we're getting a whole new cosmology behind every little thing thanks to boom studios. they just have to make something out of the other seasons outside MM...
You know, I always find it very ironic that despite that everyone is saying that Disney will just buy everything, the only thing that they don't want is the Power Rangers brand.
Disney only tried to buy everything under bob iger. His predecessor was more conserved, attempting to focus on home media instead. And after iger went overboard with buying the world chapek is now left with an empty vault.
He should be made an official character. Besides the options you said, they could make him his life partner, his dad, or his son. Any of those 5 options would work.
My headcannon on Ninjakon is that he created the Wind and Thunder Morphers with the help of the Aquitar Rangers. I might make a fanfic about that someday.
The issue with "Ninjor" is that there is a character with the same name in Masters of the Universe.. and due to toy licensing, they can't both have the name at the same time. Hence Ninjor was renamed in Masters of the Universe during the early Power Rangers days. When Mattell have a Ninjor in production, neither Hasbro or Bandai could use the name. My guess is rather than renaming Ninjor, Bandai US just recoloured him into a new character to avoid the issue in future.
“At the time there was no line for old ranger history” yes there was. Just two years prior they had the Power Playback line in 2000 and re-released Automorphin figures, the non transforming s1 megazord, and other stuff. And Lightspeed Rescue wave 1 re-released X-Ray versions of Turbo and Rescue Megazords.
One day, Boom Comics Will use Ninjakon as a BIG NEW CHARACTER that was there right from the beginning. Some cool thing like he is Ninjor Brother or Someone from the same planet.
Dude, I needed this video. I REALLY was fascinated when I learned what Ninjakon was and was super confused by it when I saw the Lightning collection version of him!
Ninjakon reminds of Pythor from the Mighty Morphin' toyline. They never appeared in the show, but I still want to get them as an inside joke. Great video!
The Neo-Saban Era had two extra chances to implement Ninjor/Ninjakon to the show: The first was in Super Megaforce, as the Super Sentai it derived footage from - Gokaiger - had a one-episode Cameo of Ninjaman (Ninjor) as one of the 'Grand Powers' - specifically, Kakuranger's. This could have allowed Ninjor to make an appearance in Super Megaforce, and potentially provide access to the Ninjakon BattleZord as a PR-Exclusive show element! The other opportunity came in the 3rd Ninja-Themed Power Rangers Adaptation, PR Ninja Steel/Super Ninja Steel. In its Super Sentai counterpart Ninninger, a Global Ninja Council had been formed since the end of Hurricanger/PR Ninja Storm. Included among its members was the Classic Sentai Hero, Jiraiya - but it's very likely that Ninjaman/Ninjor would also be among its ranks. If Ninja Steel had included this element from its source, they'd have another chance to bring back Ninjor and/or Ninjakon - but it never happened. Hopefully, with Hasbro's focus on discovering the secrets surrounding the Morphin' Masters and the Morphing Grid, characters and Zords like Ninjor and Ninjakon will have another chance to add to the story...
Then again, this is Hasbro we're talking about. Toy exclusive Transformers that never appeared in televised media have been quite popular with fans such as Cog (which was used for Fortress Maximus), Deluxe Insecticons, Ominbots, Transformers after Season 4 such as Powermaster Optimus Prime and Overlord which never saw any animated media in the TF G1 cartoon (not counting the Japanese animes mind you) until years later such as Power of the Primes,Super Megatron, Star Convoy, Battle Gaia, Guiltaur, Sky Garry and Grandus,Roadblock and much more. Them releasing Ninjakon is kinda like those Toy-exclusive Transformers that never appeared on televised media.
There was a Power Rangers toy line back in the day after MMPR called “Power Playback” which rereleased and repackaged old stuff, which was kind of like an anthology line. However, I don’t believe it included Ninjor.
Power Rangers Theory: Ninjor and Ninjakon are the true forms of The Emissaries Three. There is a third yellow one that is out in the world, possibly with the samurai dojo symbol on it
the fact that they putting this budget for a repaint toy-exclusive, like at this point just put him in the show if this is the effort they putting for something that was never even in the show
So, since we're getting a new Ninjakon release, does that mean we could get re-releases of some other toy exclusive zords? Like Silver Titanus and the Pink Shogunzord?
Looking at that commercial break at 6:42 I have the feeling it would have made more sense to release the Fighterform (or how it was called) of the Ninja Megazord we see in the background instead of the Ninjor figur.
