Fabi has no ego, that was so cool
Fabi has a healthy ego where he doesn’t act narcissistically but still moves with the poise and confidence justified by his skill level. I don’t think he has no ego, but rather just the right amount as an elder statesman of the game.
@@aonutsihasnouith Vicar has no idea what ego means. His ego is at the highest level and perfectly normal.
Explain@@ASDasdSDsadASD-nc7lf
He opened w/a "beef" joke.
I’d really like to see Fabi be #1 for at least a moment, he deserves it, the more I watch him the more I really like him.
This was Anna’s plan all along.
1) Create and promote a meme opening
2) Induce GMs to play it against her.
3) Super GM scalp
🎉🎉🎉
4D Chess
and to talk a lot. very distracting.
Anna is a super GM in banter. In that field, she can destroy anyone.
This win more about seducing Fabi than make him to use that openning. But still Fabi only let her win if she plays good so... Deserved win. Still hope we can see them together soon, hopes seducing was not only for one stupid win to promote channel, then it was my last video what I watched, I know Anna a humble nice girl, it would rly surprise me.
@@AkosHorvath-yr3hr You’re a complete weirdo. Get help.
What a gentleman, even saying he was fine in the beginning giving Anna all the credit. With all the hate and drama going around with top players, this was a nice video to watch.
Caruana is a humble and classy man
No? He's doing it to get the ladies
@@ChessMaster-kg3si 🤣 perhaps
Fabi: "The cow is, it's just worse than giving your rook away..."
And then he did both😂
He was probably trolling anna 😂😂
I’m pretty sure Fabi blundered on purpose, to keep my interest up in chess. Ma cha for more inf (crypt cuz sahwdonbas)
@@SaschaEderer No reason to think that really.
Fabi: "its just a game for me"
Anna: " sleep stealer for a long time🥹 "
That's not what they said.
I’m pretty sure Fabi blundered on purpose, to keep my interest up in chess. Ma cha for more inf (crypt cuz sahwdonbas)
That’s cool of mr Caruana, maybe he agrees with Paul Morphy, being good at chess is a sign of a wasted life.😉
@@SaschaEderer No reason to think that really.
"Where's the win Fabi"...as a low ELO player trying to convert winning positions, I feel that in my soul.
Fabi is now my favourite chess figure by far. Lovely man, no ego, humble. Be like Fabi!
Anna:"Do you think it was a draw at some point?"
Caruana:"It was a threefold😅"
No 3 fold occurred at any moment.
@@mhqa_ There was a three fold opportunity there, which the best player in the world saw but chose not to play
12:51@@mhqa_
Watch starting at 12:57
@@roadwheels1 There was only a two-time repetition. The same position was never repeated three times. When Anna said "and now I can´t go back" she was aware of the repetition and avoided getting it a third time.
Fabi clearly saw the Mate in 44 in that final posistion, thats why he resigned :)
I think he saw the win way before he resigned.
Lol at 15:04 "it was a three-fold". So he got the draw but let her play on. Good guy Fabi.
Yeah, 12:51 - 13:02 for those that missed it. It was a draw by repetition.
EDIT: this does not seem to be a three-fold. The position was only repeated 2 times.
This is not some high level tournament rules don't apply here.
@@ivaerz4977 IMO the rules apply, but...three fold does depend on some player claiming it.
You have to call it though so this would be official if rules applied
I’m pretty sure Fabi blundered on purpose, to keep my interest up in chess. Ma cha for more inf (crypt cuz sahwdonbas)
I never understand why grandmasters insult you, try to trick you, or play mind games, so I'm glad there are at least some decent high-ranking players out there. I really enjoyed the vibes in this video.
The thing is, if all GM's behaved like Caruana, chess probably wouldn't have got that much attention. Chess in this time and age is entertainment too, hence the success of people like the Botez sisters, for example. Guys like Fabio just don't sell.
In tournaments that behvior is illegal.
@@tolkienfan1972 I believe people should be nice without having to be forced to follow rules.
@@dieminervaeule people dont get personality traits after they become chess GMs. It's more than likely that those GMs youre speaking about had those personality beforehand.
It's not about "who sells", Magnus didn't become a 5-time WC because he sells, he became a WC because he's great.
Neither Hikaru waited for the moment to become one of the best chess players in the world to become adversarial and kind of a dick sometimes.
I understand your logic, but it simply doesn't apply IRL
@@exapsy You didn't understand me fully, I guess. Yes, I know that their personalities didn't come with their titles. I'm just saying that chess wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is today if the top players were all like Caruana, and that the players who contributed the most to chess becoming popular (Gotham for example) did so because they are able to sell the game due to being entertaining, and not solely because of their chess skills.
Fabi might be the sweetest person in the world
ACTUALLY....COWS DO HAVE HORNS! Farmers cut them off so their heads fit through feeding gates.
