We’re so excited Reacher is back!! Here’s the link to catch up on Season 1 reactions: ua-cam.com/play/PLo3Aa90FDIcjJ9gqaZamTAAElx4wuhAdh.html&si=-hkg43k7t2zHurPc
The motion picture Deepwater Horizon, is a great movie based on a true event. It only has one reaction to its credit, so consider reacting to it.
Robert Patrick not caring about who Sarah Connor is, was hilarious! 😂
100 percent. The writers had fun with that one. 🤣
Classic moment!! 😂😂
As a huge fan of Reacher... reading each and every book, this series NAILS IT! And Alan Ritchson is PERFECT as Reacher. It's like Sherlock Holmes in Hercules's body.
Did season 2 got woke or is it like season1? Realy enjoyed the first one but got burned by many series lately.
@@henriklarssen1331 Kinda but not really. Of course the woman can match him for intelligence and overall being a detective despite that's what Reacher is being known for. But so far first 3 eps have been fine.
@@nukiesduke6868 Sounds good, i give it a go.
Agreed!!! Love it lol
That's one real difference between the books and the series; the speed and accuracy in which things happens.
In the books, he's more like House. He's smart, yes. But many times, he believes one thing, starts tracking that down, finds out he's been wrong due to new evidence, and then gets it right. Season 1 actually got this right because they get the way the plot worked wrong at first.
The series has to consolidate it for time, naturally, so he's not just Sherlock Holmes; he's Holmes on steroids. The whole Franz usb data is one of those. In the book, there were 4 drives and they kept guessing wrong, locking out the drives, so it got dragged over the course of like a day of them talking out what the passwords could be. In the series, it's a 20 second scene where they just BAM hit the right password.
Ritchson was born for this role..
Great start, the Sarah Connor comment with Robert Patrick from Terminator 2 was classic 🤣
Also, there’s 28 Jack Reacher books and I’m reading number 28 at the moment
And I missed that! So great easter egg catch on that one!
I've read most twice
Speaking of Sarah Conner the series Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles should definitely go on your list for reactions
@@scotthill1600 ~500-600 Pages on average.
Bad Luck and Trouble is my favorite book among the series. O'Donnel is my favorite character because he's way smaller than Reacher yet he always mocks him like a little brother. Too bad his character only used once.
love how concerned yall are that more than one person called reacher "the big one" ...pretty sure that's what everyone who's ever seen him would call him
Yeah, I suspect that line is a red herring. I mean, he IS huge.
So happy that the show is finally back on our watch list.
You mentioned that Reacher looked bigger. Well, its because he is. Alan Ritchson was about 210-215 in the first season I think. Read recently that he gained even more muscle for season 2. He's around 235-240 lbs for this season.
Alan has great dedication to looking the part for this role.
I like that he admits he isn't natural either
@allenarmstrong7080 I mean look at the shoulders. 1st sign of steroid (ab)use, like on Hardy for TDKR.
@@HABO2210 or maybe pads?? it's not uncommon for actors to use padding to look buff. Hardy naturally is pretty buff too.
Well, if you’re gonna drive a tank, up-armor it whenever possible. His boots might as well have tracks on them.
So, if he’s a tank, which one. My default would be an Abrams, but I might be convinced with that one massive US test vehicle in WW2. Thing was like 91 tons.
@@spiralbones
I thought Alan has been consistent in being insistent that he's 110% natural. Or are you joking?
I saw this episode last night. I think this might be the first time that I'm watching a show at the same time as you guys, which makes it extra fun
Season 3 is already greenlit and supposedly it's gonna be based on Alan Ritchsons' favorite book of the series.
Reacher being confronted with the fact that lives move on even when he's not there and the impact he has on peoples lives was an important motiff for this season, it was nice to see him being quite sensitive about it.
The actor that plays A.M. is the son of Sir Ben Kingsley
Now that you said it I can totally see the resemblance!
Wow, one day day after the pemiere you got the reaction up!
What a start to the new season... cannot wait to watch along with you guys.
This is based on "Bad Luck And Trouble".
You're gonna love this one!
Bad Luck and Trouble was my favorite Reacher novel. No doubt in my mind they are going to make season 2 as good or better than first season. You both are going to enjoy it!
My favorite book among the series! O'Donnel is my favorite character because he's way smaller than Reacher yet he always mocks him like a little brother. Too bad his character only used once.
