On bailing out the cruise industry: All their ships are registered in foreign countries so as to not pay taxes to the US. They should go to those countries for a bail out, not us.
Douglas Hughes Was hoping someone in the comments pointed this out and I’m glad someone did.
OMG he is so despicable
The vast majority of their employees are non-Americans. One of the reasons they register the ships offshore. Furthermore the ships are built offshore too. So they are non contributors to our economy.
Doesn't that just mean they are typical capitalists, tax evasion is standard practice. None of these corporations have been paying what they should, but they are the first to get aid.
HAHAHAHAHAHA man you Americans make me laugh, why do you guys have such a hard time understanding corruption???
Even though we are on quarantine, small glimpses into our normal life like "A Closer Look" are a godsend. Thank you Seth and Late Night crew!
Here! Here!
Well said, Mr. Ignatius.
@Xeno Phon
'Et tu, Xeno?'
😏
Absolutely sir😁
You thank them but not to retail and fast food workers that are still out there for you to stay inside to watch TV.
The acoustics in that hallway really make me appreciate the sound engineers that work on this show.
I was going to suggest he put up some towels in front of him. But I'll take this tin can effect any day.
just please tape anywhere but the hallway the echo is not fun lol....
Nah it's not so much that. He didn't even have microphone on the first episode. This seems to use the mic that is far away on a laptop or something.
@@AnoNymous-dh2sv I think he was experimenting. The hallway is prolly the worst sonic environment though. Nowadays he's got a pretty good sound - nice shotgun mic, non-square walls, and prolly some off-cam treatment.
Seth Meyers is rocking the at home segments. Really enjoy these every day and look forward to his sarcastic humor which is allowed to come through even more. LOVE THESE SETH. KEEP THEM COMING.
Yes! I LOVED the sarcasm in this one! Sharp!
Deb Emey Ooooh riiiiiiiiiight, like Seth eeeeeever uses "sarcasm". Sure. ✌😉
I never was a big fan of his live show, but I gotta say, I'll watch anything now in my fallout shelter, and he is so much better at talking to me (us) without the audience than prolly any of the other late night hosts. Does he seem more comfortable without an audience? I dunno, but I really like him this way.
I like this Seth! he seems more pissed off, and the sarcasm comes across extra scathing!
Gceelow He, like us, is going stir crazy from being inside all day.
Yeah he is brilliant. 💛
It’s because there’s no crowd to provide the laugh track and lighten the humour. I noticed it with the opening graphic. I never really heard the music clearly behind it because the crowd is always screaming so loud. Thanks Seth! We needed this. ❤️
That pissed off-edness is why I still miss John Stewart. It’s a better look on Seth than I had imagined.
You should rename this show “From the Hallway with Seth Meyers”. Good show, funny, insightful, a little echo never hurt anyone. Stay healthy Meyers family!
There are complainers on here. I'm prrrretttyyyy suuurrrre (my version of Seth Myers' voice) if the producers insisted on better sound, they could arrange it. And bring in an expensive back drop plus more technicians for the illusion it's a studio.
The sound and look reinforces this is a make do, casual, at home situation Seth is in, like the rest of us.
I think the actual content of this segment was funny, as much as it can be at this time, and presented without fanfare.
Charlie Ross ... In a way I preferred it. It seemed more intimate and funnier.
Get well with Seth Halliwell
No, I don’t understand why the videos in the basement of many UA-camrs, with limited equipment, look more professional than most of these videos of professional talk shows hosts from huge broadcast corporations, now that everybody is doing their quarantine versions of their shows. All of the Networks are doing this Lo Fi videos, and I think is more depressing for their audience to watch their programs as if they were in a barrack. I’m tired of it. I find the videos of UA-camrs more soothing for the time being.
Dah
I must say, I'm quite enjoying this format of "A Closer Look". I'm sure that it feels weird to Seth, doing it without a live audience, but it still works - for me at least. Keep it going, Seth!!!
Patrick Gaul I agree with ya man. Hope you’re doing well 😁
'Hallway small talk' should be a permanent feature on his show
Hi Seth sound engineer here, to stop that echo and reverb in your hallway hang some blankets or rugs around the area or even just on your table where the mic is or right behind the mic. Love your work though. Thanks for keeping things going we need people like you more than ever !