Thanks. I didn't know that
Came here to say that, please upvote, this truth has been hidden from the masses for too long.
So true! And kinda sad... apparently they cut the horns off so frequently that humankind doesn't even remember they grow horns.
They cut them off because you should not have so many animals in one space, they get stressed and hurt each other. One way is to give them more space, the other way is to cut off the horns.
I think it depends on breed, but I am not an expert on bovines.
Fabi calmly: "Losing my rook, that was maybe not the right idea." 😂
Fabi is my favourite. The way he glides the pieces across the board it’s so fluid - almost like a flow state. Makes it look absolutely effortless.
fluent not fluid
@@zurdau1822 Nope. I meant fluid as in able to flow easily: smoothly, elegantly or effortlessly but fluent would obviously also apply.
You're glazing him like he's a donut...
@@dero2430 Nope. That would be unholey.
The person who invented cow opening won't play that opening; rather she asks her opponents to play that opening so that she can win.. Wow wonderful strategy. It's like the Trojan horse in Troy war.
Trojan cow. Here, fixed this for you.
Winning is winning regardless of method.
A good point sir :)
Trojan cow
No she has invented an opening and wants others to try it
Congratulations...that was a hard fought win. And Fabi was as gracious as ever. Kudos to him too.
i think it wasa 3 fold draw after all
a "win"... 😉
Congratulations Anna! And Fabi, you're such a good sport. A very wholesome video. Thank you, both.
I didn't really know much about Fabiano before and now that Anna has "introduced" him on her channel, I can see what a great guy he is. Thoroughly, enjoyed the coffee chess game.
Civilisation is playing chess, chatting nicely and having good manners. I felt so happy watching these two winners be civilised.
Fabi is an adorable human being!
I so love how chill and nice Fabiano is! When Hans Niemann recently lost to Levy Rozman he was devastated. I understand these guys don't lose often. But it's nice to see some humility and grace among the giants of the game.
Big congrats on the win, you really deserve it Anna!
lol, yeah, but it would suck to be turned into clickbait, lol. But yeah, Hans handled it in the worst way possible, NGL.
@@AnthonySouls I mean, it's for content. I assumed he was just playing it up for stream.
Fabi had a 3-fold but he didn't want to make Anna sad lol.
@@Z6D4C4 He definitely was but he comes off as immature no matter what the intent. I prefer the way Fabi acts, he’s so zen.
I hope Fabi wins the championship 2026. The man is such a class act.
You can see how much that meant for Anna and Fabi knew it. Such a great guy
After the video with Hikaru, my respect for Fabi increased by miles...
1:47 The fact that you changed grief to beef has me rolling. 😂
Yeah the subtitles are pretty bad, but its probably done by AI or some poor minimum wage editor
Fabi played that endgame so beautifully!!! I didn't know two rooks vs one could be so difficult to play! It didn't seem at all that Anna had a whole rook of advantage! That was the most grandmaster moment of the game for me!
Did he just call it the "bull" opening?
He said ’bull’ but it sounded as if he meant ‘dull’…
Fabi wins opening naming game for sure. The Cow is the Bull (half a word) opening, and his opening was to be the Goat. Such a quick and subtle wit.
Caruana makes chess look easy, it’s so nice to see him play. It looks effortless to him.
He also seems like a real humble and genuine person, what a gentleman.
Fabi was showing Anna would would happen if the best players in the world played the 'Cow Opening'
Congratulations!!! what a game. This meeting with Fabi is awesome, you should upload all games :D
"Oh no! My pawn!"
I expected a tricky trap. :D
Her joy at the end was so lovely. Fabi is a great guy.
Well done!
"Cows don't have horns." Lol. What a nice guy.
Congratulations Anna what an accomplishment
I live in St. Louis and got to meet Fabiano a couple weeks ago. Such a nice guy.
Nice job Anna!
congrats Anna! that end game was fun to watch
Congratulations, Anna, you deserved this victory!
I love everything about this video but my favourite moment is definitely “where’s the win!?😭😭” I realated to her frustration and Fabi was so nice to let her play on even though it was a draw
huge congratulation to you for winning the game and to your rival
I didn't know that Fabi's playing style is aggressive. Now that I know, I think you both have similar styles (tactile and do some deep think calculating lines). He has such a calming demeanor. Good game Anna, congrats! I did have to chuckle seeing you stressing trying really hard and him just smiling at 12:51
Humble Young Master With An Old Soul
Good to see that even Super-GMs blunder rooks sometimes :)
Congrats to you, Anna, for spotting it and converting the win!
Threefolds passed up by Fabi:
12:30 Ra8+ Kd7 Ra5
13:04 Rb8+ Kh7 Rb5
13:09 Ra8+ Kh7 Ra5
Watching Anna play against Fabi was so relaxing after watching her play with that Nakamura guy....
