I own an Audi and work in this DX space in South Africa. To see this how Industry 4.0 is being led in Germany is very encouraging. Congratulations Audi.
This is genius. During the day you can have employees (who are much quicker) work and then close up shop and allow the smart factory to take over with light supervision.
Robotics will be creating a gap between the haves and the have nots that will be as great as the gap between apes and humans. The society of humans with access to the benefits of these incredible robotic factories will be separated from a society of humans whose existence will grow more and more primitive and destitute. Human Greed can not be satiated.
*Hyrule Hero*....Aha, but who's to say that extremely high tech robots will not be able to create more robots. The era of *science non-fiction* has arrived, so that maybe stock holders will own a vehicle manufacturing plant, but the entire factory will be entirely automated, with vehicles coming off the production lines without a single human interaction. Supplies to the factory I imagine, would continue as normal. I tend to think that's it's doable, but of course it's how we humans initially programme the robots in the first place...
David Hamilton Because Robots have a program made by a human, they cannot just get their own personality and build more robots because they are NOT made of carbon. They are NOT living creatures and they won't ever be, because for a true artificial intelligence, you would need to reconstruct the human brain, wich is not possible. EVERY robot follows a step by step program, even those "self learning" robots.
do you know how much it goes to have "robots do robot things automatically"? If it's automated, someone had to teach a piece of metal to do human stuff.
Вы самые крутые,ребята!!!Especially the serious man who was in the frame with the wires and cool as well guys who wore glasses and did everything in virtual reality! Is this really the way cars do, people? It's certainly a masterpiece, steeper not, you are really worthy of an Oscar !!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!Bravo!!!I want to have a wheelbarrow of your masterwork process !!!!! It will really be an honor for me!
That assembly is slow but they can run it 24/7 365 plus with the google glass and HTC virtual reality, anyone can be taken off the street, trained to do anything and be ready to go in 24 hrs, so if anyone doesn't like how things are, they can easily be replaced. Also, with no conveyors because of the drones and free moving machines, some trucks can pull up and offload all that stuff, and anywhere can instantly be turned into a production facility. You don't need to take forever to set up a traditional assembly line based production facility with conveyor belts and heavy machinery that's fixed in place and takes forever to move if you wan't to adjust your production line.
love audi - it's all i drive. with that being said... do we really need flying steering wheels delivered by drones? why does it have to fly? can we keep it real please?
Sehr Gut. Außerdem werden Autos nicht immer günstiger. Wer soll sie sich noch Leisten?
Thing is, this may be taking some jobs, but only lower skilled jobs. There's no reason why the factory couldn't upskill their people to maintain and run the machines
It IS not without workers. Just their roles will change. Smart factories allow for more complex and thus labor intensive products; which now may be beyond imagination. The nature of human labor will evolve alongside product complexity. Humans simple repeating tasks will be overtaken by robots, humans will switch to tasks that are too complex for {payable} robots. Secondly, smart factories will allow for production in the western world that right now is outsourced to low wage countries.
If they have automated factories like this set up then humans won't have to work. Someone could just submit a design into an automated factory, and if someone likes that design and orders it then the factory can automatically reconfigure itself because of no conveyor belts or machinery that's fixed in place and make the product that person ordered so no materials are even used until someone has already payed and ordered. The designer then gets a percentage of each item sold. You're telling me you couldn't design a car or piece of clothing or other product that people would buy? In general, people think too small. Always looking to someone else to give them something to do that they can get paid for instead of generating their own wealth.
@ 6:00 - patterning bench. good idea. "teaches the robot to install plugs at exact spots. @ 8:00 - air drones w/ parts. inefficient but interesting for memo's and what-nots. @ 9:30 - optical harness on human. inefficient. installing a gasket is for a robot. @10:30 - IA operator drill. ?what's the point? ?phantom interior design drill? @ 12:20 - laser etching of different materials. human vacuuming of dust. inefficient. @ 13:00 - remote sensing and guidance of human to unplug robot. inefficient. Overall an interesting but BASIC presentation of the capability of AUDI Smart Factory. Rating - 2 stars out of possible 5 stars.
10:30 is clearly about Smart Engineering, an integral part of smart factories. Regarding all other points: This video clearly presents no more than a manufacturer's first steps in exploring smart factory solutions. That is the whole smart factory concept: just develop new tech. Applications will be found anyway, if not now than in the near future.
So why haven't they developed a industrial robot hand for the more delicate parts of the production yet! , the robots need hands so they can feel what they see.
^Aerodynamic testing of Audi chassis for intended driving speeds. Joking aside are those just driving slow cause the next operation is a slight bottleneck anyway and they're only driving the speed to get there on time, or is that as fast as they go anywhere in the production line?
mohamed zyad ait batahar the drone concept is for example if a wrong steering wheel or any other wrong part was delivered, they can very fast bring the right part to its installation place and don't have to run down the production line for a long time
Everytime i see automation or smart technology in a work place I don't think wow that's amazing! I think how many people will lose a job, automation ain't always smart
so if that guy didn't get that plug in right, and he walked away with the unit, would it show a frowny face, yelling nein nein nein and just start chasing him?
CSCOTTREDFIELD We never recommend laying off employees in digital transformation. Allocation, re-education, and maximize efficiency would be the recommended option. Its people that makes the final calls after all. When people are all replaced by robots, nobody would have to work ever again :)

Despite that "smart" movements of quite a few robots, the most vital jobs like assembling are still carried out by hands. And by the way, why the lonely worker under the car body walking without safety helmet and company uniform??)))

I am sure that, a car is produced in 30 hours 😀

This is all Tech Demo. An i think they just clear the Factory for the Video.

Surely there's a more efficient way to move stock around a factory than a drone..
Many other fabrics already work with that technology... this isn't the future, it is the present
Th3CrazyBOy which one please....?
It's a really nice work, fully automated.. But I still like the Handcrafted Rolls Royce.

Aka, cyberdyne systems model. They'll have the model 101 next 😬
if you make robot to build cars , how could humans afford those cars if they have no more job ???
Thank you for not letting human touches my car. Hail feelingless Robots.

to choose less demanding jobs.

Finally not faster than human...

smart maybe. can't see the efficacy. google glass to put a seal on, a nosey drone to do the job of a conveyor, give me a break audi
mohamed zyad ait batahar the drone concept is for example if a wrong steering wheel or any other wrong part was delivered, they can very fast bring the right part to its installation place and don't have to run down the production line for a long time
I think what they are trying to do is a "quick setup factory" for small series. This gives them an edge from setting up all the conveyors.
Why are so many people named after a mass-murderer?
yeah they lost me on the steering wheel drone lol