So, obviously when doing a book adaptation there will be a lot of stuff cut out for time constraints. They are also adding things because they need action every episode. But, overall, they are keeping to the plot of the book (I binged all three episodes that dropped). There are a lot of things that they are just rushing through though as the book was WAY more into the investigation; who, why, etc. They are also trying to portray things that we get through thoughts in the book.
A good example of this is the ATM scene. In the book, Reacher just needs money and goes to the ATM. He sees his balance is off, there is more than there should be, so calls the bank. The amount deposited was 1030.00 which Reacher saw as code for emergency. He has to go through this whole thing with the rep to find out who put money into his account and finds out it was Neagly. In the show, we get the carjacking so they get that fight scene, Reacher sees the bank balance change and immediately knows it's Neagly.
And yes, Ritchson DID get even bigger for this season, jacking himself up even more.
Oh this is so interesting! Please keep these comments coming throughout the season, I’d love to read how it compares to the book!
@@samantha_schmitt
Just from what I saw in the first three episodes, they condensed a LOT and made changes here and there because of it, but, won't spoil the future, just discuss the episode reacted to in the comments.
So, one example, is Franzie. They go to his PI office, find it trashed. It actually takes a few days, if I remember the book right, for them to think of the post office thing where Franzie was mailing himself usb drives. The entire scene with the usb drive and the password was, in the book, spread over 4 separate drives and like a full day as they kept locking out a drive and stopping because they didn't want to lock out the others. There also was no timer, just number of tries (three) per drive. So there was data they had lost when they finally cracked the last usb drive.
As for the diner, Reacher and Neagly decided on that diner due to location to meet, so no "where is he/she" on that one. Just that due to location and proximity to hotels, airport, etc, it was an easy place to meet. And Reacher likes diners.
Watching you two sit and try to puzzle out the mystery is fun, though. Season 1 was a good primer on how Child's writes his plots, and twists, sooooo... that's all I'll say.
If you guys want to see the actors that play Findlay and Rosco together again, they are both in the New Mike Flanagan series "The Fall of the House of Usher". It's great!
I didn’t recognize them, who did they play?
@@vincentjoyce5100 young Maddie and young Auggie.
They are already in filming for season 3
Im enjoying season 2 even more than season 1 so far & I really enjoyed season 1
Same here. I was hooked almost instantly.
Always great to see robert Patrick from terminator 2 and sopranos
Neagly's name may be Italian. I believe that the g is silent when followed by an l, in certain circumstances, ie. Caniglia.
Awesome reaction you both
The fun thing about watching a show less than a month after reading the book it is based on is that you can judge the casting!
Neagley is interesting because she is described as medium height, dark-eyed, dark haired, tan skin, which gives you a HUGE range of actress types to choose from, anywhere from tan white woman, to Mediteranean or Asian, all the way to light-skin black woman. Maria Sten fits well into that range as a light skin black woman, the only box she doesn't check is "medium height", as she is almost 6 feet tall. She has the Neagley vibe from the books, so I give them an A on this one
David O'Donnell really should have been taller. He is repeatedly described as long and lanky in the book, tall but not as tall as Reacher. He really should have been about 6'2, not 5'10. He's got the vibe, but I have to knock off a letter grade for being shorter than Neagley. Give them a B on that one.
This season is gonna rock
"I thought it moved...". I would love to see Reacher fight off zombies.
I first found your channel from your Reacher S1 reactions. Loved you guys and subbed up. Keep up your great work.
When you get about 14 mins into the episode, it's moved so quick you already feel like you're two episodes deep, you're invested and excited so fast. Love it.
NICE!!
Perfect way to start my Friday!
I think the 2nd season is the thirteenth book Bad Luck and Trouble. The 2nd book Die Trying Reacher is stuck in a trunk with an FBI agent for nearly half the book, I think it would be hard to stretch that out in tv
great start, great show!
Can't wait for their version of One Shot.
It was already referenced in episode 2 when Reacher was asked about James Barr and he said that he ran into him in Indiana a year ago and that he owed him a favor. This means that the events of One Shot have already happened. So the question is if the creators will cover it. When we have a movie with Tom Cruise which was good.
@@markhatts572 Yeah, I loved they mentioned it but I still want a season, the Tom Cruise version is one of my favorite movies, can't wait for Alan's take.
The scene where Reacher finds Neagley in the first season was taken from this book, so they couldn’t use it here.
They announced last week that they are filming season 3 already. He said he put on 25-30 more pounds.
