This has made me realize that Urgot would've been a way better fit for the role Aatrox tries to fill in Odyssey. Like a space pirate who's body is falling apart due to addiction to some all powerful magic source? That's Urgot baby
Make all of his legs have ora in them and when they're on cool down it can be shown the nature of his dependence, his inability to battle without and show his desperation for a cure
Aatrox could be awesome as another dark Star corruption, maybe him and rhaast can have an intense rivalry or aatrox can see rhaast as weak for his failure to corrupt kayn
Not to mention space crime boss who was grievously injured and is running around on spider legs?
A bit out of order, but Darth Maul has been all of those things.
This is on the same level of wtf riooot as Vex not being a star guardian/nemesis. These characters practically already have the setup for the skinline

Any Immortan Joe skin concept that doesn't immediately get assigned to Urgot has already failed in my opinion. That's literally the entire point of Urgot!

@@snule349 Yes, I edited this video, Thank you for the compliments, and you explained really well what I was going for. I put a lot of effort into the opening segment to give the feeling of entering the Odyssey universe. I couldn't keep up the 3D environments and sound effects for the whole video but the holographic display elements were meant to keep the theme going on a budget.
And Star Guardians could be an amazing addition to that

🔪I think it's Demaxian Empire as Demacia and Noxus combined and went off-world as a combined empire. Small insignificant detail but can't help myself. Also, once again Skyen writes Riot's lore for them. The editing felt like you Skyen so, I can say it's great.
Yasuo in the trailer feels very put together... i like him as ship dad...it really feels like the yasuo backstory is years in the background rather than recent like in the written lore
i'm perosnally theorizing that the 'Demaxian' Empire was supposed to be a fusion of the *Demacia and Noxian empires - seeing as Jarvan is still the Emperor, but also because of Kayn! He was a Noxian conscript on Runeterra, and so him advancing up through the ranks would make sense in Oddessy, as a neat little backstory parallel!
God, I love 🐲 the story you crafted for them. And I love what you did with Kayn. Like, what if the crew 🧟♀️ takes him with them (By Jinx smuggling him on board)? Perhaps here he will find the friends that Rhaast never was...

I just love the odyssey skinline and their story so much, I want to read and write so much fanfic: where we explore jinx's call to the void 🛤, where we get a silly buddy cop dynamic with Rhaast and Kayn that has a tragic undertone, where the crew has to band together to recover the stolen lizard boye, I- I just, I love them so much 🥺🧮
My literal only exposure to these characters comes from this channel but I think I’ve heard you mention that Twisted Fate has a husband, and if this becomes an adaptation I want that husband to be the “Tavern Keeper who doesn’t really care that much for combat but Will Kick Ass if Provoked” character to provide some kind of home base for the crew of the Wild Card as you called them for the episode(s?) in which they would interact with the main crew. Just one chill filler episode on a little settlement outside of the grasp of the empire. The kind of place where someone shooting someone else just gets some annoyed looks

This is a bit late, but i would like to also say one thing about Kayn's design that you didn't mention. Whilst Rhaast is a Dark Star, Kayn almost looks like someone straight out of the cosmic skin - down to similar color schemes of the body and hair, to the particle effects of the skin itself. The idea that Kayn takes the power of Rhaast (a Dark Star) and becomes an entity similar to a Cosmic is kinda interesting.
EDIT: ALSO! One other thing I'd like to mention is that other Dark Stars/Cosmics call Rhaast a runt and the like. His size and the fact he's a Dark Star that is supposed to just open up the way for other, more powerful Dark Stars. Hell, Rhaast is even afraid of other Dark Stars. In a way, he's an outcast of his own which fits with the rest of the skinline.
The editing is amazing! I really like the holograms they add so much flair to the video! Major props UnCover, you did a wonderful job!

honestly there's so much potential there, and I feel like one thing which could not necessarily be the main thematic, but certainly an interesting story, would be that of the implied corruption of Ahri
I second this! The Coven/Elderwood skin line is so interesting, it spans for decades from what I remember. It's just that it's kinda big there's a lot of them already.
Coven, elderwood, old gods, and eclipse are all linked together, so there is a lot of content for that storyline. Like numerous factions all fighting with their own agendas, all drawing on great mystical powers, but the lines that seperate the good and evil within them are…not always clear.
Great video idea, great editing. Would love one like this for High Noon 🕎. But, honestly, I would take any skin line.

