My BGF (Best Guy Friend) named Tom sang this song in the middle of nowhere in my class, and while he was singing, it just went completely silent. Literally, every single human being in that classroom stayed quiet. Not only that, but he was staring at the wall the whole time because he was scared. Although he was quiet, everyone in the room, including the teacher, could hear it and started to clap after he was done. I personally think that this song is outstanding, and it truly is beautifully done.

Every time I hear this song it makes me cry I danced to this song for my year 6 farewell, on the best camp I've ever been on and on the last night I've been with old friends. This song makes me remember a feeling I will never forget, a feeling I will pay a fortune to experience, the camp that I was so excited for, that I couldn't sleep the night before. The song we had to listen to over and over again, the song that never got old still gets stuck in my head, the memory of my old friends, the magical night where we partied and shared magical moments together. But I know these moments can't happen again, but I can listen to this song when I'm sad or when I'm happy, it doesn't matter when I just want to sit down, relax or just want to experience a happy, sad and magical moment with myself. When I can't experience a happy time I recreate it so that I can cry and get those feelings out, and yes I did listen to Riptide while writing this, and yes I did cry.

Ah, I remember wanting to go to 6th grade camp so bad, have experiences like you did. But when I finally got to 6th grade it got canceled because of Covid-19, I was so sad. I remember seeing all the 6th graders come back to school after being gone for a week, and talking to my friends about it, i felt like i had lost a part of my last year being in primary school. Im now in middle school with no field trips except for some big ones in 8th grade. I jusg with I got to experience camp.

I used to listen to this during finals of my last university semester when depression decided to rise with a particular difficult grip. This song pulled me through rough days.
Now two years later, I come across this video by accident, my first time seeing Vance Joy. Putting a face to the voice that has kept me together just suddenly transported back to the past, and I'm flooded with tears fearful of the future but also grateful to have light souls and symphonies that make the unknown a little less fearful.
This is random and personal, but I guess I just wanted to say thank you and to let you know that what you do does have impact.

The main course of the song makes me wanna cry, I take the lyrics meaning a whole different way from what I think he meant. I miss this girl so much, we never had anything like that but I genuinely liked her and cared so much about her. today a year ago one of my sister's friends sadly take her life and my sister said this song was one of her favourite ever, everytime i hear it i just remmember her and my sister, she passed away more than a month later for a neumonía. I hope this is not too sad but I want to do some kind of honour to them by sharing and lighting their story and the love they had to life, to friendship and fun, cause that is what I remmember about them together and put light in mental health and how vital is for life ❤.
