Man, you've been really on a tear lately. So many hours on YT of excellent chess content in "How a Master Thinks" and "Ratings Climb". Many thanks to the hardest workin' man in YT chess. 👊
I have to say that it’s an absolute pleasure to watch you play chess as you explain your thought process. You have such a great way of explaining moves clearly at moderate pace , unlike some other chess channels that rush through too quickly for dullards like me!
funnily enough he has another account, Timojung2, same guy 100% both Germany and his profile pic is master sword and im pretty sure thats link on his banned one, made may this year but only started playing a lot of games on it yesterday and today it was just occasional before this one was banned lol 🤣
Really good to see you play vs Dan the Man! Always wonderful! Looking forward to more games with him and this game with him and the tactic was just mind blowing!
His last 4 Rapid games are also all versus Nelson as well. Sure the guy might be a very good player but Stream sniping to get insight into what Nelson is thinking about moving or trying tactically is plain cheating.
At 2:17:23 could you have taken with queen instead of bishop? If he takes you there is backrank mate and at the same time you threaten to take his queen so you get a tempo?
Absolutely demoralizing when the GOAT loses, it makes me realize I’ll be lucky to crack 700. Although, I do work hard at defending my 116 Elo! You’re the best Nelson, I have no doubt you’ll reach a 2800 rating in the next few years. Thank you for the content
2:04:30 that bishop sacrifice! I’m an 1100 player and I was thinking in the game if I was black I would sack a piece for two pawns. Of course I didn’t see that move but I had the idea! So it made sense to me that he found that brilliant move!!
2:00:43, that bishop move is pretty solid but on that level that is bit suspicious. As i remember when I was a kid and i played this line with grandpa who did that for me and my grandpa was GM. but yes sacrifice the bishop for open your structure is correct way to attack because you was down one minor piece and your pawns was over extended and H pawn ... attacking to horse... so good but bit too early ...
3:00:30 its weired because they dont cheating... so they play more human moves and gets to focused on taking that pawn... misses the fork. Tunnel vision.
Mostly writing this to feed the robo overlords and so i remember - The knight changes colour square every time they move, So if two of your pieces and an enemy Knight are all on the same colour squares you might be about to get totally forked
I know you played against a cheater, but I think the Halloween gambit does not give enough compensation for the piece. Maybe against low elo players works but pretty sure with skilled players is not good
(@54:28) if you look carefully at the top left, it says (in part), “just a guy hiding in a box pretending to be an automaton.” Creepy. 😵💫 But I wonder who it’s referring to? Is it hinting that it thinks someone is using Stockfish? If so, that’s another point for rice. 😆🤣😝
Nelson you missed a win in the last game. Instead of bishop on e1 taking the pawn on f2, you needed to move your queen to d2. If the white rook takes your bishop you take it with back rank check mate. if he does any other move you take f2 pawn with your queen and it is forced check mate. you nearly held on for a win there. Glad you sent the cheater on his way even though you had to play two losing games .....maybe you will remember the moves for a future game.
Hi, there was a way to win the second game with Timojung1. as i understand it, during the game there is one moment which is the crucial moment and in this particular game it was move 21. Rook on b1 move. This is a strategic move that allows you to move the game from defense to attack, and ultimately win the game.
@@alexandraison6429 Usually people troll because they’re bored, or to have fun. I don’t do it often but the few times I cheated I just found it fun to troll. Just did it like twice.

It's ok to lose. Some days that happens a lot. Doesn't always mean rice cooker. Lose graciously. Better than looking like a spoiled brat. Just my opinion
Once you get it into your head that your opponent is cheating, you get tilted, you stop analyzing, you play terrible moves and you lose, further cementing your belief that the guy is cheating. But at 2:34:20, if you play f6, then after he takes with the bishop, you move your queen back to d7 and the position is dead even.
Considering it was his second game with this person I think it was kind human to be tilted at least... Expecially considering he was actually right on his accusation (account banned 1 game after that one).
Nelson, rice cookers might chat, but so do I, who am not a cooker. When my opponent plays a great move, in my opinion, I like to let them know in real time.
I have watched a lot of your "Dan the Man" games, and I feel like he was cooking rice in several of them, as only Hikaru, Magnus, and Firouja can pound out that many great moves that quickly!
He has his own youtube channel and played a bunch of bots in 30 min...I think he is genuinely good, fast, and has his own style which is effective, generally, vs. Nelson's style.
Bishop A3 was great move. He knew he can give you one piece back easly and win if open your pawn structure, Its not unnatural... its as unnatural as playing Halloween gambit. You are just playing to much gambits on 2200+ lvl dont realy work unless people are not concentrated.
I've noticed that as soon as you have suspicions against one opponent it affects your play on the subsequent games. Not sure how you can address this though, just thought I'd share my observation.
