Y'all shouldn't be, though. People like me were telling y'all to stop buying these games no matter what, stop believing these game changers because they will ALWAYS ultimately side with whatever EA is doing because EA and Sims pays their bills. Now, everyone is all surprised and shocked. If you keep feeding into a game that is giving you less and less for the same or more money, OF COURSE, the train of thought is going to be, "They'll literally buy ANYTHING we put out, no matter how bad or bare it is, so might as well make mobile type games because so many simmers will sit here and push out money for anything." I said a year or two ago, KITS were the test for how much people would buy into microtransactions and now look.
@@BooDotBoo You're so real, speak it louder omg. I personally really against game piracy, yet for some reason Sims 4 is the only game that i would 100% pirate without feeling any remorse. So in conclusion, stop clinging to EA. They don't even care about their own game, let alone their player base... Go give your support to either InZoi or Paralives, or just go back to past Sims games, or maybe just pirate TS4 if you have guts to do it.
I'm just so glad I was born in the early 90s and was able to grow up with this whole franchise. I cannot even tell you the memories attached to it: endless summer days doing nothing but playing TS1 as a kid, the excitement I felt when they released TS2 and THEY WERE GETTING PREGNANT AND GROWING OLD. Then they came up with TS3 during my teens and now we were able to have an OPEN WORLD and go to your neighbour's home without a loading screen... I cannot remember a time in my life when I wasn't playing The Sims, growing and becoming an adult as the franchise kept evolving too. It breaks my heart as well this is the direction EA's choosing to take, but I'm forever grateful for the memories and I thank God I grew up, like you said, with VHS, having to learn and know how to use a computer with ACTUAL CDs and with some of the benefits that came with the Internet but without the craziness that came up after social media. We were a damn lucky generation.
Oh my gosh you described it so accurately I truly felt that... I agree with you, I feel like we grew up in a very fortunate time, I feel like things got out of control a bit now :( but yeah we were very lucky to have experienced the very beginning
EA is greedy. Maxis died a while ago, they are Maxis by name only now. I personally think we let them off to easy when they released The Sims 4. Too many people hoped it would get better. It hasn't got better. The only reason people really play it is because there isn't a sufficient competitor to provide something different. I think that time is coming to an end though. This live service stuff is EA through and through. Greed.
I am saddened by the news. Paralives looks cozy, but I always loved the zaniness of The Sims, it's sometimes mean and rude humor is something that Inzoi and Paralives aren't going to try and embrace, but then again, Sims haven't done it either. On a side note, Nintendo is suing PalWorld , and while I never played it, I hope Nintendo loses. These giant game companies are ruining any chance of innovation, all because they want to maximize profits and never allow creatives to lead.
Those games can't dethrone the Sims, much like Simcity 2013, the Sims will implode itself before competition does. City Skiylines did not kill SimsCity 2013, EA basically screwed up massively enough to turn a bunch of people away and City Skylines collected them in frustration. Sims is really the only one with the power to kill the Sims...and they just might have. At the very least, InZoi and Paralives just won my purchase.
@@TheDawnofVanlife Yea, I always find it weird people say Skylines killed Simcity. The Simcity had ALREADY been dead, it was basically dead on launch and Skylines was released 2 years after.
I feel like Paralives has more power to dethrone The Sims. I think it'll be more actively competing with The Sims because they have similar system spec requirements. Inzoi isn't going to be getting the market with 5+ year old computers. I do agree that it feels like it could be more of a SimCity situation. If Paralives takes over from The Sims one day it'll be because The Sims itself completely dropped the ball (moreso than anything Paralives does), which it's doing a lot these days but I'd say it'll have more consequences when actual alternatives start showing up.
I think it’s more important for there to be a variety of life sims for players to choose from, than to focus on which life sim is superior to the other ones.
I’m 37 and I totally agree with you … games industry is totally dead . I’m always been a gamer , play from rpg to horrors and etc meanwhile I grow up with the sims and is very upsetting see how the franchise turned up . I hate mobile games , they are so soulless and stupid .
Simply because the mobile segment is profitable. They could make good mobile games to waste time gently but the vast majority of mobile games are cashgrabbers. EA following the cash and will make shit stuff to get as much as possible just like the other publishers and major studios. I am 38 and playing games since 1992 and sad to see the amount of degradations during game making. I was excited when the very first 576 kylobyte and Pc-X magazine (hungarian magazines) have had demos, sharewares and good articles about games. Nowadays the identity politics more important than making good games while the technology improved a lot to make games faster, better, easier. This franchise always was sadly a milker one even if we not like to admit it. I love the Sims 2-3 because by far these games were the best ones then they released a broken mess (Sims 4) and you can see their goal and aims.
Greed unfortunately slowly killing gaming. As you can tell by the amount of games coming out buggy, half finished, and heavily monetized with cash grabby DLC and cash shops. Use to be a huge fan of mmo’s until they started becoming pay 2 win and pay 2 progress with majority of the Communities being whales *(A whale is someone who spends megatons of money on a mmo or mobile game)*and toxic players.
Moblile games are so parasitic now. They were never competative with pc games in terms of complexity but I miss the iphone 5 days when they were at least quality on the go entertainment.
Gamers are increasingly frustrated with live service games, as many have flopped in recent years. If developers believe that this approach is the best way to go for The Sims franchise, they are seriously mistaken. This is why I have a strong appreciation for indie games; they often surpass the latest big AAA releases. Indie games are crafted with passion and attention, free from the pressure of greedy publishers. I really dislike modern gaming. Physical games are disappearing, and companies don’t want you to own your games anymore. They prefer to create free-to-play or live-service online only games that they can take away from you whenever they want. Most big games today are made by people who either don’t understand or don’t care about what players want; they only focus on making money. Occasionally, there are good exceptions like Baldur's Gate 3, but those are rare. Gaming has changed a lot from what it used to be. That’s why I also play old games from my childhood. You can see that they were created with care and love, aiming to give players a great experience.
True and it's reassuring that we're seeing more and more people coming out and expressing their opinions on this matter... Yes I find myself spending a lot more time playing indie games now rather than triple A games. Oh my gosh what you said is SOO real!!!! I still have my CDs from sims 1,2 and 3... and yeah they make games thinking of how profitable it's going to be :(((
The part about physical media is happening with things like tv shows too. It’s frustrating to have good shows and movies locked behind streaming services instead of being able to purchase DVDs and watch them wherever.
yes i’m turning to everything indie rn. indie music, games and animation. it’s just hard as a console player as most of these indie games obviously don’t come out on them, but i’m doing everything i can to support them in other ways because i really think they’re the future for quality, handcrafted and passionately made games and content
@@serinajewel438 It's not really about corporate greed here. Larian has been upfront from the beginning that they never intended to release any DLCs for BG3. They even mentioned something like, "we don’t do DLC; we create a complete game from start to finish." When the game blew up in popularity and many asked for more, they thought, "Hey, maybe we should consider DLC," and started brainstorming. But then they realized they were just going through the motions and decided to scrap the idea. There were never any official announcements about DLC. Honestly, the game is already massive, with tons of ways to replay it. They spent years crafting it, so we can't really fault them. They gave us an awesome game without any microtransactions or nonsense, and now they're ready to move on to their next project.