Blood Moon has a great short story with Sivir & High Noon with Talon. They would both be excellent skin lines to develop the story further. They’re both very thematic and stand out from the rest of the skin universes.
I'm surprised you didn't touch on the brilliance of calling their ship the Morning Star! It sounds so poetic and spacey but is actuality is a brutal weapon. So perfect!
I'd totally buy a physical 💽copy of this if it ever became a movie
The only thing i'd change about the ending is Yasuo seemingly loosing but not before striking a last slash onto Rhaast, just enough for Kayn to regain controll.
The outcome would be the same as in Kayn would still end up in the same situation due to exhaustion and damage and it wouldn't undermine Yasuo's role since without him Kayn wouldn't have gotten the upper hand and gain controll once more. imo it woud add more suspense to the scene.

I saw some fanart of Silco in different skin line universes and the Odyssey one was my favorite, being a father to Jinx in this universe would be so wholesome
Holy... man i can't even put into words how excited you got me when you started describing your non-cannon story. I always think of movies and/or series and i don't really care if one or two aspects (maybe even the whole core) is based in an pre-existing setting, what matters is what are you going to feel watching it. For me, art is about evoking feelings, and the dynamics between the character as you displayed got me desiring for more, feeling excited and hopefull that one day it would be a series like Arcane. The only things i would change, if you allow me some opinion, is that yasuo would actually lose the battle against Rhaast (but he would in fact be really close to winning), but with his ultimate effort he granted Sona enough time to seal the Ora portal and flee, leaving a hurt and ANGRY rhaast beating the hell out of that portal trying to open it by force because he is not able to accept that he has lost, until the bombs do their job. I feel this would be the MAXIMUM possible redeem for yasuo, finally meeting his brother in after-life after just having the most honorable death possible AND at the same time stopping him from going back to his normal life, becauss without a vilain threatening existance, wouldn't yasuo return to his fucked up drunk life? I think it would be a REALLY emotional way to end a good arc with. Sona would go back to the space hippies, malphite and jinx could join TF's Crew and continue their lifes always remembering that fucked up drunk guy who was actually the definition of what a Hero is. Based on his previous vids & shorts, TB's opinion on the Psyops skinline wouldn't be a positive one.

I hardly pay attention to kayn's design but your explanation really make me amazed. A design can tell that much personality and character is so awesome to me for someone who don't really know anything about art. and I agree with your take on Sona's design. Her splash art look so divine but the model just doesn't do it justice. I've been hoping for wild rift to release the skin line because I'm sure the model will look so much better there.

The Odyssey event was the best event Riot has ever done for league, I had so much fun trying out different builts for every characters in the gamemode
I'd pay good money to watch Yasuo and TF do the as you so vividly described in the end!
Loved the edit, congrats to the editor, and I'm here to defend that the next "Arcane" should be the Three Sisters, not with Ashe and Sejuani, but a Greek Tragedy like story with Lissandra, Serylda and Avarosa, that would be great
Project would get my vote. I like fantasy and sci-fi genres, the general lack of cyberpunk or steampunk settings just makes me value each one a little more. It is one of the reasons why I like Piltover/Zaun so much. Project skins all look pretty good I just wish they would give us some thing more than just a model to look at.
Runner up would be High Noon skin line. The High noon story seems to have an idea what it wants to do but like a lot of league lore it doesn't ever give enough time to fully explore the ideas. We have the harbingers and the angels and some plot ideas dropped to be explored, not to mention there are some really dope skins.
side note: thought the editing looked really good. Keep up the good work UnCover!
Ah yes another good what’s the deal ⚛️and I love ❤️🩹 the editing and that intro of going through the ship 🛸 priceless 💷. One point of feedback ↩️, the blue for the backgrounds could have been a little darker to make the characters stand out I little more. One 1️⃣ question I do have, even thought their are 1️⃣2️⃣ or so skins what would be a good ➕ (addition) to odyssey line. Personally any of the demica characters or the Taliya (punk orb users). Anyone else ? Next skin line project 🦾 or the dragon masters 🐉

great vid as always!! love how you end up exploring the potential of all the ideas riot puts out. i've always thought that the way riot treats their skin lines is similar to how doll companies market their dolls: create a fun idea with a cute aesthetic and let the fans/customers do the rest. anyway great vid, and this might be my favorite of your "fanfictions" that you've done