Great game Anna! The only sad part is we don't get to see the discussion after the game.
good win anna nice work!
"Good luck". Good one, lol.
Congrats Anna!
Even though I don't know enough to even understand openings, and whether they are good or bad.
I love that she has manipulated players to either comment on it or try it, as a meme.
This is amazing! I'm so happy for you!
That was exciting to watch,go you!
Nice win. That was tough with the rooks haha. Well played to both of you
Whew . . . that was tense. Anna improving exponentially. Well done.
pushing the pawns on the queenside worked well - congrats!
Gotta love Fabi, and so happy for you!
Fabi was about to say: "it was a draw"...so, he threw the rook in there, to make things interesting, and let Anna play-on...of course Fabi likes Anna...don't we all? - doing the Cow opening just to make Anna a little more receptive...come on. someone likes Anna.
Congratulations on the win.
Again, he's such a genuinely good dude, and playing the cow is epic
I think Fabiano was hoping for a KF8 move for a while with his Rook, lol at 12:40. That might have been his only chance for a mate. Hoping that Anna didn't see it,:)
It would be interesting to see more people playing the cow so you can get stats on its win rate. I wonder if the cow really does give you a bad middle game or not. Good job on the win. It does seem like Anna's and Fabiano's energy meshes well together, like their vibes get along.
Tyler 1 got to 1900 w the cow
So cool that Fabi did this.
Great job Anna!
Great sportsman! Gg Anna!
amazing long term strategy by anna: invent an opening so famous but also bad your opponents have no choice but to play it against you and lose!
If Hollywood ever makes a Ghostbusters reboot, please hire this guy for the role of Egon Spengler 😂
THE BULL OPENING! perfection.
Anna at 12:21: "I actually have like no time. Okay, what's is going on?" Fabiano: BIG smiles, is thinking "Yes, exactly. It'b been my plan to run out your clock with slippery repetitive moves." That was his plan like 10 minutes back when Anna said: "I only have like 7 seconds" Congrats Anna!
i love just this guy
I need to see his refuting of the cow!
Good Stuff, Anna
Solid finish. GG Anna.
way to go anna, wow. and keep up your kind smile too. your love of chess comes through loud and clear! I bet if I ever played chess with you you would beat me in just a few moves haha!
Cows naturally have horns, not just the bulls. The horns are usually cut off by farmers, because it's easier/cheaper to keep them that way.
He did not only refute the opening itself, but also the logic behind naming it the cow opening😂😂
That endgame was FANTASTIC! Thank you Anna! Thank you Fabi!
Anna molaria que dejaras el final, cuando hablais de la possibles jugadas que podríais haber hecho.
Muy buena partida ganando a un GM!!
Anna: I'm gonna frame this moment for the rest of my life.
Fabi: I know, I know
the Knight piece is called a Paard (Horse) in Dutch.
This guy is really great 👍😊
Congratulation Anna. Can you do a review of this game?
Anna is completely committed to improving and plays the best to do so. That, and The Cow of course.
The joy when you won is just so contaigous. Lovely :)
Such a humble gentle man. No ego with nothing to gain in a match like this. 2 of the loveliest people in chess ❤😊
Great Anna, just great!
He’s such a smart man. He was a winner in this situation.
Buen jugador Fabi!!
Stort grattis, Anna!
Congrats Anna! You tend to talk yourself down a bit but you really are a great player. Fabi was total class how he handled that loss. Great video.
Amazing, so proud of you Anna
So to sum up you've created an opening so absolutely terrible that even Fabio cannot win with it?
gg, well played Anna
nice backhanded compliment. 👎
😂😂😂😂
Congratulations Anna, that was a great achievement.
Anna did a good job!!
Carauna has a steady sense of humor, mature, humble
I hadn't played chess for years, because when I would go to this library years ago, there was a guy there that would play speed chess, and he would just beat me relentlessly, to the point I didn't want to play, he was a nice person, but he thought that was how someone would learn, but I never learned a fucking thing.
But I got "simply chess" on steam, for free. And just played a game, expecting to lose, against the computer.
But I actually won. And I did, at least the first 4 moves of the cow opening that I could remember.
I really have no idea what I was doing with the opening. But now I will try to understand openings more.
I was just shocked I won. I was still so traumatized from being blasted every time I played that guy, I almost ended the game part way through. But then I realized I might have a chance of winning, I found I could see moves. But the game wasn't a timed game.
Converting a winning position is the hardest part of the game
Gratulerar!🏆🏅
That Fabi guy is so calm and collected.. I like his attitude
Fabi seems like such a good dude. Hope he grabs a big win one of these days
I need to learn from this man
