This journey was almost a “you had to be there” in the most insane way. Getting hooked while this was playing out was one of the most unmatched feelings whenever they dropped a new video. It was such a fun time and seeing the recap like this just makes me realize how incredible SP7 really was.
Fr I was watching his try not to laugh challenges so when it changed I was like :0 and continued to have my jaw dropped through the series because how good it is!
It shaped a lot of the other youtubers we watch too. Steve's editing style shows heavy heavy inspiration in a lot of people's videos especially in vlog style videos.!
@@vvvvvv66666 The only problem with doing that is you have to do a Creatures deep dive to get full context. I would enjoy that but it's a lot of stuff and different eras to go through in a video of this type.
I watched Steven since his BAM lounge days, idk if anyone knows what that is not in a quirky way just no one talks about it lmao but it was probably like 8 years ago
I was also there from basically the beginning and would love to see them go into the Creatures and stuff but that feels like a lot of content to condense into a video like this. I feel like there's a lot of context and important stuff that could be missed.
As a 20 year old I remember watching Steve as MLGHWNT the minecraft youtuber / animator. Even back then we was creating these elaborate stories with lore like two gods called "Admin and Steve" etc. etc. Then SP7 happened and it was so amazing to see Steve create this new and interesting content from day 1. I even got to meet them at RTX one year!
This is also how he actually met Cib and Sparkles. Steven and Cib were friends for years before sp7. I loved watching them in the old days before he deleted his videos.
Watching these videos is so enjoyable. Caanths and I seem to have the same taste in online content and it's cool to see that interest told to someone who is actually listening and enjoying unlike everytime you try to tell a friend in real life about a UA-cam series you like. It's like watching the best case scenario of sharing something you love with someone who knows nothing about it.
Thank you omniscient british voice from the stanz channel. When i heard you teasing it on the sourcefed video I was really looking forward to reliving some of SP7 bc when it first came out it was legitimately my favorite thing to watch . its obvious you actually really liked it bc this is a great recap. crazy how well SP7 holds up all these years later
Seeing a lot of comments saying they've never seen SP7 before this video - PLEASE go watch for yourselves www.youtube.com/@sugarpine7 this video doesnt even scratch the surface of how great they are. Also go check out their podcast Cib and James are still making it and its great! - caanths
I watched steve back when he was mlghwnt, then followed him to sourcefed, then was there at the start of SP7 and watched till that series ended and to this day it’s one of my favorite youtube memories. i got my best friend and sister to watch sp7 too at the time and every once in a while we’ll still make references to some of the jokes. it was so much fun to see steve and the groups creativity in the episodes and follow the story of it all. i miss it so so much.
A CowChop deep dive would be nuts. It’s JackAss and Eric Andre fused into one, and many modern twitch streamers and UA-camrs have aped the format of modern gameplay videos of video game capture and live action segments.
Oh fuck you just gave me the nostalgia feelies. Remember when they would constantly almost burn down their house and then their warehouse because they wouldn’t stop setting the couch on fire for no fucking reason? Or when they nearly made a bomb smashing a cell phone causing the battery to smoke violently? Good times.
As a 20 year old now, I remember watching Steve as MLGHWNT the minecraft youtuber / animator when I was a little kid. it feels so weird that i thought steve was a newish streamer and ive seen him play valorant with offlinetv friends, i love these videos so i can learn about the creators who have been around for a while
It doesn’t help when someone mentions sp7 in his chat he goes “no one here knows what that is” and moves on so it’d be hard to know unless you remember the videos
This is such a great video for me specifically bc I knew of SP7 only because of Parker, as I watched mainly minecraft content coming up and he was part of that community too; all I knew of SP7 was that they "killed him" because of sami-jo, but I could not for the life of me tell what of the character dynamics were real and what was fake bc I couldn't be bothered to go through the backlogs lmao...I was the one watching random episodes and missing the root of the inside jokes, so this really helped sort some of the timeline/drama out lol
I wasn't a sourcefed fan (nor a sugarpine7 fan) but seeing them end is really reminiscent of cowchop ending and that was a channel I really cared about. Sad times
man i loved SP7, haven't thought about them in a while updating as i actually watch the video; when they're talking about the inside jokes part of the series felt kind of like arrested development as a youtube vlog also alfredo feels like the same sort of piece of lore as zipper on the yard
Sp7 was prob the best thing to come out of UA-cam imo. I wish be could get one more episode like a reunion thing or something maybe a Christmas special😭
Man, SP7 was one of my favorite channels on the platform and they gave me so much enjoyment with their content. It makes me so sad and depressed seeing it go away.
seasons 1 and 2 of SP7 is honestly some of the most brilliant stuff that has ever been written and produced entirely for youtube. seasons 3 and 4 were shaky, but they were still producing some absolute bangers within them. I was devastated to watch it end, but I was glad to watch it's brilliance unfold when I first found it halfway through season 2. Steven and the crew had a perfect feel of comedy and character, which they somewhat lost when they turned into "office shenanigans" in S3 and S4. I...there is just no words for how brilliant it was at it's peak. The peak of what UA-cam was meant to be.
i remember how excited i was about sp7, id been a fan of suptic since his early minecraft days, back in the mlghwnt era. before sp7, before bahmlounge, i was probably one of his first couple thousand subscribers. his old animated minecraft series wild adventures was so creative, so to anyone who remembered that seeing him do something as creative and big as sp7 was both unsurprising and just like a huge point of pride. he’s one of those unsung youtube legends who’s been around doing incredible things for an insanely long time and rarely gets the recognition he deserves for it imo
man its so crazy realizing how connected the yt sphere is. like sp7 connecting to kryoz and sparklez was such a shock for me when i first found them. considering the connections those two both have to others you could really play 7 stages of kevin bacon w the youtuber world
Holy shit, SP7 inspired so many videos that I'd end up making and I was obsessed for years. Wonder if I still have their merch laying around. great video
I knew Steven's content before SP7 and I'm happy about his success though the years I've watched him from him making Minecraft videos to vlog/improv videos. I watched SP7 from the beginning and to the end of it, such a great experience I've watched on UA-cam
Seeing as you've been skirting around it with these deep dives I would love to see a deep dive of Rooster Teeth. It may be a little too much to cover though considering they existed even before UA-cam and they've had more than their fair share of controversy
Ive followed Steve since his BAHM Lounge days and all through the Minecraft phase and SourceFed. SP7 was a huge part of my life and I'll never forget the excitement I felt watching them win the streamys live. Even still, I watch Steve stream and listen to his music. He's truly an amazing content creator :]
What’s funny is now Steve is only like 1 degree away from Stanz. He’s living with xChocobars, and has been around the OTV and friends group a lot because of it
I found Steven septic through among us and then was into some of his music. I didn’t know he was in a whole skit group. The sp7 chapter 1 was so interesting I might gotta go watch it in full and the rest of the chapters
Definitely missed the lore where Steve, Cib, and Parker were all huge minecraft youtubers before this and Steve's time with Bahm Lounge. Can we get a Bahm Lounge dive?
Watching this brought back memories I didn’t even know I had, seeing the title I was like „what’s sugarpine7“ and then seeing the videos I remember watching them as a kid. Crazy stuff.

grieving the loss of Sourcefed while watching Steve/SP7 rise to winning a streamy was such a roller coaster of emotions.
