EXACTLY! I am wrapping up my PPL very soon here in Georgia. My initial intent was to go straight to ATP. However, I was talked out of it by the smaller local school here. I will be heading to either the Tampa or Jacksonville campus in the near future to complete what I originally started. I wanted something very structured just as your video describes. THANK YOU for sharing your path. I'm glad I found your video. Also....I am not the "traditional" student. I'm 52 and left a 25 year career in the transportation industry to "start over". I started my PPL journey 30 years ago while serving as an active duty Marine. I logged a bit over 40 hours back then. Fast forward to 3 months ago and 35 more hours, I'm ready for my check ride. It is NEVER too late. So for those out there wondering....Go for it! Thanks again Ashlyn. You've helped validate my decision.

Thank you for sharing your experience! As you say. It’s never too late. I’m originally from Peru 🇵🇪 and I was working on my English the past 3 years. I hope I can make true my dream of being a commercial pilot

Blink twice if someone from ATP is holding you at gun point behind the camera making you do this.... jokes aside . Thank you! I'm glad to hear of some people that enjoy their ATP experience, I wish I could go myself.

I’m also looking to become an airline pilot for my career as well! This video was very useful for me! I’m currently a private pilot working on my instrument rating! I got my IFR checkride coming up this February 22nd, exactly a year after my first solo flight!

I watched your video a couple weeks ago because I was trying to get into ATP. Now, I am enrolled and set to start classes soon, and I'm pretty sure I just saw you in some Elevate Training Videos on the Student Extranet! Congrats on your progress! Are you working for an airline now?

💪✌ starring ATP in January they got rid of the job offering but I'm hoping it'll be an opportunity for me since most flight schools pay double what atp pays I'm hoping enough students won't stick around 😅 ✌

You didn't mention financing ATP and the cost of the program being around 80/65K depending if you go in with your PPL so I am guessing you were fortunate enough to have someone pay for your flight training. ATP does look like a great school but the idea of an 80K loan and from what I've heard due to Covid they are not guaranteeing CFI Jobs anymore I am not sure.

But that’s all flight schools. Every flight school you go to you’re looking at 60,000-100,000 depending on how well you study on the ground and how well you do on your flight lessons. ATP might be more appealing for people who rather focus on flying and pay the load back later than taking years paying out of pocket

I’m in the case where I’ll have to finance 100% of my flight training. It only slightly discourages me because I will be heavily in debt, on top of a bachelor’s degree debt that I have now. The only reasons why it might be worth the debt is 1) the passion one has for airline aviation, and 2) the return on investment by pilot salary. Major airlines will reimburse your flight loans somewhat and will pay you a good salary that only increases every year. So at least there is that.

Depends on a few things like how much money you have, and whether or not you want to do college.