Also I feel like soon ea will end up like Ubisoft, they try targeting new gen kids but they don’t getting that is almost the older generation playing proper games . It’s a big mistake
@@the-gaming-doc the problem with Ea is greediness, it’s been years and years we told them to fix the game all we get is new pack with no contents that brakes the game even more , now they told us we stuck with sims 4 forever but after 70 packs how much more can handle it before became totally unplayable. The excuse of new “simmers ‘ not want move on because they gonna lose save files and all build up is just ridiculous, we can still have sims 5 and play sims 4 no problem. I still play sims 3 you know ? All excuses to don’t make a proper new game . I see lots of people attacking Inzoi because are afraid is gonna be with micro transactions, even if is so Inzoi still a complete game from the core , this people don’t realise that Ea already do that but in expansion packs form .
Sims 3 already was maybe a quit point for the series, but they decided do one more time. Sims Online 2 maybe next ? Sims online original stil active on non ea servers !
I used to be able to sit and play TS2 and TS3 for HOURS. 4 came out and I just didn’t feel it. I haven’t played in over a year now. I miss it, but I’m kinda glad I don’t play because the amount of money spent on packs ☠️ I can’t imagine the amount of money they’re going to suck out of people with this decision 😬
Devastated as well. I want them to do Spin-Off Sims titles, but I don't want the mainline Sims game to be frozen at Sims 4! There's so much Sims 4 can not do and it really needed a modern refresh on the Sims at the BASE. Paralives and InZoi please, please, save us. Thanks to this, I plan to buy both just to vote with my wallet (even if I can't run InZoi). I am done buying ANY new sims packs. I mean I have been done since For Rent, but now I officially am doing so no matter what they put out. Your reaction is valid.
Yesss exactly how I feel! I think spin-offs are cool and I do like them but just like you said, I didn't want them to just stop at Sims 4 :( I'm very hopeful about paralives and inzoi ♡
Don't apologize for being angry. I've been playing sims since TS1, stopped buying sims games when TS3 ended. I still play TS3 today and will play it until I no longer have a interest in it. Sometimes I take breaks for months at a time, but I always make my way back to it. As for the rest it, you're not wrong; about any of it.
You are 1000000% correct about everything you said in this video. I could not agree more. I cannot believe that this is the end for our precious Sims. I’m heartbroken.💔Sims 1, 2, 3 were the best video games ever invented. Sims 4 broke my heart a little with the way it did not live up to its predecessors. But now all hope is gone for a turn around with Sims 5. It’s a tragedy for us, older players, who were so loyal to this game series. I’m grateful that we have older sims games to turn to but I really wanted it to continue the legacy as opposed to ending with Sims 4.
Thank you so much!!! ♡ and yes exactly!!!! I was so hopeful we would get a Sims 5 to redeem Sims 4... I'm actually considering going back to the sims 3 for now... I'm also even more excited now about inzoi and paralives. So true, we have seen and played so many iconic Sims games that this is just truly saddening :'((
@@the-gaming-doc But Inzoi and Paralives are not the sims… and will be completely different games. -sigh; Maybe someday, a former creator of the sims picks it back up and continues the legacy or even revisits the older games and improves/builds upon them. Or am I delusional?🤣 I’m currently playing Sims 2 and 3. There is still an amazing amount of content that I haven’t explored in those two games and even with sims 1, I’m thinking of playing that too sometime. I want to give Sims 4 another chance too, eventually, because it’s not completely terrible. It’s just disappointing, like a bad apple.
Notice how "continued depth" is mentioned lastly too, clearly not a priority for them to make any _deeper_ lifesims than Sims 4, expect to pay $5 to recolor a virtual couch. I _really_ hope Paralives and InZOI don't go the way of Life by You, they're now in a market that EA doesn't want to compete in.
Oh my Gosh HAHAHAH I can totally see that happening, $5 for a recolor xDD Oh my gosh true, I don't think I could handle inZOI and Paralives not coming out T_T
Vivaland also coming, also a life simulator game and hopefully many other studios will consider to make competition so more life simulator games coming is a great thing.
@@BriarPatchNyra They do no have budget for marketing and lately they are a bit silent cause of fixing some issues and improving their game for beta. It's more or less like the Sims but more focused on online playing but the developers said you will be able to play single too. Worth to check their house builder demo.
So I guess this is the official death of Sims. I'm never playing this game again, I was so much waiting for a new updated an unbroken Sims. Luckily, more and more better games are release so at least we will not miss it.
I'm happy if Sims ends now. EA sucked every good thing out of it. I'm glad I never played Sims 4 much because my Sim memories continue to stay intact. I can ignore that Sims 4 ever was. I can still remember being a kid/preteen seeing The Sims at my local Walmart and being intrigued by it because I believe I'd seen as ad for it while playing SimCity. I bought it immediately. Fell in LOVE. Thought Sims 1 could never get better, but then Sims 2 came out and I remember the trailer for it and how much uproar it caused. Sims would be 3D? Genetics? And it just got better from there. Sims 3 came out and an OPEN WORLD?! However, I remember when Sims 4 was announced. All that excitement I had for the previous games just wasn't there. Something about it seemed off from the start. I kept up with the news, but never bought the game. I left Sims alone for a while, actually, and started enjoying other games. Eventually upgraded my desktop and got back into Sims 3, then Sims 2.The excitement while downloading those games was back. I was even discovering things I didn't find the first time I played. Sim 4 still didn't seem appealing, especially after the pool and toddler thing. But then 2020 happened and Sims 4 was being given away for free. I tried it, played a few hours and nothing. I didn't want to play for hours on end. I went to my friends who played the Sims 4 and asked them about it. They were like, "Just buy a few expansions, that should help." So, I bought two that seemed interesting and were, thankfully, on sale. Tried them and one literally didn't work... the other one was pretty boring, so again, I played for a few hours and nothing. I tried over and over for almost three years and I finally hit 24 hours played in the game. I gave Sims 4 a fair try, but I could never get into it. For those that could, more power to you, I'm just happy I didn't spend a thousand bucks on this game HOPING it would get better. I feel bad for those that keep buying packs, hoping something will actually make the game feel GOOD. Many Sim 4 players never even played 2 and 3, so they don't even know what they're missing, sadly. I'm just happy I got to live during the time Sims was a thing, but I'm happy if it ends because it's just NOT the game it was. And people can say it's still selling well and all that, but it's selling well because people are trying to add to their game, some are stuck trying to just have every pack or whatever. I will enjoy all the new life sims coming and the ones that are yet to come when more devs realize they CAN compete with The Sims. And the fact that sims is about to become a social microtransaction nightmare... again, glad I never got pulled in. And the gaming industry didn't kill the sims because there are a million INDIE games that are selling well and aren't greedy like EA, EA destroyed the sims and I wish people would SAY THAT. GREED killed The Sims. Capitalism killed The Sims. This is why I mostly play Indie games, now; I don't play free games with pay to win or whatever stuff in it because it's not what I want. And let's also not forget... these types of games make money because of CONSUMERS. We (because I was all over the sim videos a couple years back until I realized simmers weren't going to change) kept telling people if they kept buying these packs no matter what, EA would eventually just stop caring... and they did. They only care about your money, now.
