result! thanks so much for your video. ❤
Amazing transformation, another great job congrats to you both 👏🏻👏🏻 Such a serene light and bright space to work out in now. Ceiling looks so much better painted, great decision. Also the snacks basket box tops it off 👌🏻☺️
Are you even renovating if there are no surprise problems? I thought I would not like the paint on the wood ceiling but I completely agree with you. Looks fantastic!
Haha well exactly but you’d be surprised at how many people go in to a renovation and don’t realise that they’re going to unearth some issues so I just like to remind people that it always happens so more people can be prepared 🤞🏼
Another incredible transformation - painting the ceiling made such a difference. Your cutting in skills on the skirting is 🔥 I’d have covered the new floor with paint if that was me 😂. May I ask where you got the huge garden pot please? ( very start of the video). Have a fab Sunday!
That’s an incredible project Emma, you must save so much money by doing it yourselves, and the achievement in doing so. Very intrigued by what you’ll do with the swimming pool area. X
Yes definitely and we learn so many skills 🙌🏼 We also enjoy doing these projects together, it can be stressful sometimes but we also have a lot of fun ☺️
I watch all your videos but I really enjoy the home renovation videos more than the fashion one. I suggest you remove the mirror and cover one side of the walls with a big mirror. It will make the gym look bigger and you will also benefit from it while doing weights excercises.
Wow what a transformation!! Absolutely amazing job 🎉. Can I ask what speaker you use in this room (plugged into the wall)? I have a speaker but the space for it is empty so I have to leave it on the floor. Yours looks much neater when plugged in the wall socket.
We just used our old Sony surround sound that we had in the house before we bought our Sonos system. I’d highly recommend Sonos though, they’re great speakers! We have them all around the house 🙌🏼
I stumbled across your account 2 days ago, and I have binged watched your entire home transformation! You have a beautiful home and a great eye for interior design! Do you do this for a living? I’ve really enjoyed watching, thank you 🙂
Wow! Beautiful work guys! My house needs your touch Emma - fancy a trip to Western Australia?! You have both put so much love and energy into your place - do you feel this will be your ‘forever home’? ✨🌺
Good morning guys.Emma hope you are fully recovered now, must have been agony. As said before you two are such a strong team.Everything you do has such a high standard of finish, very well done looks fabulous.
WOW - just WOW!!! Fantastic remodel. I am not going to say "Noooooooo" over the ceiling, I like it. I don't like orange wood, so anything is an improvement. I do love wood, just not the orange kind. I have a question: Can you explain Simon's technique on the mire saw? The way he cuts a bit, then another bit, then runs the saw through the whole piece of wood? I have just purchased a sliding mitre saw, and am a complete novice, and wondered - does this stop splintering? Is there a genius idea that Simon has for cutting ? Very curious on his techniques, please share and we will call it "Simon's Cut". I promise!!!
Oh Emma had no idea you fractured a rib in Florida 😳. How on earth did that happen? Hope you are healing well and getting the healthcare support needed? (I work in the NHS😉). The gym looks incredible! And Simon is a DIY demon!!!! We are just about to move house and want to do something similar to one end of a very large garage to turn into a woodwork workshop so my hubby doesn’t freeze in Winter, so this is incredibly helpful xxx all the love to you, Simon panda the fur babies as always, Pippa xxx
Haha yeh unfortunately it was on day 1 as well 😭🙈 I did it riding Tron for the first time. It didn’t stop me though, I took some painkillers and powered through 🥴 For a rib there’s nothing that can be done, I just had to rest and let it heal and I’m all good now ☺️🙌🏼
What a great space you've both made Emma! My daughter and her partner are renovating a space for a home gym and I've sent the video link on to them! One point - could you not have used the sprayer when you used the mist coat on the walls? Love to you Simon and the Bs. Xxx
Yep the sprayer could absolutely be used for a mist coat and even for the normal paint but I was using it for another project so it had other paint in there. Tbh for a mist coat it’s just quicker to use a roller, the prep of taping would have taken 10 times longer and me just zipping around with a roller x
What a transformation! I’d pay monthly membership for that 😆 may I ask why you kept the pool cupboard and didn’t open it up given you’re going to replace the pool?
We’re not replacing the pool, we’re simply using the space for something else. The actual pool will stay, we’ll just board over it. If anyone wanted to remove the flooring and fill the pool back up in the future then everything is still there 👍🏼
Lol I giggle when people paint wood and know they’d better head off the barrage of comments coming at them 😂 Wood *can* be beautiful, but it’s not always in harmony with the overall aesthetic of the space. And, quite frankly, some wood looks better when it’s painted. I think it looks fantastic. Harmonious with the main house. Well done, Emma and Simon! As always 😊
I always know they’re coming for me with their pitchforks 🤣 but I’ve been surprised this time. The majority of people have said yes to the painted wood ceiling 🙌🏼
We had these types of ceilings everywhere on the upper floor of our house and these ceilings are mostly slanted. Who thought it was a good idea to make slanted ceilings darker than the walls? It makes them feel even lower and it's giving sauna vibes. Yes "but it's real wood!!!" but I don't think that's a good argument for keeping something that just doesn't work in a space.
Exactly, plus wood can always be stripped back and it’s only pine so not like it’s a beautiful oak or something 🫣 We’re so happy with the colour, it’s perfect in here 🙌🏼
I think it looks absolutely amazing. I personally like the painted ceiling. It looked too much like a sauna before. Now it looks very high end. Great job! 👍🥰
Looks amazing! You guys are professionals at this point you can’t call yourself DIYers 🤩
Yes, they are professionals
I’m glad you painted the ceiling, it’s a lot more cleaner- and modern-looking. I had dirty old tongue and groove on my kitchen ceiling and I painted it white, now it looks so bright and fresh. I would probably keep any period, detailed woodwork unpainted, but not the 20th C. stuff.
The painted ceiling does look nice, especially with that color!
Wow, your gym renovation looks so good. What a lovely space to work out in. ❤
It really is, we’re so happy with how it turned out 🙌🏼
I was skeptical about the ceiling paint, but as u showed the final result, indeed it looks so much better! Also reflects a bit more light than the original wood. Well done!
"The Gym" sign was unexpected! so calm and beautifull space. I agree with your paint ceiling choose.
Amazing transformation as ever. Love watching your makeovers.
Amazing job.......So professionals!!!!!
What a transformation. Love it.
Great job, the ceiling colour goes well with everything else.
I love the ceiling colour. All looks fantastic
Incredible. You definitely did the right thing painting the ceiling 🙂. I'm so jealous of your gym, I just won't go to a public one, I'm way too self conscious. Enjoy it, you clever pair xx
Yeh I’m not really a fan of gyms for the same reason. We’re really lucky to have a space like this that we can use as a gym x
A clean, fresh gym after all, this is great!! Have a beautiful Sunday! 💫🙏
Thank you, you too ❤️
Looks so much larger! Thank you for all the detailed narration!
What an amazing transformation Emma xxxx
Very nice Emma!
Gym just looks amazing emma, you have both done it again, hats off to you both, hope you have fun using it😊
Always lovely seeing your home being made more suited to you and Simon, really you too are a great team. Great job x
You worked your magic once again. Looks amazing. Congrats on the project to your husband and you.
Thank you x
Looks fab, Emma - love all rhe neutrals, perfect. You and Simon have worked so hard, well done! X
Love it 🤍 wishing you a speedy recovery 😊
What a joy to see Emma; it looks absolutely stupendous!! ♥♥
Thank you x
What a difference, it looks great! I always enjoy your renovation videos, and fashion ones, too🙂
Beautiful renovation Emma.
Nice. And I do like the paint on the ceiling ❤

