I watched the first two episodes last night/this morning. I’m really looking forward to watching the third, I think I’m already enjoying this storyline more than season one somehow.
Already love this season more than the first and love love love Neagley and Reacher together. Enjoyed meeting the other investigators even though most seem to be dead but I guess that cuts down on the heartbreak of loving them before they’re killed off.
Ppl can say whatever they want.. but his size qnd build makes this belable! Thats what most of us love about this! He is afraid of conflict and clearly can handle it... doesn't want to be involved! The scene where he throws the guy out the window, it very much feels like a set with a green-screen behind it. I mean it was still lots of fun to watch, but there was a bit of uncanny valley to it.
I got a general feeling of "Amazon Second Season Syndrome" from the whole episode to be honest. It just lacks the grit and authenticity of Season 1 so far; I hope that gets better as the series develops...
My favorite book in the whole series made into a season. I already know I’m going to love it. I think this is the only book in the whole series where Reacher has a team behind him. Sure, in the other 27 books he gets assistance from folks along the way. But this is the only story where he gets a team, his team, trained by him, led by him, and who’ll follow his lead without hesitation that makes it such a great story. If they just follow the blueprint laid out by the novel and adapt it well, I’d say you are in for a treat.

Hi, the scene ypou were worried about getting spoiled in the trailer wasn't in any trailer. The only scene in all the trailers was the car jacking one we already saw in the first episode.

His physique was much more appropriate and intimidating in season one, looking very much like a hobo who keeps fit mostly by walking and performing a basic fitness routine when he has a place to do so. He also looked like he can handle himself. Now he looks like those extremely vain guys who spend far too much time at the gym, but Reacher isn't vain, nor is that kind of definition and bulk good for fighting. It also requires even more food intake to maintain but he's too frugal to impose that on himself. They made the same mistake in Terminator Jenny Smith, having Reese be super buff in a time when people are starving.

If by "follow the books" you mean the order of the books, then no, it doesn't. This season is book 11, first season was book 1. But while the books do have an order (mostly), you can read all of them on their own without missing anything, because all books are standing for themselves and (as far as I know) the most you get to other books are small references, so no need to know other stories.
Definitely read the books. So far I’ve only read 13 of them and I’ve enjoyed them immensely! I started with The Killing Floor after viewing Season 1 and have been reading the in random order.
The setting of the book is Los Angeles and Las Vegas, this adaptation has it in New York and New Jersey. Franz was dropped in the desert in the book, in the Catskills in this adaptation.

Omn, please could you lower your audio or increase the audio from the series? Just a little! It would be very much appreciated! At least for me, for whom English is not his mother tongue, it would help quite a lot!
One of the big weaknesses of the series was already in the first season that the writers didn't put much effort into the villians. The true ones are too easy to recognize. Extremely bad for a who done it series. I think the problem is maintained here as well. The clues are too clear. That's why I think Odonell is playing on the bad side. He calls Reacher a big guy, like the guy who pursues them. He was in the trashed room and I bet he trashed it. He has a cheap excuse for not having been available. He knew where the other team member lived, whose dog died of thirst. He also uses a little hidden blade, like all bad guys who have ever made it into a movie or series. It's all too clear. And this killer also uses a small hidden blade. This strain of blade has always been used exclusively by sneaky, dishonorable villians in movies. Stereotypes, in other words. If he isn't, it would be a nice surprise. Unfortunately, when it does, it's frustrating.
minor issues with this episode, bad guy in the bathroom just gets off plane, proceeds to burn passport IN THE AIRPORT BATHROOM, why? This is a secure location where lighting fires will get you spotted and reported. For a professional this was stupid, he just needed to wait till he was outside. What laptop does not have a USB port for a thumb drive. This was bad screen writing to postpone trying to see what was on the drive to a later time for the big REACHER password build up
The thin laptop used USB-C drive ports while the thumb drive is probably used on a regular USB drive port (USB-A ports) so they are not compatible so Neagly had to get a USB to USB-C dongle to connect it to her thin laptop. We bought our daughter a thin HP laptop that had only USB-C ports so most regular USB thumb drives would not work unless we had a conversion dongle to be able to connect it to the computer.