They're going back to what Sims 4 was originally - an online only game. That's why Sims 4 has no open world. Wouldn't work on low spec devices. Then for whatever reason they backpedalled but decided to repackage what they had as Sims 4. This is NOT new. They've been planning it since after Sims 3, but they weren't ready for whatever reason. I'm 48. Yesterday I reinstalled Sims 1 and Sims 2. The old ways are the best.
I can't believe how perfectly you captured what I felt when I read that article, omg. I'm not as devastated, though, because I realized back when they released Journey to Batuu that their priorities had shifted from quality to profit.
The thing about computer use hits SO hard as a millennial teacher. I have to teach these kids IT and they’re just completely stumped by anything computer-related. Them: “Why can’t I just touch the screen?” Me: “You have to click it with the mouse.” “What’s a mouse? What does click mean?” Don’t even get me started on saving or making a new folder or any of that. I get SO frustrated, especially because when I lived with my parents, THEY would bombard me with the exact same questions! I have to teach it both ways - up and down the generations! Are millennials the only ones who understand this stuff?! Argh!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I truly appreciate it, I have access to a lot of researches because of my profession but I don't always have the opportunity to see the real thing happening so I really appreciate you sharing it! ♡
Isnt it your job as a teacher to teach them this tho? Never understood how children are just supposed to know how to use technology they never used before. Its like how our grandparents acted like we were hopeless for not understanding how to use a rotary phone. Someone has to teach these kids how to use their resources and right now, that's the job of educators.
I was 7 @8bitky43 when I got my first computer in the 90's. Guess what, I learned BY MY SELF. It's not that hard to grasp and the new generation doesn't seem that quick on the up take thank to their dumb parents. Stop making excuses kids arent dumb just lazy 😂
I mean, you said so yourself, you got a *PC*, you had the time to familiarize yourself with it, a lot of the common symbology for computers is 90's/00's technology (like the save icon), kids these days get a tablet or smartphone, so they'll assume you can do the same things with a computer, it's the equivalent of you having to learn how to use a PC being taught by someone who used a computer back when it was just command lines and being expected to know everything, your technology, the technology of an 80's worker and the technology of a ten year old is going to be different, you can't just say it's all common sense
@@itahigarciagonzalez7769 thank you, I'd like to see this person try to operate a computer straight from the 60s, see how common sense it is then. Most kids nowadays know how to operate a tablet before they learn how to read. With every new generation there is a learning curve and it is up to the generations before them to give them the tools to keep up.
I'm 20 & can relate to every single thing you said. My childhood was filled with those amazing games which had unique stories and features, it's very sad to see where the whole gaming industry is shifting
Sims 4 is a big scam and it's really really bad. They're gonna keep releasing broken stuff for the sims 4 and have another sims games come out but they will not be what it was... and that's sad it's gonna be like that, we will never get sims 5 .
I refuse to buy any of their DLC except half priced expansion packs but sadly people out here buying "kits" and soon there will be a purchasable currency like V-Bucks u can use to buy one CAS or buildmode item. Seems like they're already setting it up to make CC cost money too, maybe it'll be like Roblox where U buy stuff on the marketplace with sims coins
I’m 28 been playing the sims since I was 7-8 my first sims game was The Sims Bustin’ Out on PS2 and I fell in love. I’d ask for a sims game every birthday, every Christmas, especially after I got a computer, it was over lol. I’ve played just about every sims game on PC. I absolutely loved sims 2 castaway on PS2, I had pets on PS2 & Nintendo DS and PC lol. It’s been a good 20 years. My heart is broken that the franchise is ending with Sims 4, the WORST installment of the franchise. It has a good build mode, but I live on CC and mods. I understand your frustration, I am frustrated as well. This is my childhood, my nostalgia, a big part of my life. I’m absolutely devastated that they’re not even gonna try to do better. 💔they’re just hopping on the quick cash wave. They’re not even acknowledging US the ones that have 20+ years of gameplay, the fans that’s been there since day one. It’s infuriating to say the least.
This is the "Simcity"ifying of the Sims, not in one to one mechanically but in essence and in context who owns the IP and all. Which means, the "Cities Skylines" of Life Simulation is hopefully around the corner. I do not know if it will be inZOI, as the type of game I am talking about would a more paradigmatic shift in the genre.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. Im also 28, i also grew up with every single sims game since the beggining, wasting whole summer breaks just playing. I remember waiting for the moment sims3 pets CD's were in stores, because im a horsie girl, and i was crying tears of joy when i learned sims3 will have horses, unicorns and open world. Sims 3 was my peak where i would mod the heck out of the game, mostly for horses (i literally knew how to mod the game as a preteen-teen, when these days kids dont know how to make a folder). I also dont like pirating, but.. my entire sims4 game is pirated and up to date up untill horse ranch expansion. I do not feel bad pirating Sims4 at all. And dont get me started how dissapointed i was for horse ranch... It doesnt even have half of the features sims3 had, and it costs more than my CD... EA is greedy. And these game changers will shill for them untill their last drop. Im glad theyre getting payed, everyone deserves a decent livelihood, but i do not stand with supporting this customer milking.
I grew up playing the sims and it holds so many good memories for me. But for me the sims died long ago. It was always on the edge of being too expensive with the expansions but at least you got a lot of complete content. After the sims 2 series i barely played 3 and 4. The expansions were huge cash grabs with minimal content. As the sims ended up I think this was for the best.