It's spelled Neagley but pronounced Neeley. The Irish language is messed up like that. They have that in common with the French.
Welcome back guys!
I'm suspicious of Mister motor mouth also. I thought I heard a clue about some knowledge earlier in the episode that pointed to the guy there in the their room that was ransacked. I think Reacher probably filed that away in his mind. We'll see I guess.
Great opening episode.
Y'all be safe and have a wonderful Christmas, or holiday of your choosing.
I'm going to have to go back and watch your reactions to season 1. I remember catching the promo for season 2 that showed him stopping the carjacking and thinking "wow badass." But I don't have the bandwidth to take on another show. I'll just have to experience it vicariously through you guys.😅 Hope you enjoy it! 👍
I would like to see reactions to Star Trek on this channel.
YES! Was hoping for this :)
So quick story….i had watch only the first season of the show when i saw yall channel react to it…then i found out yall reacted to the second season as well so I decided to watch just so i can come here again and here i am
I didn't know the G was silent in Neagley until the show came out. I was reading it wrong for years.
I loved season 1, one of the best shows ever and couldn't wait for season 2, so happy it's here now.
Whenever I am about to go out I would always fill up my dogs' bowls first, but the take away from this episode is teach your dog to flush.
Don't usually comment but always happy to see a BMS fan lol
He did get bigger. I saw reports that he put on 35 pounds of muscle for season two. Lol
Movie recommendation for you to react: THE WOLFMAN (director's cut version, 2010), a good werewolf film, with intense and good practical effects, you'll like it
Your reactions to the first season of Reacher (which I never watched) inspired me to watch the second season. I've now watched the first 5 eps so I feel ready to watch your reactions too. :)
He did bulk up even more for season 2
REACHER season 2! Always satisfying beating down and up the bad guys!
Seems that guy playing Reacher aged 10 years since last season. Also got twice as huge.
He definitely bulked up but I wouldn't say he aged 10 years at all (he has stubble which he didn't have in S1).
The first episode really got me binged reacher right away.
Please react to Gen V. Its a Spin-off to the Boys.
THANK YOU!!!! I totally missed him being the Terminator when I watched it. That's great!
The one who supposedly died in a car accident is the one I am concerned about. Always be in doubt when you do not see a body.
It seems clear that Neagly saw the body.
I believe they are already filming season 3
24:55 It wasn't O'Donnell that called Reacher 'The Big Guy'. Franzy's wife was saying that Franzy always called Reacher 'The Big Guy'.
Great start to S2! You get flashbacks to the other 8 members of the Special Investigators Unit, and we meet O'Donnell too (plus two different guys following, and the bad dude with the initials A. M.)...alot of info so far!
So glad you guys are watching this season too. I heard season 3 is already confirmed. He plays the role so well.
I forgot robert patrick was the terminator. That sarah connor bit is much funnier knowing that lol
Now I'm interested. I thought you two were Canadian. What's up about Sioux Falls? My sister and brother in law live there so I know that place very well.
We’re in SoCal! Sioux Falls is a reference to the show Fargo that we were watching
@TBRSchmitt like I said, I have family that lives there. I also happened to go to college in Fargo. GO NDSU BISON!
Just like a “Neighbor”, the G is silent in Neagley😎
I love this series. Glad to see you guys reacting to season 2:)
I like hearing your theorising as to who is reliable and who isn't. Now, as I have read the book, I know how accurate your ideas are FOR THE BOOK. However, the great thing about season 1 was that it was just different enough to the book to be an interesting mystery even for a fan. If that's true here, then this should be really good fun. Reacher and Neagley have an interesting dynamic in the books, and she is exceptionally capable. Reacher might be bigger, but even he doesn't fancy his chances against Neagley in a fight, and she is no dummy.
Thanks for the free episode much appreciated
Great start to what is probably going to be a fantastic season. Loved the Sarah Connor/Terminator joke
Yes, he's actually bigger this season. Apparently he put on about 30lbs of muscle.
And the kid says his dad called him "the Big Guy" whereas the guy following them says "she met with the big one" (I would guess because he didn't know Reacher's name but knew he was part of the group?)
As for the Teacher movies (there's 2): they were pretty good as stand alone movies The stories were good, the acting was really good and Tom Cruise pulls off Reacher's attitude pretty well. BUT the est teacher is described is Alan Ritson not Tom Cruise. It'd be like casting a Jack Russell terrier as Cujo...
I really miss Rosco !
Reacher season 2 is based on book number 11, 'Bad Luck and Trouble'.
love your reactions!
