Besides cruising there were the street races in Gardena. Meet up at the hamburger place on Western Avenue, find your race and then in a convoy every one heads over to the warehouse area. Been decades since I've been there.

It was maybe a hundred yards or so from the 405, if going north on 405 turn right on Western and it was on the right side, drive past it maybe 20 feet and turn right and everyone would park on that street to setup races. It's been almost 35 years since I've last been there. I looked it up on google maps and it looks like it's a Del Taco now.

Were there any Chinese Americans attending the Nisei 1970 cruising? Were there any Chinese Am. Car clubs back then?

Absolutely, there were non-JAs (and Chinese Americans in particular) who participated in both the Cruise as well as had their own car clubs.