I actually find it kind of amusing. I think we should have seen this coming and tbh I'd rather have no game than a half-assed buggy excuse for a game. I do have a theory, I think the reason EA gave up on Sims 5 is because games like Inzoi are absolutely blowing it out of the park (I have my issues with Inzoi as well, but still) they know they can't compete because they realize at this point that people are sick of their half assed BS.
that is kind of the thing, they wanted to give us the raw version of SIMS 5, as it was with SIMS 4, so there would be almost nothing there, or even less ( how it was with SIMS 3 compared to SIMS4) Given that, there would be a huge risk that compared to paralives SIMS 5 would look bad (which probably it would) and boring, and cash grabby, again true. It's too big of a risk to release that and have the huge negative response (almost 100% sure). They would have to put much, much more effort to the SIMS5 (because of the new similar games on the market) then they at first expected, and they will not do that because EA has greedy bunch of old men at the tops. I am not surprised with the decision.
@@clumsy_koala6732 feel like its more what was said in the video it's more profitable to make a "free" game with microtransactions, people find it hard to drop $100 on a game but spending $100 in small transactions after getting hooked on a game is easy
What are you talking about they pretty much said the sims 4 makes so much money and they have so many people playing it that they don’t want or feel like they need to make a new game
Way too long comment here but I've nowhere else to ramble about this. At first glance, I thought the excuse that they didn’t want us to let go of characters and stories we’ve had for up to a decade was convincing. But the more I think about it, the less I like it, and I have some main reasons: - We wouldn’t have to let go of anything but our expansions. If they found a way to let us transfer our characters and convert them into The Sims 5 characters, they easily could. - There’s one thing I hate about the modern day: Nothing ever ends, and that doesn’t feel natural. We have the same top artists within most genres that we had in 2010. The Sims 4 is still active, and people follow the same UA-camrs, shows, etc. There is some appeal to that as well, but I genuinely think people NEED things to end from time to time. It’s natural and can be healthy. Yes, we would need to start over, but we HAVE TO at times. - It makes me question if they have a realistic perception of the playerbase. Yes, starting over might sound negative, but a fresh start can also be great. And let’s be honest here: If the excuse is that we’d have to “pay for all of this again” - most of us can afford a few expansion packs a year, and we’ll still have to pay for that in The Sims 4… And that just shows that they don’t want a Sims 5 because they’d just give us the same thing over again. Because if they actually reinvented things and got creative it wouldn’t FEEL like we’re just missing something we had; It would feel like we temporarily lost access to it while waiting for something better to replace it. I’m glad many Simmers (or whatever you call them; I’m a pretty hardcore fan but not a part of the community lol) are excited for those other two games, but I’m not interested in them. The Sims isn’t JUST about gameplay or genre, and even in those cases I’m not sure those games even fit within the same category. It’s also about the identity of the franchise. And I’d love to see that continued. I kept playing and paying for The Sims 4 because I thought I’d cherish the days while we still had it - it couldn’t be that much time left! So I could happily just stick with something until we got something better. Now that we know we won’t I have no idea what I’ll do. It’s depressing.
Came for the rant. Stayed because of the useful info! Thank you for making this video and sharing your perspective. My job involves teching technology to people and lately parents have asked about computer classes for kids - I assumed they were learning this in school somehow. But you made me realize how many shallow games are out there now.
i wonder if they were dead set on making sims 5 multiplayer + microtransactional but given the pushback from the community they just decided to not call it the sims 5
So, how do you really feel? 😉 I don't think anyone would have been surprised that when the Sims finally got some competition breathing down their neck, that they would continue shitting the bed. But just quitting comes as a surprise. I mean, the Sims had to be hugely profitable, because no matter how broken it is, we kept buying it. I guess like you say, EA sees more profit in a different demographic. I know a lot of us old timers gave up on the Final Fantasy VII remake because we just wanted the old game with great graphics. Instead, they've turned it into an action game because that's what the kids will buy. There's no strategy or thinking to it anymore, just finger dexterity. And like you say, most kids probably only played a few hours of it before getting bored. Even though there's a lot of gamers like you that are adults, and still a lot of gamers like me that are just old, we, and what we'd like to play, just aren't part of the corporate equation anymore. Here's putting our hopes on inZOI and Paralives, I guess. Cheer up! It'll be ok!
EA has essentially just guaranteed that the SECOND Paralives comes out, all of the sims players will FLOCK to it rapidly. They have just doomed the entire franchise.
I'm your same age, god I can't help but relate so hard to your feelings :( It's so devastating to watch a really beloved game that's stuck with you through your entire life being done so dirty like this.
That is soo shit they are sooo money hungry they do not give a crap about us at all! Im sorry i dont wanna talk about inzoi on here but now i realllly prey inzoi works out really well and i will be supporting them even more now because they are listening to us sooo much more already then sims ever had! Inzoi team all they way❤
Yes I'm SO glad we have inZOI to look forward to and be excited about and yes like you said the team seems very interested in what the community has to say, it's really reassuring :)
@@the-gaming-doc yes so excited im so glad we will have something to turn too im same age as you i have been playing sims since sims 1 lol i have supported them so much and about a year ago now i just stopped supporting them becaise they did not deserve all that love and sooo much money i spent and they just didnt care about what we have to say at all or what we wanted! This is very sad but im sooo glad we will have inzoi paralives an vivaland. Something new and fresh too look forward too.❤❤❤
This is devastating news. I've seen people who only make characters, people who only build or decorate, and people who create let's plays the can change up normal gameplay. Really the Sims has become a game that has something for everyone. However, the hope of the community has always been that a newer version would be an improvement on the last version. Not so much with the Sims 4, but we have seen the greed of the company with smaller or recolored packs and kits. I really hate to see a beloved game end this way. While I recently began playing other simulation games, I still haven't found one that allows people to ONLY create characters, ONLY create buildings, ONLY decorate, or play the whole game. I feel like scrolling is a major reason why so many people have short attention spans. You can change the screen with a flip of the finger (in an instant). I have a family member that spends hours scrolling on her phone, while I'm on a computer typing, researching, and gaming. There is a big difference between the two when it comes to directing your attention span. You totally made since in this video and I absolutely agree with you.
