Today I install a new SAE electrical connector to the outside of my camper to allow access to the camper batteries in emergency situations - especially when boondocking where you may be camping all by yourself in a deserted area! This not only allows for connecting the camper to truck batteries together, but also allows for putting your camper jacks up in an emergency!

Planning to be boondocking more on our trip to AK later this summer so I'm adding a DC to DC charger to my 5th wheel so that I can safely use the duel alternators on my F-350 Powerstroke to charge my 2 280 amp/hr LiFePO4 batteries. This should have my batteries fully topped off each evening when we setup camp. I'm using Anderson connectors to make the truck to 5th wheel connection...they will double as a convenient place to plug in a set of jumper cables on my truck as well.
I used Anderson connectors on my Lance. Nice to rely on 100 amps if needed. I believe the SAE is 10 amps max? Good enough for one jack motor though. Great idea for lost/damaged controller.
Awesome idea. I assume the plug location is above your bed rail so you can access it while the camper is in the truck.