Thank you for saying the words "Our courageous healthcare workers." I'm not one. I'm a pencil pusher. But I know that every nurse or doctor who reports to work faces the probability that they are placing their own health in danger and I salute them. They are the true heroes here.
The nursing assistants, too ... and the janitors. They're all courageous.
I would add all the first responders, including the police and fire fighters. They will be protecting and keeping us safe, as they always do, putting their own lives at risk. Indeed hats off to all the key workers who will be risking their own lives in the coming weeks and months. In times of crisis we will see the true colours of our different leaders. I would suggest we will see the shallow nature of many popularist leaders, who rely more on simple slogans than real policies...
and those underpaid workers in supermarkets. now is the time to differentiate between bullshitjobs and vital jobs.
Canada just announced $2,000 a month for every Canadian, from April until October.
Sonja dont know if this is true? But heard trump said will give all Americans 1200$ but well send the checks in may in case the virus goes away before then! Cuz if it goes away then there's no reason to give anyone money! For awhile the Senate wasn't going to give any money to people too poor to pay taxes! This I know was true!
I'm not 100% sure till October but yes those who qualify will be getting that once a month for 3-4 months I think. Glad I'm Canadian
I heard it was only for those who lost their jobs...

Damn, is no one gonna appreciate how good and glowing Seth's skin looks naturally? 😍😂

Hey Seth, correction, some senators did act on the coronavirus warnings by selling their stock to make millions for themselves
Well they were paying attention to their intelligence briefings, Trump never has.

To Seth & the team at Late Night: Thank you so much for "Closer Look" from Seth's home. We need this over all the BS Trump keeps feeding the American people.
It's stuff like this that really shows how this virus is affecting everything.
China is "ending its pandemic" because they're already gone through most of the stages of it. We are barely getting started here. This is not a bipartisan issue.
@Dusty 99 imagine thinking a disease killing 20% of old people and impairing 20% of affected serious cases' lungs as not a big deal.
@Dusty 99 it is a political issue though lol, the pandemic itself isnt but the government is bogging down progress combating it WITH politics
You fool. It was trump who declared a national emergency. Now go ahead and try to blame “the libtards” for that
Only if you allow it...The real virus at the end is the fear...for fear debilitates your immune system...It is like a self imposed sentence...Fear only brings in more fear and that doesn't help a sick person...
These late night hosts doing segments from home really highlight how good some UA-camrs actually are when it comes to camera work and sound.
Its almost like these guys are propped up corporate creations, empty suits of establishment propaganda.
That’s their job so they invest in it. Seth is a late night host. I’m just so glad he’s hear to comment on the insanity that was that speech!

Hi-larious !
I love all these shows that are basically operating like podcasts. Still entertaining and it actually helps filtering out garbage jokes when there is no audience or laugh tracks.
And no wasted time commenting on the reaction to a joke
Podcasters know to go in the closet and surround yourself with blankets and pillows and winter coats and stuff in order to get better sound quality.
Seth Meyers is funnier without the laugh tracks.
At least podcasts have some wall acoustic insulation so that the mic doesn't pick ALL the echo from a hallway.

Somebody should send him a microphone too, so he doesn't have to sound like a UA-camr from ten years ago.
Anthony Flack haha, I think it’s the acoustics of the hallway more than anything. I wouldn’t be surprised if he tightens things up for the next one with a better mic or recording elsewhere in his house.
@@JaredSisley - yeah the acoustics are terrible, but if he gets a mic closer to his mouth (either on the desk or a lapel mic) it'll sound way better, even if he stays in the hallway. Anyway I'm sure there's loads of youtubers out there who can give him some tips.

You and your team rock. Love your work Seth Meyers, and hope you and yours stay safe and healthy during the lockdown.
I am so glad you're back, the hallway is perfect. Keep it up!