I've just worked out who Reacher is, there was a show in my childhood back in the 60's called The Littlest Hobo, a German Shepard dog that moved from town to town helping people, that's Reacher! 🤣
Maybe tomorrow I’ll finally settle down…
You NAILED IT. Your reaction to season one is the same as mine. It had all the elements...... great casting, great acting and a great script. You need all three of those in my opinion. I had seen the two Reacher movies with Tom Cruise. I like him... but I think he was miscast for this project. Alan Ritchson is perfect in this role. In a lot of series you have either the Brawn or the Brain.... but in this case we have BOTH.
There is like 23 books and a couple short story comps. Plenty of material to mine here
I still wish the password had been Pirates , I think it was a great chance to miss an ironic joke.
There are between 25 and 30 Reacher books by Lee Child.🙂🙂🙂
If you want a real giggle, read up about Lee Child, who wrote the Reacher books. He's literally bigger than Alan Ritchson. :)
his teammates are loyal
Great reaction! Also it has just been renewed for a 3rd Season!
He would be great for a Conan series!
15:50 - Old Cold War kid checking in..any character burning a passport probably has four or five more stashed away somewhere.
The pronunciation of Neagley's name is like her quiet former boss -- the 'G' is silent. 😎
I'll see myself out now....
Alan Ritchson is smuggling a turtle shell this season.
Anyone else get the feeling the actor who's playing reacher is deliberately walking with tiny baby steps because if he used full strides everyone else would have to jog to keep up...like toddlers running to keep up with a parent.
If you want to get into the Reacher books or audiobooks, then you can pretty much jump in anywhere. However, Echo Burning is the book the first season is based on (and the first book), One Shot and Persuader are two excellent books from early on that give you a good idea of the character. Bad Luck And Trouble is the book this season is based on (roughly mid-way through the run of books).
Season 1 was based on the book, The Killing Floor.
@@mgass1354 Yes, Echo Burning was later, my mistake.
@@theaikidoka
No biggie. Easy to get which book was which confused. There's how many now? Just wanted to post the correction.
Have you guys ever seen 1941? It's among the funniest movies I've ever seen! I bet you'd both enjoy watching it, and I'd love to see your reaction!
You should check out the movie version with Tom Cruise despite him not having the same physical stature... It's a very good movie.
I believe this is book eleven.
I'm not sure.
You're going to be introduced to the Special Investigators.
Wanna talk about size? Ritchson is 6'3, I'm 6'5. Its a nightmare finding clothes. People think I'm lazy, and don't care, coz a lot of my clothes are so worn, but it's just because once you find something that fits, you wear the hell out of it.
He's got it harder, though. He's like double my muscle and body mass. Its insane.
I don't know if this will turn out right, but the nickname given to Reacher was The Big Guy, the man following them called him the big one. NOT the exact same as the nickname and you know what they say, in investigations, details matter.
Season 2? Didn't know they did a second season.
Came out today!
@@samantha_schmitt Oh cool. Wasn't sure if I wasn't completely out of touch with new releases.
I think you might be "reaching"( sorry, had to pun it here) with the "Big Guy" thing. I think the whole team called him that. In fact I think everyone does. Even in the first season. He is in fact a huge guy, so makes sense anyone encountering him would call him the same thing.
♥
To the book fans... does Childs address Reacher's aging? Can you guess a span of time (in years) that the books cover? I think there are 29 books plus "RULES - a guidebook". Whatever the number - it's far more than TV mini-series/seasons will cover. Do you have favorites, and could you trim that down to say, 5 books? 8? I'm thinking this is taking about 2 production years from Start Of Season to Broadcast Finale. I'm not sure Ritchson (age 41?) can handle Age 51 Reacher... or 55...
Season two is based on Bad Luck and Trouble book 11.
The "g" in Neagley is silent.
That guy in the post office, with the beard, reminds me of Burt, from The Big Bang Theory. Was it him? 🤔
Ritchson said he beefed up for season 2. He's definitely bigger.
Reacher rules
14th like and I'm back with nothing interesting to add
James Bond + Dutch (Predator) = Reacher
16:23 _I've never shoulder-checked a geriatric before but you're seriously pushing it right now, lady._
Maybe some fans will know is the Tom Cruise Reacher movie referencein the original story or added for a continuity claim.
You guys should watch the grey starring Liam Nelson, Masterpiece movie.
Season 2 reminds me of the movie Commando.
