A110 is such a wonderful design. I had the fortune to be driven in one in the 80ies (a special race version with no mufflers). The sensation of speed was fantastic since you sit basically on the floor, we drove nearly 250kmh on the Autobahn. The sound of the engine right behind you was insane since there was no insulation at all. Great little model, i also have a m-06 chassis....its great fun.
Thanks for the tips! I’ll be using my go to set of glued(sidewalls) “rush’” or “magic” wheels and hope to not traction roll too hard 😅 if I plan to make this competitive I’ll reach out to you for some insight I appreciate your input
It surprised me honestly from build to pavement. Although I have to reveal I used a 2mm spacer on the rear spring and forgot to mention it, it was sagging a bit too much for my liking, the car sags a lot from factory but I think thats how it gets its traction in the rear end
Awesome build mate! I already have the blue one, so probably won't get this one, but who knows at a later date. Already got 4 M06 m-chassis 😄 but I like how it is pretty unique with the RR and the longitudinal battery.
I’m on the fence as to which m chassis to run for next seasons chump series mini cup! Seeing how well this hooks up on concrete might have sealed my decision on the m-06! Thanks dude! Can’t wait to see u run this on carpet in the upcoming vid!!
😂 it surprised me on pavement! However Id like to see if I can make it perform just as good with a square tire set up, Im not a fan of the softer rear wheels
@@rexrcs Let alone on gravel... I know some of the Japanese folks have done it with a gyro... I think it's a tough one, as having such a short wheelbase it'll spin faster than you can react, as I found the hard way with my M08 on a R5 Turbo gravel setup I made for it, but still, I want to make a M-chassis work on RWD, somehow... Someone might call me stubborn, if not pig-headed, haha!
That’s a real looker. Goes really well too. Im amazed at how well damped it is considering it’s only got friction shocks Great to see it burn rubber!👍😎
I was very surprised as well, but I think its the spring selection that Tamiya have made that really helps those pogo sticks work better. i was honestly very happy to see how well it drove!
Enjoy your style and great tips. Where did you find this kit in Canada for cheaper than stateside? I like it and looking to buy. Thanks & All the best.
hey, thanks for thé zoom room tip. Seem like a good source for all sorts of goodies! I received the Alpine just yesterday. Opted for the tamiya dampers as you suggested 👍 getting back in following a ~30 yr hiatus. I’m hoping to meet locals and enjoy some parking lot fun. Unfortunately, you’re right about the torsion bars - even looked into yeah racing and 3racing for an aftermarket solution. No luck. Tamiya .. just as I remember them.. All the best!
I almost needed to buy another kit , love these tamily kits . Thanks for video You need to check out FCX24 mini crawlers . I've built course indoor & out
You're really trying to get me into mini racing aren't you? What's the diameter of the headlight? I saw it had a pocket inbehind. I'm wondering if a Willys Wheeler lens would fit.
HAHA! you made me chuckle out loud. these minis are too cool, theres no way to take them too seriously and my obsession for them is growing! the headlight is your typical, and there is a mount for ed in the back of it, but no hole, and its solid plastic, so an led sticking through the faux headlight may look strange, willy lens i think would work
I tend to agree, I will be ultimately trying to make this perform with a square tire setup if I can. So far the Base TT-02 is still one of the least favourites.. emphasizing on the word “base”. The M06 comes with adjustable links which right away allows for tuning options to play with to suit your driving surface, I also find my M chassis cars are much easier for me to run in smaller areas
40 bucks Canadian .... so that's about $ 7 dollar US then ? LOL . Nice job on the video bud . Great for the beginner. Interesting servo placement on this MO6 . I've never had one . Looks fantastic and drives pretty nice too . Very quiet for low cost car as well . 👍🏼
Hi there Rex, a great over view video of the Alpine on the M-06 chassis. Looks to be scale like in its drive train and handling characteristics. It just so happens, I’m working on the VW Beetle on the M-06 chassis in the L configuration. It will be interesting to see how this compares with the S configuration of the Alpine… great little video, have fun with the Alpine, it looks stunning. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😁😊😉
Hi John! so you've finished the MF-01x beetle rally? Ive been following your beetle build and you're all wrapped up it would seem. I love my rally beetle but have yet to spend enough time with it, its a sharp looking detailed model that one is. thank you! I will bring all of them out to make comparison videos in the future
@@rexrcs Hi there Rex, yeah, that’s what I love about the hobby, getting so absorbed in the model, brings me such pleasure. I look forward to a side by side comparison. Keep up the great videos. Take care and best wishes to you and the family. 😉😊😉
Agreed, which is why im torn now on finding another M06 or another MF-01X (in rwd configuration) to put under the ford escort body? Mf is sealed up and easy to clean with electronics on top. The m06 is a tub ready to hold dirt but it seems to drive so much better so far?
Hey Rex! Excellent video. Waiting patiently for that carpet run... Should be picking up my M-06 Giulia kit next week and have a Mazda MX-5 body ordered as well. Did you end up putting the oil-filled dampers on your M-06? Cheers!
Hi Scotty, I havent been yet to the indoor track sadly but once Im there I will firstly be trying the car fully stock. I presume it will flip immediately on the high traction black carpet, so a switch to track specific tire set will happen(with glued front sidewalls to reduce roll grip). I feel like theres too much down travel and ride height in the stock suspension so I will prebuild oil dampers with travel limiters in them and medium oil with probably single hole piston. Hopefully get it all in video for you
We love the m06, great video my friend👍
I cant wait to try it out! I love feeling the different characteristics of various chassis’
Great looking little car
It really is!

😮 wow thank you for sharing the experience 😍 which body do you have on your M06 chassis?
Beautiful! Tamiya make such good kits, and the detail on the bodies is brilliant.
cant wait to get it on the carpet track for some nice footage
Looks fantastic, you did a great job. I've had one sitting in the build pile for a while now but I must get it finished.
Thanks Gavin! 🙌 appreciate your comment
Took a lot to get my M06 competitve
I found 24mini tyres grip well and super glue sidewalls also ..

Awesome! The Alpine is on my wishlist of RC cars. It’s a beauty!
Nice build, it came out perfect. Tamiya kits are lots of fun to build. Nice tutorial 👍🏾
Thanks! I wanted to make a video for a friend whos new to rc
The only M-06 I ever had was the Lowride Pumpkin! Pervasive absolutely poor. This one looked GREAT! Quite composed... And my favorite Body EVER.
Beautifully done. Now I want one. :D
Go for it! you need it on that track of yours !
i think I might have heard you say there is a choice of wheelbase? 210mm an option ?
Yes ! You can make it 210mm, 225mm, or 239mm wheelbases
Nice, i was thinking of getting an M06, now this video made me decide on pulling the trigger

@@rexrcs do you still need the shim/washer set? Does it still have some slop on the suspension
Stunning mate . I’m so tempted.
Im hoping to get to the indoor track within the next two weeks sometime 😅
Nice one mate, I dig it! The one wheel shots are terrific! 👍👍👍
haha you know the secret!

Id recommend an M08 for racing but make sure you have a spring set

Yes! After i try this in stock form i’ll probably try a 17.5 with cva’s
What a beauty!
its gorgeous I want another body lol
Great video, wanting to get this as its a stunning looking model but the body has so much work i might change my mind
😅 if you were closer Id do the body for you!
It sure is a nice scale looking rc, and the bright color scheme is just nice. Runs nice too. Do be careful on carpet ;D
