My 3 yr old niece passed away the Tuesday after this song. We drove to the hospital to this song playing on triple J not knowing if she would make it. She loved yellow, Emma the yellow wiggle and her mum. I listen to this daily, she was Wakka Wakka. Her spirit - you know we love her so 💕

The band is great but need to ditch the singer, his voice is flat and out of tune. He is no Gurrumul. It’s a shame there are so many people out there with a hearing deficit. Seriously people.

This is bang on what a cover should be. Not just an identical cover, but creating something entirely artistically new while retaining the basics of the original. Not to sound like a douche but this is art!
First few minutes of this cover makes me cry every time. This was my introduction to King Stingray and now I’m super excited for the rest of their album to drop.
The best cover of Yellow I’ve heard. I’m so proud of my new fav Aussie Band. I’m 62. They get into my soul singing and chanting in language. Hearing Yidaki (Didg) is the only sound I heard overseas that made me think of home. These guys rock!!
This guys voice. The way he holds the note at the end of the line . What Aus music has been missing. Unmistakably Australian

Old mate just slayed banjo, bass and backing vocals no worries. The lead vocals have such a different timbre to Coldplay but executed so fucking well. And all the harmonies are there on guitars and vox.. so good!
These guys just opened for midnight oils second last show in Canberra and honestly, midnight oil are legendary there's no question, but I was shocked at how amazing these guys and their indigenous funky rock sound are. They rocked everyones socks off live! And yet I never knew they could be this soft and touching too! Will definitely be following them, would love to see them live again!

I love this cover so much, what I am about to say has nothing really to do with the song but I feel like It might help someone where I was once, I was once someone who looked down on Indigenous Australians I had this image in my head of a people who were lazy and unwilling to change or move forward, not willing to take the opportunities provided to them, oh how stupid and naive I was brainwashed by a narrative that still persists to this day, that this is all there is, or this is the best there is, and what we have now what we have accomplished is what matters, a good job a good education a nice house, big cars, and fancy things, I once had this idea that it was only land taken, Indigenous Australians died but that is just history.
by chance, I ended up spending some time in the northern territory and met this lovely Indigenous Australian gentleman, he helped me in more ways than I can express, He opened my eyes to the true nature of our world to a real sense of spirituality that I had never experienced in my life, to disconnect and listen to the resonant sound the sound of the earth as it is a living breathing organism infinite in its wonder, how Indigenous Australians see the land truly changed me and has influenced my life and who I have become their connection, and spirituality to all living things, I realized that everything I had in my life and valued was dead things, and here I was looking down on this man when we first met, we talked a lot I learned what was lost cannot be easily fixed by money by houses cars modern-day civilization "opportunity", as horrible as the genocide was and the stolen generation and the endless cycles of poverty struggle destitution a loss of identity, to have your sense of purpose to have your connection to nature severed and then be told to get over it, for many years for many generations, its more than just land, it is their home, their everything theirs laws and spirituality are intertwined with the land this formed their culture the health and wellbeing of the earth and the land they stood on, the trauma is deeper than I could have ever imagined the struggles they face to pull yourself out of despair and apathy it is not an easy task, and throwing money at a problem and expecting it be to fixed is no way to solve a problem, I am sorry for how I onced perceived a fellow human who was a much better person than I could have ever dreamed of being.
This individual once told me that he would like to be respected as a person as valued as a fellow human being, to be looked at by a stranger and think that is a man I can trust, and unfortunately not too many people in Australia would view an Indigenous Australian in that light, I hope I can help change things with you, my old friend.

However, I do see an alarming issue with the origins of your enlightenment and newfound appreciation of a group of people.
Please correct me if i’m wrong but it seems that meeting one Indigenous person that impressed you and finding out about the Indigenous people’s terrible struggle and that it was worse than you thought are the key or only, reasons that drove you to change your view.
In other words, the Indigenous people are suddenly graced by your respect not because you’ve learned that United we win and divided we lose or that you have learned to forgive or that you have learned to give everybody a chance before you hate them but because you’ve now discovered they’ve suffered enough for your liking.
This concerns me, sir. I hope you are being good to the people around you, especially other minorities/less lucky ones.
That being said, I’m really happy to hear you’ve progressed your soul into a more loving place

His voice carries. No mean feat, to stand there and deliver like that. Not an oasis song, but even Liam Gallagher, and his tambourine, would give a subtle nod in appreciation to this, I’m sure of it. This is a coming out party. Channeling a muse with deeper roots than anywhere else on earth. Walking a line of such meek authenticity, it breaks your fucking heart, let’s it scar over, and beat anew. There’s no coming back from this. Not a more awe inspiring, paradoxically expressive monotone has graced the Australian airwaves, any airwaves, in a long time. Thankyou.

First time I'm heard this I was in Busselton, Western Australia sitting amongst the Ghost Tree's while the Sun was Rising on a Friday Morning... This was actually such a beautiful experience, Just feeling the warmth of the early morning sun and just listening to this was absolute magic.

I'm from the United States, and when this came on my shuffle I thought it was a country song until I noticed the didgeridoo. The way this band combines instruments, styles, cultures in this cover is so beautiful, and it's deeply moving. This is healing music

I heard this on the radio this morning while taking my son to work and have just watched the video. This has to be up there with the very best Like a Versions. The original song is good but this is next level.
Wasn't sure about this in the beginning but it was downright spiritual by the end. Incredibly moving and I have no idea what the Yolŋu parts even meant (assuming they weren't translation of OG lyrics). Would love it if someone can translate. One of my favourite LAVs 🙏