It looks great. I personally would have been too lazy to do the ceiling but I think it really completes the room
What a lovely space! Again, you have both done an amazing job! 😊
Now it’s time to make a video about your trainings! Love your content and aesthetic ❤
ciao! bellissimo!!! I did not like the wooden ceiling and I also thought I would not like the colour you choose to paint it but I was wrong, very wrong! The effect is beautiful, clean, neat relaxing and calming. I really like the result! thanks so much for your video. ❤
You guys are so hardworking! The gym looks amazing ❤

Wow this is an amazing renovation! Can't wait to see how the pool willl turn out :)
Amazing transformation, another great job congrats to you both 👏🏻👏🏻 Such a serene light and bright space to work out in now. Ceiling looks so much better painted, great decision. Also the snacks basket box tops it off 👌🏻☺️
Haha gotta have those protein bars in there 🤤
The space looks fabulous
It looks incredible…..I adore the ceiling❤
Love it. Workouts in style!
Great clean look and the best part was the Etsy The Gym sign! Great job and hello to Simon the hardest working husband along side his wife! 👍
Brilliant job!! 🤩
Beautiful!! Love the Roman Plaster color!
Where could I get a Simon?
Painting the tongue and groove 👏🏻🏆 looks great
Amaizing Emma, wonderful!!❤

Thank you ❤️
I had no idea you had fractured your rib - so glad you are on the mend!!! Stay Safe!!!
Beautiful renovation Emma. The gym looks amazing! Happy Sunday x
Thank you x
I really like the painting of the vaulted ceilings, you made the right decision. BTW how is your rib doing?
Fully healed now thank you ❤️
Oh my goodness! So amazing!
Linen cover for the exercise ball is next-level detail.
Haha thank you 😘
Gym looks good!!!
Thank you 👍

Cutting in is my super power 😏👌🏼 The large pots are from a local garden centre and I painted them x
Definitely a super power! Thank you so much on the pots, think a Sunday afternoon garden centre visit is on the cards today 😀
What a great gym makeover. ❤
Wow!! You two are awesome @ do it yourselves!! ❤🇨🇦 hope your on the mend( that must have been rough; having injured yourself while away)
More annoying than anything, I hate being delayed with things 🙃
I watch all your videos but I really enjoy the home renovation videos more than the fashion one. I suggest you remove the mirror and cover one side of the walls with a big mirror. It will make the gym look bigger and you will also benefit from it while doing weights excercises.
Very nice. I am sad about the pool, but I know you have or will have a good plan for that.
Nice! Looks great!
Thank you 😘
Amazing makeover 😍
What a great video. It looks amazing.x

Looks amazing and inviting. Enjoy guys 😊

Wow! Beautiful work guys! My house needs your touch Emma - fancy a trip to Western Australia?!
You have both put so much love and energy into your place - do you feel this will be your ‘forever home’?
✨🌺
Haha I would love to 😘
We never bought this as a forever home, we just wanted to get out of London, so as it stands it’s not our forever home x
Beautiful, you both did a fantastic job!
Thank you x
Oh that look amazing ❤❤ Well done. It must be a delight to go and work out in x
It is, way better than before 🙌🏼
Wow looks great.👍..best wishes as always to you Simon and furbabies Xx
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Well done you2!!

So beautiful!
Totally a new nice space to workout in!!

Stunning Stunning Stunning 😍 ✨️ ❤️ 💖 👌 💕

There he goes again, Simon with no work gloves. He's a wizard.