Oh my gosh yes!!!! I was truly hoping there would be a Sims 5 that would redeem the rushed release of the sims 4, I was so sad to find those news today :(( Yes I totally agree with you! I feel like computers require a lot more from the user, more skills, focus, even creativity! So true! Thank you for your comment :)
I don’t even play Sims 4 bc imo it was a step backwards from Sims 3. I’ve been hoping for a Sims 5 to correct the things they left out in 4 that 3 and even 2 had. But some things got paywalled into 4 packs and other things won’t happen bc it would take a new game to do it. But now that’s never gonna happen in this franchise. So I’ll happily be patient for Paralives and maybe even InZoi. That’s the one thing the kids today don’t have is patience and that’s frustrating to me because it’s a very valuable thing to learn in life. Nothing is instant for anyone in the real world and when you expect that, you’re gonna be disappointed more often and you’ll be miserable.
Gen Z simmer here. I grew up with very little technology. My parents were always very careful with keeping me off the internet. We never owned a computer (not that we could afford one, my parents were 18 year old high school dropouts when they had me) We had VHS tapes and I used to watch Disney movies on the box TV we had. My parents had cell phones, but I wasn’t allowed to use them. The only times I was ever on a computer was at school in the computer lab and I only used them for school related stuff. I was in the fifth grade when we got a more modern TV and an Xbox 360 with Minecraft. After I started playing Minecraft I discovered UA-cam, but my parents carefully monitored what I watched, so I only ever watched DanTDM. I was well into middle school when I got my first cell phone and I only really discovered the wider internet for the first time right before I started high school. I remember going into high school and feeling very out of the loop. Even 4 years later I feel a large disconnect with people my age because none of them understand my adoration for VHS tapes or my complete lack of understanding when they bring up things that were apparently popular on the internet when we were kids. In general, I find that I don’t have a very hard time learning things about computers now despite having no foundation in technology (like making files and stuff) and my attention span and patience are way better than most people my age since I didn’t grow up with instant gratification right at my fingertips. Overall, the internet and cheap mobile games really are ruining the younger generations, but it’s getting to a point where if children aren’t on the internet it unfortunately leads to a large social disconnection with other people their age. Basically, it’s unfortunate no matter how you cut it.
I agree with you here 💯 %but I am not surprised at all when it comes from EA, a company that is most likely to ruined the games they make. Fifa/ea fc has been dead for years. I would say the same thing for the sims 4. Because they try to hard to make more money instead of improving the game. And for them to decide to cancel the sims 5 and so on is unfortunately a money decision they feel more into then anything else
I too was distraught when i saw that the sims 5 was canceled. I'm in disbelief, really. The game has always been my go to for peace of mind. And now, now i just dont know what to do lol. The sims 4 feels so sad and lacking. I felt it on day 1 of release. I have over 10k hours in the sims 4 regardless of how i really felt. I had the paitence to wait for 5 and now that dream is dead. 😢😢😢😢
I felt this. And it happened with me years ago with resident evil series and the changes they made with this and the disdain for their older fans, they find quality games antiquated, it's all about making money fuck quality and creativity.
Completely understand and feel your point, sis! I don't even play sims4, because I disliked it since it was released. I'm 31, so I can see how everything leaning towards that younger audience who wants fast and easy everything. I never thought I'm gonna be that old fella who rants about it, but I do now😂
An interesting comparison is Football Manager. A game of immense depth and complexity but still hugely popular. This is a game for which a company exists solely to make this game for it's fanbase, and this is where something like The Sims must go - and maybe that will be the case with Inzoi and Paralives and The Sims and EA becomes something of the past, like all the failed attempts to compete with Football Manager that no longer exist.
Lets just be happy we got to play sims 2 and 3 I highly recommend taking the time for newer frustrated players to install these, fix guide them (they require it) and install the mods needed (smooth patches etc) cause once done it is nice to play these games when the sims 4 is being broken and annoying and in general theyre so much fun and can be modernised with current cc if you want. Wow what you said about ipad babies hit home 😢 it is sad
I’ve been playing the sims since i was in elementary school and once i got my adult money I’ve purchased most of their ep etc but i’ve stopped playing sims 4 completely 3 years ago when the game just feels completely soulless even with tons of additional packs. Now i’m watching sims vids again after they announced that ea basically klled the sims franchise by not doing sims 5. Grieving for my childhood
As soon as EA realizes how badly they effed up, they will turn around and say, "Oh, we didn't mean there would be no Sims 5. Just not until we've finished squeezing every last penny out Sims 4 and our gaslighting game Project Rene." Then they'll push out an upgraded Sims 3 and call it Sims 5. In the meantime, EA doesn't get another penny from me.
That’s so interesting that this study you mentioned had the exact opposite result from what you’d expect! Makes sense though cause now everything is just given, where as if I wanted my sims 1 game to run you couldn’t just UA-cam why it wasn’t working. You had to rummage through folders and read manuals to actually find out how to fix it. Saving the game on a good old floppy disk!
Respectfully im not entirely sure you realise what EA is saying and that its actually a huge problem with the games industry as a whole right now. What theyre saying in this announcement is that theyre turning the Sims into a live-service, basically a free-to-play game filled to the brim with micro-transactions and more of the features being locked off to be purchased separately or through a higher-tier subscription. So when they talk about more "options" and creating more way for people to play the game, they actually arent talking about making it more generic, theyre actually saying theyre going to split the expansions into different subscriptions, with only the most expensive tiers containing all or most of them, under the guise of "player choice". To put it bluntly, the big players in the game development/publishing industry, dont want you to be able to buy a game, ACTUALLY own that game, rather than rent it perpetually or stream it from their servers, and judge it on its merits, rather they want you to be wrapped up in their ecosystem so that youre constantly at the whim of FOMO as they flood the game with micro-transactions and constantly reshuffle what you get with your subscription and how much it costs (like Spotify and Netflix). They want you to become victims of the sunk-cost fallacy, to continue to pour money into the game in the HOPE that it'll get better, sonce youve already spent so much money on it anyway. Its greed all the way down, nothing really to do with "dumbing down" games, nor does it have anything to do with younger gamers. Its all about squeezing more money out of their current players, not re-adjusting to bring in new ones. Hope this helps.
I'm really glad I came across this video because honestly I'm so upset I've only been playing the sims for 5 years and I'm so upset and angry that I wont get to see another sims game I'm so glad I'm not the only one because it seems that most content creators are fine with this
It's really worth remembering that content creators are interested in having something they can present to viewers, not the quality of the actual product. Whatever Sims 5 turns out to be will get eyeballs if for mere curiosity and that means viewers and that means dollars and cents. They want very different things to regular players.
i, like many others, started playing the sims in 2000. the sims 4 ruined a legacy. i'm actually okay with that now. i've been open to other games and look forward to other games outside of TS4. i never looked for other games because the sims was all i needed. my options have been wide open for the last 6ish years and it's been a fun experience. i missed out on a lot wasting time with TS4. i still revisit TS1/TS2/TS3 because those games are a huge part of my life and they're still good after all these years! good riddance, TS4 👋🏾
this is how i found out that sims 5 isn't happening. i've been a simmer since TS1 so i'm devastated. you're 100% correct about this new generation of gamers.