I never had any interest in Ninjakon when he was first released, I thought him a Ninjor knockoff. But looking back on him, especially thanks to your analysis on him, I’d say… yeah, he seems kinda cool. Can’t believe I snubbed the poor zord of a purchase.
theory on why Super Legends released Ninjakon rather than Ninjor: the retooling done to make the Ninjastorm Ninjakon wasnt reversable. steel injection molds are hard to make and modify. they just didnt have the budget to recut the mold back into Ninjor.
I would love them to bring it into the comics and have it be related to both Ninjor and that ailen who gave Shane the power up. It would be cool if they made it Ninjor's sister who disagreed with him and established the Academies and make them from the planet the lady came from
I picked up the Hasbro MMPR Ninjor a month ago haha had no idea they had the Ninjakon variant haha this is such a strange rabbit hole. I’m not surprise with Hasbro doing this, I’m mainly a transformer collector and they have brought back and continue to bring many obscure Transformer characters as the years go by, I even jumped in on the Haslab Star Saber crowdfunding which was a surprise due to Victory being a Japanese exclusive series from 1989! Now I’m more curious on what other obscure or strange PR they will dig out to bring back
I just walked by one of these in a Wal-Mart and spent a good few minutes having an argument with the box. "You're name is Ninjor and you're blue, not red! Don't you lie to me!!"
I mean.... it's very easy to see why the Legacy Ninjakon exists. Toy companies love reusing molds to make more money from their existing investments. Ninjakon is the obvious reuse of the Ninjor mold and he can pad out their new Megazord line. Who cares if he has no character, no fanbase? It costs them very little to make since most of the work was done for Ninjor so it's low-risk.
see now, i'm surprised hasbro isn't trying to milk this for all it's worth. like making a ninjor team, they already have red and blue, now they just need a pink, yellow, black and green/white variant with different weapons, seriously i know many fans who'd buy em just for team build collections. these are the types of people who bought the new adventures of heman figures, as well as the demolition man figured just to fill a single shelf all because they shared parts
This was my theory as a kid that ninjakon was ninjor's brother or the same race as ninjor Was secretly living on earth maybe he didn't aid any team of power rangers was because he wasn't needed or he wanted to live a peaceful life and eventually founded the wind ninja school and was a co founder of the thunder ninja school
So I just happened to snap up an original Ninjakon off Ebay for £25 straight after watching this. Reason being, the seller listed it as "Red Ninjor". It's a seller that only sells power rangers toys and Ninjakon is too obscure for them to know what they had. It even has the sword and sheathe. Now my original Ninjor (which I got 3 weeks ago at a toy fair for £3, no sword or sheathe) has a giant ninja twin to do giant ninja stuff (assassinating giant samurai?) with. Or will do once it arrives. Come on Royal Mail, don't fail me now!
i feel ever for a ep, they could have done a crossover for ninja storm, like ninjor needed the help of the ninja rangers as a evil ninja was heading to earth to steal ninjors powers and teams up with lothor, it was def a missed opportunity for power rangers
I mean Ninjakon could have been so easily put into the show especially with the introduction they made just making Ninjakon a statue and saying a line like: Ninjakon was the founder of these Ninjaschool and itcis sayed that he left spheres with powerful spirits trapped inside should theyr power be needed to fight against evil and safe the world. Who knows maby even trow in Ninjor in the same way saying he was the creator of the Thunder school while his brother Ninjakon was the creator of the Storm school. It would also explain than how the Ninja Discs were created. The Spheres were created by Ninjakon and Ninjor created the discs. And Cameron "Cam" Watanabe aka the (original) Green Samurai Ranger could have still used the spheres to create the Zords and Wappons transforming the Spirits inside into them. It would have just made so much more sence.
Why wasn’t deboth in Dino super charge and introduced and adapted alongside lord acaracon doom wing segie or they could had sledge become him as form by asorbing the power of the dark energem
That’s pretty funny I remember seeing that but always wondered why it wasn’t part of the show but Disney thought they could make money off an old character so they reused it an switched the name

Or transformers style he could be an upgraded ninjor after he lost against a villain or ninjor from another universe.

the only explanation of them releasing this unknown, unpopular character THREE times is to cut corners by reusing the Ninjor mold.
They could say that he's apart of the same clan as Ninjor
Ninjakon reminds of Pythor from the Mighty Morphin' toyline. They never appeared in the show, but I still want to get them as an inside joke. Great video!