Aatrox looks so similar to rhaast, if you didnt read aatrox's story you would think he was another dark star creature in the oddysey universe, im half convinced they just went "yea make another rhaast/make them look similiar to each other because they're both darkin in runeterra", then some writer went "wait that dosen't make any sense" and they shoehorned in his current backstory
My only thing to add to that fanfic is exploring Jinx's attraction to Kayn. Is it badbois in general? It is anyone who gives her exhorbitant amounts of attention? Maybe her disney princess look hints at her idealizing him hunting them cause it feels like being chased by prince charming. It could lead to some fun moments but I'd never wish for her to be reduced to just that, or even have it as a secondary motivation but it was a fun moment from the trailer I'd hate to see discarded entirely. Perhaps by the end she realizes she doesn't need to be swept into a grand adventure to find something valuable, pulled away by knight in shining armor to a beautiful castle, when she everything she could ever want is right there on the Morning Star.
10/10 review! I don't even play LoL but this line of skins has always captured my imagination and I feel that's a testament to it's potential. Your story sounds like the kind of show I would rewatch again and again to the point that it not getting an adaptation brings a tear to my eye.

Ayoooo this editing is looking sexyyyyyy. I loved the blue panel always showing up for the skins, it gave the video some nice cohesion. And the intro was suuuuch a cool way to open. Also the reference to tb Skyen short channel for the rapid fire skins was really fun. Gotta say tho. The idle animations of all the characters in the story time segments were getting really distracting. Especially when they were in big groups. Just a still image would do really. Even some poorly drawn sketches would be funny for that. Overall it's really cool to see a new editing style for this channel. I hope this buddy stays💕

The opening was supposed to be the set piece for this video and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. And I will keep your notes in mind for all my future editing projects. I see how a lot of repetitive movement can get distracting over a long period of time.
Your fanfiction segments are always my favourite parts of these videos, and with how compelling they are to listen to, they might end up convincing me to write a League fanfic to finally see some of the stories I'm so hyped about actually realised. and if only i wasn't already on another project I'd probably brainstorm some additional character and designs if only because after this video, my mind flashed to space military police shyvana (could open a lot of possibilities to work with alien shapes) or Riven (not demacian, but flipping the narrative of canon riven is interesting) investigating Yone's murder, maybe with vayne and quinn as underlings.

Mainly because the skin line started with such promise, then quickly became over saturated, then gained MORE promise but then started to suffer from the same problem that base runeterra has of several major threats happening at once with no clear-cut conclusion for them in site.
Have you considered putting captions in your videos? It would be a great asset and I'm sure it will be appreciated.

Not really, it doesn't show up on UA-cam Shorts. I made it for the main video to avoid blurring the whole splash art and obscuring the animations I made. Champion models are tall and narrow and the panel is made to fit around their shape.

Such a good explanation of the potential of this skin line. I love the way you can take the pieces of character design, the briefest tidbits of story, and the genre tropes of the world, and use them to explore every nook and cranny of the skin line to show its potential.
I would absolutely love to see one of these for Star Guardians? There's so much *yearning* there, and while there's not much in terms of story, what we do get in the various animated sequences is tantalizing enough that I'd love to see a deeper exploration. Like most of those give me the same vibes as, say, the dreams of the final battle from shows like Pretty Cure or Madoka, where we're setting up where we're going to end up.

I personally really like UnCover's editing style, it adds so much more flair to your videos! I especially liked the editing during your "future" segment, it feels like the perfect blend between Necrit's presentations and a storyboard. They could have a little more life to them (i.e. running animations when mentioning scooby doo hijinx and attack animations as a way to show fighting) , but I feel like that's pushing it a little

Watching this reminds me how much potential not only this skin line, but so many others have too. Odyssey itself is probably in the biggest chair for me as well, and makes something stir in my comic reading brain. Something like the zed/jhin comics would be perfect for this story!

With the last piece of fanfic you presented, that kinda hammered home my thoughts that Yasuo reminds me of Spike from Cowboy Bebop (and possibly he could end up like Spike).
🛀🏼🪶 amazing video as always Skyen. Personally I had the thought for the finale to split into two paths. Where in each one of Kayn and Rhaast kills the other and takes control, each scenario equally likely and equally fated. Both paths draw to the same conclusion, of course being defeated. Maybe in both timelines ripples of the other one shine through.

