#DidYouKnow: The cocoon of a silkworm is made of one thread of raw silk from 300 to 900 meters (1000 to 3000 feet) long. About 2,000 to 5,000 cocoons are needed to make a pound of silk.

Excellent💯💯👍👍👍👏👏👏
Outstanding
I Like it👍👍👌
Very good I understood everything
I just love the explanation. But in a lot of textbooks they say that when the silk worm is in the cocoon they boil the cocoons which kills the larve and softens and loosen the cocoons and further made into silk and they also say that if we wait until the larve becomes a moth and after they fly away with the cocoon damaged it will not be fine silk. I am confused. Will you someone please clarify this? And also are there male larves or all larves are female?
Thank you ❤️😊
Pupas are supposed to be killed by dipping them into hot water / air to remove their glue and to prevent pupa from cutting or simply destryoing cocoon.
All other is beautiful ❤

In sericulture industry, at pupa stage the cocoons is boil into the hot water so due to this the larvae is die. And we get silk filament. If you break the cocoons then silk thread will also break which wind up on the cocoons. Please make the corrections in the video.
