You’re correct, it does indeed, have airplay. I have this model of Network CD player and when I play jazz on Spotify, it plays the very instant I select a track. Great CD player! I also enjoy the jazz stations on internet radio as I have it connected via an ethernet cable to my router.
Thanks for the review. What is the quality of the cd player playback on YAMAHA CD-N301 ? I am hesitant between Yamaha CD-N301 and Denon DNP-800 network audio player ... please help! Thank you for answer.
My cd player is Yamaha, yes it's 5cd changer, i decided buy that kinda, have to admit, best cd player ever, very handy and almost must have for anyone whos is hardworker listener, i don't know about those whos own a lot cds exactly but especially for all hardworker listeners it's necessarly buy, it's yummy, that is for sure!
The 301 has better dynamic range and signal to noise ratio than the 300. Since these specs are set by the DAC, they cannot have the same DAC. And the 301 is therefore likely to sound better. It's specs are almost identical to those of the 700 CD player.
I still have my Yamaha CDX-810 from 1988.
It cost £300 then, which was a massive amount for me then as I was just 16 !

The Yamaha should be a better player.

Superb
Would an external DAC like the SMSL - SU8 be better than the onboard DAC in the player?
On paper, the SMSL looks to be better, but I have no experence with the SMAL so can not apply any practical wisdom.
Hi. What’s the deference between the cd-n301 and the cd-n500
The 301 is newer, and an OK CD player. The CD-N500 is older, but sounds better playing CD's.
Nice review and unboxing! Between the yamaha cd S300 and the yamaha cd N301 which one has a better audio sound if you want to listen mostly to cd's?
Both are very simular. It seems both use the same 192k DAC. I would personally buy the CD-N301, as it has streaming etc on board.

Is this cd player bright sounding or nice relaxing subtle?
Yamaha can be forward sounding, so in the wrong set up it could come across as bright. If you are looking for a relaxed sound, try Arcam.
@@TLPCHC arcam is too expensive for me.I am thinking about a warm sounding cd player in the

First time i've seen a review of a cardboard box.....riveting, er not! I'm off to watch paint dry :-)
Thanks Slowleaner, we did open the box and check out what was inside.
You should get one of these boxes yourself, it contains a great CD player.
This video pissed me off!
Brilliant. May I ask how?
@@TLPCHC Low blood sugar, everything's cool now.