I am beyond sad. Been playing the Sims for 24 years now. This could have been an opportunity to start over and start fresh with a game thats NOT broken from the very beginning. I think its time to say goodbye to the franchise or maybe go back to Sim 3...I dont know. It cant go on like this, pack after pack after pack. I am so done and I feel your anger!
At least we still have Paralives to look forward to. InZoi looks kinda strange to me, but could be good. Shame Paradox canned Life By You. Looked really intresting as well.
I was born in 2001 and I've grown up watching my older brother playing the sims 1, then I've grown up playing the sims 2 (A LOT) and 3 (lesser). I remember my happiness when the sims 4 was out but in 1-2 years I quit. :(
I feel this way too I’m not so sure that you’re just being emotional. I’m so grateful to have had the older sims games, people who come in with the sims 4 just don’t understand what they’re missing out on
I came in with The Sims 4. I tried to play previous games, but they felt weird for me. I spent like a couple of hours on each and then deleted them. TS4 is still superior for me. Among the older games TS2 did the best, as I think
The Sims 4 has always been terrible, the Sims 3 is still to this day lacking features that are present in the Sims 2 base game, let alone the expansions. The Sims has been on a really obvious downwards slope for about 15 years, this really shouldnt be a surprise to anyone 💁
I don't understand why you apologize at the start of your video because everything you just said was so true! Absolutely spot on and took the words right out of my mouth. Definitely try inzoi when it comes out
I’m devastated too😭It’s really sad & upsetting. I have no idea what Project Renee will be but knowing there will be no Sims 5 hurts. I’m very much looking forward to Paralives & InZOI. I’m glad we have other options coming soon because this is just….really sad. You made really great points about mobile games too & it’s true. My siblings will watch on their phones for hours. No one has much patience anymore. I catch myself doing the same, not finishing my games right away because I lack patience😭I’ve been returning to some open world games & getting lost in them, it’s been really nice. Side note but I’ve been switching my screen time out for reading & it’s been really nice getting lost in a book for hours✨I’d like to do the same for games I haven’t finished instead of doom scrolling on tiktok lol booktok & the cozy gaming community has been getting me through a lot💛✨I’m happy to be apart of this community as well✨
It's Simcity all over again. They crashed and burnt with the latest edition and then they canceled the franchise. That happen with Simcity and now with The Sims. But other company will arise with a new and better life simulation like what happened with Skylines. PD: I'm 48 and my generation started having to learn how to use a computer to play videogames. We are nerds since that word was an insult.😂
True I miss Simcity to this day :( You guys are awesome and I have deep respect for you all! I'm always amazed how much you guys understand about computers when sometimes it's not even related to your jobs, my mum knows so much about computer components and she doesn't even like nor use pcs xD I learnt SO MUCH about tech from your gen ♡
I want to say you said nothing off and were very on point. The idea the this might e viewed as negative or offensive to people to me speaks of decay of thought x) This isn't something only in gamin too, kids are reading poorly written fan-fiction and netflix pumps put shows for cash and the collective standarts for media have dropped because the average joe picks dopamine spam vs engaging with media in a meaningful way. As an ex teacher I have to say all of this (the ipad kids overstimulated, who want endless streams of fast brain numbing content) is having a negative effect that I think will follow kids into adulthood.
As a hardcore sims fan from since TS1, it’s extremely frustrating to see what EA is doing, seeing people complain about it but continuing to play/purchase more of the game. Right now it’s like what over 1k to own every piece of the game, in ten more years that will be probably 2.5k to own the FULL sims 4 experience just for them to turn around and drop sims 5 and do it again. The sims really died at sims 3. I always find myself going back to sims 3. Only thing I think sims 4 has to really offer is their building mechanics. To be honest I’m a HUGE fan of their build/buy mode, but I always found Sims 4 to be bland when playing in life mode. And on day one when sims 4 dropped it was thee most disappointing feeling ever.
This. I'm actually more annoyed at the Sims community because they didn't stop pouring money into the game, despite people telling them it would end up like this. KITS were put out to test if Simmers would spend money on little items over and over and over. Well, what are microtransactions? Now, that's exactly what is happening and everyone is shocked. I'm confused how people didn't see it coming.
@@BooDotBoo I won’t lie. As a sims fan, when sims 4 dropped I poured my money into it. In hopes that it would equal to my previous experiences with Sims 2-3 because those were golden years. But sadly it never got to that point. I found myself purchasing more and more and being disappointed more and more. I stopped after my wedding stories. That’s how dedicated I was. I am someone who paid for the base before it became “free to play”. Which stung. But once I saw that broken gameplay and experienced crashing on my high end rig I knew it wasn’t me but them. I tried over and over to give them the benefit of the doubt but I soon began to realize I’m the “dumb target audience” that will consume just because I love an IP. Was a hard and EXPENSIVE lesson to learn but I did. And EA will never get my money again. And I just feel bad for those who fall “victim” or rather are “gullible” to the hype and pay more to get an experience when it should have been delivered day 1 when I purchased.
This is a stupid decision ngl. sims 4 is already pushed to the limits of a game that old, DLC releases and updates break the game, and any future DLCs will be heavily limited by it being an old game. They have to keep releasing "kits" with a few new CAS and Build Mode items and DLCs that add nothing that people who mod games as a hobby couldn't add. The graphics also look really outdated these days but to be honest their next game is probably gonna be even more hideous and clay like than unmodded sims 4. At the same time tho I feel like players have spent so much on sims 4 that some people might be annoyed if a sims 5 came out, imagine spending $1000 on a game just for them to make it all again. And as long as people keep buying their shitty sims 4 "DLCs" they'll keep releasing them. The only way they could be stopped is if fans get together and refuse to buy half-assed crap. People don't want to spend money on CC which I understand but at this point a lot of that content is better quality than the official content they release. But why would they invest into a new game if sims 4 is still making money from new packs. imo now is the perfect time for another company to develop an alternative to sims with new gen graphics
Thank you for this! I got so frustrated watching other Sims UA-cam channels say things like... "oh it's great they care that we don't want to start over and buy all the packs" nonsense. I think I only saw ONE other who KNEW what is going on here. Probably because we are the smart ones who know how to make a folder on our computer. lol j/k EA has been chomping at the bits for years to get into the online money scamming business with The Sims. I hope it blows up in their face. I'll be 62 next month and been playing since I bought Sims 1 for a gift for my nephews. They long ago quit playing, but I'm still here building and decorating houses. ha I just thank god that we've got other options coming out. I do wish they would remaster The Sims 3 tho. EA reminds me of Disney right now... greed and poor decisions will kill off the franchise eventually. Edit: Also did you see the new logo?! lol It's so dumbed down and is a shadow of its former self.... just like their new money market.
