I've always wondered why the darn thing doesn't say that anywhere on it. Like cut some people some slack, pool pump companies. I inherited my pool pump when I bought my house. There were no instruction manuals for it. How was I supposed to just know that you should only turn it clockwise? I mean, if I hadn't gotten a pool dude to teach me the ropes before I broke it.

We have 8400 gallons of water so I set it for 8 hours, and just like you said, off it went. Today it looks like the pump is off. No lights or anything. I know it should only run 8 hours, but is it supposed to look completely off like that? Is that how it is until the pump starts?

The filter is taking in water from the pool to the filter but it is not pumping it back into the pool from the filter. All the hose valves are open. Help

Thank you for the helpful video, as was able to complete setup. As I have installed to my new inground pool ( 13ft x 10ft x 4ft ), I have noticed in the week completed that the water is not drawing into skimmer box very strong ( minimal ),could this be caused by air getting into filter ?
This is a dumb question, but I’ve never owned a pool before until now, you said to open the valves while I’m cleaning out the debris, do I close them afterwards or should they stay open all the time?
Can you use filtra balls and about how many pounds of filtra balls? We got this exact filter today but no sand and everyone seems to be using these filtra balls.
@@jessicahunsicker752 I think the intex filter is really good, we have been using it for 3 weeks now and been using the filtra balls. So far, no problems. I do change them out every week and a half. My water is clear, no green stuff, and it catches a lot of stuff I wouldn't think it could like hair, flies, and ants. The only pain is the washing of the filtra balls. Thank goodness we will just have the pool up for 3 months.
Update. Its been two weeks and I’m still getting this issue from time to time. I’ve already changed the sand and I keep having to back wash. All connections have been checked. Even bought pool socks to help collect debris. But still getting this issue
My discharge and suctions are 1.25 can i just use the thread adapters to use this on my intex? I dont want to have to cut an entire new hole for the discharge hose to use the jet with the plunger
@eldressemo I ended up using the same 1.25 holes with the 1.5 hoses seems to work just fine and I have the 14 inch filter on a 1500 gallons pool. Ots an overkill but my pool crystal clear

I bought this pump. But the hose isn’t fitting to my intex pool. Is there an adapter kit you have to buy? My pool hoses and pump that came with the pool are smaller
Are there any adapters that will allow me to connect this to my Coleman pool? The outlet and inlet openings are much smaller on my pool. Mine are like 1 inch and the intex pump is 2 inch.
I did everything as you said and hooked mine up to a stock tank pool but am getting low pressure when i run the filter mode. The pressure is perfect on the recirculation mode but the filter mode runs fine for a few, then sounds like it stops sucking and it seems like there's air in the system. I redid all of your steps to try and get air out and nothing. I even took the cap off to make sure the O ring was seated properly. Any idea?
@@rjschannel7118 yes, it was the O Ring on the connection that goes to that little clear plastic that you can see the water gushing through. I had to replace the o ring there. Then I hooked everything back up and ran it, and opened the bleeder valve slightly for a bit and it ran perfect. I would suggest checking all the gaskets/o rings.

Hello I have the same sand pump but everytime I go too filter my pool. Hit the power button and the flow nice and fast but after filtering for 1 hour the power just slow down like the pump just lose power. Reset this over and over again had a new control valve sent too me from the company and it stills does the same thing..power off and than back on the water flow nice and fast out the system on filter but like an hour into filtering it just loses power..My question too you is that normal?????
@@demetriuswright3533 i had to backwash the system once a day for a few days during the startup, now it will run with good pressure for about 6 hours before the flow starts to diminish

Once a week seems to work for me. You can more or less depending on the pool usage and debris

It can be difficult to ‘feel suction’ from the ports. It’s easier to feel the return. It doesn’t feel very strong, but should be working

Amazon has some 1.25”-1.5” adaptors. Works great

Is 5 hrs enough??? I have mine running for at least 12 hrs a day.
It depends on the amount of use, if you cover it, how warm it is. All thinks that can determine how much filter needs to run

where does the skimmer go
If you have a skimmer, it goes on the rim of the pool by the outlet port. I have a video showing a skimmer if that’d help

My 2 thoughts are, did you use the correct grit sand? And, maybe you added too much sand?