Sometimes I get those Odyssey brain moments, too. Like, "Oh man, I remember this one fanart of Odyssey Shen 🥷, or Odyssey Lux 😺, and they were so mundane but so cool!" Or "Aatrox looks more like a big mook Yasuo fights circles around in the first episode 🤸to establish his cred for all his being a (EFF)k-up." And "Man, Sivir actually does really work in this skinline💫, that feels right."
Your takes and narration skills on the fan fiction parts are amazing. It really brought me to see Odyssey in a new light rather than just some other very-cool-space-themed skinline. Had to agree with your Zed and Aatrox takes, too. Like they're just.....there to be cool skins and don't really contribute to the storytelling element much. Urgot would've been a better pick instead of Aatrox since: crime boss + is sick + very dependent on some sort of support....etc... just fits him more tbh.
And the amount of editing on this video really shows that you're very passionate about Odyssey so kudos on that. Can't wait for more videos like this :D

Loved the editing, my one critique is how painfully repetitive that 3 second segment of Get Jinxed started to feel when it was used so many times for the transition, especially with the shorts segment
Thank you so much for the positive feedback. And I completely agree with you about the music that plays during title cards. Listening back to the video a few more times, I also notice how repetitive it gets. I should've changed the track during the shorts segment to create variety. I will keep that in mind when scoring other videos.

I have a way to long (unpublished) fanfiction of the warring kingdoms/Imortal journey/lunar skinlines. There is so much setup and the fact that they are connected made my brainworms activate.

You'reright. I should've replaced the music used during title screens after a few times. During the shorts segment I could have used a different track to also show a change in the format of the video.

Damn, ive always loved every vid youve put out but holy shit this has to be some of the best editing, visuals, fanfiction, and analysis youve shared with us yet. Even if it takes a WHOLE lot more work and probably time, i hope we get more of this sort of content from here on. I wouldnt mind waiting months for this shit, its so worth it.
You know, I wish Riot would ask Fortiche to make the Odyssey a series like Arcane.
the story for Odyssey Aatrox would make a lot more sense for an Odyssey Sion or Odyssey Urgot skin.
Odyssey has vibes and energy, They can make it mature enough or comic enough.
They can even cross over with work with Miss Fortune Battle Goddess.

I just wanna point out that Rhaast and Aatrox are still brothers in this skin line. During the original event, they changed the announcer to Rhaast and Kayn and in that Kayn asks about Rhaast brother being a space pirate and Rhaast gives a disappointed response. Idk how that even makes sense but it’s something to note

When it comes to the editing, one thing I did notice was the emote frequency.
I like it when they function to convey something like your expression for that phrase. Like an emoji at the end of a text. But when there are multiple in the same sentence, it becomes quite distracting. I am so occupied with figuring out what functions the emotes have that I sometimes miss what is being said.
I love the LOR emotes and the way you incorporate them. But maybe keep it to about one emote per phrase. Or don’t use any at all if the phrase isn’t demanding it.
That being said, I am very glad that you are sharing your workload. Keep it up!
That's a very good point.
I have a shorter attention span than most so a few seconds without changes seem like an eternity. But I should slow down the edit during explanations to let people focus on the words being said instead of distracting them with emotes.

bit random-but another detail i noticed for the jinks splash art that leans alot into your romantic reading of her is the way Shes holding the rock?-not fulling holding on, but also not slipping? her pinkies out-and its just, a chill way to hold something? also this might just be me, but they shifted her design to be more-like, adulty, instead of teenager?-like she feels alot more like an adult in this line- or, eh, something along those lines!-also also, splendid video, loved the story part!

Well if you gonna expand that category of videos( which I would totally approve) I would suggest Project or Star guardian, I think both deserve it and the potential for animation series based on those universes make it more of an interesting subject.
All right, let's talk about how to make this work. I am thinking we do 2 series of 13 episodes each. Series 1 ends with Morning Star Crew meeting Karma, which leads to the pirate attack and the Scattering of the Templars. Series two ends in a grand finale with Kayn ending up with Rhassts power. Part of Kayn's character arc, is seeing that Emperor Jarvan IV's rule is not without problems thus by the series end his mission is to USE the power (and lessons) Rhasst 'gifted' him to make things RIGHT.... no matter the cost. Anyways, I nominate the following Studios to make this happen, Powerhouse Animation Studios (I enjoyed their work on Castlevania), Studio Mir (The Witcher, YJ: Phantoms), Titmouse, Inc (Legend of Vox Machina), or Studio Trigger (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners).
Now, my vote for what you should do NEXT.... is Psy-Ops. YOU said in your 'What should come after ARCANE' that though you didn't like the look of Psy-ops, you thought the core concept led to a strong narrative and is ripe for a High-Octane action thriller. So I want to see you challenge yourself. Give us the story that's clearly percolating in that beautiful mind of yours. Use the current character designs in this skin line as a STARTING point, and tell us how the story and their actions in it changes them and their looks.