This is the realest video I've watched about the sims. And the talk about the newer generations, I absolutely agree, we are raising users, not thinkers. No attention spans, everyone wants instant dopamine. We are slaves of our phones and the newer generations are showing the results of dopamine addictions and destroyed attention spans...
You got it completely wrong, though your sentiment that they changed things around to exploit buyers for more money is true. Sims 4 is going to get updates, so it doesn't get replaced by cozy games. They will exploit kids to make CC kits they sell, even the idea makes anyone an EA belong in prison for child exploitations. What they are going to do is have Sims 4 + stuff and other stuff and even more stuff that all can use the Sims 4 CC in all of them and make money of the CC creators.
I've been playing the Sims franchise since Sim City 2000. This series means so much to me and to see EA robbing it of its future and tying it to the worst mainline game is absolutely shocking to me.
I'm also bummed by the news, but I think we have to accept that our children will not play the same games we do. They don't even play the same way we used to do. I can see you're worried, and there are a lot of things to be worried about when it comes to our youths, but they'll be fine. Really. My parents didn't like me being on the internet, now they're more online than me. They didn't understand that I hung out with my friends while by playing on the Play Station together in the living room, but I have friends and still have a healthy social life as an adult. Much love ❤
Girl, you just said everything I've been feeling since I saw they weren't making The Sims 5 anymore. To be perfectly honest, I haven't played TS4 in years bc I was genuinely so disappointed in it after having been so obsessed with TS3. Yes, it was hard to play sometimes bc it was so glitchy but I was so obsessed I bought a really high powered PC just to play it & it was worth every penny. So, when the TS4 came out & it was such a setback compared to everything we had in TS3 I was pist. When they came out with Seasons for TS4, I picked it up again for a bit, but ultimately got bored with it again. I really have had a love-hate relationship with the game tbh. Hence why I just decided to stop playing it until TS5. So now, to hear that that's no longer happening, I really do feel like I'm just never gonna play it again. I haven't bought any of the new packs after Cottage Living. I'm just over it. Smh. I completely agree with you about the target audience now, I guess they really are taking over with these mindless games that serve no purpose other than as small distractions of 10 minutes of game play at a time. I am absolutely heartbroken. I was 14 when The Sims came out & that's the only game I played well into adulthood. Sigh. What a sad time to be alive now. Lol 🥲
Just found this video....my heart just dropped to the floor. Of course, we'll get games like Paralives and Inzoi....and yeah EA has been shitty in these past years....but Sims is the Sims.....I had such a hope they would redeem themselves somehow with Sims 5/Project Rene...I am not gonna lie....these news hurt and are heartbreaking. I've been with the Sims from the very beginning. :( They just keep making awful decisions. I hate they start to forget us older generations.
I fully agree with you! We were lucky to be the generation who got to experience Sims 1 and then its creative expansions, back when expansion packs was chock full of new gameplay, details, and the best part of all, fun! Then sims 2 came out, taking from OG but improving in so many ways that was not possible on the old engine. Sims 2 still is pretty much the gold standard of sims gaming with all the features they included in it. multiple neighborhoods, pool water with actual physics, lots of great animations for doing tasks, so much more content, events, stories, etc. Could you imagine if EA stated back then, SIms 1 was all there was going to be and they were going to keep adding more packs and there was never going to be that Sims 2. Even phrasing it like that shows how ridiculous their idea is. Though I'm sure the real reason for it is that EA doesn't want to give away free content. Imagine, if Sims 5 came out, they would have to include things like seasons, wedding stuff, etc into their base game to compete with Paralives, Inzoi, vivaland, etc because a lot of those games are including that in the base game. EA couldn't monetize that as separate packs because it wouldn't be acceptable now. However if they stick with the sims 4, they can continue to monetize those aspects from players while claiming they are doing it for "the sake of the fans and their stories. so they won't have to start over". Its some hardcore PR manipulation and its greedy. No wonder sim guru grant left EA for Midsummer studios so they can create their own life simulation. He must of knew the direction they were heading and wanted nothing to do with this garbage.
I expected this ,because we never about proces about sims5 ,and its was very quite about project rene, they right also about sims 4 ,people spend so much money about sims4 serie, they want do it again, the market is change, the sims4 is a very succesfully serie for them;and they will keep it. there also a available for the S4. and more will come they say,.i don't want to start over again ,with buying everything again for sims5 like the other series.
Thank god you’re saying it. I’m so disturbed by all the sims UA-camrs acting like that was a positive announcement
Yeeess all of this
100% SAME omg, I am so happy I got to experience the full sim lore.
So happy for the memories too
Same here, I'm a Zillennial too young to be a Millennial and to old to be a Gen z.
@@dandeleon2764 I know we like to go after EA, Ubisoft, Sony, but everyone forgets how much of an asshole Nintendo are.
I can’t wait for EA to lose their Sims base.
Look at what happen to Sim City
@@twentyvue Yes, exactly. The independent studios will make the game the Sims 5 was supposed to be and the Sims will die.
Not happening
It's crazy people were saying InZoi and Paralives couldn't dethrone The Sims, but like I said before The Sims is cooked 😔
I'm even more excited about paralives and inzoi now! That's where my hopes are!! :)
I actually can't wait until Paralives comes out. Not gonna pay any dime towards EA anymore, not that I have in the past 2 years.
If you gave them anywhere close over 200 dollars, you already helped them by a long shot.
@@Mr.Cheeseburger24 ur not wrong sadly
I’m 37 and I totally agree with you … games industry is totally dead . I’m always been a gamer , play from rpg to horrors and etc meanwhile I grow up with the sims and is very upsetting see how the franchise turned up .
I hate mobile games , they are so soulless and stupid .
Oh yes I share your feelings towards mobile games, can't stand them...
@@the-gaming-docit depends which ones… but I never play mobile games on my phone. Mobile games are now pc games
I feel like this is going to backfire on them
I really hope so! 🙏🏻
BG3 is amazing but even it didn’t survive corporate greed and that’s why the devs will not be giving us more. :’(
@@serinajewel438 It's not really about corporate greed here.
Yes!!!! It feels like every year EA just keep making worse decisions and just going down the hill (even though they're still making a lot of money)
What's even worse is that some sims 4 addicts refuse to stop buying overpriced dlc and encourage EA to keep screwing sims fans over
EA has always been like this.
I miss it, but I’m kinda glad I don’t play because the amount of money spent on packs ☠️
I can’t imagine the amount of money they’re going to suck out of people with this decision 😬
I think spin-offs are cool and I do like them but just like you said, I didn't want them to just stop at Sims 4 :( I'm very hopeful about paralives and inzoi ♡
your emotions are reasonable and valid, i'm devastated too and I wish EA would listen to us
Thank you so much ♡ Yes, true... It's sad they don't listen to their own community ☹️
I dont understand
They listen to you all the time that is why Sims 4 getting issues. so wish they would do a sims 5 so you can complain about that one instead.
Don’t buy any of there games or DLCs and watch it change
@@sziklamester1244 you're right, unfortunately vivaland is always forgotten!
@@sziklamester1244I hadn’t heard of that but I’m interested
Unfortunately, society has become quick fix, instant gratification.
EA ALL WE WANT IS THE SIMS 2+3 you’ve done it before just remaster and make those games combined!
Daaaamn….when you put it that way, yea I agree with you. This is a really bad news….It’s EA who will kill the Sims franchise NOT inzoi or Paralives
We're all devastated. I'm so DONE with The Sims series. I can't wait for Paralives to come out so I can move on.
Exactly, same for me too :( It's so frustrating and sad to see this happened to such a beloved game franchise
💯 agree with everything you mentioned! After that announcement I upped my monthly subscription to Paralives Patreon because I NEED them to succeed.
I do have a theory, I think the reason EA gave up on Sims 5 is because games like Inzoi are absolutely blowing it out of the park (I have my issues with Inzoi as well, but still) they know they can't compete because they realize at this point that people are sick of their half assed BS.
that is kind of the thing, they wanted to give us the raw version of SIMS 5, as it was with SIMS 4, so there would be almost nothing there, or even less ( how it was with SIMS 3 compared to SIMS4)
Given that, there would be a huge risk that compared to paralives SIMS 5 would look bad (which probably it would) and boring, and cash grabby, again true.
I am not devastated, because probably SIMS 5 would be even worse then SIMS 4 :)
RAGE for the company is understandable though.
@@clumsy_koala6732 feel like its more what was said in the video it's more profitable to make a "free" game with microtransactions, people find it hard to drop $100 on a game but spending $100 in small transactions after getting hooked on a game is easy

this is bad news. nothing else. The Sims 4 is not a solid foundation in terms of code. it's already buggy now.
Way too long comment here but I've nowhere else to ramble about this.
At first glance, I thought the excuse that they didn’t want us to let go of characters and stories we’ve had for up to a decade was convincing. But the more I think about it, the less I like it, and I have some main reasons:
- We wouldn’t have to let go of anything but our expansions.
It’s depressing.
i'm 18 and literally everything you said was spot on
Came for the rant. Stayed because of the useful info! Thank you for making this video and sharing your perspective. My job involves teching technology to people and lately parents have asked about computer classes for kids - I assumed they were learning this in school somehow. But you made me realize how many shallow games are out there now.
I am a 40 year old woman and I am feeling the same way as you.
i wonder if they were dead set on making sims 5 multiplayer + microtransactional but given the pushback from the community they just decided to not call it the sims 5
Well I still feel quite sad, I was hoping they were secretly working on the sims 5 :( thank you for asking
EA has essentially just guaranteed that the SECOND Paralives comes out, all of the sims players will FLOCK to it rapidly. They have just doomed the entire franchise.

I feel sad for this new generation truly
We never owned a computer (not that we could afford one, my parents were 18 year old high school dropouts when they had me)
We had VHS tapes and I used to watch Disney movies on the box TV we had.
Yes it's true... it's not the first time EA does something like this :/
@@the-gaming-doc yeah I still believe in krafton and Inzoi for the future
It's okay, we will have Inzoi and Paralives soon. And then it's RIP EA.
They seen inzoi and thought nah no way we gotta cancel there is no way we can ad cars and more active jobs 😂😂😂
HAHAHAHAAH oh my gosh yes xD
😂
they're adding the generative AI bull to their game tho, they did like that aspect of Inzoi.
Lets just be happy we got to play sims 2 and 3
I highly recommend taking the time for newer frustrated players to install these, fix guide them (they require it) and install the mods needed (smooth patches etc) cause once done it is nice to play these games when the sims 4 is being broken and annoying and in general theyre so much fun and can be modernised with current cc if you want.
Maybe we need to go on a strike and stop purchasing all sims dlcs and expansion packs and just stop playing for like a year or two
I'm really glad I came across this video because honestly I'm so upset I've only been playing the sims for 5 years and I'm so upset and angry that I wont get to see another sims game I'm so glad I'm not the only one because it seems that most content creators are fine with this
It's really worth remembering that content creators are interested in having something they can present to viewers, not the quality of the actual product.
Damn! A passionate woman! And yes, we are the same generation. The Sims 2 will forever be peak to me!
Oh EA! Oh EA! Don’t you know that your new target audience will get bored of what you have to offer in five minutes before moving into the next thing?
this is how i found out that sims 5 isn't happening. i've been a simmer since TS1 so i'm devastated. you're 100% correct about this new generation of gamers.
True, we're at the point where convenience is making kids computer illiterate. They are spoonfed too much.
Kids today spend much more time playing these "free" games, but when you don't passa level you have to pay. Or those violence games
True I miss Simcity to this day :(
You guys are awesome and I have deep respect for you all! I'm always amazed how much you guys understand about computers when sometimes it's not even related to your jobs, my mum knows so much about computer components and she doesn't even like nor use pcs xD I learnt SO MUCH about tech from your gen ♡
I want to say you said nothing off and were very on point. The idea the this might e viewed as negative or offensive to people to me speaks of decay of thought x)
This isn't something only in gamin too, kids are reading poorly written fan-fiction and netflix pumps put shows for cash and the collective standarts for media have dropped because the average joe picks dopamine spam vs engaging with media in a meaningful way.
As an ex teacher I have to say all of this (the ipad kids overstimulated, who want endless streams of fast brain numbing content) is having a negative effect that I think will follow kids into adulthood.
Inzoi and Paralives are celebrating :D
They better make a lot of big free updates..😐
I feel so validated because this is exactly the truth !
I'm so happy I still play the sims 2 and haven't given EA my money since like the first expansion of ts4 came out
Extremely relatable video subbed!
They just keep making awful decisions. I hate they start to forget us older generations.
It's very sad 😔 I agree with everything you said
I fully agree with you!
